The property manager and team were fantastic. The layout was very good for a large party. But the property needs some love. Tired, door handles not working, dishwasher was a nightmare and around stove a terrible smell that could not get rid of with Clorox wipes. But had everything you need. Atmosphere was great.

Many of the pictures of this property were inaccurate. It was a little run down, but it looks like they are trying to fix it.

This was a large enough house where 6 families could play and cook together. We made some great memories. Lisa and shayne were always there to answer all questions to make the stay seamless.

Property was terrific for our 14 guests. We did have some issues though: GFI breakers would not reset in downstairs bedroom, toilet in one of the bedrooms kept backing up, dishwasher is kept stopping during cycle. Furniture is comfortable, but pretty worn. Highly recommend if this items are corrected.

High Ridge Manor exceeded our expectations. The house seems unassuming when you first drive up but then you enter into the family room/kitchen and are greeted with an expansive view of the mountains and vineyards in the distance. The house is beautifully furnished and appointed with a well-equipped kitchen. The balcony was perfect for sunrise coffee and sunset cocktails.
Shayne, our host greeted us and oriented us to the property. He even invited us to gather fresh eggs from the unexpected chicken coop across from the house. There was a pen with sheep and goats that would delight any child and some adults. We even saw deer roaming the property.
Overall, it was a great stay.

Tremendous view
The view of the mountains and valleys is something you just can't get tired of. Four of the bedrooms have king beds, large bathtubs, and private patios. We put two kids to sleep in the loft, so this property comfortably sleeps 16. The support staff were very attentive.

Deferred Maintenance
The pictures of the property on the website are better than the actual property. Picked this property especially for the pool, and it did NOT work and was dirty. Pool heater broken. Very disappointing for the kids. Received the money to heat the pool back, but no other credit was given. The refrigerator did not keep the food cold, we were told it just got repaired before we arrived so we had to deal with that on Thanksgiving weekend. In all honesty the house needs to be better maintained for the price they charge.

Lovely house and location. Pool / hot tub needs improvements
Beautiful house. All rooms were clean. Kitchen area was fairly well stocked. Lots of pots, pans, skillets to handle all our cooking needs, though interestingly we could only find one lid. We loved the panoramic view from the deck. Beautiful sunsets every day .
The kids loved the sheep and chickens that live on the premise (in their own enclosed areas).
The pool and hot tub were not prepared for our visit. The pool needs some repair to one of the rails for the pool cover. One of our kids found what looked like a breadstick floating in the pool on our first day. The hot tub on the deck had some mildew. The control panel labels for the hot tub was worn out so would be hard for someone not familiar with this brand to know which button controls what setting. . The temperature button and buttons to one of the jets did not appear to work. The gas heater for the pool didn’t work for one day and was quickly resolved by the owner’s assistant later that same day. While the kids would complain that the pool water was cold every day, it didn’t stop them from playing in the pool practically all day long, so it couldn’t have been THAT cold. 😆
The owner was very responsive to our feedback: hot tub was drained, cleaned, refilled and treated the day after we alerted him to the condition. The pool water was treated per our request. We could not manually adjust the pool/ jacuzzi settings and temperature. This has to be done remotely through the owner. And we had to text him whenever we wanted the pool on/off etc. while he was very responsive, we were not accustomed to such setup.
The house itself and the owner’s responsiveness were 5-stars. But the pool / hot tub conditions dropped our review to 4 (more close to a 3.5). Nonetheless we enjoyed our time and would definitely come back again. Hopefully the pool will be all fixed by then and a better way to allow control of the pool settings by the guest is implemented. Also, Would suggest updating the hot tub on the deck or just decommission it.

The High ridge failure
Sadly this Potentially beautiful property is a total disaster. We stayed here with a large group of friends expecting a luxurious getaway as advertised. From the minute we arrived the home was still being “cleaned” and was never throughly cleaned. Floors and kitchen were disgustingly filthy and we ended up cleaning it ourselves. We had to call multiple times to get the indoors cleaned and finished so we could unpack. The pool was GREEN, slimy and foggy. They supposedly added some chemicals to clean it, but nothing was cleaned. We all left our children early in the am to arrive early enough to enjoy the pool and didn’t get to do that all weekend. Our guys were brushing the walls to remove the algae. Safe to say we never used the pool because it was totally unsanitary. The rooms had bugs, downstairs rooms had broken window fixtures, the window sills in the main living room were covered in an inch of dust and spider webs. Now the grand finale…we woke up our last day to no running water. Apparently something burst and we couldn’t shower, use the bathrooms, etc. some guests took showers on the porch with the hose that had cold running water. Things happen, but an apology would be nice. All we heard were excuses for EVERY SINGLE PROBLEM. I mean the list goes on and on. From when I booked the property owner was beyond disorganized, he would rush me on the phone and say I’ll email it to you now and never got an email I had to follow up multiple times about multiple requests and questions. He made it sound like he had a staff for the property but really just 2 young locals cleaning and trying to maintain the place the best possible. A place this big need an actual cleaning crew, and staff.
The only positive thing that I could say was that the owner was responsive. He answered calls and came to the property when we had the water issue. But the problem was that he had an excuse for everything. We paid a pretty penny for this place and we’re expecting the “luxury” they promised. We got the complete opposite. Save your money and don’t fall for it. Thank god we booked through vrbo and we’re able to get a partial refund, less than what he had initially promised. He stopped responding to my messages about the remainder that he shorted us. This place was a dump with great photos.

Unique property, perfectly designed home and sweeping views.
Fabulous property for a group of adults. Plenty to do on-site, plenty of room for everyone to have their own space and relax, outdoor fire pits, BBQ and pizza oven made our winter nights so enjoyable. Beautiful surroundings, and the amenities in the home are special touches that most rentals do not have, like a well-stocked kitchen, quality linens and soaps. This all outweighs whatever minor cosmetic issues there are In the home. The management was terrific when we called on him during our stay.

Luxurious & functionally great house needing a bit updating
Overall a very good experience for our family of 15. The views are spectacular and the deck was great to hang out on for all 3 sunsets and became a photo spot. The house has 4 jacuzzis in rooms and a "heated" pool with it's own hot tub. However the pool and spa weren't heated well. The kitchen had everything we needed. Pool table did get a few hours of use. Be aware that 2 of the beds are in the attic which has a small spiral staircase and have to climb down for the living area bathroom.
A gripe some had was that the bathroom doors weren't latching very well in more than 1 room. Also be prepared for 2-3 cats that hang outside the house including the patio and if you aren't scared of cats that may be okay. But overall a beautiful large house & location, just don't look for perfection.

Great House in Paso!
My family travels to Paso a few times every year and we have to say this was one of the better houses we have stayed at. The house was clean, large, has great amenities and very well managed. The kids enjoyed the pool and the onsite activities. Great location for adults! Very close to amazing wineries and near restaurants in DT Paso Plenty of space and very homely. Highly recommend for families and large groups looking for a tranquil setting on a great piece of property.

Luxury View - House/Property past its prime
We had a group of 13 people and house accommodations were perfect for that size. Our family had a very nice time and enjoyed the pool & grounds. The views are stunning. We did feel that the description of “Luxury” was a bit overpromising. No Welcome binder in the house, it was very frustrating to try to figure everything out (WiFi, TVs, HVAC) on our own and having to reach out to the property manager multiple times seemed like a nuisance. HVAC doesn’t work in Kitchen/Living Room/Dining Room (main living area) – we understand that there was an issue with the previous guests freezing up the unit but it would have been nice to been informed of this prior to our arrival. It also would have been nice to have been supplied with fans as an option to move the air in those rooms, it was extremely hot. The kitchen and living room get direct sun in the afternoon and made the temperature rise to an unbearable degree when preparing meals. From about 2:00 until 9:00pm those three areas were not livable with the heat. This was by far the biggest issue. Pool had black algae in spa area - not clean and we had paid a $300 pool fee. Elevator & washer and dryer were listed as an amenity but you do not have access to them. It was also very strange to have housecleaning people on the property while we had it rented, it felt as if it was more of a hotel, not a luxury rental house, and this was not disclosed to us. While the housekeepers were very pleasant, I would have appreciated a heads up that this is the way you were running the property as it seems unconventional. One day there were 3 people on the property and our kids were very alarmed and unsure who they were and if they belonged there. They did not clean the house, only were there to do laundry. Seemed strange. Overall the house has a lot of maintenance issues (doors don’t lock, blinds broken, HVAC, etc.) that need to be maintained by someone who has the ability to fix them and the attention to detail. Needs a property manager because it is a spectacular home – just needs more attention. We felt like the property overpromised and we overpaid, due to the current conditions. I sent an email to the owner after we left with some of our concerns and sadly he never reached out to us after our stay. We spent $8000.00 for 4 nights (with no HVAC or fans in the house main living area) and he failed to credit any money back or return an email. We made memories with family but won’t be coming back.

Lots of deferred maintenance issues
This home was beautiful but there were a lot of issues with broken items, run down items, lack of privacy, and overall cleanliness. The manager was dealing with some Covid staffing issues and some personal issues that made it challenging, but for the price per night we paid, the value just wasn’t there. The biggest issue was the temperature upstairs in the bedrooms was uncomfortable since the AC didn’t work on that side of the house - even after the manager attempted to unlock it remotely. The pool was also an issue - it was dirty and needed some long overdue maintenance. We found other people’s trash throughout the property and many broken items. The view was spectacular but not worth the cost to stay there.

Great location for a much needed getaway
The property was a great for group with Kids keeping them endlessly entertained. We had so many plans to visit the wineries and other attractions in the area, but most of us found the house so relaxing we didn't leave the premises.

Perfect retreat
Everyone was very impressed with the beautiful property. The check in process was very easy, the bedrooms were beautiful and none of us could get enough of the view. Unfortunately, we didn’t get much use from the pool given the temperature and the spa was out of service; however there was an additional jacuzzi on the balcony we made use of. Perfect for our retreat!

It is a gorgeous property. A few items were not in working order when we checked in which was a bit of a let down.

Annual wine tasting trip with friends
This was a perfect place to stay for 7 couples who gather in Paso each November. Two full size beds in the loft were still available! Far more great things to comment on than the few items needing attention (double oven didn’t work, fireplace in living room as well, the outside plants on the balcony hadn’t been attended to, furniture was dusty, and the propane tanks weren’t all filled). But seriously a beautiful place with great rooms, beds, views...and two new baby sheep! Loved it!

Some maintenance issues
It was a wonderful place to celebrate our parents 80th birthdays and 60th wedding anniversary! We had to deal with a few things that weren’t working properly and we thought maybe the housekeeping staff could be a little more detail oriented but overall it was a great three days. We really enjoyed the pool and making pizzas in the adjacent pizza oven and of course a pool table is always popular with our family, my mom even learned to play. 🙂

Great family retreat
Property, rooms, wonderful. Very comfortable. Personal preference would be to use microfiber linens only in cool weather...cotton for warm weather, but no big deal. Views beautiful. Amenities great. Small problems w a/c and pool spa unfortunate, bur meridee was vigilant in correcting issues. A really lovely time overall.

High Ridge Manor
Overall had a great experience, beautiful property and home, perfect for a large group. Very clean and felt very safe. Just prior to arrival and once on the property Meridee (sp?), the property manager, was very accommodating and wonderful to work with. The only negative was that the communication over vrbo messaging in the couple months prior to our stay was not very responsive.

Moments and Memories that will last a lifetime
A nearly flawless 50th birthday celebration for my wife. The property is stunning with a nearly endless view augmented by beautiful roses and incredible outdoor cooking options. Sheep, Cats (Frick and Frat) and other animals provide a great atmosphere. The hospitality of Merridee provided a welcoming and great atmosphere. The recommended chef's created flavorful evenings and Lane's recommendations on wineries and restaurants lead to moments and memories that will last a lifetime.

Rustic Chic Wonder!!
My friends and I celebrated a 40th birthday at High Ridge Manor for 3 glorious days. Every minute was wonderful. The home is so gorgeous and you simply cannot beat the views. Meredee (Property Manager) was wonderful to work with and so helpful, friendly, and amazing! Everything about this home is impeccable, down to the amazing beds and sheets. The manor has every amenity you can imagine, and if there is anything missing, you just have to ask! Meredee really went above & beyond to make our stay fantastic. We will definitely be back and highly recommend High Ridge Manor.

Lovely home, lovely view
This was the perfect house for my 15 family members who gathered to celebrate my husband's birthday . The bedrooms are super big, and nicely decorated. The kitchen is huge and is open to the living room, so it is perfect for family conversation while cooking and cleaning. We all enjoyed the game room, the outside hot tub, and we even made pizzas in the outside wood burning pizza oven! It is not that close to downtown, but the drive is beautiful and there is lots of nature to see...deers, bunnies, sheep, goats, frogs and skunks! And Meridee was super responsive to our questions, and gave us a nice tour and explanation of the house when we arrived. Plus she has a super great dog :)

Beautiful property, perfect for large group and wine tasting!
This house is massive and so beautiful. The photos do not do it justice! Each room is a master suite and fit our group of 7 couples perfectly. There's sheep on the property that are so cute. The concierge was very friendly and accommodating. It was centrally located to a ton of wineries. We want to return when there is warmer weather and we can take advantage of all the outdoor amenities!
