About this cabin rental
"Eagle’s Nest" is a 2 Bedroom/2 Full Bathroom, ♿️ Wheelchair Accessible, chemical fragrance free and Medical Medium friendly! 1,562 (inc. Decks) sq ft cabin for rent on 12 acres that overlooks Fontana Lake and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. This land is bordered on 3 sides by 600 acres of the Nantahala National Forest. Lake access and pontoon rentals are available just a few short minutes from the cabin.
Eagle’s Nest was designed and built by local artists and craftsmen with great attention to every detail. This is brand new construction with thoughtful furnishings that include one-of-a-kind artwork, decor and handmade furniture crafted by the owners. Be at peace knowing these homes are completely free of any toxic fragrances or chemical cleaners. There are no air fresheners, plug ins, scented candles, incense, commercial laundry soaps or fabric softeners. We wash all of the linens, shower curtains, bath mats etc. in house to insure they are cleaned without any toxic commercial soaps, stain removers, or bleach. We use non toxic cleaning supplies like Unscented Seventh Generation, BonAmi, BioKleen, peroxide, vinegar, and baking soda. This entire 12 acre property has NEVER been sprayed with pesticide. We are aware of how these toxic commercial fragrances have a burning effect on the nerves, can perpetuate a weakened immune system, deplete the nervous system, and cause several other chronic health symptoms. Rejoice in knowing that inside our homes and outside in the surrounding hundreds of acres of National Forest, clean air and oxygen are absorbed with every breath.

The pictures don’t lie! The views are even better in person. It was hard to leave! We spent soo much time just admiring the stunning views of the skyline, mountains and lake. Cabin was clean, comfy and ideal for the perfect getaway!

I didn't realize there wasn't a dining table, but it was nice outside so we at all our meals outside. Thanks again!

We recently spent six nights here and the property was as described. Spectacular view overlooking the river in the mountains. The beds were very, very comfortable. Host was very good with communication. I give this property a five star but in reality I would give it a 4.9. The reason being is that there is no dining area and the barstools are very high so eating at the counter top requires your hips at countertop level. Spoke to the owner and they will be replacing the stools, which is a good move, also I would suggest improving the lighting in the kitchen, quite dark. With that said, I highly recommend a visit to Eagles nest. Also make note that there are three cabins on the property.

Very clean and well stocked with everything we needed. Very beautiful views. Not to far to Bryson City or Great Smoky Mountain. Our family loved our stay and will be back.

The outside world ceased to exist. It is just you and nature! Very clean. I feel everyone needs to get back to what once was. Meaning clean air and the simple life of living. Looking forward to visiting again.

I would highly recommend staying here. It was very clean and cozy with amazing views. We saw an eagle right after arriving. There are 2 cabins close but you have bushes/trees blocking the other houses so it did not bother me or my wife any. Host was very detailed on directions to cabin.

It exceeded our expectations! We had a wonderful stay. The only downside was the big black ants, mostly in the bedroom that has the connecting bathroom.

We had the most wonderful time staying at this property. The views really do take your breath away and the night sky was gorgeous during our stay. We also saw eagles on a couple of occasions. The property is very clean and was perfect for 2 couples and a child. All the essentials required were provided for and we had everything that we needed. Would highly recommend!

We have stayed in a few different places in Tennessee and nowhere that we have found has the view that this place has! The facility was super clean and very nice. I don't think the pictures do the place justice honestly.

We had an amazing time at the cabin!! It was incredibly clean and everything was as listed. We even saw an eagle one of the days. What an amazing thanksgiving we had!! The hosts were super friendly and responsive. They provided us with lots of useful information. Would definitely book again!!! The only flaw would be that the sleeper sofa isn’t functional. Once we opened the sleeper sofa one end of it would collapse and wouldn’t stay up. In addition, when we tried laying down on it we could feel the support beams/springs.

We have stayed in Eagle's Nest a few times now. The view is absolutely amazing! Shannon and Michelle have created a wonderful place to relax and enjoy creation. Communication and attention to detail was again just right. We will be coming back, already booked again for next year.

My husband and I brought our grandsons up to ride the train to the Nantahala! We have rented another on site condo last year! It was such a wonderful experience that we thought we would book again to celebrate some birthdays. The cabin is phenomenal! The views are out of this world! And it is so quiet at night when you sit out to look at the stars! Always easy to check in! The cabin is well-decorated! I would highly recommend it if you are looking for a relaxing getaway! So close to town as well!

Of all the cabins we have stayed in, this one is absolutely the best.
The owners have gone out of their way to anticipate the needs of guests and to make us feel comfortable. The cabin is thoughtfully laid out, perfectly equipped and immaculately clean. And that is on top of fabulous views. We didn’t just like our stay…we loved it.

We’ve stayed year after year and every time we are impressed and beyond pleased with our stay. The cleanliness of the property and friendliness of the owners is beyond anything we’ve ever experienced. Our absolute favorite place to stay.

This was our second stay… this time during the fall colors. The house was perfect and the view is the best in the Appalachians! No need to leave the house!

Two issues….
1) Cabins are closer than we had hoped
2) My profile clearly states that my husband has a service dog so there would be no questions in that regard whenever we book via VRBO. The day after we got there the owner sent me a message and said “we notice you have a dog. We don’t allow pets as many of our guests have allergies. Did you not see our strict policy about pets?” When I replied that the dog is a service dog and that my profile says we have one she said she can’t see that in my profile. I offered to send a screenshot of my profile. She kept saying that we should have been more open about it. What the heck? My profile states it….told her she should check with VRBO to see why she can’t view it. I also told her at one point that the communication from her was making us feel unwelcome. Then she said if they had known about it ahead of time “they could have accommodated us”. When I asked “how exactly could you have accommodated us”, she replied that they would have pointed out the service dog station…..which was about 50 feet from the front porch of the cabin….I mean we aren’t blind. My guess is that the dog station is a prop for looking like they follow ADA laws?? She also asked us not to leave our dog in the cabin alone if we leave. Good grief…..I had to point out to her that service dogs aren’t suppose to be left behind….that they always go with their person. She obviously is very ignorant of ADA laws and service dog protocols. Ruined our stay.

This property offers comfort and gorgeous views of Fontana Lake and the Smokies! Truth in advertising- cabin offers a home away from home and quiet, beautiful relaxation. A bonus for me is the low step shower with grab bars and slip resistant stone shower floor. Anyone with mobility issues will appreciate the thoughtful details.

Everything was spotless and thank you for helping us with items we would immediately need like coffee and paper products. The only problem we had was trying to open the handle on the French doors to the deck. We decided to leave the door handle unlocked because of our difficultly just opening the door. When we needed to leave we would lock the French doors and go out the front door. I ould add a Senior Adult age range.

This was our second vacation here and we love everything about it! Clean, beautiful, well equipped. just terrific. The weather was excellent. Can't say how much we appreciate the handicapped accessibility, as this is a must for us. Thanks for a great retreat!

I never have the perfect words to explain this amazing property. It is truly our home away from home. My family and I consider this property our home when visiting the smokies. The owners always make us feel welcome as if we were family. The cabin is always spotless and has all the amenities you would need for an absolutely memorable vacation. This is one of many visits to this cabin and most definitely not the last. And as everyone always talks about - the view is stunning, jaw dropping, almost indescribable. Truly takes your breath away.

My husband and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary at the Eagles Nest. We wanted a quiet and beautiful place to relax and enjoy nature. Eagles Nest did not disappoint! The cabin was impeccable. Very clean, nice furnishings, stocked with everything we needed for cooking and dining. The view from the back deck was so beautiful and serene. We spent every morning and evening on the deck just watching the fish feed and looking out for the eagle we had read about. There was no eagle sighting unfortunately, but we were a bit early for the eagles appearance. Loved every minute of our stay! We will definitely stay here again!

The view was just incredible, and the cabin met our needs perfectly, especially its wheelchair accessibility. We'll definitely stay here again if we come back to the area!
