About this apartment rental
The Gallery apartment is a delightful spot for a couple, one, two or three travelers who wish to stay for 3 or more nights. Spacious, bright, and airy, the apartment is above our home and my studio/gallery. Cleaned and sanitized to high standards including a high intensity UV lamp to kill germs. The apartment is separate and includes its own entrance to ensure your privacy and convenience. It has just recently been renovated to ensure your comfort.
The apartment is accessed by an outside stairway. The living room is spacious and provides ample seating, as well as areas to work. Windows overlook our wooded backyard. You may also spy birds at the feeder below. Internet access and a TV with cable are provided. A small refrigerator, toaster, a toaster oven, tea kettle, keurig coffee pot and microwave are included for guest use. There is a tub/ shower combination in the private bathroom.
Wifi password will be provided upon check in. The entire apartment, seating areas in the yard and outside my studio are available to guests. My Studio Gallery is open in the afternoons and guests are welcome to visit and watch me paint. I am a watercolor artist and love to paint our beautiful coastal landscapes and villages. Examples of my prints can be seen in the apartment.
The apartment is located in a central location in the town of Damariscotta. Within 15 minutes is the beautiful coastal Pemaquid Peninsula with the famous Pemaquid Lighthouse, Pemaquid Beach and the fishing village of New Harbor. 30 minutes away from our town of Damariscotta will bring you to the Boothbay Harbor Region, including the delightful Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens. Brunswick, Rockland and Camden are only 40 minutes from us, so there many opportunities for day or afternoon adventures.
My husband, Mike, and I love sharing the joys of Midcoast Maine with our guests! We are happy to offer suggestions (when requested!) for local activities, restaurants, and day trips. If guests would like to chat with me personally, I can be found working in my Studio Gallery or in the gardens most afternoons. If assistance is needed at any time we can be reached by phone. However, for guests who value privacy and quiet, the Gallery Apartment is perfect- you can come and go as though you were in your own home. You need not encounter us unless you wish to!
Most days and nights the cool Maine air will keep the apartment comfortable without the use of the air conditioner, but the visitors should feel free to use the one provided if needed.
The television has Spectrum cable hook up. Directions for TV and air conditioner are located near them.

Well kept, clean and beautifully decorated apartment and grounds. Well stocked for the traveller with everything imaginable.
Very safe and convenient location. Host went above and beyond supplying items that could not have been brought on a plane. Highly recommend.

A great find just outside of Damariscotta. The accommodations were absolutely comfortable - a charming little space on the second floor of a New England Cape Cod home. Highly recommend a stay here to explore the beautiful Pemaquid peninsula. Great for up to three guests with a queen in the main bedroom and a twin tucked away in a corner of the main area.

A cozy place to stay in Damariscotta
The space is cozy and well-appointed, with a bed in the living area, in addition to the bed in the bedroom. There is a refrigerator, toaster oven, toaster and microwave. The bathroom has a tub and shower. It was a very comfortable place to stay and could accommodate three people. I especially liked the on demand lighting that was motion activated and lighted the path and stairs after dark. The only negative that may affect some is that the access to the apartment is up a steep set of stairs.

Perfect for us
This was beautiful! Kathleen and Mike are wonderful hosts. Just as she described, they are available if needed.
The accommodations are lovely. Many unexpected surprises. The layout was perfect for my sister and me. We each had work to do and we could both be on calls without bothering the other.
We were exploring new areas and revisiting old favorites. Friends and family in Southern Maine and Central Maine...made this a great compromise.

As always, a delight!
We have stayed here before and as with the other times we have stayed, the apartment is lovely. The apartment is very comfortable for a couple and it's easy to make coffee and toast in the morning for breakfast. It is nice to stay close to Damariscotta and have the ambiance of this small town available. We took a a walk on a trail that goes down to the water and ate at the Damariscotta Grill. A wonderful weekend away.

A Wonderful Stay!
As the last time we stayed, I can't speak highly enough of Kathleen's Gallery Apartment. It is cozy, warm (it is October), comfortable, well appointed and clean. I couldn't ask for a more for a visit to Damariscotta, than to stay in this lovely place. Thank you.

Delightful Loft near Damariscotta
This lovely little loft is in a perfect location close to the beautiful town of Damariscotta but in a more rural quiet setting. Loved the decor and views all round. A wonderful spot from which to explore this part of New England. You need a whole day to look around the town and visit first rate bookshops and studios.

Exceptional Apartment !
We had a lovely stay at the apartment. Our hosts were very helpful and thought of everything. The area resource book left for guests was very helpful and Kathleen also gave us more ideas for activities with our grandchildren ( they live in the area). The bed and furniture were very comfortable . It was easy to have breakfast and lunch there and we went out to dinner at night ( the local restaurants are great)! It is decorated in a very tasteful way and feels very private. Overall a great experience.

Perfect spot to end our very busy days in Damariscotta!
Kathleen’s rental is a charming place that met all our needs for our time in Damariscotta. It was warm and welcoming — set off a street that made it an ideal location without any street (car) noise. Apt was immaculate and the bed was very comfortable! Grounds/garden are very pretty, too. Kathleen is lovely and we enjoyed seeing her beautiful artwork. Looking forward to staying there again!

Cozy & peaceful — Fantastic location!
I adored my vacation in Damariscotta at The Gallery Apartment. Kathleen has prepared the space with everything a person could need. The mini kitchenette was just big enough to have everything I needed without all that extra space. There's a delightful breakfast nook and a wonderful tall table where I was able to get lots of work done, gazing out the window to a beautiful wooded backyard. It was quiet and peaceful—everything I wanted. I hope I'll get to stay again! Thanks Kathleen, for the perfect getaway!

Consider us charmed
Picture the most adorable cottage in the cutest little town on the water. Now amp that up a bit, and you’ve almost imagined the Gallery Apartment. Comfy, cozy furnishings are complemented by homey touches, all set in a beautiful little hamlet called Damariscotta. Check-in was easy and amenities were plentiful. It was easy to communicate with our host, and she even prepared a guide to Maine’s coast. An easy five-star review.

Cozy apartment, very conveniently located!
Really enjoyed our stay here! Very convenient location for our day trips to New Harbor, Boothbay Harbor, and Camden Hills State Park. Though we didn't spend much time at the apartment, it was very comfortable and clean. And, we certainly appreciated the Keurig coffee maker to help get each morning started!
