About this cottage rental
This private, cozy, year-round, cottage for two, with king-sized bed, perches on a rise amid four wooded acres overlooking Coast Guard Beach in the Cape Cod National Seashore. Kitchenette with two-burner stove, microwave, toaster oven, electric frying pan, blender, BBQ, and refrigerator. The beach and ocean, a three minute walk away, can be viewed from the deck, the bed, the dining table, or the living room couch. Bicycle trail nearby. Birds and wild animals galore. Nauset marsh nearby. Seashore Visitors' Center two miles away. Numerous restaurants to tempt the palate.
Katudala's is a quiet refuge for folks in search of a place to hang their hat, relax, sunbathe, go for a walk on the beach, or on numerous National Park trails, go birding or biking, spend the day in Martha's Vineyard/ Nantucket, go antiquing in Dennis/Yarmouth; or just want to spend a quiet day of reading, painting, or writing as you view the Atlantic for inspiration.
Excerpts from the 'Log' say more than ads:: '...We saw the turkeys and chicks, Baltimore Oriole, the pair of cardinals, and seals at the beach. No fox or dear this year. We spent lots of time relaxing on the deck reading, walked the beach. Enjoyed great food at Finely JP's, Blackfish, Sam's Deli & ice cream at Nauset Ice Cream. Wish we could stay longer. Alas, must go back to work.' from New Hampshire
'...we were able to slow down from our usual routine and enjoy many things: the birds, deer, rebbits, turkeys and their babies, walks, the ocean, CC Museum of Art, some local friends, books (Jeff - 4, Deb - 3), etc.. I broke my rule of 'no TV or news' on vacation and watched a little to keep up with the campaign, especially Hillary's 'exit' speech. I didn't want too many surprises when I get back to the real world. Until next time...' from Connecticut
More excerpts: '...I appreciate the quiet time and the at home cozy feeling....'
'After eleven years we've revisited Katudala's to find it the same as it was then: private and personal, charming and delightful with seas, sky, sand, and all of nature's trimmings thrown into the bargain!...' from Hohenweg SWITZERLAND
Wonderful holiday here (again!!). This is a beautiful place to take time out of a busy life and enjoy the beauty of nature. We've walked, cycled, relaxed and we find outselves going home with a feeling of peace. the creatures have been entertaining as usual - especially the turkeys. The sunsets and moonlight nights spectacular.
thanks you again for your hospitality - and introduction to little necks. See you again next year.

Some blank verse?: Like a very subtle wine, we had
all our senses met with joy by
the Katudala
The sweet smell after the rain.
The light on the sea, early morning.
Sounds of birds and winds
We walked to Nauset light and
back; our feets will remember
the sand and the ways it moves
under you
The rain wanted everything green!
...and almost succeeded...
Thanks you for this (too short) time in
your peaceful place on the Atlantic.

Like Coming Home
The perfect place to rejuvenate and relax after these two long years of lockdowns from COVID-19. As soon as I got out of the car it felt like coming home. Kathy was there to greet us and catch us up on events. Pam visited in the evening for a chat and to make sure we were comfortable.
This home is perfect for two, with ocean views and sounds. Coast Guard beach is my favorite place on the Cape and this is as close as you can get. Down the short hill and across the road.
The cottage is well supplied and the king sized bed is extremely comfortable. The view is beautiful. The yard is artfully designed with wildlife abounding. The turkeys are a treat. Bird song and ocean sounds and views, It doesn’t get any better.
Thank you Kathy and Pam for a wonderful vacation.

Serenity abounds
This place is great! Wonderful location, and we felt completely comfortable in this rental. The huge picture window with the ocean in view is so peaceful. We will be back for a longer stay as soon as we can make it here again from Washington state. Thanks much to Nat and Kathy for a beautiful respite.

Wonderful stay
Nat and Kathy are among the most hospitable people I have ever met. The cottage is in a perfect location, close to coast guard beach, and filled with light. It was wonderful to find that the real cape cod still exists.

A Great time away.
My wife and I try to get to the cape each year, and Katudala's is our absolute favorite. The view of the ocean and the short walk to Coast Guard Beach has got to be the best way to spend some relaxing time. Rain or shine, its always a great time.

Everything is magical in this cottage by the sea. You have a ringside seat to all that nature has to offer. Cozy, with a great view. Close to everything in Eastham and beyond. Nat, Kathy and Pam are kind and gracious hosts who feel like old friends as soon as you meet them.

Wonderful spot overlooking the ocean
I enjoyed my vacation VERY much! It is a lovely, peaceful location on a hill just a short walk from the beach. The cottage is delightful and well maintained, with views of Coast Guard beach from the living room where you can see the sunrise each morning. I highly recommend staying here!

One of the most beautiful spaces
We were so happy to be warmly welcomed into this amazing cottage in Eastham for the second time. Even in February, walking on the property down to the beach is stunning and relaxing. Being able to warm up on the couch and continue to have a spectacular view makes it even more worthwhile.
We also love to explore the cape, especially nearby seafood options and the quick ride up to Provincetown.
Thank you for sharing your space with us!

Lovely cottage
We enjoy the Cape in winter and this lovely cottage helped out greatly.
We endlessly walked beaches and when we stayed in, the view was fabulous right from the couch.
Pam told us about watching the sunrise from our bed and we did, beautiful.
The cottage has everything one needs.
In short, we had a great stay.

Always Lovely
Our visits at Nat's and Kathy's never disappoint. They are wonderful hosts, and Eastham has enough to do without the teeming masses-- we always wish we could stay longer.

Perfect Cottage by the Ocean
The cottage was perfect for a couple, with an outdoor patio, a single bedroom with a king size bed, and a wonderful view of the ocean. It is a five minute walk to the nearby National Seashore Coast Guard Beach, and other walking trails and the seashore visitor center are nearby. We also enjoyed viewing all the activity at the bird feeders, and especially the flock of wild turkeys that appeared daily. The hosts, Nat and Kathy Goddard, lived in the adjacent house and were very welcoming and helpful.

Peaceful, pretty and positively perfect
Where do I start? Are there enough superlatives to describe this property? This year (2018) was our 15th visit and as you can imagine we love it here and would highly recommend a visit. The house itself is roomy with open plan sitting/kitchen/diner area, bedroom with king size bed, spacious bathroom and outdoor shower. Although there are numerous good restaurants in the area self catering is made easy with the well equipped kitchen. The location is a VERY short stroll to beautiful Coast Guard Beach, cycle path and walking trail. Your hosts, Kathy and Nat, are very welcoming and knowledgeable about the area and can give you good advice about restaurants, places to visit etc. Even if you decide to have a lazy day at the house you can sit out on the deck (weather permitting), listen to the ocean, be entertained by the wildlife and generally switch off from the real world.
I could write a full length novel extolling the virtues of this property but the best way to experience it is by booking and making the trip yourself!!!!!!

Relaxation
You can see the ocean from almost everywhere in the house. Peaceful. Quiet. Short walk to the bike path and Coast Guard Beach. Birds singing and turkeys walking by. Hate to leave.

A wondereful place to get away
The place had everything we wanted. The cottage was well equipped with everything you could think of. I loved we could see the ocean from the cottage and could hear the surf at high tide. I was lucky enough to wake up early enough to see the sun rise from the living room picture window as I sat having my morning tea one day. It was conveniently located and we were able to get to some favorote restaurants in very little time on the nights we decided not to cook. It was very private but the owners were available if we had any questions. This cottage brought back fond memories as it is a very short distance from my grand parents former home that I grew up spending time at as a child. And it is just a few minutes from my favorite beach of all time Coast Guard Beach. We spent many hours walking the beach looking for the perfect stones. All in all we had a wonderful time and will definitely be back.

Pretty Perfect
I can't imagine a more perfect place for our first Cape Cod experience. Katadula Cottage was authentic "cape cod" charming & had everything we needed and more, including an awesome view. Kathy and Nat were perfect hosts.. available for questions & suggestions, but otherwise respected our privacy.
The location, within the National Seashore, was ideal for exploring everything Cape Cod offers. The beach, marsh and nature walks were just steps away. Wild turkeys greeted our arrival and were daily visitors. The cottage provided binoculars for bird watching from the picture window or while sitting on the deck. Whether we chose to explore Provincetown, Wellfleet, Chatham, or Hyannis, we were always just a short ride away. April/May was the perfect time time to visit & avoid crowds and the perfect season to see migrating whales. Our Dolphin Whale watching adventure out of Provincetown was amazing with over 34 sightings and close encounters.
We enjoyed making breakfast and other meals in the cottage and recommend pizza at local
Fairway, take out seafood at Mac's Market (very fresh & great selection), and The Bookstore in Wellfleet. Our favorite, however, was Mac's Shack in Wellfleet. The steamers and lobster were cooked to perfection here and the covered outdoor patio was delightful. Our 5 night stay was wonderful & we look forward to many more visits. We found Perfection at Katadula!

Most comfortable stay
This is by far the most comfortable rental. Just the right size for a couple with the best views. Loved looking at the Atlantic each morning from bed and each evening from the living room. I could live here forever!
Only cooked dinner one night because the Wellfleet oysters were just too tempting. The kitchen area was adequate for breakfast each morning and our one spaghetti dinner.
I love this area the most for Coast Guard beach. The marsh walk is a must and connects to the Salt Pond visitors center. I really liked that we could walk out the door and take a hike. The Audubon Sanctuary is close by as well as some other great places to walk or hike. We walked 5-6 miles every day. And of course we made our annual trip to Province Town to have dinner st Nappys.
Our hosts, Kathy and Nat are very pleasant and welcoming. They provided a very comfortable home for us with lots of information about this area.

Lovely
My wife and I had a lovely three night stay at this charming cottage recently. Great access to one of the best beaches on Cape Code - Coast Guard Beach - and a lovely view of the ocean from the living room, bedroom, and deck. Plus, the owners and hosts, Nat and Kathy, were the perfect hosts, warm and gracious, but completely respectful of our desire for privacy. We're coming back!

We spent a very nice time at Eastham. The place is marvelous and Nath and Cathy are really nice. Everything was perfect.

We have stayed at this property since 2003 and have never considered anywhere else for our annual trip to Cape Cod. It's location, practically on Coast Guard beach, is ideally situated for for accessing the myriad of walks, cycle paths and water activities on the Upper and Mid Cape. The owners, Kathy and Nat are beautiful hosts - not intrusive but readily extend the hand of friendship. There is plenty to keep you occupied on your holiday but I can recommend just sitting on the deck at dawn seeing and hearing the wildlife waking up, during the day watching the birds on the feeders or the chipmunks chasing each other and in the evening enjoying a glass and lobster dinner - with the sight and sound of the Atlantic Ocean as a backdrop. The property itself is ideal for two people - cosy but not small, a huge bed, well equipped kitchen, indoor and outdoor shower, comfortable seating area and, as previously mentioned, a welcoming deck. You certainly won't be disappointed if you book a break here and you will want to return again and again.

The views from the main room window are amazing, we often took our meals there, as it was a little too cold to sit on the deck, Nat and Kathy are hospitable hosts with an incredible eye for detail. It's only place we've stayed in where there were things like sewing materials, sticky tape and scissors, things you don't pack, but often need! An ideal spot for nature lovers, photographers and those wanting to get away from the noise and haste of everyday life. We can quite understand why people come back time and time again, we certainly hope to.

Delightful cottage, location and hosts! Stayed at Katudala in May during the cool spell and happy to have a cozy spot to enjoy the array of song birds, wild turkeys and hawks. Traveled the cape from Orleans and Brewster to P-town, bayside and oceanside all while enjoying fresh seafood! Highly recommend the cottage with views of the Atlantic, 3 minute walk to the beach, access to marsh boardwalk and wood trail. Come enjoy this wonderful location!

My lady friend and I had the most wonderful time at the Cape, and it all began with renting out the perfectly located and lovely cottage, Katudala. It has everything you need for a pleasant stay. It's an attractive looking place, thats very well kept and clean, with a very comfy king size bed, nice full bathroom (with an outside shower option as well), an entertaining living area, plus accommodating kitchen. The living area and bedroom have a nice view of the ocean through beautiful bay windows (I enjoyed watching the sunrise sparkling across the morning water). The landscape is also nice and well kept. It's a quiet area too which I like, giving it that relaxing feeling. The owners, Nat and Kathy, are very friendly and make you feel right at home. They are very happy to provide for your needs in the cottage, as well as providing useful and interesting information on exploring the Cape. They have been a pleasure to talk with and be around. I look forward to going back someday, and I highly recommend, Katudala, for those considering a vacation to the Cape. I think Eastham is a good place to rent if you want to explore much of the Cape, as its near the center of Cape Cod, allowing you to travel both ends withing 45 minutes. If you enjoying biking, the Cape Cod Rail Trail is just a few minutes away from the cottage. I just loved my stay. Thanks Nat and Kathy.
