About this house rental
DaCamp is a rustic non-smoking lakefront home with the get-away atmosphere that you desire. With 250 feet of lakefront, who can ask for better. When you arrive just throw your bags down and head out to the large spacious property populated with various types of trees. There is a barbeque pit, swing looking out over the water, fire ring and Adirondack chairs. So, pull up a chair, grab your book and take in the serenity of it all, or grab your binoculars and do a little bird watching while sipping on a hot cup of coffee, and be sure to look for the morning flyover of Canadian Geese and the occasional Blue Heron landing on the pier.
Of course, you could just head right out to waterfront and drop your line right off the lighted pier. Don’t forget to set out your yo-yo’s or launch your boat at the launch on the property. After you return with your catch of the day, dress your fish at the fish cleaning station next to the launch.
For the golfer, we are located just minutes from the renowned water-front Cypress Bend Golf Club. Travel a few miles further to Toledo Town where you can find a huge selection of bait and tackle, as well as grocery stores, gasoline and restaurants.
Once the day of outdoor adventure comes to a close come inside this spacious three-bedroom home with a sunroom that can be used as a fourth bedroom, a kitchen equipped with cookware, dishes, silverware and a drip coffee pot, that opens to living and dining area, two bathrooms and an outdoor kitchen with a separate bathroom. Enjoy the flat screen TV with satellite in the living room. In the fall and winter warm those chilly nights and cold feet by the fireplace in the center of the living room.
DaCamp is the type of place that you have no need to ever leave. The peace and serenity will have you desiring to stay “another day”. However, should you choose to venture out, a wealth of attractions and things await your presence. Natchitoches, La with all of its historic beauty is home to the annual Christmas Lights Festival, a 6-week long celebration started in 1927, kicks off each year on the Saturday before Thanksgiving with over 300,000 Christmas Lights and a fireworks show every Saturday before Thanksgiving until New Years Eve which will dazzle you and your families’ holiday outings. Northwestern State University is also located in Natchitoches, but don’t miss the historic town of Many and Fort Jesup on the way there. Venture South about 45 minutes and see Leesville and Fort Polk, the home of our brave and heroic soldiers. To the North, drive to Zwolle and attend the famous Zwolle Tamales’ Fiesta in the fall. Toledo Bend Family Adventure Park, located in Zwolle, offers a place for the family to enjoy water slides, a lazy river, splash pad and 18 hole mini-golf. The kids can also enjoy swimming at the beaches at Cypress Bend Marina and at the Louisiana Visitors Center at the foot of Pendleton Bridge all within a short distance from DaCamp.
DaCamp is a delightful step back in time to when life was simpler and the focus was not so much on modern conveniences but rather on spending time with those we hold dear. Don’t take our word on how peaceful and relaxing DaCamp truly is – instead see what previous guests had to say by checking out their numerous comments on the website!!!

Beautiful lot and plenty of room. We had everything needed in the kitchen, but the pictures listed misrepresents the property. The property is much more dated than indicated online.

Perfect place to relax and fish. Everything you need is on location. Boat launch, good dock fishing if you don’t have a boat. Close to Toledo town if you forgot anything.

The roomy accommodations were great for our family of 7 adults and 1 baby. There was lots of room to spread out. The kitchen was well-equipped with cookware, utensils, dinnerware, and appliances, and the bathrooms were well-stocked. We enjoyed the sunrises and serenity of the lake.

We rented this cabin because we were celebrating my daddy‘s 85th birthday. It had lots of space and everyone was able to have a bed to sleep on. Great property and a beautiful view.

Rustic lakehouse with excellent view. Our familly did like the property. The property does need to correct and/or replace some of the identified amenities for safety reasons such as chairs on the pier (unstable), the swing down by the pier (rusted out bolt caused swing to fall with two family members on it), BBQ pit rusted out and not cleaned (we didn't use either one), ceiling fan in master bedroom not working, oven temperature(heated slowly or burned very fast). We think if these things were corrected the visit rating would have been very good or excellent. Communications was very good and we did love the charm of the home. The pots and pans were very well stocked and the furniture was ample. The room with the single bed was hot due to no air condition vent. Overall a little work would greatly improve the safety and usability of the property as it is very homey.

I rent this every year for a little family gathering and it never disappoints! Great place and already looking forward to next year's stay.

The property was adequate. It needs some work. The dock had a rotten board on the walkway that someone could have stepped through and the whole thing is really weak. The lawn could have been cut before our arrival. The neighbors need to do something about their dog barking all night long. Will not be staying here again.

Place of peace and quiet
There was some no paved adventure to get to the house but once there the peaceful stillness was worth it. We spent most of our time outdoors even with the heat!! This is not your run of the mill suburb house but a true lake cabin (aka rustic) :). We enjoyed it.

Family Fishing Trip
Our family, nine total, stayed at Da Camp. We fished in the morning, we fished at night, we even had our own family fishing tournament. We got a total of 60, mostly perch, but the ‘Littles’ didn’t care. We played, we threw water balloons, we ate, and we celebrated each of the kids’ birthday with a special meal. We rented a boat very close to the property and spent a day on the lake. We had a great time!
The (house) was very well equipped. It was quite large and we each had our own space. Everything was very comfortable, and we appreciate the effort the host put into the property.

It was nice. We enjoyed the night fishing off the dock. There were enough beds for everyone to sleep comfortably. It was isolation but yet with neighbors near so that we felt safe. Lovely view.

Nice place to hang out !
We had a nice weekend! It was really hot and the fishing wasn't great, but the property owner couldn't help us with those 2 issues 🙂 . That said, Ms Susan was super to deal with. We'll go back again .

Great property and location!
I loved the location. The property felt secluded even though there are neighbors. Even with a large group, there is plenty of space. I will stay here again! The AC did go out during the stay, however the property owner was very responsive in getting someone out there on a Saturday to get it fixed and she really was just pleasant to work with. I enjoyed my stay here very much!
