Suz and Ric were great and the place was perfect. Close to everything and just a gem.
We can say enough good things and hope to be back.

My son and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Suze and Paul were gracious hosts who anticipated our every need. The cottage was well-appointed, tastefully-decorated and clean. I loved using the outdoor shower. We were pleased to have use of bicycles provided and found easy access to the bike path. Another afternoon was spent at the beach, a short walk from the cottage. Conveniently located close to Salt Pond Visitor's Center, we left our car and took the bus to Provincetown for the day. Perhaps one benefit of aging is that people 60+ ride free! With so much to see and do at the Cape, this location was perfect. Thanks for a great time!

Just what we were looking for, very nice cottage that is clean and dry with everything needed for a stay on the Cape. Excellent outside shower, outdoor seating, kitchen, and the AC operated just like goldilocks, just right! This is a quiet place off the road to enjoy some time in a book or just lounging around. It is a little further out and we did travel a bit to see some of the sights, but we thought it was well worth it! The caretakers were very helpful and all of the communication was good. We will be staying again if there are any openings in the schedule!

The kitchen had everything we needed. King bed was wonderful! Tub and bathroom were great. The outdoor spaces were wonderfull, they even had cushions for the adirondack chairs. It was so nice to have morning coffee outside and watch the birds at the feeders and wild turkeys roam the yard. Suz and Rick were attentive but respected our privacy and have a wealth of local knowledge about things to do and where to eat. The outdoor shower was great (I want one). There are air conditioners both upstairs and downstairs that really helped with the heat and humidity. The bike/walking trail to the beach was very close so you could get to ... beach in about 15-20 minutes by bike. They provide many bikes for adults and kids that were adequate for the ride. The stairs to the bedroom are a little steep so take that into consideration if that's an issue for you. But the house is cozy and comfortable and kind of funky. We loved this place and will return next summer.

I really enjoyed my stay in the cottage. It has everything you need for a holiday, it is cosy and well equipped and close to the beach and good seafood restaurants.
I really enjoyed the outdoor shower, and being out in the nature and all outdoor spaces.

I don't drive and this property was perfect as it is walkable to the bus and the beach. Suz and Ric were wonderful. I had hurt my foot and they were very solicitous. The property is beautiful because they maintain it so well. The cottage could use a nice chair to sit in. Can't wait to go back!

We enjoyed our stay here in Cape Cod. The location was great and the photos of the place were accurate. The caretakers Rick and Sues were friendly and helpful. We particularly enjoyed the Whale watching in Provincetown. Overall we had a good vacation from spending time on the nearby National Seashore beaches to watching the sunsets on the bay side. Seeing the wild turkeys strolling about was an added bonus.

We chose this rental for its convenient location. Then we discovered it was a beautiful home away from home, with caring hosts and delightful grounds. We plan to come back.

End of season escape
Saltbox is a wonderful spot. We were there late in the Cape Cod (late Sept) and found it a perfect escape for solitude, quiet, and nature. It is wonderfully surrounded by trees. Morning runs to the lighthouse and happy hours at beaches a mile or two away. The home was great for two. Living room and loft. The knotty pine and rustic charm inside, wild turkeys and Adirondack chairs outside. Out back is probably the nicest outdoor shower I’ve been. Hope to back to soon.

Serene Cape Hideaway
This property was incredible! It was a tucked away paradise but close to the Coast Guard Beach, rail trail, and all cape amenities. The cottage was great - perfect for 2 people. Kitchen was well stocked with utensils and cooking equipment. We cooked almost every meal for a week! The outdoor space was so peaceful and the perfect spot to be away from others! Six and Rick were great hosts, very welcoming and safe. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks!

Our stay was wonderful! The only unexpected thing was the proximity to the main house, yet privacy was well appreciated!

A Classic Cape Cod Vacation
My husband and I had a wonderful time staying on this very special Cape Cod property. This is a classic cottage/cabin; knotty pine, vintage furnishings, and blue willow plates. It is a great place to slow down and take a trip back in time. The cottage also comes with a hammock, a charcoal grill, a picnic table, Adirondack chairs, and a wonderful outside shower. The gazebo on the property is an architectural gem is a re-purposed belfry from an old Methodist church that was demolished back in the 60’s. In there you will find a picnic table where you can play a game, have a beverage and safely enjoy a passing thunderstorm. The main house, built in 1680, is one of oldest homes on Cape Cod. This central location has a setting that is park-like, peaceful and off the beaten path.
Suze and Rick were welcoming and super helpful in suggesting places to eat out and take in local music. The home is in the National Seashore. We loved the easy access to the 22 mile long Cape Cod Rail Trail as well as the two mile bike trail to the Coast Guard Beach. The Cape Cod Rail Trail is all paved, and relatively flat, so it’s easy going. We biked the six miles south to Nickerson State Park where we found Cliff Pond, excellent for swimming, (just watch out for the poison ivy along the path). We also biked up to Wellfleet. At the PB Boulangerie Bistro on the bike path we found the most amazing selection of breads and pastries ever. From there we biked less than a mile to Lecount Beach and from there walked the mile up the beach to White Crest Beach and watched the seals along the way. We look forward to coming back!

Rustic charm in a quaint cabin with beautiful outdoor spaces. Convenient access to beach.
Cabin has all necessities for a Cape Cod vacation. The king size bed was very comfortable, but with the only bathroom being up a steep narrow staircase, this is not a property for someone with mobility issues. The downstairs beds would work for young children, but they would need to go upstairs for the bathroom. The outdoor shower is absolutely lovely, with flowers and woods out the head-height window! The caretakers are accessible and helpful should you need anything. Plenty of towels and beach chairs and a reasonably stocked kitchen mean you don’t need to pack much. The air conditioning is only one window unit downstairs for both floors, so if you NEED to be cool, this might be a problem. We loved sitting outside on the Adirondack chairs listening to the birds while sipping coffee or wine. We went to Coastguard Beach nearly every day, which was very convenient by tram or bike (you will need to pay National Park fees for the beaches—$60 covers your vehicle for the week or you can pay $20/day. If you bike to the beach, I think you can avoid these fees altogether.)
Overall, this was a great location from which to explore the Cape. We spent evenings in Wellfleet, Provincetown, Dennis, and Chatham—all reasonable drives after a day on the beach in Eastham. If you like rustic charm, have no mobility issues, are not exceptionally tall (ceiling heights are low—under 7ft upstairs), and are looking for a peaceful Cape Cod vacation, this is a great little cottage for you!

Wonderful stay in Eastham!
The Seavy's cottage, right next to the National Seashore Visitor Info. Center, was a great place to stay. The location was perfect for exploring the outer Cape, with restaurants and shops nearby. The cottage was cozy with a comfy bed on the 2d floor, a very well-equipped kitchen, outdoor picnic table, grill, Adirondack chairs and a hammock. The cottage was well off busy Rte. 6 and was quiet. Lovely grounds and a little pond with turtles to check out.

Charm of Old Cape Cod
My wife and I were guests of Sue and Paul in August of 2011. Not only was the cottage and its location reminiscent of the unchanging qualities of the Cape we remembered from our living there in the past, but also Paul and Sue were great hosts. The cottage is well located, convenient to Orleans, Cape Cod Bay, the ocean beaches, Wellfleet and Provincetown. The Cape is a great summer playground. Their cottage makes it perfect.

Beautiful!
We just returned from a week's vacation. We wish we could have stayed longer! We loved this romantic cottage and its quiet location. The owners are very sweet and helpful. Our child had such a great time exploring the grounds with wild turkeys, snapping turtles... we even spotted a deer. A true gem!

Awesome family vacation spot!
This cottage is situated within the National Seashore area and is located centrally to everything on Cape Cod. The best kept secret about this rental is the owners who stay in the main house on the grounds. I felt they made our entire vacation complete. They have everything there you forget at home, and are a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the Cape. We spent time with them everyday and even had a cookout together! They made us genuinely feel at home and at ease. Great vacation spot for couples with two children and they even have an cottage style apartment connected to the main house if grandparents or other family members want to join in! It is rented sepearately so be sure to ask! The bike trail to Coast Gaurd Beach and Nauset Light Beach is just pedals away and a perfect distance for small children to ride as well. (about 1.5 miles one way to Coast Gaurd Beach) Great for running as well-you can go 3 miles to about 6.2 if you continue to Nauset Light Beach. The bay side beaches are a short drive away and the kettle ponds are all over. Great Pond has the best swimming experience in Eastham if you prefer warmer/calmer water and is very close as well. This was our first time to the Cape and we will definitely be going back next year to stay with Sue and Paul!
