About this apartment rental
Ring the bell for ‘Curtain Up’ at Ca’ Dell’ Opera Terrace– a tale of transformation from ugly duckling to swan
Lavishly and luxuriously renovated to the same exceptional standards as those offered by our spectacular Grand Canal palazzi and piano nobile properties, and welcoming guests with a comforting sense of warmth and intimacy in tune with its rather cosier yet still more than ample proportions, VOV is delighted to bring you this showstopping new apartment.
Brimming with character and showcasing the fruits of yet another supremely successful creative collaboration between Views on Venice and trusted architect and interior design company Archflorence, Ca’ Dell’ Opera stands proud alongside Ca’ Del Teatro, Ca’ Cerchieri Loredan, Ca’ Dell’ Ulivo, Ca' Della Luce, La Marchesa and Gondolieri in an innovative and highly regarded line-up of VOV - owned and completely restored apartments – individually designed with refinement and taste to elevate them all to the very top of their league, and marrying Venetian spirit and understated glamour with flawlessly executed Florentine flair.
Named and beautifully decorated (though somewhat less ostentatiously!) in homage to the magical jewel-like opera houses of Venice – the Malibran, the Goldoni and, of course, La Fenice – and in memory of those theatres that have long disappeared, Ca’ Dell’ Opera has 4 bedrooms/4 bathrooms and is charmingly located in peaceful Campo degli Incurabili, Dorsoduro, close to the Accademia Galleries and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, and steps from the Zattere with its spectacular views.
Sleeping 8 (+1) in a relaxed atmosphere of quiet affluence and comfortable living, the fully air-conditioned* apartment is spread over 3 levels and impeccably presented from top-to-toe in bespoke soft furnishings and custom-built fittings all unique to Ca’ Dell’ Opera.
Important: please note that the apartment only accepts fully supervised children over 6 years of age or under 1 year (non-walking babies) because of the internal stairs and ‘altana’ rooftop terrace.
Generous as well as flexible in terms of space, and boasting a new and truly wonderful furnished ‘altana’ rooftop terrace offering splendid views across rooftops towards St. Mark’s Campanile, Salute and more, accommodation comprises:
Ground floor
• A main entrance hallway leading to a beamed double bedroom with twin beds, gothic-inspired mirrored wardrobe, terrazzo flooring and a smart en-suite bathroom with shower and deluxe fittings.
• A handy utility room with combined washer/dryer on the opposite side of the hallway, and a stairs rising to the level above.
First floor
• A delightful and wonderfully coordinated beamed sitting room in shades of deep duck egg blue with ruby red accents, a Juliet balcony, large L-shaped sofa, custom-designed carpeting and polished marmorino walls softly lit and hung with palazzo-style window-panelled mirrors – veramente delizioso!
• A well-equipped beamed kitchen/dining room – with integrated wine fridge/cooler and Miele oven – in dramatic red marmorino, with banquet seating, a dining table accommodating up to 10 guests, a Juliet balcony and terrazzo flooring.
• A pretty-as-a-picture beamed twin bedroom resembling a leafy garden arbor and with a Juliet balcony to the side. Exquisitely furnished in honey-colour hues with bespoke carpeting and Zoffany ‘Eleanora’ wallpaper as backdrop.
• A stylish beamed master bedroom in subtle olive-grey with double bed, mirrored wardrobe, bespoke carpeting and a splendid en-suite bathroom with bathtub and separate shower.
• A separate bathroom with fabulously large shower and in similar style to the master’s en-suite.
Stairs to –
Second floor
• A wonderfully cosy penthouse suite with beams and parquet flooring, comprising a small sitting room/study/TV room-snug beautifully decorated (again in Zoffany!) and with a sofa (which can be turned into a single bed upon request); a charming double bedroom reached via a small dressing area; and a smart en-suite bathroom with dual-access and shower.
• Stairs (quite steep and with low/restricted headspace**) rising up to the new, furnished ‘altana’ rooftop terrace where you can while away the hours relaxing in the sun, all the time admiring the remarkable city vistas all around (** please be aware that, as a result, these stairs and access to the ‘altana’ may prove difficult for the elderly, children, or those with mobility issues)
OUR COMMENT
Elegance and comfort rolled into one, and one of our finest achievements to date!
A short stroll to the Church of the Salute and to the Punta Della Dogana Center of Contemporary Art at Dorsoduro’s eastern tip, and close to a great choice of eating places and bars including Ai Gondolieri, Lineadombra and Ristorante Riviera for fine dining, and Osteria Al Squero and Cantinone Gia Schiavi for spritz and cicheti.
An easy walk to 4 vaporetto (water bus) stops – Zattere Spirito Santo, Zattere, Salute and Accademia for travel around the city (note that St. Mark’s Square can be reached by vaporetto from Salute in under 5 minutes on Line 1!), to 2 Conad supermarkets – one just behind the Zattere Spirito Santo vaporetto stop and the other at the western end of the Zattere – and to the traghetto at Calle Lanza / Calle del Traghetto San Gregorio which, during operating hours, ferries passengers by gondola across the Grand Canal to the traghetto stop beside the Gritti Palace in the district of San Marco.

The house is beautiful. Just as advertised in the pictures. The service from Views on Venice was excellent. Beds very comfortable. Calm neighborhood. We had a great stay.
Only warn the guests about the amount of stairs to get to the main floor. Especially for senior guests. My mom had a hard time getting up and down from them.

yet easy to access so many lovely shops and restaurants nearby, walking distance to lots of other attractions. Vaporetto stops nearby. Overall wonderful experience staying here with family.

This is a lovely apartment with three double beds and a fourth bedroom with twin beds each with their own bathroom three en suite. It has a roof terrace which provides offers a lovely view of Venice. It is situated in a quiet part of the city with a Conad supermarket within easy walking distance.
We couldn’t make the Bluetooth connection to the speaker work.

We had a wonderful time in Ca dell’Opera. The location is truly wonderful, one minute away from everything. The decoration of bedrooms and bathroom is delightful. The kitchen has everything you need to cook. Plenty of storage and space, and light. The only downside is the ground floor bedroom - which we didn’t use - is quite dark so definetely not as nice as the other three. The sitting room is a bit small as well but we did not really use it as mostly were touring the city! This is the second time we use views on venice and the service (water taxi, luggage, communication) is truly impeccable.
Nothing. Really appreciate having some soap/coffee/salt/bin bags etc. Some rentals don’t even have the minimum, so this was really a plus. We will be back, the service is amazing.

This apartment was very conveniently located - close to a number of vaporetto stops and a handy little supermarket. It had everything we could wish for during our 4 night stay in Venice. Very clean and comfortable. Lovely decor and comfy beds. The balcony/terrace is amazing and a wonderful way to end a day of sightseeing - a glass of wine overlooking the rooftops of Venice!
Little extras like umbrellas and wellies were very welcome too.
Check in was easy and meeting Caterina to guide us to the accommodation was very straightforward and she was great at answering any questions we had.

We had 2 families and the separation of space worked out great for us with the common area and then the bedrooms separately. The bedrooms / bathrooms were great and the location was great with short walking distance to all the spots we went to on the trip.

We had a wonderful stay at Ca' Dell'Opera Terrace in Venice. The accommodations were not only lovely but also spacious enough to comfortably accommodate both of our families traveling together. We particularly enjoyed the charming location and neighborhood, which offered a refreshing escape from the touristy areas of Venice. There were plenty of fantastic restaurants and unique experiences nearby, allowing us to truly immerse ourselves in the local culture.
However, one aspect worth mentioning for potential guests is the number of stairs. While the property itself was fantastic, navigating the stairs with luggage can be challenging, especially for older visitors or those with mobility issues. It's important to keep this in mind when considering the property.
Overall, we highly recommend Ca' Dell'Opera Terrace for its delightful accommodations, charming location, and memorable experiences. Just be mindful of the stairs if you have any specific mobility requirements.
Thank you for a lovely stay!

We really enjoyed our stay here. Would definitely stay here again if the opportunity became available. There are a lot of stairs, which didn’t bother most in our group, but those with mobility issues would have a tough time with all the levels. Everything was clean, well maintained, and beautiful. Plenty of space—rooms, bathrooms, and even a laundry machine.
We took a private water taxi from the train station to the closest dock to the property, and were even met by a representative of the property who walked with us to the property and helped us with an easy check-in. It was so nice since it would’ve been hard for us to quickly find where we were supposed to go. Thank you!

This very beautiful apartment in Dorsoduro was a delight. We felt adventurous going to this neighborhood but it was easy and near great restaurants, Peggy Guggenheim museum, and walks. Must be able to climb stairs to enjoy this spot. Easy gathering in living room and kitchen, the food store is just around the corner. Definitely would make the same decision, added to the wonderfulness of Venice!

I have stayed in several beautiful apartments with Views on Venice over the years and every time the accommodation has been great and the service outstanding. This apartment was no exception - with delightful views over the roof tops to the bell tower in St Mark's square from the terrace. The bedrooms were very comfortable and all the bathrooms well appointed. Decor and ambience were perfect and the very large and well equipped kitchen meant we were able to enjoy home cooked meals ( we are all foodies and love to cook ) including a special Halloween party night. I cannot praise Views on Venice highly enough.
Nothing at all.

Great Location
I think you should offer to get some basic grocery for guest for convenience so when they arrive, they don't have to hunt for shops immediately. I am sure everyone will be prepared to pay little more for this service

This lovely old villa has been lovingly restored and decorated in a traditional style. There are many steps of course; this is Venice! But our family ranging in age from a healthy 80 year old to young 60 year olds loved eating together in the big, modern kitchen and talking over our day in the pretty living room. The host’s communication was excellent, and there is a wonderful book of information on stores and restaurants should you want recommendations.

We had a great stay in the apartment with 4Br and 4 baths. The place is very well appointed. The management meet us at the water bus stop and walked us to the house. The neighborhood is quiet and the rooftop deck was lovely.

The first time we stayed with Views on Venice was 20 yrs ago and it continues to be the best way of seeing Venice. You don’t feel quite such a tourist and it provides you with a peaceful private retreat from the business of Venice.

WONDERFUL VENICE DORSODURO PLACE TO STAY
We wanted a place that our family could all stay together in a lovely and convenient spot in Venice and this apartment proved to be all of that. It had beautiful rooms and bathrooms, was spacious and had a well equipped kitchen. It does have a lot of steps for those who may need to avoid that, but for our group it was fine. We loved the added bonus of an outside rooftop deck even though it was not large, it was fine.

Perfect place to stay in Venice
Loved this house! First, having trekked all over Venice I think Dosodoro must be the best place to stay. It’s away from the crowds, but an easy walk to several squares. There is a new Conad less than 5 minute’s walk away.
About the house, it has been beautifully decorated and has four and a half separate bedrooms each with a full bath in or nearby. With AC and window shutters, and comfy beds and linens, we slept well. The kitchen has all the basics, and serves as a common area along with the living room. We didn’t use the roof terrace much because our crew is pretty sensitive about mosquitoes, but we did enjoy it on a breezy evening and it is as wonderful as the other reviews say.
A shout out to the management company, they arranged our taxis and led us to/from the taxi stops so we didn’t get lost. The support materials provided were excellent. We had a personal situation occur after hours and the 24/7 support was responsive, standing by to help.
I would not hesitate to recommend this property or property management company.

Outstanding apartment
Perfect for our group of 4 couples. Service from Views on Venice was exceptional, responded very quickly to requests to book Water Taxis and arranging for luggage to be sent to the airport. Couldn’t have asked for more.
Nothing, the service and apartment were exceptional.

Sogno veneziano!

Great area to stay. Close to the action, but quiet at night.
High quality finishes in bathrooms and Venetian plaster on walls. Miele appliances in kitchen. Full HVAC. No fires. TV system tricky, but ViewsonVenice were very helpful. Local supermarket half a mile away on Zattere. Good local restaurants and bar near San Vio. We had a fantastic time in a lovely apartment (on 3 levels with steep stairs).

Beautiful Flat
We suggest hiring a porter to bring your luggage as it is far from the private taxi drop off and over 2 bridges. Also a porter will include bringing your luggage up the 3 flights of narrow stairs to the rooms. It is a lovely flat, beautifully decorated and very spacious. WiFi and T.V. Did not work during our stay. A little more information on getting around would have been greatly appreciated, since we walked many extra miles trying to find our way around even using GPS. The closest water taxi stop is at Academia and would have made our stay much easier had we known to leave and return from there daily.

Wonderful Property
Stayed here with 7 other family members and everyone loved the property, comfortable, clean, looked just like the pictures and in a great location with shops and restaurants within a 5 minute walk. Marta, the host, was a great help! She was always available to help and assisted in booking taxis to and from the airport as well as arranging for our luggage to be delivered there in advance.
We would definitely stay again if we return to Venice!

ELEGANCE
Elegant and spacious house in a quiet place in the center of the Dorsoduro Sestiere. The equipment of the house is new, the house offers a lot of furniture and all is beautiful. The kitchen is very well equiped. The sleeping room offer a lot of space. All the bad rooms are elegant. Ca' dell' Opera is a good choice to spend a couple of days or weeks in Venice.
