We had a great winter vacation at this home. House was warm and cozy and had everything we needed. Steps to the recreation center and a great wooded trail. Close to three ski areas and great shops and restaurants near by.

Used the property while there for a hockey tournament. Short drive to Waterville rink as well as Plymouth state. The home could use some updating but it is comfortable and affordable.

The first thing we noticed when we arrived was the musty smell. Was not cleaned very well. The yard was full of clutter and the grass around the firepit was at least a foot tall. On top of that it was a major hassle to cook on the stove because the circuit breaker kept tripping. It was hot to the touch. On top of that there was water leaking right into the breaker panel from the bathroom plumbing. We had to plunge the toilet repeatedly. It was gross to walk barefoot on the floors. We did call the owner about the stove and he told us to unplug the dehumidifier but that didn't solve the breaker problem. The fancy coffee pot had the button labels worn off and it was trial and error to figure out to work. It was in a nice area but poorly kept property. Would not stay again.

Great place to stay for a winter ski trip! Access to everything you need in a beautiful location.

The location of the property is terrific, about 18 minutes to Waterville Valley for skiing. Nestled in a quiet community with lots of activities.
But the listing is very inaccurate. “Updated in 2008” refers to what’s shown in the pictures, but the bedrooms and bathroom are quite dated and even falling into disrepair. The dishwasher is quite antique, the fridge has bungee cords holding it together in places.
We had to bring our own towels, shampoo & conditioner. I would advise bringing your own dish soap and sponge, as well as anything you need to have for the kitchen: coffee filters, mixing bowls, measuring cups, Tupperware.. all not available in the “fully furnished” VRBO.

Great place for a getaway with small private yard and fire pit. There a nice rec center with tennis courts and pond within walking distance. Also close to convenience stores for last minute items or a couple exits away from larger groceries and Walmart.
Chuck was very friendly and let us know we could call him with any questions. He responded to messages within a few days and was a very nice host.
The prior guests didn't sufficiently wash their dishes so we ended up washing everything prior to use, which I'd do anyway due to the pandemic.
The only thing we didn't do is bring our own DVD, which we should have for a rainy day or just some down time.
We would stay again.

We were so happy to find this property available during COVID! The listing is very accurate. The actual place is just like the photos. Chuck (host) was very responsive to questions via email and phone. Check in and out process was easy. We were there with our college-age children and a dog...the place was perfect for us! A few repairs/updates were needed around the house, but the grill and the fire pit were real assets. Also, there are great hiking paths right out the door, and a swimming pond a 5-minute walk from the property. Also, there is a good grocery store (Campton Cupboard) and good local restaurants close-by as well. We loved our stay! Thanks, Chuck!

The renting process was easy, however I was charged $XXX for an extra guest fee.The property lists that it sleeps 9 and I listed 8 people. Not sure why I was charged extra. Also the listing reads $XXX a night and I was charged $XXXa night for 3 nights.I had actual dollar amounts but I could not submit my review with the specifics.
