About this house rental
Lancaster House is in the heart of Baltimore's vibrant Fell's Point historic district. While retaining the charm of a 200-plus-year-old home, this three-story townhouse has been completely updated with modern amenities. Materials include oak, slate, and ceramic flooring, Baldwin brass hardware, stainless-steel counters, Williamsburg paints, and custom cabinetry. Includes eat-in kitchen with cathedral ceiling and skylight, loft overlooking kitchen, private enclosed courtyard with dining area and gas grill, ceramic-tiled bath with glass block shower, spiral staircase, and lots of charm.
The National Register Historic District of Fell's Point is an exciting maritime community with many diligently-restored, 18th- and 19th-century buildings. The cobblestone streets are alive with restaurants, taverns, theaters, art galleries, antique and vintage clothing shops, and other unique establishments. Plus, it is just a short walk or water taxi ride to the many attractions of Baltimore's famous Inner Harbor, and Little Italy's numerous restaurants.
Fell's Point is the ideal location for exploring the National Aquarium in Baltimore, the Maryland Science Center, Harborplace, ESPN Zone, Federal Hill, Fort McHenry, Oriole Park at Camden Yards, Ravens Stadium, etc. Also, Washington, DC is just one hour away and New York City is three hours north.
NOTE: Several previous guests have mentioned in their reviews that we gave them complimentary water taxi passes. We regret that we are no longer able to provide this amenity. The water taxi company changed hands and the new owners no longer offer transferrable annual passes. The new policy requires annual passes to be imprinted with the holder's name, and only that person is allowed to use the pass.

This is a wonderful, quirky historic home in a great location. It is in easy walking distance to many restaurants and the water taxi, all of which we took full advantage.
Richard has presented the history of the building in photos on the wall, to the point we wanted to meet him and get more information. He is a delightful host, and can certainly give you the run down on the history of the area. It is a terrific location and we hope to return, thank you Richard.

A lovely home in the perfect location! Ability to walk, bike, or take water taxi to anything we wanted to do. Richard was very communicative and easy to work with. Look forward to staying here again next year for our anniversary.

My friends came in from Atlanta. We all loved the house. Very historic and old-time cozy. We went to the Braves at O's game and Fleet Week was happening. That was a nice bonus we did not know about when plannng. The house had everything for a long stay. Communication with Richard (the owner) was good. I recommend the place for a rental. You will not be disappointed.

This home was perfect. Excellent location in Fells Point!
Host is very responsive. Parking pass is a huge plus. Parked directly across the street from the house and didn’t need to move car all weekend. Will book again if we return to the area.

Had a great weekend with family and friends. Location was perfect and easy access to nearby restaurants. Arrived, found parking easily and as suggested didn't leave the parking space the entire weekend. Home was full of character and clean. Would stay again if visiting in the future.

This is not our first visit to the Lancaster house, And once again we were not disappointed! Its right in the heart of Fells Point close to all the action. The spiral staircase makes it interesting at times but other than that it's the ideal place if you love all Fells point and Canton have to offer.

While there are a few issues with this property, the location and charm/history makes it worth while. The shower needs some repairs, but is usable. We really enjoyed our stay.

Fell's Point Hideaway
Great location in the heart of Fell's Point, one block from the inner harbor, close to so much great food, and great way to explore inner Baltimore. Beautiful historic row house with lots of room, as long as you're up for stairs and ready to (occasionally) hunt for parking! Highly recommended!

Perfect Weekend
Three story row house with space to spread out and a kitchen with back patio perfect for congregating. Location is prime in Fells Point. 200 feet from Max’s the second largest seller of craft beers on the east coast.

Short stay in Baltimore
Expected to be a family of 5 in town for a graduation, as it turned out it was only the two of us. The house was very comfortable for us, and believe it would have been had we been at full force. Richard was very available via phone for questions. As we were also moving our daughter out after graduation, we had a large vehicle with us, and while we were somewhat concerned with the parking situation, it was a non-issue. Perfect spot was open as we pulled up, and as Richard suggests we left the car there until it was time to depart. Ubers/Lyfts are the way to get around. Will stay again if we are in the area.

Short stay in Baltimore for Conference
We (three academics attending a conference) stayed at Lancaster House in May. The house was perfect for our needs - clean, well appointed, and in a funky neighbourhood with lots of good restaurants nearby. We were able to either walk to the convention center or take the water taxi - which was a real pleasure. The house has good internet connection and plenty of space to work in. We would definitely choose to stay here again.

Super cool place, right in Fells Point, but on a side street so a little quieter. The house is fun
I will definitely stay here again. Had a really great weekend. The house has everything you need and really lets you feel like you are part of the neighborhood. It exceeded my expectations!

My family and I rented Lancaster House to attend a wedding in Baltimore. We took the water taxi to the reception. The hotel that everyone else was staying at was within walking distance so we could attend the after party easily. We saved a good amount of money renting the house instead of staying at the hotel. The house sleeps 6 easily. The beds are comfortable. One room is a loft that overlooks the kitchen. We were able to walk pretty much anywhere we needed to go. We took the train to D.C. Wish we could have spent more time out in Fell's Point but did have a good meal at the Admiral's Cup. Note that the stairs are a converted spiral staircase that can be slippery! Parking was also a challenge for those who are not used to city parking. Will stay again if we were heading back to Baltimore. Thanks Richard!

awesome house, awesome location!
My group and I really enjoyed our stay! The house had plenty of space for a group of 6 with comfortable sleeping arrangements, spacious shower and a great outdoor seating area. The location was perfect for both daily activities and fun nightlife! Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you Richard for sharing your home with us!

The perfect place
We were over here from England for a family wedding and the reception was in Fells Point. The house was in the perfect position with easy access to restaurants, bars, shops and the harbour as all in walking distance. I had never rented a house before but this was just right for 3 of us though there was room for more. Richard was wonderful and patient answering all my queries beforehand as I was slightly nervous about renting. The house was very comfortable and cosy and we had everything we needed. It felt like a proper home not just a rental home. Not only did Richard leave a welcoming vase of flowers but he had kindly bought a few goodies for which I had requested and would not take payment which was so kind of him. He was also able to offer another house for us to rent for our children which was a 5 minute walk away which belonged to a friend. Again a fabulous house. We would definitely recommend renting Lancaster House. Thank you Richard.

Fabulous Location
Rented the Lancaster house for a girls getaway baseball weekend trip. The location is awesome, just steps away from all the bars & restaurants in Fell's Point. Richard was very easy to deal with and the rental process was easy. The layout of the rowhouse was a little challenging for us -- those are steep stairs when you've had a lot of cocktails! However, it was nice to have the additional room afforded by the rental. Would definitely visit again!

Our family's favorite place!
This is our second time returning to the Lancaster House and will we surely be back again. We had a mix of kids and adults with us (6 total), and the place was perfect and comfortable for everyone! The interior has a fun and welcoming personality and my husband and I enjoyed the courtyard out back with a bottle of wine during some down time. The location is perfect and it truly has felt like a home away from home for our family. The property owner, Richard, has kindly accommodated our needs and we have especially appreciated the complimentary parking pass and water taxi passes. That saved us a lot of money on our trips! In addition, I did not realize my 7 year had left some things behind and Richard shipped them back without my asking. Our family definitely recommends this place for either a family or couples getaway!!

Accommodation, accommodation, accommodation!
This was our third time at the Lancaster House for our annual Girls’ Weekend, and we keep going back for all of the reasons others have listed. The house not only has a fascinating history but is comfortable and accommodating, with air conditioning, a washer/dryer, and a wonderfully private back patio that we use constantly: breakfast in the morning, drinks in the evening. The house is close to everything. And there is no more accommodating owner than Richard. His true desire is that his guests have a wonderful time, and it shows in every step of the rental from his initial contact to special requests (we had merely asked if there was a slow cooker at the house, and voila! One appeared on the kitchen counter the first day of our rental), parking passes for 2 cars, passes for water taxis. We highly recommend the Lancaster House to anyone who wishes to see the best Fells Point has to offer in style, ease, and comfort!

Awesome Location!
Thank you SO much for sharing the Lancaster House with us! It truly was a special visit to Baltimore! We have never stayed in the Fells Point area before and loved it! Your inclusion of the WaterTaxi passes and parking pass showed just how committed you are in making sure every guest enjoys your place AND their time in Baltimore. That same thoughtfulness was throughout your place as well. Very comfortable and well appointed. We are looking forward to a return visit in the colder months to see Fells Point in some snow maybe? Thanks again! Alan and Karen Miami, FL

Girls Weekend Getaway
My best friend got engaged and we had a girls weekend to celebrate. The location is perfect if you're looking for a weekend of great food, shopping and scenery - and all within walking distance. There was enough room for the six of us to sleep comfortably (the rooms are massive). The only downside was how small the kitchen was - it worked perfectly for the food we cooked but if you're staying for an extended period of time and have a large group the kitchen is quite small so maybe only have one or two people in there cooking or else it will get crowded quickly. If you're older and have arthritis or knee problems I probably wouldn't suggest this place due to the steepness of the stairs all the way to the third level, but other than those two MINOR setbacks this house was gorgeous and the notebook that they provide with information on the surrounding area is perfect! There are details in there for any question you may have.

A truly amazing experience!
My husband and I as well as several other production crew members stayed at Lancaster House for five weeks while were working on a film being shot in Maryland. The house served as the perfect base for our production. We enjoyed comfortable accommodations, with a well equipped kitchen, plus had enough extra space for production meetings and to store props. In the rare times when we weren’t working, we took advantage of Fell's Point's many nearby restaurants and shops- which were incredible. Fells Point is truly a unique place to stay, as the sense of community and neighborhood pride really make for a fantastic spot. Lancaster House is the ideal place to spend an extended stay in Baltimore.

Highly recomended, great location and great property!
I arranged for college room-mates to come into town for a long weekend and discovered this property when looking for a space for everyone to stay.
All I can say is "Great!"
We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner nearby, short walking distance to great funky establishments, lotsa live music, and fun crowds.
During the day, everyone explored Fells Point, Canton, Harbor East and Canton
There is a LOT to do within a very small walking distance.
There's a Whole Foods nearby if you are inclined to make meals and the kitchen is small and well-provisioned
Parking is tight, but we had no problem since all the guests were visitors so we only had one car (mine. I live nearby)....the 'included' neighborhood parking pass allowed me to park within 50ft of the house every time I was there.
If you have more cars, there is a large and reasonably priced parking garage basically around the corner.
all-in-all, highly recommended

Loved it!
This is a wonderful house right in the heart of the Fells Point neighborhood, which is full of historic row houses and, in the business areas, funky bars, restaurants, and shops. A relatively new plus is the nearby (a few blocks away in walking distance) of a movie theater, a CVS, and a Whole Foods, these in addition to the Broadway Market, which is a half block in the other direction. The latter features a terrific Polish deli (the sliced meats and cheeses make for great sandwich fare) and a fresh seafood store, which I cleaned out of shucked oysters one night to make oyster stew for a dinner party. The house does not come with private parking, but there is a parking pass and we didn't find the parking to be bad (plus, once you park you really don't need to drive anywhere since everything is in walking distance, or water taxi distance, including downtown and points around the Inner and outer harbors, like Ft. McHenry and Federal Hill).
The house is warm, comfortable, and inviting, and was great for our family (my husband, me, one teenager, one 7-year old, and my brother, up from the D.C. area, who took the couch, which folds out). The owner has done some remarkable rehabbing over the years, and we were so impressed with the finishes, the decor, and the beautiful wood spiral staircase. This is not a good house for anyone who is challenged physically, but if you're game for multiple levels up narrow (and beautiful) staircases, then this house is for you.
There is some street noise (revelers from the nearby bars), but it wasn't bothersome and was only intermittent. We loved that on Christmas Day the town criers, in Colonial dress, walked through the streets ringing in Christmas greetings. It really brought home the history of the neighborhood, which is one of the oldest in Baltimore.
We will definitely stay here again!
