Beautiful cottage on clean pristine lake. Cottage has everything you need. Great location for day trips to mountains and ocean. Or just enjoy the lake, swimming, fishing or kayaking.

The property itself is beautiful and serene! Larry and Carol’s kindness and hospitality made the stay that much more wonderful. Our children were able to make core memories with their cousins swimming in the lake, canoeing, and roasting marshmallows by the fire. Thank you both for a wonderful time!

We rented Carol’s cabin in Maine to attend a friend’s wedding. We loved how we were able to enjoy nature and also experience local amenities just a few miles down the road. Wonderful experience!

relaxing and centrally located for our planned activities

The place is very beautiful, They had a lot of outdoor activities, such as kayaking, canoeing, fishing access and swimming. Need your own fishing gear. The internet was non existent with no WiFi. Tv channels were non cable - just local. Only other outside entertainment we found was the casino. Property was pleasant with flowers, birds and landscaping.
Perfect spot for getting away from the everyday stress. A great place for outdoor activities with pease and quiet.

Spent a quiet week at Eagle's Nest near Oxford. We (who are both in our 80s) did not take advantage of the canoe or kayak, but both were there had we wanted. Larry and Carol are gracious hosts who live next door but your space is yours and overlooks Larry's pretty garden...his other love. The apartment is (as described) up 16 steps over the garage...something to consider if you have mobility issues. The apartment has a very comfortable queen bed in the separate bedroom and a nice open plan living room/kitchen. Do note that there is no Internet service in the apartment. Most guests (but not us) use their Verizon hotspot connections. There is reliable LTE service and occasional 5G. The Oxford Casino is about a mile away, but we didn't go there. Because Eagles Nest is on a well maintained dirt road (about 1/2 mile in from the paved road) there is very little traffic - mostly cars going in and out from the 10-15 cottages along the Green Pond shoreline.

My wife and I truly enjoyed our stay at Eagle's Nest (EN) on Green Pond. It is a small, peaceful pond that attracts you to the options of swimming, canoeing, kayaking, and reading by the shore. The unit is cozy and camp-like with all the necessary amenities related to relaxing and cooking. The view of the pond through the woods was a welcome sight each morning. Outside the unit there are plenty of options such as decks, a dock, and a firepit to enjoy the outdoors. We gladly used them all. On rainy days you can travel to nearby towns (e.g., Norway, Bridgeton, Portland, etc.) to shop, browse, and enjoy their local cusine. We especially enjoyed Portland with its historical sites and waterside restaurants. EN is a vacation gem in the woods of Oxford. We will be back.

Our 9 day stay was wonderful. Very secluded and quiet property with a wonder view of the lake and nestled deep in the trees. Inside accommodations were excellent with everything you needed (but no WIFI which was not a bad thing!). Highly recommended and the price was very affordable!

I looked and looked for a place that was near the water and mountains. and Eagle's Nest didn't disappoint. The apartment was perfect for the two of us. We could see the pound (more of a lake actually) from the dining area window and it was an easy walk down to the water. If you like to take walks there is a path that leads back to the main road where there was a lot of autumn color. The apartment was stocked with everything we needed. Our hosts Carol and Larry gave us excellent ideas as to where to go to for leaf peeping and to see covered bridges. There are also several towns nearby with great hiking paths. I would also recommend Cyndi's dinner in Portland for a great meal and drinks. I wish we didn't leave half way across the country or I would return here every Autumn

Just when we thought our wedding was the most perfect thing we experienced, we stayed here for 9 days for our honeymoon. Beautiful place, serene location, privacy and amenities. Everything we wanted. The hosts were very kind and sweet. The proximity to the lake and town (for essentials and food) were great. Far enough to enjoy nature, close enough to buy food and get it home before it got cold. Wouldn't change a thing 😊

This was our second time staying at Eagles Nest. The property is very well kept. Carol and Larry are wonderful hosts. We enjoyed kayaking on the lake. The water was warm and clear. Peaceful just sitting on the deck overlooking the lake. Visited Oxford Casino. Took a ride to the coast if Portland about 50 minutes away. Hope to go back again soon.

If you are looking for the perfect place to decompress from everyday life, this retreat is it. Eagles Nest provides a cozy place to relax by providing the right outdoor amenities. They include outdoor seating for eating and chilling under the trees, a fire pit to enjoy the nighttime sounds, a small dock for reading or soaking up the sun, and a sandy pond for swimming and kayaking. In addition, Eagles Nest is near Norway, Freeport, and Portland to shop, dine, and experience the ocean shore. My wife and I loved relaxing at Green Pond during our week-long stay!

Peaceful and Relaxing
My wife and I had a great time (as always) on Green Pond. The accommodations were just right for the two of us. Everything was provided for cooking (e.g., utensils, cookware, and even a Webber grill) and your comfort (e.g., bed, furniture, and table by the window with a view of the pond). Outside the cabin, there were tables with umbrellas and chairs on a ground-level deck. Another deck was located down by the dock. It made an excellent place for reading, napping, and happy hour. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the fire pit, which we enjoyed every night. The location was also ideal, being close to Portland, Freeport, and the While Mountains. We really enjoyed our stay. We look forward to our next visit.

A quiet,restful relaxing vacation
This is a very quiet, and relaxing place to stay. There are some small boats to row on the water, outside fireplace to enjoy and a patio w/umbrella and table for eating outside overlooking the pond.
The camp is spotlessly clean with everything needed for food peparation. You will not find a more peaceful place to enjoy.

Absolutely Divine
It was very relaxing, it was the step away from everything that's been going on during 2020 that we needed. We were able to leave the property refreshed and relaxed. We plan on coming back!

Peaceful and serene
Our stay at Eagle's Nest was such a pleasure. The cabin had beautiful views, and two decks - one right outside the cabin with lake views, and one right at lakeside. Our hosts were gracious and the cabin was well stocked with anything we might need to cook. The cabin was immaculate and comfortable. It was exactly what we needed - a peaceful retreat in the midst of beautiful scenery. Definitely recommend!

A great week-long getaway!
We just got home from a great week at the eagles nest! We enjoyed being steps from the water and making full use of the 2 kayaks, canoe and floating dock. I caught and released some monster bass and we cooked a lot of good meals in the well-equipped kitchen. Carol and Larry were great hosts and we would certainly recommend the house to anyone looking for an affordable getaway.

Eagles Nest on Green Pond
This property was fantastic. The apartment looked brand new. It was comfortably furnished, simply decorated, the bed was so comfortable. As soon as I arrived, I felt welcomed. They have a fun doorbell that made me chuckle. The pond was quiet and peaceful. Never heard a boat motor. There were kayaks and a canoe to use. The water was so clear you could see the fish swimming. My grandson caught several. Kept just one. My first thought when I walked into the apartment was, I want to live here forever. I highly recommend this property. Thank you, C and L

We couldn’t be more happy with our stay. The weather was beautiful. The Fishing was great! It was nice to kayak with no motorboats and nice to relax not listening to them all day. The cottage was spotless. Will look to go back next year. Absolutely, will recommend to friends and family!

A perfect vacation getaway in Maine!
Larry and Carol are wonderfully hospitable, friendly and accommodating hosts and The Eagle's Nest is a perfect spot for a vacation getaway! We escaped from the busy city of Montreal, Quebec and found a gem at The Eagle's Nest. It was so peaceful, relaxing and quiet. Everyday we loved to listen to the owls hooting, the rooster crowing at dawn somewhere on the other side of the pond, the birds chirping, and the breeze blowing through the trees. We enjoyed swimming and kayaking in the crystal clear and warm water of the pond. We explored the many little towns of Oxford County. We drove to Scarborough to go to the ocean and beach comb for shells, stopping on the way at Len & Libby's to see the life-sized chocolate moose and at Ken's Place for fried clams & shrimp and baked scallops. After checking out on our last morning, we headed to the Cafe Nomad in Norway for an amazingly delicious breakfast (and tasty assortment of coffees) and then perused the local shops on Main Street for a treasure to take home as our keepsake of the trip. The vacation was perfectly memorable and restful, and we will definitely come back to The Eagle's Nest again!

We absolutely enjoy the Eagles Nest.. my husband and I and my two teenage sons had a wonderful time.. Just relaxing, fishing, swimming very quiet location.. The owners Carol and Larry were very Pleasant and accommodating... The loft was Immaculate and enough room for the four of us.. We visited Old Orchard Beach , Portland's old Port and Maine Wildlife Park.. At night we'd watch movies on the DVD player or have a fun game of Trivial Pursuit .. Would love to stay here again.. Amazing
Our trip could only be described as perfect. We spent a week at Eagle's Nest and we would not have changed a thing. Our Cabin looked brand new and was immaculate. We had everything we needed from linens and towels to cooking and baking supplies. The lake was crystal clear and quiet, and at the end of the day we could have our meals outside undisturbed. Carol and Larry were very attentive but also kept to themselves. We can not wait to return to this relaxing location.

Lovely retreat with everything you need to "get away"!
My husband and I escaped to Eagle's Nest for a week and had a fantastic time. The cottage is pristine and very well equipped with anything you would need for the week. The kitchen is especially well stocked for all cooking needs. The views are beautiful and the location is quite private but close enough to town for shopping or dinner out. We highly recommend this property!

Cozy home away from home 😊
My boyfriend, his daughter and I stayed here for a week and was not disappointed at all. The house was just the right size for the three of us and was fully stocked with everything you need and more. Comfy bed and the breeze coming off the water made for comfortable sleeping conditions. The pond is right out our front door with kayaks, canoe, paddle boat and a dock to dive into some of the cleanest, clearest water I've ever seen. Carol and Larry were very hospitable and welcoming. Will most likely book another week in summers to come.
Highly recommend this place for couples looking for a quiet , relaxing get away .

Perfect Vacation
We loved our stay at The Eagles Nest. The accommodations were exactly as advertised. We had everything we needed. The smell of the pine trees and the view of the pond was wonderful. We enjoyed swimming in the crystal clear water. There were antique stores and flea markets close by to explore. Carol and Larry were friendly and everything was beautifully maintained. We would stay here again.

INCREDIBLE VIEWS AND STAY
Unfortunately we were there for such a short stay! Carol and Larry were very nice to meet and look forward to seeing them again. The swimming, paddleboating and relaxing below on dock was refreshing to do and enjoy. Upon leaving we were trying to figure out our schedule to stay again before the season ends. The water was very clean for swimming and a nice sandy bottom. The Eagles Nest was very clean and pretty much everything within to cook etc. The bed was very comfortable and views from the window nice to wake up to. If your looking for a quiet getaway this is the place to stay. Highly recommend for a romantic getaway . Just feet away from a private beach maybe have a fire end of night after a day of traveling.

A special place!
This is a very special place. While cell/internet capabilities are limited (you can use an I-Phone as a "hot spot" for an I-Pad), it provides a nice opportunity to be "disconnected" for a few days - something we all need. The location is ideal, proving easy access to numerous tourist/recreational areas on the central coast and the lower lakes region of Maine. Most importantly, the Eagles Nest is a spotless, comfortable, well equipped home away from home. The view to the pond from the sitting area is magnificent. The garden atmosphere is beautiful. For those who like the water - I have never seen such a clean, clear pond/lake - there is easy access to the water, a nice Old Town Canoe, and a sandy, safe swimming area. The hosts were attentive to our comfort and I look forward to our next visit.

Peaceful, crystal-clr pond, immaculate small cabin
A little piece of paradise. Beautiful surroundings and site - the pungent smell of the forrest!; crystal-clear very small lake (canoe and paddle boat provided); very clean and well-maintained small cabin with all necessary amenities (remember : very small tv though, just a few TV stations, no wifi; but we knew this ahead so it is not a complain! :) ).
Carol and Larry, the owners, live on the same land, in the big house near the cabin, but are very discreet, and the landscaping is well done so you don't feel too close : beautiful tall trees, plants, flowers; two private decks to eat, read or just quietly watch the crystal-clear pond. The owners are really nice and helpful, while very discreet and not imposing. Ask them for advices, for ex. if you have hiking plans in the area - they know all the right directions (some hiking sites are extremely hard to find).
45-60 min. drive to beautiful Portland; 20-30 drive to grocery store. Nearby friendly "Maine Book store" on route 26 where we bought many (used) books. Very quiet county, beautiful little town of Norway nearby, beautiful nature.
Very restful vacation! Thank you!
