About this villa rental
We invite you to savour the hospitality of Rio Santo Residences, a charming, typically Barbados stone property, designed with striking hardwood balustrades on its patios and verandahs. Nestled in a quiet cul de sac, it is undoubtedly an ideal retreat from the daily hustle and bustle.
We offer a well-appointed traditional three-bedroom house and two adjoining modern one-bedroom apartments, all on a self-catering basis.
In this three-bedroom ground floor house, you will enjoy the convenience of a large patio and wet bar; a living room, cooled by ceiling fan, that seats six comfortably; a separate entertainment area with TV, radio/stereo facilities; a kitchen fully-outfitted with large refrigerator; four-burner stove; microwave oven; toaster; kettle; pots and pans; crockery; cutlery, etc., and a laundry room equipped with washer and dryer.
You will be able to sleep six persons in the air-conditioned bedrooms and an additional two persons on the sofa-bed, if required. Two bathrooms complete this very desirable villa.
Rio Santo Residences is advantageously located close to the famous St. Lawrence Gap in Barbados, and across the street from a white sandy beach, washed by the crystal clear turquoise waters of the Caribbean sea. Mere yards away is the popular Rockley Beach.
Nearby, within walking distance, are supermarkets, banks, medical offices, pharmacy, shops, hotels, restaurants, bars and nightclubs. The area is heavily trafficked, well-lighted and safe for walking.
As the property is virtually on the bus transportation route, a car is not essential but most people elect to have one, especially for sight-seeing and travel to venues outside the immediate vicinity. For those preferring not to drive themselves, taxi service is readily available.
Within ten minutes by car are the Rockley Golf Club, the National Tennis Centre, the Garrison Historic Area (including the headquarters of the Barbados Defense Force and the Garrison Savannah horse racing track), and the Museum and Historical Society. It is about 15 minutes to the capital city Bridgetown and 20 minutes to the Grantley Adams International Airport. UNESCO designated Bridgetown and the Garrison Historic Area as an international heritage site.
The South Coast of Barbados has great appeal to the visitor. It is vibrant, with great night-life and many excellent restaurants. Mojo's is next door and a short walk away is everyone's favourite Champers Restaurant and Wine Bar. The best known area is the popular St. Lawrence Gap where you can find many popular night clubs, restaurants and bars. Also within easy reach is Oistin’s Town, famous for its fresh fish fries and down-to-earth ambience.
Rio Santo is your home away from home. From there, you can Reach Out And Touch Barbados!

Lovely, simple, spacious, super-conveniently located. Walk to beaches and supermarkets. access to buses from the main road. Great communication with hosts. What more could you want? Highly recommend if you don’t need/want super fancy.

The property is as described. Spacious, comfortable and airy in a quiet and safe location. The only blemish is that the lounge area is very hot....could benefit from a/c

From the start Anton, the landlord/owner, was amazingly friendly and patient with me. The house is well maintained, but inside a little bit aged. It is situated in a quiet and safe neighbourhood (and yes, Mojos is directly on the backside and you hear an astonishing reggeaband(ritesideofred) playing every Wednesday, but I did not mind. I was here on holidays, totally chilled, so it did not bother me at all. But there seem to be people that want to spend their holidays by the beach and then complain about the sound of the waves. Nonsense.) The bathrooms are also a bit aged and look probably due to the climate situation not so good, but they function very well.
You have easy access to the main road to use any transportation you like. The closest beach is also only a walk accross the main road away. 5 minutes walking and you reach a Massy supermarket, where you can shop anything you need. I really enjoyed it here, as well as my familymembers did.

We completely enjoyed our stay! Relaxing hours on the veranda watching parrots play in the trees, just steps from touching the sea and the charismatic Worthing beach! Perfect for the self catering traveller’s experience. Check in and check out were flawless. We had some minor wifi issues but they were resolved in a timely and professional manner. Would recommend and would also stay there again.

Location is outstanding as it is very close to the supermarket, multiple beaches, restaurants and the coast road making it easy to get on the ZR minivans. Although it is close to Mojos, noise was not an issue from the bar. It has an outstanding large front porch with a large table that made it easy to have dinners there.House is well equipped and was clean and tidy. Property manager, Anton is an absolute gentleman, easy to communicate with and he was very accommodating to our party by allowing us to check in early and store our bags at the end of our trip. Overall highly recommended!!

I have stayed at Rio Santo Residences on ten occasions and have been completely satisfied on every occasion. I and family members have rented the house on many occasions, which features a large porch with comfortable lounge chairs and table. On other occasions I have rented the apartments. The facilities in both the house and apartments are well laid out to provide very comfortable accommodation. When staying here you have convenient access to a wide selection of restaurants such as the Park Café, a five minute walk located in a beautiful tropical park. Massey grocery store is another two minute walk beyond the park. Rockley Beach is an eight minute walk. You have everything here to make a great vacation.

Our host Erskine was very responsive prior to and during our 7-night stay.
The property was as described. It was clean and in a great location within walking distance to a supermarket, convenience store, cafes, restaurants and the beach. The kitchen was adequately appointed. We only made breakfast however. Both bathrooms could benefit from some updating. The bathroom in the main bedroom is tiny and the shower very confining.
The ACs (in bedrooms only) worked great. The ceiling and floor fans in the spacious tv/sitting area offered tolerable relief from the heat.
If you aren’t a nitpicker, and want comfortable, convenient lodging at a very reasonable rate I recommend Rio Santo.
Thanks Erskine!! Hope to see you again.

Host was very communicative before arrival to make certain of no surprises. This made check in an excellent experience considering our flight was delayed and we arrived on island after 1am.
Location is perfect, close to beach and easy to get around in any direction plus many conveniences nearby.
Well prepared and clean making our stay comfortable and relaxing. Recommend this location for a value priced comfortable accommodation in safe and convenient location.

The property is spacious, and well secured, and in a safe area. The property, however, has shortcomings. The pillows are severely stained. Cracks in some of the walls. I wish I could submit my pics on the site. I have pics to show everything I speak of. The ceilings in the two bedrooms have stains, from leakage from above. Some bedsheets were stained with blood, and other stains. Upon arrival, we started cleaning. Beautiful, veranda, nice table, etc. The hot water was nonexistent most days. We called the management about the lack of hot water. Someone came to fix the issue. By the next day, the hot water disappeared again. If there’s lots of rain, there’s no hot water. A/C’s in both bedrooms. No A/C in the Living room and dining room. You’re going to be on fire, it’s so hot in those rooms.

My family had a wonderful time at this property. Close to the ocean for swimming, Grocery store, restaurants and much more. Hopefully we can visit again next year. Best was swimming with the turtles..

I grew up in Barbados, and I would say as a visitor to the island, it will be difficult to find a better property for the value this one brings. It is close as in walking distance to groceries, public transportation, beaches, restaurants, entertainment, and, if you so choose, rental cars. One thing to consider with the property the AC is only in the bedrooms; it can get a bit warm in the common areas. Sleeping in the common area may be uncomfortable

Not fancy, but perfect for our needs
Rio Santo is a lovely little house, that was just perfect for our needs. We spent a lot of time sitting on the verandah enjoying the breeze, listening to the birds, especially early in the morning. Erskine was a good host; he came and dragged all the outdoor furniture inside when the storm was approaching and checked in on us after the fact. A problem with one of the A/C units was quickly taken care of. We never discovered how to work the stove but we were surrounded by so many good places to eat it didn’t matter anyway! The one thing I might have liked was to have had the fridge turned before we got there and perhaps a very few essentials to get us started when we first arrived so we could make a cup of coffee or tea at least or have ice for cold drink. Otherwise, Rio Santo is as advertised, and was just lovely for our group! Thank you, Erskine!

Amazing location, loved the front patio!!
We had such a great stay. The house had everything we needed, the location was perfect and we loved sitting out front on the porch. Anton was so easy to get in contact with if we had any questions. Loved it! Certainly recommend.

Beautiful property, everything you need, excellent vacation, near everything, access to bus and taxi
I really hope we are able to stay here again! The kitchen was huge. Having laundry and an outdoor shower was really convenient, especially for walking back up from the beach. The common area and patio were a great hang-out space for lots of people. Everywhere we went by bus/zedar, taxi knew exactly where we were, just by saying we were by Mojo's. It was a straight, easy shot to wherever we needed to go. Thank you to our host!

Unbeatable Location
We were very happy with our stay here. We booked the 3 bdrm home- My fiance and I took the bedroom with the ensuite which was very convenient. This home is nestled in a nice quiet pocket off the main road. It felt very safe and was close to all amenities. 2 grocery stores gas station and duty free shop, restaurants all within 5 minute walk. The beach is just across the street maybe a 2 minute walk. There is a cute coffee shop around the corner as well that we got used to visiting every morning. The house is well appointed. Has everything you need and lots of space. Very clean too! The airconditioning in the rooms were awesome. I usually have a hard time falling asleep with a.c. but the unit in our bdrm was so quiet I slept like a baby! Comfy bed too. We sat out on the porch every night it was so peaceful and relaxing! Neighbors were very friendly as well! Mojos is just around the corner, great for wings burgers and cocktails. Couldn't really hear the noise from the house either. There was also a security guard hanging out in the mojos parking lot/street there at night so we felt very safe walking back to our place. I read a bit about the sewage back up issue around Worthing and the property owner mentioned it as well but we honestly wouldn't have noticed it if we hadn't been told about it. For me it was a non issue. We loved the beach across the street. Was quiet, had beautiful white sand and great waves for body surfing. We walked to Rockley beach a couple times for a more lively atmosphere by the tiki bar and again that was honestly maybe a 5 minute walk. There is a bus route that you can snag for 2 bucks and you can literally go anywhere on it haha. We would definitely stay here again. Anton was very accomodating and professional. Just an all around awesome person to deal with! Looking forward to going back!!

Rio Santo Residences, Worthing, Barbados
We were a party of 6, 4 adults and 2 young children, primarily visiting Barbados to attend a family wedding and to enjoy a week of sun and sea as our escape from a protracted winter season in Canada.
The Rio Santo Residences consists of 2 one bedroom units and a 3 bedroom home. We stayed at the 3 bedroom home and enjoyed a week of relaxation and fun. The house is well appointed. It is spacious and comfortable with all the amenities of home. The 3 bedrooms are air conditioned and the other living areas are comfortable and in excellent condition. It is situated in an ideal location ideal location, with access to everything you desire. There are 2 supermarkets in close proximity and the beach is a hop, step and a jump away from the residences. If one chooses to dine out, the St. Lawrence gap is an easy walk away and there are several fine dining restaurants located there and the ambiance along the "Gap" is to be enjoyed. Down the street is a Casino and a conservation area lies between Rio Santo and the Gap. We travelled the inexpensive way exploring beaches by taking local public transportation, and there is an over abundance of them. Hint: try to avoid the rush hour traffic and you will have no problems with the local transportation.
Anton , our host was very helpful and informative and the house we stayed at had maps and information on anything the visitor to Barbados required. We enjoyed our stay tremendously and will be back at the Rio Santo again if that is if we are able to get reservations after this review. Thank you Anton for making our stay a memorable one.

Awesome house and location
I'm so glad we picked this house. It was absolutely perfect. Well stocked kitchen, washer and dryer, two living rooms a dining room and 3 bedrooms. The front porch was the best part and so relaxing. Air conditioning in a all bedrooms and main parts of the house had fans. At first I was worried about that coming from the states but it wasn't bad at all. The location was ideal. Located at the end of a street which made you feel very safe which was important because it was just 3 women traveling. Walk across the street to the beach, Mojos Reataurant was just a little walk along with the grocery store. We took the bus for $2 (Barbados) to st Lawrence gap and to Oistins. Anton was amazing and met as very late when we arrived (12:30am) to greet us and show us around. Any problems we had he was right on it. We will stay here again with no doubt. You can't beat the price either.

Nice, quiet and central location
We were a little concerned initially about potential noise from the bar/restaurant Mojos, which is a poplar place, but to our surprise it was fairly quiet. The area is very nice, central to numerous beaches, grocery stores, restaurants and night life. We stayed in the one bedroom unit which is sufficiently appointed and well maintained. At least 10 parrots live in the trees surrounding the property. We felt safe the whole time. Owner very pleasant and accommodating. Definitley reccomend

Location, location
The location of the house was great. Not far from the beach. Close to the grocery store. We were there for 10 days and didn't need a car a all. Anton was wonderful. The house was clean. It is not fancy. Everything thing that we needed was there. I cannot wait to go back

Amazing time in Barbados!
My husband, our two young daughters, and I stayed at Rio Santos from February 15-22, 2014. We had the most wonderful vacation, and we can't wait to go back. The house is in the perfect location, within walking distance (even with a 2 and 5 year old) to some of the most beautiful beaches we have been to, a grocery store, and many restaurants. A short bus ride away is Oistens Market and many other Barbados attractions. The house itself is perfectly spotless. I was very impressed with the cleanliness, and this was very important to me. The kitchen is fully stocked with all of the necessary supplies to make food (and coffee), and the tap water is drinkable. It was great having a washer and dryer so we could wash our beach towels/ bathing suits when necessary. I felt completely safe in the area and found the neighbours to be very friendly, yet quiet. Anton was incredibly professional, friendly, and helpful, and I communicated with him a few times during our stay (via email- the house has WIFI and a telephone) with questions, which he always answered promptly and accurately. I would highly recommend Rio Santos and very much look forward to returning!

We have been to Barbados three times now and this Villa is certainly the best place we have stayed.!! It is very homely and well equipped. Its position is so central for moving round the island and so close for everything you need such as the beautiful beach across the road, nightlife in the Gap, public transport and supermarkets within two minutes walk. We would not hesitate to return here to either the villa or the studios. Anton was a great host and looked after any problems we had quickly.

Great stay
Is this a posh high end resort, no. Is this a clean, safe, comfortable villa close to the beach and centrally located, you bet it is!
Anton is an extremely nice man that will do his utmost to make your stay as enjoyable as possable. I wish all owners where as nice, attentive and accommodating as Anton.
The villa is located within walking distance to 3 grocery stores, several restaurants, shopping, beaches, car rentals, gas station and more. Rest assured that the next time we go to Barbados we'll be staying at villa Santos.

I would highly recommend this true Bajan home with an amazing porch to sit back and enjoy. If you are lucky you see the monkeys on the fence. There could not be a better landlord than Anton. he is one of a kind. Location is perfect close to beaches, supermarket, night life etc. Bus stop is right around the corner. House is always clean and a home away from home. Love this house and the friendly neighbours.

Centrally Located and Convenient
I stayed at the Rio Santos Residences Thanksgiving weekend on a girl's getaway with a good friend. While we rented a car for our stay in Barbados, these apartments are located within walking distance to a number of eating establishments, grocery stores, and only a short bus/cab ride from the Gap (or longer walk for the more adventurous. There is also a nice beach across the street, and a number of other great beaches within 10 min. The owner is very helpful, and was willing to accommodate a number of time and people changes on my part as my friends and I ironed out our plans. The few minor problems we had during our stay were quickly handled after a phone call. I would recommend this place for anyone wanting to be in the heart of the tourist area with the conveniences of home!

A Great Choice
Our family of five stayed at Rio Santos for a week in March, and it was ideal for us. The residence is very clean and comfortable, and there's plenty of room. The front verandah is a wonderful bonus for sitting outside and enjoying the surroundings. The location couldn't be more convenient: beaches, transportation, restaurants and a well-stocked grocery store only minutes' walk away. We felt very safe and at home. Mr. Anton is a personable and trustworthy host. Thank you!

Great Location!
This was a perfect location! Our neighbors were awesome and all very friendly. We were in walking distance to a lot of places and easy access to taxi and bus transportation. Took the ZR a lot! We rented a vehicle for part of our stay and there was good parking for it right outside our back door. The apartment was great and exactly what we needed. The apartment was clean and the property was very nice and well maintained. Anton was very awesome to deal with and answered any questions we had. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you for making our vacation so enjoyable!

Ideal Location!!!
Our family stayed here in August of 2010 and were so glad that we did. We had the option of staying at the Accra where the rest of our family was staying for a wedding, however thought we would give a rental a try. Anton was quick to respond to any questions we had via email in a professional and timely fashion. As everyone has pointed out, all amenities are within walking distance, and by far the beaches are amazing. Our kids loved the beaches, and having their own rooms. There are a number of local restaurants, and Anton was great at recommending some fantastic ones. If you're looking for some Canadiana feel be sure to try Bert's. Also, if you are able rent a car and tour the island. There is a car rental place right around the corner, and they were quick and easy to deal with.
Thank-you again for everything Anton!
