The house was nicely furnished and the owner very friendly. We had two children with us that loved the pool. We were always out so we only seen the pool guy once but he was really nice and gave us food recommendations. Zihuatinejo can be hot so make sure to pack summer clothes. When arriving, Pietros housekeeping had water for us which was perfect since we were really thirsty. Theres a convenience store two blocks away to stock up on snacks and drinks.
We rented a car and the house is located minutes from beach and minutes from city dining areas. Exiting the house to the right there's an excellent breakfast restaurant with owners that used to live in S California (our home). A street away there's a good burger spot. Best pizzas in town are 2 blocks away. If you google it I'm sure it'll come up fast. Safe house but like the rest of Mexico I dont recommend walking the streets past sunset.
The owner Pietro was very informative and checked up on us in case we needing anything like extra cleaning or recommendations.
Thank you Pietro for your hospitality!

We stayed for 9 nights at this property and were extremely satisfied. The house had all of the amenities our group needed and the neighborhood was a perfect location. There was a small store just around the corner that had everything we needed and everyone was helpful and friendly. Walking distance to restaurants, the beach, walking paths and centro. Can also easily hop on the local transit.
Lalo looked after the pool and was fantastic and easy to communicate with. Pietro was also amazing and always kept in contact to ensure everything was great during our vacation.
I would highly recommend Casa Allegra and will stay again in the future!

I cannot praise this property, it's owner and his support staff highly enough! The home itself is spectacular, and Pietro respinded like a family member towhatever we needed, whenever we contacted him. He described zhiuatenejo as magical, and he was right! I will be returning one day for sure.

The house is beautiful and has more room than we thought. Four bedrooms upstairs and 3 bathrooms with showers.
Pietro was magnificent regarding his communication and availability. Silvia is also a fantastic cook for the times you may not want to.
Kitchen is fully stocked and there is also a charcoal grill by the pool.
It is an easy walk to Zihuatanejo Centro. Less than 10 minutes. Within 5 minutes of a pharmacy, a corner grocery , great restaurants (La Perla Negra and Chukos and Lety’s), and a fantastic coffee shop (Boxha) that also serves food and cocktails. You can also walk to Playa la Madera in 15 minutes. There are abundant taxis cruising by during the day to take you to Playa la Ropa and Ixtapa.
You should bring earplugs because, being in a local neighborhood, dogs bark at unpredictable hours at night, there are lots of roosters who get started early, and there are occasional parties that last until the wee hours. Also would have been helpful to have a handbook at the house with information about taxis, restaurants, etc.
Small things to help make this great experience even better. Gracias Pietro!

Could not be happier with our stay. We've stayed in VRBO'S all over Zihua and Ixtapa for more than 12 years. This was the cleanest and most comfortably appointed one that we've experienced. It is back in the neighborhood a bit, but an easy flat walk to everything from Madera beach and downtown to Mega Soriana for groceries. Wouldn't hesitate for a second to stay again.

The house itself is beautiful. Property is big, decent size pool. Close by to almost everything we needed, restaurants, Oxxo stores, pharmacy, and most important the beach. La perla negra restaurant which is literally at a walking distance from the house was absolutely great. Highly recommend for breakfast. The house was great, clean when we arrived, can’t say much about the staff because they never went/showed up all but the first day we arrived. According to the owner the house would be cleaned every other day and not once did they show up from the 7 days we stayed there. Kinda sucks when they’re charging so much and extra for cleaning services and it doesn’t get done. Overall it was great, washer, refrigerator, stove, all rooms with AC and most important…..WI-FI and NETFLIX were included.

This was our second visit in this wonderful home and would love to return again. Close to everything and a wonderful place to lounge and cook if you want to stay put. gracias!

Place was great for a group of 4. We loved the kitchen and outdoor spaces with the pool. Pietro checked in during our stay if we needed anything and was a great host.

It's hard to say anything other reviewers haven't already said, so let me just say what everyone says is true. Don't hesitate to book this place. Pietro is great, Silvia is great, the house is great. You will be staying in the more "neighborhood"-y part of Zihuatanejo which for us was a total plus, but you are a super close walk to "downtown", Playa Madera, Playa La Ropa, etc... A/C in all rooms. Fully stocked kitchen (this is a real plus compared to other places we have stayed). The pool was a huge hit with the kids. Just really everything was perfect - just book it.

Very impressed with every aspect of my stay at casa allegria! Hank you to Pietro for sharing his gorgeous house with its wonderful location, attention to details and pool. Saludos as well to Silvia for a wonderful meal and warm welcome. Loved staying in a real colonia close to everything and would return in a heart beat.

I wish I could give this house and owner more than 5 stars. When we stayed here, we got more than a beautiful house to stay in for our 2 week trip. It was well equipped and spacious for our family of 4. Our 2 kids (age 16 and 11) loved the pool and their rooms. Pietro, the owner, checks in with you a long the way to help you enjoy your trip if needed. He is a wealth of information and resources about the area. Silvia and Eduardo come by to keep the house and grounds clean and running smoothly. Silvia can come cook for you at an extra cost if you want, but we didn't take advantage of that on this trip....we were enjoying the local restaurants too much. Pietro connected us with 2 brothers (Noel and David of Dia Perfecto boats) who captain small boats to go fishing and snorkeling. They were great! I highly recommend that you have them take you out on the water, especially snorkeling. I know that I mentioned the owner, Pietro, already, but he was so great that he's worth mentioning again. I've never had a host be so helpful. He has a binder in the house that is full of great information about restaurants, beaches, things to do, etc. However, he is also available through Whatsapp to help you with anything. We mostly walked everywhere from the house, but sometimes we wanted to go further than walking distance. We didn't want to rent a car so Pietro connected us with Martin, who drives taxi. Martin was a great help and always there when we needed him. Our favorite beach was Playa La Ropa and our favorite hang out was La Perla. Easily walk-able from the house-- about 20 min walk over a small hill with great views. Coming back from the beach and dipping in the pool was delightful. Lastly, the people of Zihuatanejo were genuinely kind and helpful. In such a heavy tourist town, it could be easy for the locals to become resentful of all the people rotating through, but there was never a hint of that. Instead we found the people to be incredibly helpful. It is clear that the locals want people to love the area as much as they do. In summary, you can't go wrong with this house or this destination. I hope you visit and enjoy.

Beautiful property. Pietro is a great host, very friendly and concerned about our experience. Our family had a great time. 6 adults and 2 children. Silvia is a fabulous cook and made soooooo much food. Definitely a great place.

Casa Allegria is exactly as the pictures show. It more than met our expectations and did not disappoint. Clean and well kept it was a great place to call home during our stay in Zihua. The property is very safe and secure and is located within easy walking distance to beaches, restaurants and downtown.
After a long day of travel we were greeted by the housekeeper, Silvia, who for a small fee, had cold cervesas waiting for us. Pietro also provides some basic supplies so there was no need to quickly run to the store. Very nice, much appreciated, touches!
With 4 bedrooms and 3 & 1/2 baths there was plenty of room for our family to spread out. For our time spent “at home” we always gathered in the spacious outdoor area, either in the pool or just relaxing. The kitchen is very well stocked with plenty of pots, pans, dishes and utensils. There is a large 6 burner stove as well as an outdoor bar-b-que, both of which we used to prepare the fresh ingredients purchased at the Mercado Municipal.
One housekeeping was included with our two week stay and Silvia did a great job cleaning, changing the beds and washing the plentiful supply of towels.
Pietro is, by far, the best owner we have ever rented from! There is a binder in the house which he has filled with tips on beaches and restaurants and anything else you might want to know. His personal recommendation for a fishing captain proved to be excellent with 2 very successful fishing expeditions for us! He was always very quick to respond to any questions we had and even made the arrangements for the fishing and taxis. Very helpful since our Spanish does not go much beyond Hola and Gracias!
We would not hesitate to recommend Casa Allegria to anyone and hope that we are able to return one day soon. Thank you Pietro!

There is so much about this home that we like. I hope I don't forget all the good points.
*The location is perfect, away from the crowds and noise yet close to downtown Zihuatanejo, Madera beach, and the big supermarket (Mega Soriana). All walkable distances. There are no beach views from the house, but that is a minor point.
*The pictures of the house are accurate and it even looks better in person.
*The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, silverware, plates, cups, coffee maker, blender, toaster, and gadgets if you want to cook at home. If anything is missing, it's a dishwasher. (We all shared in washing dishes!)
*Every room has a permanent ceiling fan and each bedroom has an AC unit. Oh man, the AC was welcome at the end of the day!
*All the bathrooms are nice and functional with large showers in three of them.
*All the beds were comfortable (no complaints from anyone in our party)
*The house was clean and tidy when we arrived. House cleaning, once a week is included along with someone to maintain the swimming pool. (Super good)
*We stayed for the full month of November 2018, and any issues we had, were quickly resolved by the caretaker Sylvia, or Pietro the owner.
*The neighborhood around the house was very peaceful and the neighbors were very cordial. Walk to any corner to catch a cab; cheap and plentiful.
*The owner...Pietro quickly responded to any question through text or phone call as it arose. He was super. Pietro also provided one of the most concise guide books we have ever encountered in a HomeAway house. Doctors, Dentists, beaches to visit and of course restaurant references.
In short, we loved the house. We are already making plans to return.

Pietro's house was a great base for us to relax and explore Zihua and surrounds. 3 large bedrooms and one smaller one with bunks - all with A/C and lots of space for us all to fit it (grandparents and 3 kids included!). The pool was fantastic - just note it is not fenced so you need to be careful with toddlers. Very well-equipped kitchen and lots of space inside and out for relaxing, reading etc. Great local restaurants nearby within a few minutes walk, and a super-handy convenience store around the corner. With the young kids in strollers/prams it took us less than 10 minutes to walk to Playa La Madera. Slightly longer walk up over the hill to Playa La Ropa (we taxied back with the kids). 15 - 20 min walk into town - or a short bus or taxi ride away. We used the local bus to get to and from Ixtapa easily. Pietro had left a lot of information on things to do, restaurants etc. and contacts for taxis which was fantastic! Silvia was very attentive and helpful with anything we needed (including a potty!) - thanks! Would stay again if we were holidaying in Zihua. Well recommended!

Fantastic property well-maintained, felt totally safe, we had Sylvia come in and cook a few meals for us the best meals we had the whole time she’s an awesome cook, she was totally willing to help anything that we needed, would recommend this place to all my friends and family!! Great holiday

We had such a great time at this house. There were many great napping and lounge spots as well a soaking pool. The bedrooms all had airconditioning and comfortable matresses for resting easy. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking meals together. We hope to rent this house in December this year.

We stayed in Casa Allegria for a week with our two kids and my father. The house was perfect for all of us with plenty of room. Everything was very clean and tidy and well taken care of. The bedrooms were all good sizes and all had air conditioning. The pool in the back was very clean (the pool guy came several times during our stay) and the kids spent a lot of time in there. The 'deep' end is only around 5' so it was great for my father as well who doesn't know how to swim. When we arrived we were met by Silvia who for a small price can have fresh guacomole and pico de gallo waiting for you as well as cold beer for the adults and horchata for the kids. Thank you Pietro for offering this. After a long day of travelling it was so nice to have these things when we arrived. We also hired Silvia to cook for us one night and the food was delicious so we highly recommend this as well. The house is located about a 15 minute walk from downtown Zihautanejo, in an area with lots of little convenience stores and restaurants. We ate delicious tacos almost every day from the places just across the street where they make the tortillas as you order so all of the food is very fresh. Pietro arranged a day with a local captain (Luis) for us. Luis first took us fishing before ending up on a little Island across from Ixtapa (called Isla Ixtapa) on which we ate the blackfin Tuna we caught, played on the beach, and snorkeled along the reef behind the island. We loved that so much that we hired Luis for a second day of deep sea fishing where we managed to catch a sailfish that must have weighed 80lbs!Martine, the taxi driver was very helpful as well. He arranged our transportation for our excursions and our trip back to the airport. We just hailed a taxi for the trips to the beach and into town. The other taxi drivers were very friendly but they spoke very little to no English so a few words of Spanish were very helpful. We spent two full days at the beach (Playa la Ropa) where you can rent chairs/umbrellas and spend the day relaxing. This beach was great for the kids as there's no dropoff, the water is warm and the waves aren't too big. I recommend going during the week as it's less busy.Pietro was the best host, very friendly and checked in several times during our stay and was very quick to respond to any questions we had. This was the most relaxing vacation and we will be back. Thanks Pietro!

Stayed here for a month over the Christmas holidays. Great location close to everything. House was well equipped with every thing a person could want. Pool was great. Lots of room for the family. The outdoor space was great for relaxing and the grill presented some great meals. Can hardly wait to come back.
