I loved the charm of the house! We didn’t get any hot water out of the shower or faucets but idk if that was just a fluke or not, and we only stayed one night so it wasn’t a big deal. Check in and check out process was easy.

Great house, super clean and less expensive than a hotel. Highly recommended

This beautiful house was perfect for our girls weekend. Close to downtown. Would book again!

The pics that are posted paint a much brighter picture than we walked into! Plus pics cannot share the smell that hit you in the face. We rented for 3 nights and only stayed the first night as 3 of the 4 of us woke up sick. One of us has a terminal lung issue and had we spent another minute there would have probably gone to ER. One woke up with a severe headache and I am asthmatic and could not have stayed any longer! We informed them, they did not offer to relocate us and told us that while they could not give us any credit that they noticed we bought the insurance and gave us the number to contact. (I guess because the reason for leaving was medical.) The house is in dire need of deep cleaning, and lots of repair work and painting. The outside looks adorable… but look a little closer and you can just tell it’s been very neglected! Prior to going we checked some reviews and they were mostly positive and the pics look so cozy and sweet. When someone had mentioned a smell the rental people replied that they would address that… guess what… they must not have gotten around to it! We’ve rented several darling places in our favorite Texas town and thought this would be another wonderful memory in Bluebonnet country… it wasn’t! The house is for sale so hopefully someone will buy it and give it the attention it needs!

Close to the Main Street, cute house with some expected quirks. The water heater stopped working during our visit and management immediately arranged to have it repaired.
4.8
Super cute house, great location, very comfortable but…WiFi was terrible. We also had a broken shower in one of the two bathrooms. No washer/dryer/ironing board/iron. No trash bags and outdoor trash can was overflowing. Living room furniture is definitely’lived in’.
4.8
Very walkable to Main St. Beds were exceptionally comfortable. The many antiques were stunning. Wish we had better instructions on how to leave the house when we checked out. Didn’t know whether to strip beds, where to put dirty
laundry, whether to put dirty dishes in dishwasher or just wash them???

It was lovely

The house was very cute but the showers did not work well.

We had a great stay here. The house is very charming. Beds were comfortable! Tv needs to be updated to a much larger, smart tv.
4.8
So fun and perfect. Wish I'd taken a pic with the antique phone!

The kitchen was great to cook my dishes that I took to Thanksgiving dinner. Love the big farm sink! Beds were comfortable. Couldn’t enjoy the soaking tub; drain plug wouldn’t work. Only one channel on the TV; customer service was absolutely no help. Not worth the price paid.

Beautiful home just steps away from Main Street. Not one complaint!
4.8
Beautiful, cozy home with gorgeous antiques!

The house is located in a clean safe residential neighborhood. Walking distance from Main Street and had everything we wanted for our stay. Plenty of parking and seating was a key factor in our choosing the house. Thank you for sharing and we will definitely be back.
4.8
Location was spot on and loved that both bedrooms had king beds. It was hard to get past the musty smell & bathroom door that wouldn’t close.
4.8
This house is roomy and the antique decor is beautiful. The house was perfect for two couples. We wine tasted within a 10 minute drive and walked to the National Museum of the Pacific War. It was nice to come back and relax and make our own food.
4.8
Had a great time. House is located within a short drive to local restaurants, shopping and entertainment. Porch is perfect for enjoying your morning coffee and visiting with friends.
4.8
We enjoyed the house and neighborhood. Walking was great to shops, etc.
4.8
The cards provided did not unlock the doors.
4.8
Very quaint and historic. Bedrooms and bathrooms were great. The coffee machine didn’t work but that was ok.
4.8
The house smelled of mold. We had to get air refreshers. Also the back room was hot. I would recommend shades along with changing the vent by the round table below the window. Not much air coming out of it. The Wifii didn’t work. On a positive note the beds were comfortable.

Walking distance to Main St! I loved staying in this house.
The property is in great conditions considering that it has not been renovated, which is the best part of staying here (some renovations in the bathrooms/kitchen). It was very clean, bed and bedding were perfect, and it had crispy clean white towels. I loved the smell of the old wood floors. The main bedroom gets a lot of day light, which I love, but it might not be for everyone.
4.8
We loved the location and authenticity of the historic construction. Access was easy and plenty of parking was nice. Wasn't aware we were sharing the property with another nightly rental space behind the house, but it did not affect our stay. Some items needed maintenance/repair and we were only at the property for 14 hours overnight, so not enough time to get those corrected. If you are expecting to have a lot of privacy between the bedrooms, this is not a space for you. The bedrooms are right next to each other and share the closest bathroom. The 2nd bath is across the house against 2 exterior walls, so that bath was quite a bit colder than the rest of the house and uncomfortable to use.
4.8
Neat house with a great location.
4.8
House was nice and convenient. AC was not working the first day , but they did get it fixed the second .
4.8
What a treat to say at the Travis house. As a kiddo of the 70s the big windows with nature coming right in brought me back to my childhood home. The flooring and planks on the walls allowed me to visualize what life must have been like before my time…natural, real and simple beauty.
4.8
House slightly dated, but was expected. Walking distance to town. 2 master need full drapes (light in the morning).
4.8
Pros: well located, nice neighborhood, well stocked, cute decor
Cons: extremely strong smell when we arrived that did not fully dissipate despite opening doors & running fans for 5 hours. (Smelled like very strong Pine Sol scent. Mutually agreed with Vacasa that another spray was unlikely to resolve issue.) Odd layout with 2nd bath far from bedrooms. Road noise at night. Streetlight shining into bedrooms.
4.8
We loved everything about it. Easy checking in and out. Great access to town. Huge bedrooms and lots of living space. Amazing bedding and comfortable beds. Showers a little small and didn’t prefer. Overall would book this place again.
4.8
Nice German antiques, beds were comfortable. Had problem with checkin as key fob did not work. Took Bobbie about 15 min to arrive with master key fob & provide new key cards. Overall I would stay at the Travis House again.
4.8
Easy for us to get the property we wanted close to town. Very clean an accommodating.
4.8
We went to get checked and there was no key to get into the house! It took the management (Vecasa) company 1 hour to contact the local manager to get to the house!! Not cool!!
4.8
Great location. Easy check-in. Great space. Would stay here again.
4.8
First time staying in downtown Fredericksburg. Very convenient to everything and the house was awesome. The TV sound is very glitchy and the WiFi didn’t work, but everything else was outstanding
4.8
Very clean and comfortable. Good neighborhood, nice and quiet. Above expectations. Slight mix-up with check in codes, but handled well by management. Would definitely stay again.
4.8
The property itself is fine, although a strong musty odor rises from the open stairwell to the basement and the air conditioning. Tough stay for people having allergies. I could say great things about the house but other reviewers do it for me. However, be aware that Vacasa will market to you in all forms possible to manage any property which you own. Vacasa is the property manager for this house. They are using our information to investigate us and find out where we own property. We have received mailings to an address we did not provide and emails to an email address that we did not provide to reserve this property. We will not book any stay at a property managed by Vacasa in the future. All we wanted was a two night stay with friends to enjoy the town.
4.8
Very comfortable, clean, and convenient. Would love to stay there again!
4.8
Loved the character of the home and all essentials provided a comfortable stay:)
4.8
Great house and location. Lots of room and the AC worked great. Plenty of kitchen items if you want to cook. Beds were super comfy!!
