Fin utsikt över malmbanan, Torneträsk och lapporten!
Lite rörigt, dusch i ett annat hus.

Sauna, great experience. Good value for the price.
As we know the showers are not in the main building; they are in the building with the sauna a few meters away.

I liked how close it is from the train station and the fact that they offer the kitchen for personal use.
The area is under construction.. very ugly. Then the facilities are mediocre. The wifi doesn't work, the shower.. is basically a bucket. The beds are so old and thin I felt I was sleeping on top of the bed frame.

Super relaxed hostel. Good kitchen. Free sauna.nothing pretentious, but perfect if you've arrived after a few days hiking

I stayed in a basic 2-bed room w/bunkbed. Clean room, big communal kitchen (and a good place to meet other people).
Love the sauna at night.
The room could really need curtains to darken the room (Midnight sun) and perhaps new matrasses (thin/worn out).

The location, the vibe, the kitchen, the staff, the sauna, the information, everything was nice. I met some really nice people there. So many activities to choose from and everything was at walkable distance. It is one of the best hostels I have stayed in so far.
Would not say did not like but a suggestion. There was only one toilet and bathroom for the entire floor which seemed a bit off considering there were many people staying in the floor.

The staff was super amazing, welcoming, helpful and supportive! A lovely bunch of people work here. Also met some really cool fellow travelers. The most awesome place to stay, it felt like home.

The Hostel is in the village, so it's near to the supermarket and train station. You can rend for a few euros cross-country-ski and snow shoe equipment and go around in the beautiful near area. Also there is a really great view point only 30-40 min away from the hostel.
In the kitchen I found everything that I needed and it's very cozy there.
The sauna is only available one hour a day.
It would be nicer if there would be the possibility to charge the phone also on the upper beds.

Very good Hostel, especially the Sauna was a lot of fun. It´s easy to meet people here and I really enjoyed the opportunity to rent skis and a winter overall and boots.

The staff was really friendly and the place is super clean!
The prices are very nice comparing to other options in the area.
The internet was not very good and the kitchen can be quite small depending on the number of guests using it at the same time.
We could not use the sauna because it is just from 20-21 hrs and in that time some northern lights appeared so we were outside :(

The staff is great, will help you with all the queries.
The location is central, great restaurant nearby.
Kitchen facilities are organised well.
A bit on the cleanliness could be improved, but it was fine for a hostel.

the kitchen is cozy but contains too many people, the heater doesn’t work so well

Each floor had a big kitchen and although the hostel was fully booked I rarely conflicted with others cooking and when I did there was space enough for 2 of us to cook. The rooms were big enough for 6 people. It was super to be allowed to visit the sled dogs every morning if we wanted to. Access to many beautiful hikes straight outside the door. The nightly sauna adds a real community to the hostel, you make fast friends. My room had an amazing view of Lapporten.
Awesome with a nightly sauna to decompress after the long day. There's a nice dark spot up behind the hostel which is brilliant for viewing the Aurora, a 2-3 minute walk and easy to find (easier with a flashlight). Nice to bring your blanket or sleeping bag and set yourself up for a night of waiting for Aurora. Next doors Mountain Lodge offers a typical Swedish breakfast buffet, lunch, packed lunches and dinner. They also have local beers available.
I think everything was great and you have to understand that Abisko is at the top of the world, you can't expect the same amenities as you have at home.
In our building we had to go outside to the sauna room to shower and the shower facilities were small and shared. If you want to shower between 8pm and 10pm the showers are full of sauna goers and privacy will be limited. The stairwell of our floor smelled very strongly of wet dog, which is to be expected at a husky hostel. It's approx. a 35-minute walk from the hostel to the National park which is a lovely walk on the Rallar Trail but it's tiring after a long hike to do another hike to get home to food and bed. Plan for dinner at STF in Abisko or pack your dinner with you to make the most of your time. I was there during the changing of the seasons so the bus schedule was sparse. I started hitchhiking to and from the National Park which took about 5-10 minutes and is quite safe in the location. It opened up hikes that I didn't think I would be able to get to, like Trollsjön in Låktatjåkka. The grocery store available in Abisko Östra is a candy store with some groceries in it. If you want to eat something that isn't essential in everyday Swedish meals then make sure to bring it with you from home or from Kiruna. Or plan to eat at STF (closes around Sept. 25th) and the next-door Mountain Lodge.

the atmosphere, the location, the staff, the surroundings, it’s perfect.
to me the matras of the beds were on the thin side, which meant I woke up everyday with back pain. I know not all would have this problem, but the moment a matras doesn’t give support and you feel the metal frame of the bed while sleeping I just know my back pain wil return instantly. Another downside was the location of the shower, which were in different buildings. It did give the camping vibes walking with your whole toiletries to another building, but even in late summer it was very cold when returning from your shower.
