A nice house with an awesome view of the lake. Super close to Sunday River for skiing too!

We had a fantastic time here during Februrary vacation (myself, my wife, and our 3.5 year-old). Snowshoeing on the lake was beautiful, and it's hard to imagine a more picturesque spot -- in fact, we had the same view that inspired the "Mountain" logo for LL Bean! It was also really nice being <15 minutes away from both Mt. Abram and Bethel. The kitchen was very well-equipped and we were able to cook all our own meals with no trouble.

We've been a repeat visitor to this cottage on the pond. It's adorable and the host is great. Love the pond location with canoes/kayaks, hanging on the porch and the firepit. House was very clean! And easy to get to Bethel and Sunday River. Will definitely stay again!

My family and I enjoyed a great trip to this property. The waterfront location and lake access were perfect, and having a canoe, kayak, and SUP all available for use made it even better. The house was very well-supplied with other amenities too including books, magazines, games, cooking utensils, etc. We typically over-pack those types of things but didn't need any of it. Away from the property there are several great hikes within a pretty quick drive, and the town of Bethel has some nice shops, restaurants, breweries, and other attractions. It's a great area all-around.
The road noise was admittedly a factor - as stated by others - especially because there was some road construction immediately adjacent to the house during our time there. However, that was completely out of anyone's control, and it didn't bother us much once we settled in.

This was a nice clean cabin that we rented almost last minute after another owner cancelled. The location is great. Just steps from a good sized pond. We were visited everyday by friendly ducks. As others have said, there is some road noise, especially in the bedroom that faces that direction, but a fan helps to drown out the noise. It's probably not a problem in the winter when the windows are closed. Be prepared to bring linens and towels and some basic supplies like hand soap and paper towels as the owner doesn't provide them.

The family and I were comfortable, we were able to have some great family time. We enjoyed the fire pit, board games and the easy access to the water. The only con was the road noise and construction right in front of the road for two days…but that is completely out of the owners hands.

Cozy and well equipped
Our family of four enjoyed our winter stay. The cottage is cozy and well cared for, with a wood burning stove and a well-stocked kitchen. It’s a short drive into nearby Bethel and convenient to skiing at Sunday River (15-20 minutes). Sharron was responsive and the check in/out process was easy. My only suggestion would be to consider a binder with some information about the house that guests may need - wifi info, directions for wood burning stove, nearby restaurants and grocery stores, etc. We would stay here again.

Peaceful week
My family enjoyed a peaceful and relaxing week at this sweet little lake house. Simplify but comfortably appointed, it was just what we needed. The boating options were terrific for time on the water, and the dock, porch and fire pit area were lovely for lounging and sunset-watching. As others have noted, there is noise from route 26 but no big deal - it was like white noise at most. We enjoyed it immensely.

Just what we needed
This camp was everything we wanted! I would 100% not hesitate to book this adorable camp in the future. The house was clean and beautiful. The sunsets were amazing every night! We played games and sat around the fire. Sitting on the back porch you have such a beautiful view at all times. There is a gigantic rock a little ways out that you can canoe, kayak, or paddle board, (all provided!) to and the island beside the rock has an eagles nest so we got to see some pretty close! The kids loved everything as well. I highly recommend this camp and another great thing is the owner is very informative, kind and super quick at responding to any questions. We will return!!

Perfect base for our fly fishing explorations
We loved the location. Right on the pond so we could hear the loons at night and got to watch a bald eagle during the day. The light that bounces off the pond into the living room was stunning.
As mentioned, there is road noise but it comes to an end at night and the pond comes alive.
The cabins had everything we needed ( bring your own sheets/ towels) to enjoy a long stay. Kitchen was perfect for cooking and two comfortable sofas for reading and napping.
Should we return to the area again, we would elect to stay here.

Great camp for skiing at Sunday River
We loved the adorable and cozy cabin and would definitely return. It was perfect for our family of 4. Under 20 minutes to Sunday River, some great food options close by.

A hidden gem that was better than expected
The pictures on the website does this place no justice. It’s was so cute and Adorable. The place was absolutely clean and the woodstove was amazing. It was big enough for two families with plenty of room. They had everything you needed and more. We were able to walk and drive on the frozen lake. We skied literally two minutes down the road but they were several other ski resorts within a 30 mile radius. We would absolutely go back in the winter and look forward to renting this place in the summer. I highly recommend it.

Beautiful place, a bit too noisy
Beautiful place, close to water, great host. The only thing is that it's next to a busy road and it's never really quiet outside.

Two very short days
My 3 granddaughters and I had a great time at the "camp". The girls really enjoyed the kayak, canoe and paddle boat. The camp had everything we needed and the beds were very comfortable. I asked Sharron for good weather and we had it. What a lady!
Thank you Sharron,
Paul

Cozy and quaint
This property was great and very convenient for a ski trip. Very rustic and old school - no TV - which made it nice for the group to unplug. Once call out is the stairs leading up to the house were very slick and icy given the wintery conditions and we couldn't find salt, so had to purchase that to ensure the group didn't slip.

Nice cottage, setting, and location; just a few things to consider.
The cottage, the setting and the location were all very nice, and we all (two adults and four kids) enjoyed our week there. The cottage is a perfect mix of rustic and homey, and though it’s modest in size, its layout made it easy for the six of us to prepare meals, relax and entertain ourselves without feeling crowded or in each other’s way.
As long as casual paddling, swimming and fishing are your speed (which are for us), the pond (feels more like a lake) is ideal - not too big, and not too small. There are some nice canoeing/kayaking destinations that make for nice adventures - including a family of Bald Eagles nesting on one of the islands. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that there were hardly any power boats on the water - 2 or 3 sightings all week.
With all the benefits of the cottage, there are a few things that you do need to be aware of. For example, the proximity of Rt. 26, as pointed out in other reviews, is really pretty close to the cottage and lake’s edge, and yes as pointed out in other reviews car and truck noise is present. Rt. 26 isn’t a major highway, but there is fast moving traffic that can be heard and seen from the dock. I was able to ignore the noise after the first day, but my wife had a harder time of it. Also, there are train tracks on the other side of 26, and on at least a few nights during the week freight trains blowing their horns rumbled by at 11:00pm and 3:30am - waking and scaring members of our family. So, if you have light sleepers with you, you should be aware of this.
The sleeping arrangements have 4 bunk beds (2 sets of 2) and a full size bed in one large bunk room and separate bedroom on the second floor. Given the “rustic” nature of the cottage, the bunk room isn’t very well isolated from the dish washing noise and conversations downstairs. Again, not a deal-breaker, but something to be aware of when thinking about the fit for your family - for some this will not be an issue, for other with sleep issues, you should be aware.
Finally, in the spirit of being aware… there is no dishwasher or laundry on site. We used the laundry facilities at the camp ground on the other side of Rt. 26. Again, just some things to keep in mind when planning.
All-and-all, it was very nice stay.

Wonderful week but would not rent this camp again.
The porch was wonderful and it was a relaxing stay. The large rock in the middle of the pond is also wonderful for jumping off of. We had a wonderful week, after two of us spent considerable time cleaning mouse droppings out of the cupboard, washing dishes, cleaning sticky surfaces and changing out a dirty shower curtain. We were also disappointed that the dock is not deep enough to jump off of and the area in front of the camp is not great for swimming because it’s mucky. The fire pit was nice, the sunsets were beautiful and the pond was clean. We adjusted, used kayaks to get to the large rock so the kids could swim out there and read on the lovely porch seat. It was a great week but we would not book this place again. In addition, we are certain we left the key but the owner charged us for not leaving the key.

Perfect place for an escape!
We had a great 5 days at the cottage. It was a perfect size for my family of 4 plus two grandparents. We enjoyed having no TV and played lots of games but we would heave liked the option of Wifi to be able to work on-the-go if needed. The kids enjoyed the canoe and rock island, we enjoyed the porch and the sunset over the pond. There was everything we needed in the way of kitchen items, games and water toys. There is street noise, as they mention, but nothing that we didn't get over very quickly. :) We'd definitely come back!

Relaxation and Restoration
This lakeside cottage gave relaxation and restoration. The cleanliness and ease walking into the cottage for our stay gave us that. Everything we needed was there. The natural surroundings, mountains, water, beautiful animal life is tranquil. The moment we booked the cottage and all the ease of information for our stay was so helpful especially for a first time user of VRBO. Thank you.

Great getaway.
The cottage was adorable with everything needed for a rustic getaway. The lake was great for swimming with the rock island and my husband caught a 5lb bass. He was over the moon! Road noise was noticeable. We loved the surrounding area and had great food and amazing pies from puzzle mountain bakery.

Beautiful and cozy cottage that my family loved!
This is a gorgeous cottage on a beautiful spot. The kids loved jumping off the dock into the warm water and the beach was perfect for launching our kayaks and the canoe. The sunsets across the pond were so beautiful and you can even watch them from inside the living room. The cottage itself was perfection and fully equipped with everything necessary to cook and feel at home. Be prepared for a lot of noise from mac trucks on the road, as they were pretty constant and very loud. This did not take away from the quality of our vacation at all. Also, check to be sure you have cell phone coverage our phones did not work (not a bad thing!). Overall we had a lovely vacation and wished the home was ours!

Great little cottage on Bryant Pond!
My husband and I stayed here for a few nights as part of our honeymoon in mid-October. The owner was excellent with communicating with us and even called me before our stay to let us know that the summer had been dry and there was a possibility of the water running out during our stay(the cottage runs on well water). The water did run out on our last night there, but we had jugs of water from the spring down the road to use so it was no issue. It was a little chilly during our visit so it was nice to have the wood stove in the living room; we had a few fires during the night and would sit by it playing some of the many games provided in the cottage. The location is great as it is right on the pond and is not too far from town or Sunday River Resort (which I assume many people go to when they are in that area). There is hiking near by and lots of things to do if you want to leave the coziness of the cottage! I would recommend this place to friends and family and may even stay here again if we visit family in Maine next year!

Back to my childhood.
wonderful cottage on the lake. We had delightful weather and enjoyed our stay. Our family came from the other end of the lake in their motor boat towing 7 blow up floats & rafts. They wondered what was taking so long....a cinder block attached to the last raft as an anchor. We had lots of fun in the sun and enjoyed the paddle boat. Many memories as my family rented this cottage when I was a child & I also stayed with my young children.

Long-lasting Memories (A+)
I've visited this house with my own family and with friends' families multiple times over many years. Every time we enjoy the small cottage feeling on the lake no matter what time of the year. As a kid, the bunk beds were the best part and always what I looked forward to, although the paddle boat my be a close winner. Now as a young adult, I look forward to the homey feeling sitting around the fire (outdoor or indoor!) at night sipping hot chocolate and enjoying the serenity of Maine. The owner always makes this an easy getaway and has the house in great condition and clean when we arrive.

Mixed review
We stayed at this cottage in July of 2010. Yes, 2010. Strange that I'm just now writing a review but I was just looking for rental property in the area again and found this page. The cottage is super cute. Just as pictured. We loved that about it. The mudroom is fab and the kitchen is wonderful. The beds are comfortable too. We are a family of 4 and at the time had a 10 yr old and a 2 yr old. While the cottage it self is great there are some factors that the owner can not control that if we had known we (with young kids) would not have rented here. It was our worst vacation by far. The July we visited was blistering. The cottage was SO hot we had to keep the kids up well into the night to get any rest as there was zero breeze. I believe at the time the cottage had one fan ( or did we bring one?) If we weren't roasting we were kept up by the noise. You can not be downstairs and even whisper w/out everyone upstairs hearing you. The cottage while it says it has 2 bedrooms (I believe a bedroom has to have a door on it to be considered a bed room). This cottage has a huge loft area at the top of the stairs. The one bedroom ( with a door) is off the loft next to the bathroom. The cottage is VERY close to Rt. 26. We were kept up late into the night by Harley Davidson Riders with their loud bikes screaming at top speed down Rt. 26. If it wasn't the motorcycles it was the neighbors to the left ( if you are facing the lake). They had a huge family reunion and were up late whooping hollering and drinking & yelling swears across the lake and up early doing the same.
None of these things are in the control of the owner-I understand that but they all added up to a sleep deprived vacation and little quiet. We were joking that it was a miracle that the few seconds of silence we heard in between the neighbors and motorcycles that we even heard the loons.
So my sum up for this place is CUTE as a button-perfect for families with teens or older kids that all go to bed and rise at the same time. Great boats, dock for fishing and blueberry bushes off the side of the house. Location-questionable and risky. Glad to read others did not have the same experience we did. Although we're only the 3rd review.....?

Cozy Cottage on Bryant Pond
Wow! The 4 of us (all adults) had a fabulous stay at this cottage. The weather was perfect, and the lake water just right for swimming. We never got in the car to go anywhere. The cabin was just right in many ways - kitchen well equipped, great windows for letting in lots of fresh (great zzzzzzs in comfy beds), late afternoon sunsets on the front porch were spectacular (the lake a sea of diamonds), and loved the loons and canoe expeditions. We had next to no mosquitoes until dark. We are already talking about a return visit. Thanks!

What a fantastic place!
We were excited to stay here, and we had a wonderful time! The cottage is just as it looks in the pictures, and the upstairs area is very nice with lots of sleeping space! The family of ducks was quite friendly, as were the chipmunks:) We saw and heard loons frequently and enjoyed a lot of time in the canoe (provided) fishing in the lakes (so many areas to fish-- many are linked and you can just work your way to all kinds of different areas). Just my husband and me were there for a week in June, but you could really easily sleep 8 upstairs, no problem, so a whole group of people could go. We loved it!!! It's also only 25 miles or so from awesome hiking in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, and there's just so much to do in the area if you love the outdoors. If it rains (which it did for 2 days while we were there), you can just stay inside by the fire, play games and read and relax, and take in the view from all the windows. We had a great time!
