Kathleen's Grey Goose Inn lived up to all the other glowing reviews. She truly has thought of every need and comfort. Her place is lovely, and it served as a perfect spot to rest between all the events of our busy week. Five starts isn't enough! (Also, the geese arrived each morning, as though they knew their role. ) We'll be back, no doubt.

My wife and I stayed here during our anniversary trip. Kathleen left us a personalized note, anniversary cupcakes, and she made sure we had everything we needed. She was also very communicative the whole time we were there. We will definitely consider staying here again the next time we're in the area.

Kathleen’s property was the perfect place to stay for our fall getaway! There was a personalized note waiting when we arrived and the fridge was stocked with water, soda, beer, and wine. She also provided small snacks and homemade cookies!
Her property exceeded our expectations - it was very spacious, super clean, and had everything you could possibly need. We took advantage of the fireplace as well.
The check in process was very simple and Kathleen stopped by the next day to make sure we had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again and enjoyed our stay.

This was our 2nd year staying at Kathleen's property, The Grey Goose Inn. Kathleen. Is the most kind and thoughtful host. It was our anniversary trip and she had anniversary cupcakes waiting for us. The fridge was stocked with a few drinks and yummy snacks as well. We realized we forgot our soap and toothbrushes and she had plenty of toiletries ready for our use as well. I can't say enough about how CLEAN her home is. There is also a beautiful new fireplace which made the nights feel extra homey and cozy. While staying in Waynesboro we visited White Oak Canyon Trail, the Shenandoah Caverns, Nelson 151, and Staunton. Her place is near everything you could explore! Thank you Kathleen and can't wait to see you next year!❤️

We're repeat visitors to the Waynesboro area and have previously stayed at hotels or B&B's. When we found this listing we decided to give it a try and we are so happy that we did. The property greatly exceeded our expectations and Kathleen could not have been a better hostess. Location is excellent, beautiful sunrises and watching the geese each morning arriving at the pond was a real treat. Will definitely be staying here again if available for future trips.

The new fireplace was very welcome and kept us Cozy on our chilly. Wet & wild weekend. The shower had great pressure. The little extras in the kitchen was very nice. And Kathleen was a very gracious hostess.

Beautiful, peaceful, lovely spot.
This spot is lovely and was perfect for my getaway. I mostly wanted a place to land and rest and be alone. Its a quiet, clean, comfortable spot. The best part is the back yard/view out of the door. I sat for hours outside enjoying the sun and space and quiet and the view of the mountains. Wide open skyline. There were thoughtful touches. A hand written note welcoming me and supplies and drinks available. Id love to stay again.

Absolutely perfect spot for a long weekend getaway!
Kathleen made our anniversary getaway so special.
She greeted us with anniversary wishes and cupcakes, the apartment was clean, large, and stocked with treats and drinks. Kathleen was so generous, and provided great conversation and tips for restaurants and activities in the area.
We appreciated her warm hospitality and care!
Don’t think twice about staying at The Grey Goose Inn! We are already planning to return another time!

We had a great stay at Kathleen's home. The fully finished, private access, walkout basement was perfect. It was in a quiet subdivision with beautiful mountain views and was close to many restaurants and Shenandoah National Park. Less than 30 minutes from Charlottesville and 15-20 minutes from Staunton, it was the perfect location for all of the local attractions we visited. If we're ever back in the area we will be visiting again!

Perfect in Every Way
Exactly what my husband and I needed for our few days away in the mountains. Kathleen's place is fresh, spacious, and has all the little touches that make for a very comfortable stay away from home. The view out the back is gorgeous. We spent our time hiking and visiting cities nearby, and when we would come back to the property we were really able to relax and recharge! Highly recommend!

We celebrated our 36th anniversary back in Sept., however, we didn't do anything special to celebrate. As I was browsing VRBO, I found this property, and it far exceeded my expectations. It was perfectly located for how we planned to spend our time away. We walked along the Appalachian trail, visited Crabtree Falls, shopped at The Cheese Shop, walked around Sherando Lake, and visited downtown Staunton. But mostly we admired the beautiful mountains, and surrounding water falls, and creeks. The property itself was extremely clean, and had everything we needed and then some. It was spacious and cozy and it was so nice to have 1100sq ft all to ourselves. I highly recommend staying at The Grey Goose Inn. Our hostess, Kathleen, was available, but respected our space, and made us feel very welcome. We hope to visit again!

I have stayed in dozens of vacation homes/suites over the years and this is hands down the *very best* I have ever stayed at. Kathleen is an incredible host with a very high attention to detail. The suite: The suite is located on the walkout level of a 2-story duplex. The entrance is around the back and reached with a stone path. The suite is enormous - there is an open kitchenette/dining/living area, a laundry room, a massive bathroom (with an excellent shower: good water pressure and temperature!), a room with a daybed, and then a master 'bedroom' that has curtains separating it from the living area. The kitchenette has everything you might need for small meals/breakfast: hot plate, frying pans, toaster oven, coffee maker, microwave, minifridge. Kathleen had stocked the fridge with beers, wine, and sodas, as if it was our own little mini bar! What a treat! She also left a carton of cream, which we enjoyed in our coffee as a little luxury each morning. A basket of snacks awaited on the counter, as well. The rooms are all well-appointed with thoughtful and tasteful touches: The towels are very fluffy, there is a well-positioned night light, the bedding is super comfortable, etc. Also, there is an outdoor table and chairs where I enjoyed coffee with a mountain view each morning. The surrounding area: Kathleen's home is located in a quiet, modern, upscale subdivision that has wide open fields, fountains, walking trails, and views of the Shenandoahs. I enjoyed nightly walks in the neighborhood, which was very quiet and safe. The view of the stars was incredible. Waynesboro is located at an amazing junction with the Blue Ridge Parkway to the south (15 min drive), Skyline Drive and Shenandoah National Park to the north (15 min drive), Charlottesville to the east (30-40 min drive) and Staunton to the west (15 min drive). This meant that beautiful drives with overlooks, hiking trails, and cultural destinations are all within easy reach. Kathleen recommended Scotto's in Waynesboro for dinner and their pizza was excellent! COVID-19 precautions: The suite was sparkling clean. We briefly encountered Kathleen when we first arrived (outside, masked, distant) but otherwise she let us be. She had also thoughtfully left disposable masks and hand sanitizer for our use.Overall impression: I felt like I was staying at a 5-star hotel, but even better because of the privacy and views. Kudos, Kathleen! I hope to come back some day!

Will be back! AMAZING FIND
Kathleen was by far an amazing Host. Her home was immaculate, cozy, and centrally located to everything we were looking for on our long weekend (Crabtree Falls, Grand Caverns, and Skyline Drive to name a few). She had lots of goodies waiting for us when we arrived and toiletries we completley forgot to bring. Her response time to all questions was very fast and she was so very sweet and helpful. We can't wait to come back again and we highly recommend The Grey Goose Inn for your next stay. Thank you Kathleen for everything for our Anniversary getaway.

Fantastic stay! Beautiful location with a great view. House is at the end of a quiet, safe street that is in a great location. The suite was clean. Owner was extremely gracious and thoughtful; she left a birthday cake (we were there for my wife's 30th birthday) and plenty of snacks and goodies. I could not recommend this location enough to anyone wanting to visit the area!

Perfect getaway from DC
This wonderful suite was awesome for our mountain weekend getaway from the city! Kathleen was a great host, really went above and beyond to make our weekend special and safe. The quick 2.5 hour drive from the metro area was a beautiful and an easy trip, with Harrisonburg being a perfect spot to stop for lunch. Kathleen had sent us our custom code to access the suite before our arrival. Plenty of safe parking right in front of the house. The suite was huge, beautifully appointed and super clean! With this being our first getaway since the pandemic started, we were trying to be very careful with our selection of stay- covid-wise we felt very safe here! We loved the kitchenette. The mini fridge was stocked with a few extra special treats :) , coffee-maker, and a toaster oven that made our stay much easier. Living room has the TV, which has Netflix, amazon, etc access, and a cozy gas fireplace. The bed was super comfortable and there are curtains separating the living room and bedroom, so helpful for sleeping in on vacation!
Great location, just a short drive from Shenandoah National Park and Skyline drive, so perfect for hiking trips! It was about 15-20 minutes from several breweries and wineries. Valley Hill Winery, Blue Mountain Brewery, and Basic City Beer Co. were all fun and socially-distanced.

Spacious, quiet, relaxing, immaculate
This property is in a beautiful, quiet residential plan. The suite is private, has a nice view of a pond and surrounding area and is VERY spacious and comfy. It was the perfect place to stay for my husband's and my extended weekend for our daughter's wedding. It was the MOST immaculate place we have ever stayed and we have traveled across America and Europe for decades. Kathleen clearly takes great pride in her accomodations and cares about her guests. There were so many thoughtful and helpful items when we arrived...ground coffee and filters for the coffee maker, cream, wine and sodas in the frig, some snacks and candy, eye makeup remover, toothbrushes and toothpaste and more. Wonderful touches we really appreciated. I also loved the dressing table and makeup mirror when getting ready for the wedding festivities. Bed, living rm couch and chairs...all very comfy. Very large bathroom easily accomodates two ppl and their grooming "stuff." Large dining table. Easy to access free wifi. All in all, we had a wonderful stay. Its a great location for visiting local wineries, Waynesboro and Charlottesville. Highly recommended.
