It’s difficult to describe how nice our stay in Fes was. This house is magical. Communication with Christophe was easy, and he even set up a ride for us to Volubilis (must-see). Just be sure that the taxi driver understands the price you’ll pay before you head anywhere, in case of miscommunication. We could watch/listen to the call to prayer in the morning and evening. Stunning. Fati was there to meet us and walk us up through the winding “streets” of Fes (about 5 min) to the riad. What’s more, simply put, Fati’s home-cooked meals were the favorite food of our entire week in Morocco. Thank you, thank you, thank you! We will return!

After a short taxi ride arranged by the owners, we were met by our charming local host, Laurence who, with the help of a porter led us through the myriad back alleys of the medina to a lovely house. The next day a young woman prepared us breakfast, and when we asked, a yummy dinner. Other than the initially off-putting state and smells of the area which one gets used to very quickly, it was a great stay. Manyn thanks especially to Laurence.

I can't say enough good things about this place. It was absolutely stunning with a beautiful terrace. The floors have been done like some of the palaces we visited and the antique doors and furniture were gorgeous. The kitchen was small but had everything needed if you wanted to cook. We didn't have to cook because we paid for dinner which was absolutely delicious and lasted us two nights. Every morning a sweet girl came and made us a fresh breakfast of fruit, eggs, crepes and other things. She served us coffee and tea and cleaned up as well. It was so wonderful not to have to worry about all that! Another lady Laurence came and checked in on us every morning before we ventured out which was nice because we could ask any questions that we had. It was walkable to the Medina and all tourist attractions. We did rent a car to take us to the lookout but everywhere else we walked. There is heat and air in the bedrooms and dining area. The showers are nice and bedrooms are roomy. Our bed was quite firm but our daughters bed was soft. There are 16 steep and tall steps to the bedrooms and more to the washer and dryer and terrace. But it was worth it. It is by a school so we interrupted a few soccer games lol. It is down a short alley that is quite dark at night. The only complaint I had about this stay was when we went to shower the towels were wet. Not damp, wet. We couldn't dry off with them so had to throw them in the dryer and wait. But rent this place if you stay in Fes! You won't regret it.

Property from inside is good, but it is smack in the middle of the medina so beware of people trying to take advantage of you. All points of interest at walking distance. Fes is overall noisy and polluted if you stay inside the medina. Little bit overwhelming.

Lovely traditional Dar in Fes Medina
Staying at Dar Seffah was an amazing experience made even better by the hosts (Laurence and Bernard). They went out of their way to welcome us (at 1:00 am), set us up with maps of the Medina, gave excellent restaurant recommendations and helped organize our excursions. The dar itself was lovely. Very traditional but with lots of modem touches and amenities. The roof deck was an amazing way to end the day and relax. The breakfasts prepared every morning by Miriam were delicious and the perfect way to start the day. If you decide to take a tour, asking the hosts to organize a driver and ask for Mohammed. He took us on two outings and was a wonderful guide. All in all, we highly recommend Dar Seffah for any stay in Fes, especially if it's your first time visiting.

A beautiful home in authentic Fes.
We loved our stay in Dar Seffah. It is a beautiful home in the medina. The neighborhood is authentic Fes. None or the cheap tourist. That you find near the Blue Gate. Laurence was warm and helpful and the woman she hired cooked a large delicious breakfast every morning.

Super helpful
Our host, Laurence, was super helpful. It took us some time to get in to the house, but once in, we found the house spacious and comfortable. The daily breakfast was a nice touch. Couple of niggly bits: with a faulty WC, which they are going to fix, and no shower screen, which meant the floor on one bathroom was wet after showering.

Perfect Traditional Morocco
This house met all of the needs for our family of 5, including 3 small children. Being 5 minutes from the tanneries and parking, but nestled well within the Medina, it was perfectly positioned for walking with our little ones. The house provided ample space for the children to play. The breakfasts were large and delicious. The dinner that we had prepared for our arrival was large, delicious and exactly what we needed after a long day of travel. Our host was wonderfully friendly and warm, but most of all she was helpful when we needed it most. All of us felt perfectly at-home in this traditional Moroccan home.

Bien être et convivialité
Quel accueil!

Excellent Stay- Strongly Recommend
We would like to express our sincere gratitude with the hospitality shown on our first visit to Morocco.
We were extremely impressed with the exceptional service provided by Laurence and her team especially as we had visited in the month of Ramadhan.
We will definitely be visiting Fes again and strongly recommend Dar Seffah.

We had an extended stay recently at Dar seffah in Fez. Now that we are back in Europe, we miss it a lot. This has been one of the best stays we had. The house has every convenience imaginable. My wife was very impressed with the high quality of the appliances and the attention to detail by the owners, who happen to live nearby. Laurence is genuinely caring, friendly and at the same time very professional. Everything was catered for!
If all this was not enough, they also arranged to shop and deliver the groceries for us - this was above and beyond service which we are very grateful for. Hope to go back to Dar Seffah. Highly recommended!!!

our palace in Fes
We visited Fes for almost a week while we stayed in the Dar. When we arrived a taxy was waiting for us to bring us to the Medina of Fes. (we emailed the owners for this)
When we arrived we were welcomed at the taxi stand by Laurence, one of the owners. She brought us to our little palace. The house is fantastic. The view magnificient. Laurence came by every day to check if we were allright and she gave us a lot of information, tips. Very very friendly people who live a block further.
Everymorning, when we were still in our bed a very nice lady came in to make our breakfast. Fruit, coffee, eggs, drinks, various kind of bread were offered. After the breakfast she left and there was a total privacy.
We visited Fes with our to suns of 10 and 12 years old. For them it was an unforgettable experience as well. Near the Dar there is a small courtyard were they played football every night with their new friends.
Fes is impressive, the souks, the narrow streets. It is great to walk for a couple of hours and then to go back to our little palace to relax. The boys can play with their ipad on free wifi. I must say, Fes is very different from Marakkech. No hassling, safe and very friendly.
The house was absolutely clean and wifi, magnetron, dish washer, tv, dvd, washing machine, dryer etc etc was in the house.
We did make a day tour with a taxi to see monkeys and one day we visited a swimming pool in the new city.
Laurence and Bernard asked us to be critical if we would post a review. We travelled a lot... but sorry Laurence, we simply have no critical note. It simply was fantastic!! I can recommend this to everyone who wants to step in a different world. Greetings from Holland.
