About this house rental
This is a cozy and bright getaway in the Berkshires. 3 bedrooms and 1 loft, comfortably sleeps 6 people, can sleep up to 10. Living room and dining room have lofted ceilings and big windows overlooking the Deerfield River. Full kitchen, laundry, and 2.5 bathrooms. Radiant heating keeps the house wonderfully warm in the winter, and the breezeway is the perfect place to relax in the summer.
Two bedrooms are equipped with AC.
It's a quiet, family house and we are looking for quiet, respectful guests. No parties please.
Situated in between Shelburne Falls and Charlemont, on the historic Mohawk Trail, this house is ideally located near quaint New England towns, activities for all seasons (Berkshire East Ski Resort, Zoar Outdoor Whitewater Rafting, and miles of beautiful trails in the woods all within 15 minutes of the house). Plenty of delicious dining options nearby.
The house was built in 2003, and the lumber was milled at the Hall Tavern Farm--which is just down the road from the house! The construction is entirely mortice and tenon (no nails!) and has spectacular woodworking features.
Washer, dryer, and dishwasher.
No cable.
There is Wifi in the house, and the internet is provided by satellite service. The service allows for multiple users (slight delay on video calls), but can get spotty/slow when weather is stormy.

We enjoyed our stay here while we were here for a wedding. It was everything we needed for our time in Massachusetts

My cousin, Sarah's dad built this house so I know it well. I came with 2 of my grandchildren to explore family history, and the trip was a great success.
I was sorry to miss seeing Sarah though.

What a beautiful setting and unique house. We very much enjoyed our stay and would return.

We enjoyed being able to open windows and the setting was relaxing. We saw a rafter of 8 turkeys and several deer.
Perfect weather and the "swimming hole," mentioned in the check in/out information is a must do!

We had planned to use the house as a base and spend most of our time exploring the area. The weather did not cooperate but the house was a perfect place to hang out while we waited for the rain to pass. A real gem!

This was our second year staying at the house. The house has a well stocked kitchen for cooking family meals and the views are just beautiful!

Vast 3-story high ceiling in main living/dining area. Third floor loft was way way up! (We couldn't figure out how to turn out the light up there...) Kitchen was well stocked. The library wall had a wonderfully eclectic selection of books. Bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. We didn't spend much time in the house because we were visiting family in the area, but it was very nice. Only drawback: the circular staircase to the second level was very narrow and quite steep (13 steps per floor, rather than the usual 14). A person with mobility problems would have a very hard time going up and down.

This is a average vacation home. But is over priced.

Well stocked kitchen
Beds are comfortable
Location is good not great
Not so good
There is one shower master has no shower

Over priced - 3 weeks ago we stayed down the street with same amenities for 1/2 the price. Needless to say that place is booked regularly.

What a wonderful home. The owners built this home for their family, and the thoughtfulness shows. There are cubbies next to the king size (thermapedic!) bed downstairs, for your glasses & water & phone & eye mask & book. There are bars in a few places (we called them “Grandpa’s bars” although we actually had no idea who they were for), and my wife was very grateful for the one next to the bed. The kitchen is well supplied. The bookcase is stocked with an amazing variety of books, including not only Goodnight Moon but also the 1911 Massachusetts State Documents for Charities & almshouses, which I might just scan in full when we return! It was a great place to stay with our adult son & his partner, who used the upstairs king bedroom. The third bedroom with 4 twin beds would be a dream room for a group of young cousins. My only warning is that you can only have 2 people who can’t do the spiral staircase. That was my wife & me, and we slept on the main floor. But our son was fine with the spiral staircase, and kids would be happy too!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is roomy and airy, minutes away from Shelburne Falls, Bridge of Flowers and the Trolley Museum. Not far from MassMoCA or the Clark too. Besides the rafting, kayaking, hiking and swimming, August is a good month for the various country fairs.

Deerfield Parents Weekend
The property is beautiful and the house is great. Even though the house is on Route 2, you would never know it. The view of the Deerfield River is awesome. The proximity to Shelburne Falls and Charlemont is great. We particularly loved Shelburne Falls.
The house is very comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped.
It was a great relaxing weekend in the Berkshires :-).

Very sweet home
Loved everything about this rental, the owners communication was great, as was the caretakers. Perfect location feeling secluded with a gorgeous view while only minutes from a cute downtown as well as numerous hiking trails, the river, and even a great playground for the kids. House is in spectacular shape, clean, comfortable, open, with comfy beds.

Blue House on the Hill
Our stay this weekend was great. It was close to activities and was very private. The house itself is gorgeous and the screened in porch with a grill was a nice bonus. Zoar Outdoor Adventure Park is a must see in the area. Our weekend was filled with zip lining and rafting. We will definitely visit again!

A great stay
Well-maintained home with an excellent view. High-ceiling living space. We saw a doe, a wild turkey, and a buck on the property. Because the house is away from the road, the night sky with thousands of stars is highly visible.

Great stay at a roomy and fun house
Great stay at a roomy and fun house. Clean and comfy. Plenty of space to relax and unwind. Kitchen has everything you need and the bbq came in handy as well. House is close to local shops and sites. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to families looking for a local base to enjoy the region’s offerings.

Idyllic Getaway
We loved our stay at this beautiful retreat. The house is large, clean, and well appointed. The pantry items were particularly appreciated for cooking. We watched the Persead meteor shower from the driveway after moon set and got sunburns at the nearby river swimming hole called sunburn beach. Perfect. We were sorry to leave.

Great stay!
The home was beautiful and perfect for my family! The yard was huge and the kids loved to play outside. Nothing was better than to smell the lilac bush and fresh air as we relaxed after a very busy couple days at a family wedding.

House and location are beautiful! Views to the Deerfield River in both directions. We enjoyed our stay, weather was great. Fishing great, catching slow. Flows very low for this time of year. Thanks for sharing your house!

Perfect getaway!
We were hoping to get away and explore this area while still staying pretty isolated, and this was the perfect option! Beautiful, comfortable, private house with lovely views, fields for the kids to run in and explore, and the most magical tree swing. We also loved the nearby swimming hole. Highly recommend this wonderful place!

White water rafting
Beautiful post and beam home. Very clean and comfortable beds. Nice screened in area where we spent most of our down time. A couple minutes away from Crabapple Rafting. Will definitely stay again. Everyone wants to do it again next year. Minor issues were leaking coffee maker. Could not figure out how to use the dish and tv. WiFi was pretty slow. In defense of the owner I did not notify her of the issues so she is probably unaware. Otherwise, the house had what we needed and was close to town. Thanks for letting us stay there!

What a Beautiful Setting
What a gorgeous property. Every window had a magnificent view. I had forgotten how beautiful this area is. When you visit don't miss the Bridge of Flowers. Spectacular.
Everything about the house was great. The only thing I would say, be prepared for the stairs to the upper floor. They are not for anyone who has any issues with climbing a spiral staircase! There is only one bedroom on the lower level.

Beautiful spot, beautiful house
The house was perfect for our four-person family reunion. The house, grounds and views are lovely. We took advantage of nearby hiking spots, museums, stores and restaurants. Our visit was everything we’d hoped it would be.

Perfect location and very comfortable house with lots of ambiance!
We came to spend Thanksgiving in Shelburne Falls with family who live just down the road so location couldn’t have been better! Lovely house well provisioned with beautiful views. It was bitter cold outside but house was snug and cozy!

Beautiful location and home
We had a wonderful stay at this spacious, beautiful home overlooking the Deerfield River. The beds are comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped. It was the perfect homebase for day trips in and around the Berkshires. There was plenty of places of interest to keep everyone occupied. We highly recommend Crab Apple Rafting, Berkshire East for the mountain coaster and mountain biking, High Ledges Wildlife Sanctuary for the panoramic view from the top, Tannery Falls is stunningly beautiful, Mount Greylock is amazing,

Perfect house for rained out plans
This was the perfect house to stay in for a weekend when rain cancelled all of our outdoor plans. Lots of space indoors for a big group to hang and not go stir crazy. It was also perfectly situated to still pop into Shelburne Falls or local wineries/orchards when the rain finally let up. Would most definitely rent again.

Great home for a memorable trip
This is a beautiful house across from a river. Close to several towns and perfect for what we needed..Everything we needed was there with plenty of clean towels, dishes and places for everyone to relax. We loved the breezeway.

Great house especially for special occasions
We celebrated our daughter's college graduation with friends and family. Ten of us stayed at the house for 2 days. Layout is fantastic, well equipped kitchen and very comfortable. Not all the mattresses were as comfortable as the Tempurpedic in the master bedroom but were definitely ok. Wonderful book collection. View of the river from living room windows gives it an isolated feel and you would never know the house was on a main road. Close to Buckland and Shelburne Falls that are quaint towns to visit. Do not miss the Bridge of Flowers. No reservations to recommend this house for any occasion!

OUTSTANDING HOME IN A BEAUTIFUL SETTING ❤️
Eight family members from across the country came together to celebrate a very special event. This home was perfect for us. Lots of space and the temperature inside even though it was cold outside was always perfect. The first snow of the season came the day before we left and the grounds and views were spectacular!
There was nothing we needed that wasn't there. Hopefully we will have another occasion to return.

Lovely spot to get together with old friends!
Beautiful property with everything we needed. Nice views of the Deerfield river, acres of lawn and woodlands. Very comfortable house and complete kitchen. Would definitely return here!

Comfortable, clean house with great views and a screened in porch!
Very nice, comfortable and clean house that had beautiful views. We were only there for 2 nights and out and about during the days so spent little time there, but would highly recommend this house. The location was close to town and a short drive to restaurants and the sights. The second floor is accessed by a spiral staircase which could be difficult if you are elderly or have bad knees. Again, we would highly recommend this house.

Great Spot!
We did a guys trip here for my buddies bachelor party this past weekend. The house is awesome and the grounds are expansive and stunning. The yard was the perfect spot for kan-jam and soft toss. The breeze way porch area is a great spot to hang out and the star gazing at night is amazing!!
We were 10 minutes away from the Great Outdoors riving tubing company. Tubing the river was a lot of fun and $25 got us a rental tube and a shuttle. At night we found that the Shelburne Falls Bowling Alley and the Mohawk Park Restaurant were the most accommodating to groups. For dinner we really liked Buckland Pizza which had a deck overlooking the river and live music.
We had a great time at the home and I would highly recommend staying there. My only complaint was the water pressure was pretty weak. Other than that zero complaints. Rent this house you won't be disappointed!
