About this cabin rental
The Powder Pad is a charming 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom cabin nestled against the wetlands of the Goose Pasture Tarn, 3 miles south of Breckenridge. This one of a kind cabin is extremely secluded and backs to hundreds of acres of wetlands and national forest. What makes this cabin so special is the ponds and streams right out of the back door. You will experience the benefits of being in an extremely private setting - yet still being in such close proximity to Breckenridge.
In addition to the 2 bedrooms, the cabin has a loft with a Queen size murphy bed. The cabin sleeps up to 6 people - via 3 Queen size beds.
After a fun day of skiing, the hot tub will be just the ticket to warm you up. You will find this to be an ultra private hot tub experience in the most serene and private setting underneath the stars.
The Powder Pad's kitchen is stocked with all of the amenenties you may need: crockpot, pots and pans, coffee maker, blender, etc.
The living room features a flatscreen Samsung smart TV and a wood burning stove. We stock the cabin with firewood for our guests. There is nothing better than curling up in front of the fire after a day of mountain fun.
There is so much to do in all of the seasons:
In the winter months, in addition to skiing and snowboarding, you can cross country ski or snow shoe right out the back door. There are many hiking trails near the Powder Pad.
In the summer months, you and your guests will enjoy 3 decks off of the cabin that add to the living space. You can enjoy your morning coffee on the upper back deck, listening to Spruce Creek that runs right through the back yard. The beautiful ponds off of the back of the cabin boast beavers and fish. Grab a fishing pole and take a walk through 'Moose on the Loose' trail right out of the back of the cabin. Convening around the fire pit in the evening with s'mores is the perfect way to end a summer mountain day.
In the Fall, the whole scene around the cabin explodes with shades of gold. The intimate view of the famous Boreas Pass is yours to take in from either of the back decks.
There has been many wildlife spotted from the Powder Pad including our local Moose, Beaver, Deer, Great Blue Heron, Hummingbirds, Osprey, and Geese. All observed from the back deck of the Powder Pad. What will you see when you stay???
If there is anything we can do to make your stay more comfortable, please let us know.

What a wonderful cabin! The owners have everything you could possibly need for your stay. The place was clean, quiet and welcoming. The pond and stream in the backyard was our favorite. Morning coffee in the cool mountain air watching the sun peek over the mountain. We didn’t see moose like we hoped for but were surprised to see a deer making his way by. Breckenridge was just a very short drive. Hands down will be back if we are lucky enough to make it back to Breckenridge.

We had a fabulous week in this charming cabin. Mornings on the upper balcony watching the sunrise with a cup of coffee to the back deck and hot tub after a long day of hiking. A hidden gem with privacy that puts you in the midst of nature away the hustle of Breck but a short 3 mile drive to enjoy the restaurants and shops when wanted.
Shawn and Kate were great to communicate with. We will be back!

My husband and I and our two best friends stayed for our 10 year wedding anniversary! The cabin was beautiful and so clean! The views of the mountains, moose, and lake were so dreamy! The cabin had everything we could possibly need. Being two miles from
Breckenridge was absolutely perfect! We had the best time and hope to return in the future!

We loved our stay. It is so serene sitting in the backyard. Very private and relaxing. Easy 5 minute ride to Breckenridge. The house was well stocked. Master bedroom on first floor, and 2nd bedroom upstairs. (Murphy bed is in loft upstairs). Worked perfectly for us. Comfortable beds and furniture. Very clean and the owners were wonderful to communicate with. Thank you and hope to be back soon!

We stayed a week in July and this is the perfect place. Very comfortable, beautiful surroundings, and just far enough away from town to enjoy the peace and quiet, but still close enough to all the attractions. Great owners, and we will definitely stay again.

We had a wonderful stay and will definitely return. The welcome basket was a very nice touch. Beautiful pond with a great stream right out the back door. Close to the Breck. Thank you for the memories😊🏔️

We were looking to escape the heat in KS and found the perfect place. Sitting in the back, listening to the creek and sounds of wildlife, was just what we needed. We hiked, nines and paddleboarded. Barely scratched the surface as far as how many trails we wanted to take. We will definitely be back. The house was cool, clean and comfortable. We had everything g we needed. We only went into town twice.

We booked this home so we could run away to Colorado and get eloped. It was the perfect setup for my husband(ahh!!) and I. It was super peaceful and quiet, and felt private even if there were other homes nearby. It is super easy to find and just a few minutes away from downtown Breckenridge! We especially loved the decor and home-like feeling we had while staying at the Powder Pad. The welcome basket was a nice touch.
I'll never forget our time here and we fully intend on visiting again. Highly recommended!

This place was located in an area that was peaceful with the stream running behind the home. We loved early morning views and the evening views while sitting around the fire or in the hot tub. You were able to see just how wonderful Gods land is from stream to the mountains and the stars.

Location (outside of the congestion of Breckenridge) and accommodations were excellent. Cabin had everything we needed. Nice mountain stream and pond off the back deck. We even saw a sand hill crane near the pond! We enjoyed our stay!

Great place loved the decor and how well equipped the house was, we felt like we were at our own home every pan everything needed for breakfast and dinner nights.

Everything as advertised! Even had heated walkway between house and hot tub that kept snow clear. Nice area inside garage to store ski gear and change without dragging it all in the house.

My best friend and I stayed at this wonderful cabin. The cabin was beautiful and exactly as advertised, the scenery from the back porch was amazing. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to relax at!

The home is exactly as shown on the website. We were in love with the home and location immediately. It's very private and quiet but close enough to town if you're looking for a little more. The house was fully stocked with everything that we needed to feel at home. We left today and already talking about our next trip to Breckenridge and staying at the Powder Pad.

We were thrilled with our stay at this property! Very well appointed and everything worked as it should. Loved the hot tub after a couple days of pushing ourselves hiking. Only disappointment was not seeing a moose😜

We love this cabin!! Very clean and stocked with all the amenities needed to make this stay even more enjoyable. Kitchen was stocked well with cooking tools, salt/pepper, spices and sharp knives for cooking (we’ve stayed in cabins that literally had nothing). The location was perfect for hiking and visiting Breckenridge. Our favorite part was the view from the back deck/hot tub and we even saw a moose behind the cabin!! This was a vacation to remember for years!! Thanks for sharing this gem with us

We absolutely loved our stay! This is a truly magical property. Once you step into the beautiful back of the property you feel alone in the world. The babbling brook, the beaver pond with actual beavers and other wildlife...We couldn't have asked for a more wonderful retreat. The cabin was very clean and exactly as shown in the pictures. Fabulous custom touches. Definitely one of the best properties that we have stayed in! We hope to be back soon.

Two guys came to Breckenridge late August for hiking. Location is very secluded 2.5 miles south of town. Rear of cabin faces endless vista of upper marshy tributaries to nearby lake and Boras Pass mountains.
The cabin had everything but a toaster-we looked and may have missed it. The two bathrooms are on main floor requiring upper private loft bedroom and Murphy bed in 'sitting area' to travel up in down for late night visits. The Murphy bed in located in 'sitting area' outside private bedroom- thus no privacy for Murphy bed if 6 adults at cabin. We didn't try the Murphy bed, but the two bedroom beds were fabulous. The hot tub was premier and would hold 5 adults comfortably. All appliances worked perfectly, especially the furnace, which we used every night in late August! The location of this very secluded cabin on the outskirts of Breckenridge makes this place a 5 star+ destination. The moose cow and calf that hung out in back yard for 45minutes on our last day was icing on the cake!

This cabin is perfection when it comes to a mountain getaway! It was our second time staying at the Powder Pad. The hosts are responsive and thoughtful - we wanted for nothing! Between exploring downtown Breckinridge, hiking, and taking in all that the cabin property has to offer (hot tub, cozy reading spots, and viewing wildlife from the balcony) my family thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We cannot wait for our next visit!

My BFF from Seattle and I (from MN) met in Breckenridge for a long weekend of hiking and catching up. This cabin couldn't have been more perfect! It ended up snowing all weekend, but since the cabin is less than 3 miles from Breckenridge, it was no big deal. I will absolutely stay here again!!

We had a wonderful time staying at the Powder Pad! Our normal travel accommodations include our own camper, but we decided to rent a house for a change. We are a little particular when it comes to cleanliness since we normally stay in our own “home” but the Powder Pad did not disappoint! Very clean, everything needed for our stay, comfortable beds and luckily enough we were able to see a moose right in the backyard! Also, the Welcome basket was a great touch and very much appreciated. I would highly recommend staying here, and hope to be back in the future!!

My mother had grown up in a cabin in this area back in the 1940’s she had not been back home in over 60 years. This cabin brought back so many memories from her childhood in the area. It was absolutely perfect and we will be coming back many more times in the future.. Highly recommend!!!
