About this cabin rental
Originally a pole barn, Creekside Studio has served as workspace for a potter and, later, a glassmaker. Today, it’s an inviting living space and just what you need: a well-situated home base for exploring western North Carolina and a great place to relax when you’re done!
Bring your hiking shoes, road or mountain bike, canoe or kayak, and other essential toys. Creekside Studio is near the Pisgah National Forest border and about 7 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Access the Parkway via scenic, winding Highway 151—a gorgeous drive or challenging (but rewarding!) bicycle climb. Once you reach the Parkway, you’re just 3 miles from the Mount Pisgah trailhead and a 1.5-mile hike from the finest panoramic views around at 5,721 feet. A large, locked storage/laundry room at the studio can secure your gear when you're not adventuring. And if you seek a different kind of action, the studio is a 25-minute drive to the funky bustle of downtown Asheville where you’ll find plenty of interesting people, arts, history, and more craft beverages than you’ve ever dreamed of!
Creekside Studio sits on 13.5 acres of forested land along a dead-end, gravel road. Here, you can sit in the Hot Springs hot tub on the 740-square-foot deck, count the stars in a very dark sky, and take in the sounds of…nothing, except the creatures of the night and the whisper of the creek below the front yard. The spacious deck provides ample room to grill, dine al fresco, and relax in the rocking chairs with a glass of something delicious. Just up the trail from the studio is a traditional Finnish-style, wood-fired sauna designed and built by the owners featuring wood harvested from the property and reclaimed materials. Light the fire, lie back, sweat out your cares, and then plunge into the cool, spring-fed trout pond. It’s electrifying and so good for the body and soul. An outdoor shower with hot and cold water will facilitate the transition from sauna to pond to hot tub. A set of robes in the bedroom closet will surely please; just bring your slippers.
The studio’s open yet cozy space is perfect for two. The kitchen contains all the tools you’ll need to create your favorite meals or treats. In the winter months, you can enjoy the glow of a warm fire in the woodstove.
You may decide to unplug upon arrival, but, if not, free WiFi will keep you connected with the outside world. Not that you’ll need it, but electronic entertainment options include a Roku TV with Netflix, Prime Video, HBO Max, and Hulu; a Bluetooth-enabled stereo with CD player; and DVD player.
We’d love to welcome you to Creekside Studio.

I don't think the ad does the property justice. The sound of the stream while you drink coffee in the mornings is so soothing. Feels remote but close to everything within 25 minutes. We loved the window design. Such a lovely layout of the space. Super clean and has everything you need to cook in the kitchen. The tea & coffee + honey was a nice homey touch. We loved the plunge pond and jacuzzi. We didn't use the sauna as it is July. It makes me want to come back in the winter and hole up with the wood burning stove.

This property was exactly what we were looking for for a peaceful, relaxing trip. Everything was even better than expected--the sounds of the creek while sitting on the deck, the relaxing time spent in the sauna and hot tub, all of the beautiful decorating details. We hope to come and relax here every single year!

Carl and Stephanie’s cabin was a perfect getaway! It’s in such a peaceful location, but the addition of the sauna and the abundant outdoor space really set it over the top. Very convenient to get into town for exploring and to hiking spots as well. We loved spending the day out doing activities and then coming home and relaxing in the hot tub or sauna (or both). We will definitely be back.

Overall a isolated, cozy cabin that was perfect for a weekend away from the world. The kitchen has a wonderful view and is well equipped.

Our hosts were great and very accomodating. Everything was top notch and super clean and well equipped. They had a book on the table detailing everything and the wood stove, wood fired Finnish sauna and jacuzzi all were used extensively every day. We will be back as it is now on our shortlist!

My wife and I had a great time on our honeymoon and could not have picked a better place to stay! It was a nice quiet place tucked in the woods. Great amenities and great location! We will definitely be back!

This is an awesome property. Located near Mt Pisgah and many other hiking opportunities. The wood fired sauna, mountain pond with trout to feed and the hot tub are excellent for rest and relaxation. The kitchen is nicely appointed with all of the odds and ends you need to cook that perfect meal. Highly recommend this property and hope to visit again.

We absolutely enjoyed our time at the Creekside Studio! We loved being located right in the forest, and I always love a sauna, so this property definitely fit the bill. Cannot wait to book our next stay!

Couldnt be happier. The owners clearly pay attention to the details. We do 2-3 rentals per year for vacation most years and this one is hands down our favorite. You will not find a better place for the money.

Everything at the property was exactly as in the listing. Very quiet and peaceful. Rear deck view is amazing and fun to feed the trout in the pond. Did not use Sauna but it looked really nice. Carl was a great host and good communication. Unfortunately it rained 3 of the 5 nights but still made it work. Would definitely recommend this property.

We had an AMAZING getaway for our 50th birthdays!! Carl and Stephanie are wonderful hosts and are easily available for any needs. The property is MAGICAL and the amenities are unlike anything that would be available at most short term rentals. We relaxed in the hot tub daily, got a great sweat in the sauna and plunged in the trout pond! The trout are huge and we really enjoyed feeding them! I was amazed at how fully stocked the studio was and the honey that was available for use was INCREDIBLE! We found out that Carl and Stephanie are beekeepers and the honey came from their bees! Asheville and the small towns in the area have so much to offer! We enjoyed downtown, food trucks, shopping, breweries, and we hiked for 3 hours on Mt. Pisgah! We are so thankful for the wonderful hospitality of Carl and Stephanie! We will definitely be staying there again!!!

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Creekside. The cabin was very clean and cozy. The hosts communicated with us before we arrived and greeted us with fresh flowers and a note. While we did not use the sauna, the hot tub was a wonderful treat. The studio is a bit of a drive to Asheville but we were willing to trade that for the peace and quiet.

5 stars is not a high enough rating in our opinion.
Creekside studio is spectacular.
We had thought we would spend a considerable amount of time driving to and from Asheville every day. After spending our first entire day at the property, we decided just to stay and spend our time enjoying everything Creekside had to offer. We found a very nice grocery store about 15 minutes away so we stocked up on groceries and stayed in most of our trip. The kitchen was impressively stocked. Everything one needed could be found.
Visiting the Finnish sauna became a nightly ritual.
Every morning I would have my tea while sitting on the dock feeding the trout. I even started naming some that were identifiable. Yes, we jumped in the pond after the sauna...... so exhilarating. On cooler evenings, we made good use of the wood burner.
This place is truly magical and healing for the soul. We never turned on the television. Sitting outside on the deck listening to the sounds of nature was enough. We are looking forward to returning to this lovely place.
The hosts are very welcoming and accommodating. They were easy to get in touch with before and during our stay. I will recommend Creekside Studio to anyone who is visiting the area.

This property was awesome and exactly like the listing. Very small and cozy but just what you want to have for a mountain getaway! They provided everything you needed to make fires in the wood stove and sauna and it was very easy to do. The sauna is a little walk up the yard but so worth it and they provided towels and robes. The kitchen had every spice and condiment we needed as well as coffee and tea! Very easy to drive up to and not too far from grocery stores, gas stations, and downtown Asheville (30 min). Very close to an access point to the Blue Ridge Parkway. The hot tub was very nice and located in the very private back porch/back yard where you can’t see your neighbors but you can hear the creek and see the stars! Carl and Stephanie were easy to communicate with and were so kind when we had to check out a little late. Would definitely recommend staying here with one or maybe two other people and we hope to come again someday!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. The property was clean and had some amenities that you just don’t find at other places. The hot tub was great in the evenings while listening to the creek beside the studio. The fireplace was also very relaxing and warm. We didn’t get a chance to use the sauna but hopefully we will be able to on our next stay. The location of the studio is perfect in our opinion. You are close enough to enjoy Asheville with out the hustle and bustle of being too close. Thanks to the again to the host for the great hospitality!

We really enjoyed the property inside and out. It is comfortable with amenities that you don't find in many rentals. My wife spent much of the time right on the property enjoying the hot tub and sauna house when we weren't out visiting the loads of good breweries in the area. The place had everything we could ask for in a much-needed vacation away. Owners were there for any questions and were genuinely good people towards us. We are planning on a return as soon as we are able to.

Spent a week here with my wife on our honeymoon. Great spot to go explore Asheville (about 25 min drive), drive the Blue Ridge Parkway,
hike, or just relax at the cabin.

This spot is perfect, especially in the Fall among the changing colors. We were close to everything, yet completely secluded - we hiked, biked and drank our way through everything greater Asheville has to offer. Coming back to this spot was the icing on the cake. We can’t think of a better, more equipped rental that offers this level of seclusion and space for relaxation, while also having everything we needed to stay put if we wanted to. The sharp chef’s knives stood out as something rarely thought of, yet so important. The details are key to 5⭐️Also the 🐠🐠🐠

My husband and i rented this property for a week for our anniversary . It was everything we hoped and was a very relaxing getaway. Listening to the creek and feeding the fish were out favorite part of this property. We also enjoyed the hot tub especially after a long day hiking on the blue ridge trail. Thank you Carl and Stephanie for opening your home to vrbo..such a gem.
