We have stayed here several times over the last 15 years and never regretted it. The Bay is so beautiful, and to swim in Lake Superior is a real treat. The location is quiet and a good jumping point for day trips to other sights in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The cabin works very well for our family with a nice blend of "cabin feel" and modern touches. Chris is a great host and very responsive to any questions. Highly recommended!

Beautiful wooded setting on a great beach. Even though it was a bit cool the kids got a lot of swimming in. The cabin is cozy but comfortable with a group. Everything you need is there.

This was the 3rd time we've stayed at Chris's beachfront home. Everything was perfect - from the chrck-in process to the morning we left. Frosted mugs in rhe freezer to firewood that is provided - and just steps from beautiful Lake Superior.

This was our third year staying at this property and we had a great time. The cabin is always very clean and cozy. The view from the deck can’t be beat and the beach is great for swimming. Can’t wait to return.

Squaw Beach House is the ultimate beach cottage getaway. It has all of the essentials one needs to unwind, recharge and appreciate the UP!

This is the second year we've stayed at Chris's and it's been THE BEST location and cabin we've stayed at in the UP.
The cabin is quaint, very clean, has the feeling of the northwoods and is just steps away from an amazing beach. You can see the sunrise and sunset - walk three miles along the bay (round trip) and see just a handful of people. Chris provides everything - from towels and firewood - to frosted mugs in the freezer!

Beautiful escape - would stay again. Only downside is one week isn't enough.

We had a great time at the beach house. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. We loved the covered porched and spent many hours just staring at Lake Superior from it. A great place to decompress.

This was our second stay at this house. The location cannot be beat! The beach is sandy and private with amazing views of sunrises and sunsets. Easy drive to many waterfall hikes and also Marquette for shops and restaurants. The hosts were quick to answer any questions.

Right on the edge of Lake Superior, this house is the perfect place to disconnect and recharge. We had a wonderful time. The house was clean, the location perfect with a pristine beach and an absolutely amazing view of the nighttime sky. We will return.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week in the lakeside cabin. The views from the deck are outstanding and the 4 miles of beach are a great daily walk. The cabin is well maintained and the kitchen is well stocked with all the equipment and tools necessary for all our cooking needs. Everything was wonderful and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay for another week or two. Thank you Chris & Gina!

This cabin is all that we expected and more. Everything was as good as it could be-highly recommended. Communication with the owner was "spot on".

Perfect house with a woodsy/on the lake Up North feel. Great attention to detail with the accomodations. Breathtaking setting right on soft sandy beach and Lake Superior, yet still in the woods. Owners very responsive and have provided all the comforts of home. Our second year staying here. Stairs are steep to the upstairs bedroom and 2nd bath if dexterity is an issue.

My family had a great time at the house. The description of the house is accurate and the pictures do not do it justice. We were looking for a place to disconnect and this was it. We were very fortunate to have excellent weather the week we were there, but there were plenty of movies and games should we have had to spend more time inside. The only complaint from my oldest child was that cell reception with our provider (AT&T) was spotty. Though, my wife and I considered that a benefit. We will be back.

We were drawn to the image of a rustic log cabin directly on the Superior beach. Our guests were amazed at how comfortable it was.,
The deck was a whole other dimension for sunset and wine and storytelling.
The beach was so clean! The water was clearer
Than any we’ve seen. Kayak greatly appreciated
We loved our trips to the red sandstone cliffs where you can paddle right up to the base of the cliff and marvel at the strangely patterned rocks with, curled, stripes, and donut shapes.
We rented 2 more kayaks from Paul down at Tranquility Haven. He delivered them to our place for a good price. Highly recommend you do this!
Until next year….

My husband, adult daughter, her boyfriend and I stayed here for the second year in a row. Such a beautiful spot to relax, kayak, bicycle, hike, fly fish, and sunbathe! The front porch is perfect! And the new stainless firepit on the deck overlooking the beach and lake is a great addition. We hope to return soon!

We had an amazing week at the beach. Everything about this location was perfect. We loved the beach (even though weather was cooler than we would have liked- didn't stop us from swimming almost every day). The cabin is beautiful and clean. Chris and Gina have thought of everything to make for a perfect vacation. Thanks for sharing!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Chris' cabin in Big Bay. The house has everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay--a fire pit, grill, a newly-updated deck (not in the pictures) with lounge chairs to enjoy the lake view, private beach, an updated kitchen, indoor wood stove, and lots of board games. This place is truly a hidden treasure!

This home was much more then we expected! We will for sure be staying here again if we plan to be in the UP!

Cabin was cute, up to date and in great shape, owner was responsive. The beach and lake are sandy very far out - chilly but great for swimming, and great for kids. Highly recommended. We would go back.

We stayed at this Big Bay cabin for a week and what a week it was! I was able to cross TWO items off my Bucket List!! We saw the Northern Lights and I climbed nearby Hogback Mountain! The cabin was even nicer than the owner presented. It was clean, spacious, and comfy. The bay is absolutely gorgeous...surrounded by cliffs. We kayaked out to the cliffs and enjoyed the close up view of the shear face with waterfalls and caves. The beach was totally sandy...not a rock in sight and the sand was the softest I've ever felt. I don't think I sat in a chair or wore shoes at the beach the entire week! The night sky was like black velvet and we enjoyed a meteror show every night! The owner was very easy to work with and he let us bring our family dog, which we very much appreciated. She had a wonderful time swimming and retrieving her ball! Our grandkids enjoyed the swing set, the bunk room, and a great selection of toys and books. The cabin was very well stocked with campfire wood, which we also appreciated. There's only one small issue. Please add a second garbage can. Even if it's not secured like the one you have now. I didn't mind separating the food/non-food trash, but the garbage can filled up and I didn't have anywhere to put the rest of the trash. Overall, I highly recommend this vacation paradise.

We stayed at this property for a week with our 5 kids. This cabin wound up being one of our favorite vacations ever! The actual cabin was like Pottery Barn meets the UP. It was so well done and well maintained. My 2 younger girls had an adorable room and I would sit on the porch every morning and drink my coffee looking at Lake Superior. Complete privacy, the water is protected by the bay and we had great swimming. They even had a paddle boat we took to some nearby cliffs. We went to a fish fry at the a Thunder Bay Inn, rented kayaks from Big Bay Outfitters and explored Marquette, about 30 minutes away. We loved the quiet peaceful setting and how modern the cabin was given the somewhat remote location . Our 5 kids thought it was the best cabin ever, and last year we stayed in a 4,000 s.f luxury log cabin in St. Ignace. This was better!
