Quiet and peaceful, full of amazing plants and flowers. The location by 99 steps made it easy to access historic downtown. We will definitely stay here again!

It's a great little hotel close to the airport. The is a parking lot, the room is amazing with a view from the top over the island... it has everything needed, with also microwave, some plates & cups, coffee with even filters & all. The hotel has great amenities like the pool that has a great view .. there is also some snorkeling masks & fins, sunscreen which was awesome...
Also, they never run out of power "it's a common issue on Virgin Islands", they use solar panels.
On top of that & most important the amazing hosts Lyndsey & Chase .. Lovely couple that manages the property & they were very helpful with during my stay .. Lyndsey was so patient answering all my questions before I even came .. she met me by the door "with the heavy lock lol :D" then walked me to the room & explained everything .. I spent most of the days out & sometimes I come back & forget to get myself a soft drink .. one day I found it left for me in the fridge :))
We were chatting daily & I really felt I knew them since long time.. their great hospitality makes you feel home <3
I would definitely recommend this awesome place & It will be my place if I get the chance to visit St. Thomas again :))
Nothing .. it's a perfect place .. maybe just the heavy door lock at the entrance which will be changed :'D

The view from the pool was spectacular and Lindsey the manager went above and beyond - it wasn’t just an overnight stay, she made sure it was an experience and provided information on restaurants and assisted with transportation.

We stayed 5 nights at the Green Iguana in May 2024. It met and exceeded our expectations. It is small, but on its own locked compound, so very safe and private. Not noisy at night. The managers are friendly and so helpful with any questions. They provided maps, recommendations and some good taxi numbers (beware not all drivers are honest). I walked downtown a couple times, trying 2 different stairways. It's very doable and not far. Even though the island had a
storm when we were there and lost power, we did not as a generator kicked in. Can't recommend highly enough!! GO!!
Only that we couldn't stay longer. It was almost perfect.

Wonderful staff, super friendly! Very clean room, good location close to town!

Centrally located. Manager Lyndsey was great! Helped settle us in and great recommendations for restaurants and activities. I would stay here again!

The managers are lovely, very helpful with advice and assistance with minor issues. The room was comfortable, although the bathroom could really use freshening up.
The kitchenette was adequate for preparing breakfasts and warming up food. A nespresso or Keurig machine would be great and tell guests to bring their own pods. The splash pool and deck are well designed and offer a great sunset view.
Although the location is close to town, walking there requires navigating down one of three stairways. The hotel needs to be clear that the historic "99 steps" choice is not safe or practicable for some travelers. The historic steps are in poor condition and were not built with standard rise/run ratios. The stair surfaces are uneven, bricks have shifted, there are potholes in places, and the handrail is missing in spots and about to fall over in other sections. I'll try to add a clip of the swaying handrail. Anyone with any balance issues would want to avoid this stairway. A stairway down the road a bit to the west in front of the Governor's house could be a better option, but might be slippery when wet. The hotel should provide more complete information so folks can judge before booking whether they will need taxis to get to town for meals and shopping.
A second issue was housekeeping. We don't need much, but I think there's a $25/day fee. For that we got the garbage emptied most days and 2 fresh towels one day when I ran into the housekeeper. No sweeping, linen change or cleaning surfaces. $175 for a 7 night stay seems excessive.

Very clean little inn. Kitchen had all necessities. Within walking distance to town and bay trail. Owners communication before and during stay was great. Cute and clean property.
One night neighborhood below was loud.

Friendly staff, nice new pool and deck, clean and comfortable and very chill vibe throughout. Nothing fancy, just a nice place. Lovely views of the harbor from the rooms. Pretty quick walk down the hill into town.
No real “dislikes”. Guests should be aware that it is a big hill and a lot of stairs to walk down - and especially back up - from downtown Charlotte Amalie. For us, it was just a nice way to burn off a few dinner calories but some older or less mobile guests might need to take a taxi.

Had everything you needed in room. Like a small one room apartment.
No hot water.

Super friendly and supportive hosts. Well positioned to visit the island. The room was always clean, with air conditioning (must have!!!) and a good shower. We liked also the swimming pool. Great experience overall, suggested!

The property owners are GEMS. The couple have been there for years and you can tell they are really passionate about their place. We had the loveliest stay in the rooms that were clean and well maintained. I can't recommend this location enough!

The owners were great, during check-in they gave us a little bit of information regarding what is where and how to get there from the Hotel. Our room was clean and ready when we got there, air conditioning was fantastic, the hotel has a nice pool and it is in a nice and quiet hill location.
We don't have anything we didn't like during our stay. If you dont care about luxury, this is the place to be. It doesnt feel like a hotel, it feels like a nice small apt. Which is nice because you can truly just relax, have enough space for your bags, and even watch TV! My fiancée didn't like how soft the bed was, but she didn't mention anything until we left, however, I thought the bed was perfect for me! If you have issues during your stay, definitely let the owners know, so they can correct it. Otherwise, we highly recommend this place.

loved the view from the property. The rooms were large, very clean, very well outfitted with essentials like a wine opener and wine glasses. nice coffee maker and supplies. Gwen and a John were lovely and very helpful.
Not really a negative but just know that the great view comes with a hike down to town. we would walk down and grab a cab back up the hill.

Green Iguana is quaint and charming with an unbeatable sea/island/city view from our room. resident managers were friendly and helpful. the property is unique, not at all a typical hotel, and the well lived in space is clean and comfort with all the basic amenities

Have stayed here before on the beginning or ends of weeklong sailing trips to the BVI. We love the location. It's 11 minutes from the airport and even closer to the Ferry port. It's a short walking distance to the town restaurants and shops. Beautiful views along the way. Loved the new pool addition although we did not get to use given our schedule. Gwen and John (managers) are always more than accommodating! There is a coded gate to enter and exit the property and the grounds are lush with plant and animal life.
The rooms deserve updates in furnishings but are comfortable and clean.
