If you've ever dreamed of staying in a lighthouse, this is the vacation rental for you. This recently constructed Newport home features the same floor plan and exterior as the old Yaquina Bay lighthouse, but with a chic interior, modern home comforts, and an amazing location adjacent to the coast.
With the beach in your backyard and Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area directly to the south, this vacation rental is perfect for families who plan to spend a lot of time exploring the great outdoors. Newport's city center is a little more than three miles south, so you're never too far from shopping, dining, or entertainment.
Inside, this home is beautifully and professionally decorated, with tasteful furnishings and a warm, soothing color palette. Subtle design elements such as rope and seashells speak to the home's lighthouse influences.
The parlor features plush furnishings, which are grouped to encourage conversation. You can also use the complimentary WiFi to stream your favorite shows to your personal device.
You'll have everything you need to prepare tasty meals for your group in the spacious open kitchen, which includes ample counter space, updated stainless-steel appliances, and convenient extras such as a French press, a blender, and a mixer. Grab a stool at the breakfast bar, or sit down at the six-person table.
Head upstairs to find this home's three bedrooms, pausing on your way to admire the banister at the bottom of the staircase, which dates to the 1890s. Two of the bedrooms feature queen-size beds, and the third bedroom has four twin-size beds, perfect for kids. The fourth bedroom in the tower, accessible via a ladder, offers a trundle bed, making it a great space for two kids. There's also one full bathroom and one half bathroom, as well as a laundry room downstairs. Altogether, up to six guests are welcome to stay the night at this vacation rental.
After a refreshing night's sleep, you'll have plenty of activities to choose from nearby. A few minutes' walk will get you from your front door to the beach at Starfish Cove, where you can stroll along the shoreline while you look for sand dollars, sea glass, or other interesting flotsam. Pack a picnic lunch and make your way to Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area for an up-close look at incredible tide pools, or get a ranger-led tour of the Yaquina Head Lighthouse.
If you need a break from the beach, head down to Newport for a day of shopping and dining downtown, or browse the art galleries on the historic bayfront. For a glimpse of life below the ocean's surface, check out the incredible exhibits at the Oregon Coast Aquarium. And be sure to visit the Yaquina Bay Lighthouse, located toward the south side of town, and take photos to compare with your unique vacation rental!

We loved our stay at the lighthouse! The home is beautiful and has a ton of historic charm. The location is fantastic, close to the highway but at the end of a quiet street. You can walk a small path that leads you to gorgeous views of the ocean and lighthouse. We will definitely be coming back for a longer stay next time.

This place was super fun, a unique experience, and an awesome home base for our trip. We stayed in this location for our marathon and it was extremely beautiful, clean, and was homey. We really enjoyed staying at this place and would love to come back some time in the future.

This home was comfortable and charming. The walk to the beach was easy. We particularly liked climbing up to the homes lighthouse tower to drink our morning coffee while watching the ocean in the distance.
This is a recommended place to stay.

This house is amazing!!! From the views from the lighthouse to the short walk to the beach the location is perfect. The details in the house construction are exceptional and it was fun to visit the lighthouse it was designed after and see the resemblance. We will definitely be staying again in the future!!! Thank you for sharing this wonderful home!

The house was clean and the lighthouse on top offered awesome views. At the end of the culdasac there is a very short path that leads to an open bluff with a grassy area and a bench overlooking the ocean. spectacular views! The beach below was very quiet. The sand is pristine and there is a family of Bald Eagles that we enjoyed watching. Bring a high quality camera. We surfed at Agate beach, visited Yaquina Head, Newport Wharf, the Aquarium and then back to the local beach for more exploring. This is a must visit for outdoorsmen/women!!!

Lovely, quiet location just north of Newport. It has ocean views listed but the ocean can really only be seen from the loft. The path to the beach is beautiful! But not terribly easy. Plenty of space for the whole family to spread out. We likely won’t stay here again ONLY because we’d love to be able to sit on the deck and see the ocean. Thank you for letting us stay!

Plenty of space for the whole family, kitchen has everything you need, beds are comfortable, and a super nice area close to the beach.

Quiet location close to town
Great location, wish beach access was easier but short drive to Agate Beach. 2 minor issues, the upstairs bathroom door handle falls off, and we didn't know when trash pickup was and bin is full.

Wonderful vacation home
We fell in love with this adorable lighthouse. It was welcoming and the adjacent beach absolutely beautiful! We really enjoyed our visit.

Amazing, not perfect
My husband, 6 year old and I spent a week at the house. The house is very charming, with its tasteful beach decor, high ceilings, large kitchen, and cool lighthouse view lookout on top. The top perch requires climbing a few ladders. Bed were comfortable. There are two trails to the beach from the house. The one at the end of the street is difficult and we did not attempt it with our 6 year old. The other trail is longer and easy, North West one block, end of 56th Street. The backyard was overgrown, and there was a fire pit we used. However, it required some decent clearing first. We would come back again as long as things were kept up.

Charming house
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this charming house. It was very comfortable, clean and in a quiet neighborhood. We loved the close access to the beach. The trail is just three houses down and to the left. We will stay here again if we are ever back in Newport.

So much charm!
We love staying in The Lighthouse at Starfish Cove. My kiddos look forward to it each year! Beautiful and charming for the grown ups while the lighthouse loft makes it whimsy and fun for the littles.

Loved it!
Short and sweet. We loved it and will probably be back next summer! The size was right. The location was right. The lighthouse and attic were a huge hit with the kids. Quiet, clean and safe spot with easy check-in and check-out. Way above average compared to our normal rental experience.

Family vacation!
This house is adorable and well equipped! Loved the decor. Bath tub was awesome and the tankless water heater was a plus!
The house was clean enough but could use a deep cleaning, floors had cereal under the kitchen table, baseboards and walls need to be wiped down and the outside of the house needs to be power washed.

Delightful!
Absolutely loved staying in this delightful home. Beautifully decorated, well-stocked, very clean, and comfortable home for our family of five's vacation. Kitchen was easy to use for cooking and baking. Enjoyed the luxurious bathtub and separate multi-nozzle rain shower. Home was just the right size for us, and the high ceilings and extra large windows made the home feel much larger. Loved the view of the Yaquina Head Lighthouse from the master bedroom. Home is in a quiet, well-maintained neighborhood. Easy drive to all Newport activities.

Magical place
We loved staying at this house! Such a stunning place with the most amazing features, its so tastefully decorated, magazine worthy! Sure it doesn’t have much of a backyard but we didn’t need it anyway. The lighthouse replica was kids favorite part! It was magical!!! We went up there every night read coastal books, told stories and looked out through binoculars. Kids were absolutely mesmerized!
As far as cleanliness, it was overall fine but the house is in definite need of good deep cleaning. Because the house is white on the inside you can see everything.
The other bad part was theres no window screens, we wanted to open windows for fresh air bugs and flies were getting in.
All in all, definitely recommend this place! We even went out looking for the secret path down to the beach, we found it by following other people’s instructions on reviews. It was very edventurous going down, private beach was a cherry on top!

Lovely home near nice beach with tidepools
I stayed in this home in February with my husband, two teens, and 3 of their friends. There was PLENTY of room. We could easily have accommodated one more person and could, potentially have had two more my using the trundle in the "nest" up the ladder.
The house is adorable, well-laid out, and very tastefully decorated in clean, beach inspired design. My 14yo loved the secret bed in the nest by the lookout tower! The full bath is so nice -we took pictures of the tiles for future design reference. It's great to have a half bath on the main level. The kitchen is large and lovely and well stocked for cooking.
Two important factors to keep in mind: heating units work well, after they have enough time, to heat the whole house if you are sure to keep all the interior doors open. There is no heat in the separate bedrooms or bathrooms. This was an issue the first night, when we arrived at the house after dark, stayed up late, then retired to cold bedrooms. We couldn't close the doors for quiet/privacy because they would block the heat. And there were no extra blankets. Extra blankets would have helped.
The interior doors are excellent: they do a great job of shutting out the noise. The walls, however, are thin. The head of our bed shared a wall with the bathroom & we cold hear all the sharp noises clearly.
So, heat and noise are issues. I would not stay here with noisy people and I WOULD arrive early enough to have several hours to get the house heated before bedtime. It IS a delightful home near an interesting beach and it very comfortably accomodates 3-6 people (7, if one is adventuresome).

Loved it!
We absolutely loved our stay in Newport and at this house. The only thing to be aware of, though, is that the 4th "bedroom" isn't actually a bedroom. It's a little nook with a twin bed and a trundle. To access it, you have to climb a ladder. It worked out well for us, but it is something to be aware of, as I know it wouldn't work for everyone. The home was pristine and beautiful. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

The dream home vacation
For two couples the house was more than adequate. We love the location back away from the hussle and bussle of it all. A very quiet and peaceful get away. Everything well stocked and neat and clean.

Excellent place to stay. Cozy and roomy for us.
We loved the place. Clean, beautiful and great area. Ocean just a short walk away. The neighbors even shared from their vegie garden.

We were sad to leave!
We would definitely stay here again. The furnishings were adorable. Attention to detail everywhere you look. The bedrooms were nice size. Plenty of room for everyone. The views are great as well. You can see the lighthouse from the master and the loft area. Location was very convenient and the walk to the beach was pretty easy. Found a great spot to watch the sunset too. We will be back someday!

Amazing Lighthouse!
We recently stayed in this home with our three young children. It's a beautiful house in a great location. The inside looks like something out of a magazine. The views are amazing. We took our kids to the lighthouse this home was renovated after which made it really fun for our kids. There's also a firepit out back, which we weren't aware of until we got there, so bring your s'mores components. There isn't much of a front or back yard for playing, but there's plenty to do in town to keep kids busy. We agreed with past reviewers that it's hard to find the beach access. Even with a reviewer's comments, I struggled to find it. To clarify, go right up the street to a little gravel road on the left (it's about 3 houses down), then follow the gravel path to the fence and bench. On the right of the bench is a little path, but bring tennis shoes for walking it. We didn't find it until we were about to leave, so didn't get to try it out, but the view from there is amazing!

Description of property is incorrect and misleading. Not clean
While on our long drive to Newport we received a phone call saying our check in was going to be delayed which they started to just offer $40.00 for the inconvenience. After going back and forth with how much of an inconvenience it really was Vacasa refunded us our cleaning fee; a cleaning fee that once we arrived I felt that shouldn't be charged in the first place. We entered and removed our shoes per the sign by the door. The floors felt like they hadn't been cleaned in weeks, stains on the area rug in the living space looked as it had never been cleaned. Found a dirty sock in one of the rooms upstairs. Multiple things had been broken or falling apart in the bathrooms. Description stated 4 twin beds in third bedroom, there is only 2. Also states "A few minutes' walk will get you from your front door to the beach at Starfish Cove, where you can stroll along the shoreline while you look for sand dollars, sea glass, or other interesting flotsam." We were unable to find any way to the beach from this house. This is just a few of the complaints that we had with our stay in this house.
I contacted Vacasa and expressed my frustrations and it has now been over 2 weeks without a return call that they said they would do.

Great house
House is beautiful with a nice beach nearby. Wouldn't necessarily recommend for families with kids. Not many kid friendly amenities in the house, plus stairs and ladders.
