Une ambiance familiale et conviviale.

Friendly people, place well organized and kept clean, best location in Melbourne.
Horrible machine noise in room every night.

The best hostel I've stayed in so far. This is mostly down to the friendly and welcoming atmosphere that starts from the owner Matt and extends to everyone I met. It feels more like a big sharehouse than a hostel. The 5 bed dorm I was in was spacious with lots of storage and comfortable beds. Common areas were comfortable and clean, but a bit of a squeeze if everyone was around at once. Movie nights and family dinners were such a nice touch. I wish I had stayed longer and I'll definitley be booking again when I'm back in Melbourne.
The only thing that bothered me was the cleanliness of the bathrooms. Not filthy but consistently dirty floors.

really social hostel
friendly atmosphere
no curtain for top bunks but that’s luck of the draw and you can move if one becomes available

the people were nice and the area was lively.
the manager Matt was a strange and very unhelpful character. I would not stay again because of him

I loved this hostel. I personally think it was one of the best I have been.
The staff was superb. Starting at check-in when Virgine showed me around nicely. Also the other staff (Redd and Ezra) are amazing people who make you feel welcome the moment you enter the hostel.
Moreover, the living room and the backyard is a big hangout spot to meet new crowds and build friendships, with for me as a solo traveler is one of the most important things.
I enjoyed the stay so much that I extended twice.
Thank you so much!
The only thing I can think of: The WiFi needs a do-over.

Best hostel I've stayed in. Feels more like a house share rather than a hostel. Always clean, the staff are super friendly. Virgie always has a smile and is always around to help out whenever you need it. Brunswick is a cool area to live in, couldn't ask for more. Landing Pads is a home away from home

Halloooo. The best hostel in Melbourne by far it is like no other. The kitchen and bathrooms are cleaned every day. Virgie is a real schatzi - she is always approachable and happy to help anyone.

The staffs were helpful. They cleaned the public area every day and made the place really comfortable. There were many events every night, got to know people. The room was nice too. The location was great, close to tram station.

everything! it’s a really well run hostel and it has a family vibe everyone was soo nice even though I’m really socially awkward, they have a lot going on so if your a solo traveller it’s nice to be able to do stuff with people, it is clean and the free food shelf in the kitchen is a really good idea! room was big and had lockers in and plenty of space to put clothes and bits. two outdoor areas one which is quiet and one which you can use to smoke etc.

Everything. In my two weeks here I’ve made some friends for life. Everyone is so welcoming, there’s daily activities on to get everyone in the hostel involved, I’ve never enjoyed staying somewhere so much. I’m actually devastated to be leaving to my own apartment, but I’ll be back as a guest on the regular. The staff are amazing, and just friends like everyone else here. I couldn’t say anything other than amazing things for this place. There’s a reason people have stayed here for so long, it’s fantastic.

Amazing vibe! Such like minded and friendly people domestically, locally and internationally. A family like atmosphere. Fantastic location in Brunswick right next to Sydney road. Would highly recommend

Incredible vibes; a real familial, hostel-like experience right in a nook of Brunswick!

Matt, the owner, is a very honest and nice person. Very dynamic person who always know the way to make your day comfortable (pastry, family dinner, movie nights, etc)
no cons

friendly people. good sized balcony.
messy rooms, very squeaky floors, squeaky bed was on top bunk, if you move slightly or too much bottom bunk might’ve gotten frustrated at you.

The hostel was in the perfect location of trendy Brunswick, and the rooms and facilities have EVERYTHING you need. If you do need something, Manager Matt goes out of his way to help. The best part of the Hostel though is the vibe; the staff and other guests make it feel like home. Awesome job guys!
The only thing that is a bit annoying is that the cleaning of the kitchen starts at 9am, which is not a great time if you are planning on getting out early. Otherwise a fantastic hostel :)

So great to find a hostel in Melbourne that has managed to keep the backpacker/traveller vibe alive. This place really feels like a home, and love all the people I have met here! There’s always evenings planned to get involved with, and everyone is so welcoming. Would recommend for travellers who like to meet new exciting people! Also as a solo female traveller, this is the safest I have felt in a new place
No. Really loved everything about my stay here!

Landingpads is a hostel with shared bedrooms and facilities, I did not expect 5 star accommodation. I received a comfortable bed. The room was not overcrowded. (3 in an 8 bed room); good social distancing. The building is old, so creaky floorboards etc, quite charming. The bathrooms (3) were very clean. The kitchen was very clean. Food is self prepared. 2 cooktops, an oven and a microwave. Separate storage for food is provided, and is very effective. Bathrooms and kitchens are cleaned daily at regular times. The staff are really friendly, after a day I felt as if I was visiting friends.
People wash up and put away their own dishes used in cooking and eating. Tea towels are replaced daily, possibly more, tea towels are needed. The hostel is only suitable for able bodied people.

The property had a outdoor clothes drying area with clothes line. The outdoor clothes drying area was lead by a door which gets locked. To re enter a code needs to be entered. When you enter this code provided by the property the door does not get open . I was locked once and tried to enter the code which I was told to enter by the property, unfortunately the door did not open. I had to continuously tap on the door and another resident guest heard the tapping and opened the door. The guest stated to me that the code starts with another number than the number actually stated by the property.
Should this door be locked and there is a situation requiring emergency evacuation the guest gets trapped without any safe exit - which can cause a harrowing tragedy.
Staff always irritable natured, dislike answering guest queries .

While paying for my reservation the staff wanted me to cancel my reservation with Booking.com and instead book my reservation directly through them. The staff shows me on a laptop that with booking.com I shall pay 69; if I book directly through them I shall pay 60.
Extremely unethical business practices. Using booking.com platform to attract guests to make a reservation and once you arrive at the property continuously persuade them to cancel their reservation with Booking.com and book with them directly.
Unacceptable level of annoyance. Extremely high level of unethical practice.
I strongly recommend guests to hold on to your booking with booking.com and if such excessive persuasion to cancel your reservation with booking.com occurs - to report to booking.com as well.
Unwashed dishes all around the kitchen during night - attracting flies. Extremely unhygienic kitchen especially during a public health crisis.
