About this house rental

This mid-island home features an open and airy gathering area with the living/dining/kitchen opening into a sunroom, all with soaring cathedral ceilings. The screened porch and sundeck are accessible from french doors from both the living and dining rooms. The master bedroom has a private bath and the other bedrooms have an adjoining bath between them. The kitchen is well equipped for all your cooking needs and both a gas and charcoal grill are available. The beach is a five minute walk from the house and there is an outside shower ideal for rinsing off the sand each time you return. Linens are not provided, but can be rented from Julie's Rentals on the island and can be delivered prior to arrival. While guests must provide their own paper products and cleaning supplies, a broom, mop and vacuum cleaner are provided. Also the beds are furnished with mattress pads, pillows and comforters. The rental fee includes a housekeeping service provided at the end of your stay, except for rentals of less than 5 nights.

Sunset Beach is the southernmost barrier island in NC with wide sand beaches protected by rows of dramatic dunes. It was ranked #4 by National Geographic as one of the 21 best beaches in the world in 2017, and made TripAdvisors list of budget beach vacations. It is a most relaxing, family oriented beach, with only a few low rise retail outlets, but close to the many amenities of Myrtle Beach. Just off the island there are also many restaurants, shops and other recreational outlets, as well as several world class golf courses. Just a short walk down the beach, Bird Island, a national wildlife preserve, consists of a two mile strand of uninhabited beach(except for the many species of birds, deer, goats and turtles) to make your walk or bike ride even more enjoyable.

You can't beat the price for the amenities and location! We all really enjoyed our two week stay and the rental met all of our needs. We're already looking forward to next year at Sunset Beach!

Great location and floor plan. Access to the beach is just down the street. Great place for family fun and relaxation. House is dated, but everything works great, ac held up great with 90 degree days. Host was super responsive.

Nice size and layout, its close to everything. The owner has kept it up and is very responsive. The kitchen is beyond fully stocked with everything you need. Sunrise watching on the screened porch was so relaxing. Thank you, Chuck!

It was a great little place to stay, and was a short walk to the beach. If we weren’t at the beach, we were enjoying the screened in porch. We normally have more in our party, but not all were able to come this year, so It was great for 3 adults and a toddler. We really enjoyed our stay!

The house was perfect for what we needed. It was a short walk to the beach. The neighborhood was quiet. It is also close enough to drive to North Myrtle to spend the day also. Highly recommend & will definitely try to stay there again. Chuck was very helpful & responded to messages very fast.

This was our 2nd year staying at this property & we enjoyed it. The best part is the screened in balcony - we spent many hours out there day & night. It is so quiet, trying after Labor Day is the best time to go! Definitely recommend!

We loved staying here for our first visit to Sunset Beach. The kids loved the hammock and looking for lizards outside! The light with the large windows in the main room is beautiful. We also loved hanging out on the porch. The walk was little long for the kids (4,6,8 years old) but no problem for my husband and myself. My watch said .3 miles to our beach spot and a lot of that is walking on the boardwalk itself. The beach itself is really pretty and we loved how there weren’t any houses right on the beach. We would definitely stay here again!

We really enjoyed our stay here! The extras in the beach/laundry room under the house really made our stay more enjoyable. There is a cart to push everything down the road since there is a little bit of a walk, but the walk was doable for us. We absolutely loved Sunset Beach and the people there!! I think the only thing I would change about this house is the couch in the living room. There were a little fibers coming off of it that got stuck in our hands and it was a little bit uncomfortable. Everything else was great!! Thank you for letting us stay here and making our stay awesome!!

We had a wonderful time at sunset beach! The beach itself is great for families as it has a wide soft sandy shoreline and a gentle entrance to the water. We really enjoyed Chuck’s place. It’s as shown in photos, maybe even better! The main living space is nice and open with a lovely dining area as well as an outdoor patio. The walk to the beach is very manageable even with small children and the area is quiet and peaceful. Would definitely recommend! We saw Chuck a couple times during the stay and he is a friendly and easy to work with host.

This beachhouse was amazing, my family & I enjoyed ourselves! This place gives you a peace of mind! I mean it’s really quiet which is good especially if you’re from city area. Grocery stores are close which were also good because me and my family don’t like to dine out and it was good to make breakfast at the house afterwords go to the beach. There’s washer and dryer to wash your clothes & available chairs and beach accessories & bikes. If your reading this ,please just go ahead & book this house you won’t be disappointed!

Great beach house for our family of 6. Everything as advertised. Heads up as the wifi is Satellite internet. So it doesn’t work well when it is raining and cannot handle modern teenage expectations of large downloads and online video games.

I am a very satisfied, returning guest, and I look forward to my next visit to "Sheer Delight." Yes, I'm already looking at the future availability!!! Since this visit was in June, the water and air temperature were warmer, so I enjoyed lots more hours on the beach and in the water. Plus, I enjoyed the beach yoga class, the Bird Island Nature Walk, the concert in the park, the produce market/craft markets on island and in the community park, and delicious entrees at local restaurants. Anyone who has been to Sunset Beach would agree that it's a very unique and beautiful place, and staying in "Sheer Delight" was the perfect place to call home for the week.

"Sheer Delight" was a delight. The weather was amazing, so we spent hours enjoying the beach, walking, reading, playing in the water, and joining the Turtle Watch ladies, too. When inside, we prepared meals in a very adequate kitchen...put together jigsaw puzzles on the large dining table...and ate every meal on the screened porch. Being able to park beneath the house out of the sun was really nice. There are three little libraries on the island which provided plenty of reading material. After a busy day, there was lots of quick, hot water to wash away the salt water. The grocery store is 6 minutes away, and so are delicious restaurants just as close. We went to North Myrtle just for a little adventure, but we were so glad to return to Sunset Beach, so quiet and welcoming. Lucky me, I'm returning in a few weeks.

We normally come quarterly to sunset beach either for a week or a long weekend. You know what you get when you go to sunset. Beautiful beaches and missing the old bridge! Chuck is a super host! Super friendly and awesome to work with. His place is super clean, has wifi which some places at sunset don’t, dish tv. Thank you for letting us use your additional chairs. Thank you!

We just stayed for a week and Chuck and his house was amazing. He was great about communicating and was extremely thoughtful about our time. The house was clean and the distance from the beach was great. Can’t wait to come back!
