About this house rental
Dreamcatcher Chalet is a luxurious brand new southwestern style ski chalet in the heart of the Taos Ski Valley. The house is located on an exclusive road about 70 yards from the Rubezahl return trail, making this an unique ski in and ski out property. You just walk out of the house down the road a bit and cross over the bridge over the creek and ski straight to the base or lift 1. To return, skiers will make their way “around the world”, from the backside of the mountain. It is one of the best private home location in Taos.
The main house has 4 bedrooms and 3 1/2 half baths. It can comfortably accommodate up to 11 guests.
The main house has a very spacious living room with a fabulous centerpiece floor to ceiling Texas limestone fireplace. The dining room features an exquisite Mexican mesquite dining table. Beyond the dining room lies a professionally appointed kitchen with large island, double refrigerator, professional range, super quiet dishwasher and all needed appointments and utensils.
There are four bedrooms in the main house. The master king bedroom suite is located on the first floor. It has its own entrance to the outside deck and hot-tub spa. The master bath features a powerful steam sauna.
On the second floor there are 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a spacious loft and an alcove. One of the bedrooms is a queen suite with its own bathroom; the second bedroom has 2 twin beds that can be joined to make a king; the third bedroom has a queen bed and the alcove has a twin bed for a child. The other bathroom is also on this level. The loft is set up with a TV for games and has a pull-out queen sofa bed; it is a great place for the youngsters to have their own space in the house. Total beds are for 11 people,
The house also features a heated garage with racks for your skis and snowboards. Additional one car parking space available in the driveway.
The roads from the Base of Taos ski valley to the house are well maintained but Four wheel drive is required during winter months.

Rosa and Fernando's home was perfect for our ski group. The house exceeded our expectations and access to the slopes was convenient. Rosa and Fernando were very flexible with our check in and check out times and took an interest in helping us make the most of our stay. Would highly recommend their home to other groups.

We rented the home for spring break and let me just say…the pictures do this home very little justice! The home is spectacular with plenty of room, spacious gathering areas! The location of the home makes the views picturesque…you won’t wanna leave!
The homeowners went above and beyond to make sure that we were accommodated. You won’t find a better vacationing spot!!

This is a wonderful house for skiers.
Hosts, Rosa and Fernando, are extremely gracious.
View is beautiful.
House is clean and spacious.
Kitchen is great for cooking big meals with “industrial strength” appliances (double refrigerators and large six top range).
The owners warned us ahead of time about two roof leaks caused by recent high winds. The damaged drywall had been sealed under plastic sheeting until contractors could make the final repairs.
Skiers access the slopes by a short walk down the road.
The house is located on a secondary road which is not the first to be plowed after a big snow storm.
Big snow storms are challenging for less experienced skiers and children being driven to ski school.
After a very heavy snow (in spite of Fernando clearing the driveway and Rosa calling the mayor to get plows in as quickly as possible) we were unable to drive our 8 year old to ski school. Fortunately, ski school folks kindly moved her lesson to another day. So, we enjoyed a day of books and puzzles.
We thank Rosa and Fernando for sharing their beautiful views!
Skiers will love this location!

Rosa was beyond hospitable, readily available & her beautiful servants heart as a retired nurse shows. We arrived much earlier than anticipated & Fernando was skiing & unable to greet us but gave us the code. The home is stunning. Truly. The views and fireplace beckon the soul. Fernando and Rosa stay in the garage attached apartment while you are there. The first night Fernando came in looking for Cinnamon. (no problem but we didnt realize they were staying so close) It appears they live in the home most of the time with their dogs. That said, there was hair everywhere. In the kitchen drawers. Bathroom drawers. Ice trays. Sheets. Everywhere. I really hate to say it but feel I must. There was also multiple existing water leaks on sight w/ visible mold & mildew. The driveway to this home is a hard left turn, up hill. It's tough on a good day. At one point, Rosa & Fernando's dog came running out and we stopped as we were turning in the drive, as to not hit the dog - to find out we had lost all traction and slid all the way down the way back down the hill. We were there when Winter Squall Olive hit & an avalanche close to the home. It was intense. We missed flights & ended up checking out by 2 PM once the tractors were able to dig out our road. hot tub lid blew off & as Rosa sent a picture of it letting us know she was filing a claim on that a missing fireplace poker one of the boys used in the snow. Slopes are 75 yards - A hike unclipp required. Both ways. There is some work to

I just finished a four-night stay at this home with a group of friends on a ski trip. The house is fantastic, spacious, and has a very thoughtful layout. To our surprise, the home is even nicer than the photos make it look. For those going here to ski, it is super close and accessible to the slope. Also, the hosts are SUPER as they are great communicators and made sure we had everything we needed. We have been doing this annual trip for the last 15 years and this was the best rental experience we have had to date.

We took five of our adult kids for a five day ski stay. Rosa did a wonderful job of making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The house was amazing! Rosa left the Xmas decorations up for us to enjoy, the kitchen is super well supplied, plenty for eight people. Heated floor in the family area, huge fireplace made for super fun evenings! Ski in ski out to a run above Lift 1. Sauna in the master bath after skiing was terrific. Super fun!

We stayed here with family (our children and two grandparents) in July 2022, and it was an incredible experience. Details below. We would definitely come back.
The house was clean we arrived, in wonderful condition with new appliances. Everything is beautifully decorated with care, and we appreciated the attention to details that made our stay comfortable. All we needed was onsite (plenty of fresh towels, soap for dishwasher and washing machine, all kitchen supplies needed for cooking, dinnerware, etc.). The outdoor hot tub seemed brand new and was amazing (nicest one we have seen - we have stayed in homes with hot tubs before), and maintenance staff automatically came for routine hot tub maintenance, checked chemical levels, etc. The garage has room for two cars, with room for another in the driveway, and it was all very easy to use.
The location is incredible. We were able to walk to the National Forest trails from the house, or it was a very short drive (less than 5 minutes) up to the Williams Lake Trail Head parking lot and Bavarian restaurant, or down to the Ski Valley Village (restaurants, shops, etc.). My family enjoyed several days of hiking in the mountains, a day of rafting in Taos, and a couple of days going to outdoor restaurants in Taos. It was easy to order groceries from Smith's and pick up curbside. The house has a large new fridge that held everything we needed for a week.
The host, Rosa, is wonderful and made us comfortable from before we arrived until our departure. She answered all of our questions, went out of her way to make sure we were able to enjoy the stay (made sure we could access folding chairs for the patio, answered questions when we arrived), and it felt like we were staying with family.
We loved relaxing in a home that has been taken care of with love and attention by both the hosts and previous guests. It made our vacation happy. We would love to stay here again in the future.

Fantastic Stay
We stayed at Dreamcatcher Chalet for a week during Spring Break mid-March. NM had just received two weeks of snow so the skiing was awesome and somehow there were no lift lines! The homeowners were on-site in the attached apartment so they were able to greet us upon arrival and were attentive to any/every need or question. They were MORE than gracious hosts and we'd happily return to this location again. There was ample room for all 10 of us and access to the slopes was easy enough. Driving to the house after heavy snows--we did need 4wd but really the roads were clear, just a little skidding at the driveway turn in and over night as the the roads iced back up. The house is as described but better than the pictures.

Ski chalet, perfect for families and skiers!
We rented the chalet for a family ski trip and it was perfect for 4 adults and 4 children. The skiers loved the easy access to the slopes and the home was perfect for cooking family dinners and playing games. Very comfortable and plenty of room for 2 families. The host was incredibly attentive and communicative. This is a very special home and we would definitely come back here! Highly recommend.

Great place for a small or large group. Ski access was fantastic.
Fantastic property. Super attentive owners were extraordinarily helpful. Any small issues that came up were addressed immediately, most notably 36” of snow fell shortly after we arrived and the owners personally plowed the driveway so we could make it down to the ski basin.

The house is above and beyond all of our expectations. Rosa was a great home owner that stayed in touch with us just in case we needed anything, which we didn't. Pictures don't do this place justice. Taos ski valley too is the best place to ski hands down. Lots of good skiing with no Colorado lines. Lol. Thanks again Rosa. What a good host!!

Extraordinary Property1
The Dreamcatcher Chalet is a terrific property that was thoughtfully designed for comfort and convenience to enjoy the beautiful Taos Ski Valley. Direct and quick access to the ski runs was excellent and the entire family thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The owners were highly responsive, very well organized and helpful throughout our stay. The photos do not do justice to the quality and spaciousness of the Dreamcatcher Chalet and we highly recommend it!

Absolute perfection
A group of our friends (young adults late 20's/early 30's) stayed here for our annual ski trip in Jan 2016-it
was by far the best place we've ever stayed. Place has everything you could want-clean, plenty of space, hot tub, fireplace with plenty of wood, great kitchen and living areas for family meals. The owner Rosa was pleasant to deal with and a clear communicator which was helpful in planning a trip for 12 or so people. Location was ideal and is a true ski in/ski out-was a little more expensive than other options in Taos but WELL WELL worth the money. We became a little spoiled after staying here as now we are always on the quest for something as nice...and honestly I don't think many exist when it comes to ski lodging. House is even more impressive in person than the pictures. Lots of windows so you can enjoy the fact that you are literally staying on the side of the mountain. Couldn't recommend more.

A beautiful home in a wonderful location.
The Chalet was beautiful, warm and comfortable. Our time there was perfect including the snow !
We enjoyed cooking in the fully equipped kitchen, the very relaxing, spacious living areas , and the comfortable bedrooms. Our party consisted of five adults and two children 8 and 4 years of age. We all had plenty of room and the 4 year old imagined she was Rapunzel climbing up the ladder to the top of the house, to sleep.
The ski trail to the base was very close, which was great for getting to the lifts in the morning and skiing back at the
end of the day, to relax and enjoy the hot tub.
We would certainly recommend this beautiful home and like to return to enjoy it , in the future.

What A Place!
Had a great stay at the chalet.
The pictures really don't do it justice. My group had two chefs in it, and they raved about the kitchen. So nice to be able to have a meal as a group and watch the snow falling on the mountain.
The living room is spacious and comfortable - we could all hang out there and "visit". We were there over Super Bowl weekend and the set up was perfect to watch the game.
Location is ski on/off, located right next to a trail, and this is not common for Taos. Really a great experience and I would highly recommend it for people looking for a great place to stay in the ski valley. We were lucky to be on the mountain as Taos was hit with 14 inches of snow while we were there. Had we stayed in the town of Taos we may not have made it up to the mountain!

Fantastic Family Vacation
Our family had a wonderful vacation in Taos Ski Valley this summer. We took trail rides, river rafting trips, mountain hikes, etc. and returned each day to spend time together. Dreamcatcher Chalet provided a great space for that family time. The large family room, dining area and kitchen were very well equipped and welcoming. The owners have provided those extra touches that helped us feel we were welcome guests. Our party included three generations, and the Chalet and adjoining apartment allowed us to have both the space to be together to play games, eat a family meal or watch a movie and have separate quiet space for babies to nap. The property manager was helpful and a great resource. Dreamcatcher is a fantastic place to stay and enjoy the beauty of Taos.

Beautiful Mountain Home
We have been traveling to Taos for the past four years now and this home is the best one we've stayed in. We rented both the home and the adjoining apartment to accommodate more than one family. The entire property is very well-maintained and wonderfully decorated. Our party includes kids from 7-16 and everyone found a spot to hang out and have fun after skiing and sledding outside the house.
The heated garage worked great to hold all our ski equipment and serve as a place for everyone to get all the snow off before entering the home.
It snowed heavily while we were there and the road was kept plowed and the home's care-taker called to check on us.
We will return to the Dreamcatcher chalet in the future!
