It is so very charming. However, we were there a hot week and the house never cooled off even tho our hostess obtained a fan from next door. We loved the charm, we loved pretending we were living in the woods, but the tv was broken, the hostess tried to help us fix it, but couldn’t.I think this place would be a ten if there were just a few changes

We loved how cozy and rustic the house was. We also loved the deck and the trees surrounding it.

Property was lovely & nostalgic. However, I think some things could be upgraded. The master bedroom carpet was old & didn’t look clean. The bedding (Duvets) could use an upgrade maybe refreshed colors. The windows & sills were very dirty & patio was filthy & covered with eucalyptus leaves. The leaves should have been raked & cleaned up before place was rented to us

Really nothing to add. It was perfect for our purpose. Just three suggestions for future guests: 1) provide TV use instructions; 2) provide wifi access info, and 3) have some coffee grinds available. We were able to satisfy all three since your friends were their and provided the wifi password, and thus we were able to watch some of the Olympics on my laptop computer. And the coffee was no big deal. We just bought some. But many guests expect to have coffee available. Thanks, Annette and Steve!

We felt like we were in an amazing treehouse with a deck and home surrounded by eucalyptus trees. Such a wonderful experience.

Our 2nd time staying at Wire Cottage and it was perfect again. Simple walk down to the beach and town, plenty of pots, pans, plates, cooking materials, etc. and the hobbit sized doorways were still as fun as ever. The deck area is perfect to sit and read at in the afternoon or evening and the neighborhood was fantastically quiet, even during the 4th of July weekend.

We stayed just one night for a wedding. Each room felt separate and private which was great for two couples plus my mother in law who watched our baby at the house while we went to the wedding. Able to walk down to beach and along the main drag. perfect and exactly what we needed!!

Very quaint and charmingly rustic. Tucked away in the hillside trees and close to Woods Cove. Perfect setting. We had a relaxing winter getaway at the beach and weather was cool but lovely.

Wire Cottage is magical. We loved the spirit and vibe during our stay in Laguna Beach. A perfect get away for family dinners and game night. Everything we needed for quality time together.

The house and property are historic and a truly unique experience. Loved the history, the view, and the location. If you are used to a king-sized bed with your partner, the beds are small (double/queen). They are good quality but on the harder side. That would not keep me from coming back. The sunset views over the ocean from the porch are amazing, a 5-minute walk to the beach. Close drive to Crystal Cove, my favorite. Enjoyed all the historical information about the property, Orange County, and Laguna. Highly recommend this property.

Loved the cabin & reading about its history. Apparently the cleaners did not show up to clean/wash sheets, towels and empty trash cans. I would recommend finding a new service.

We so enjoyed the privacy and views
The 10am checkout is bit difficult if only staying one night

Went to Laguna for my wedding and got this place for my parents, brother and grandmother. This place was perfect for them. Plenty of space, cozy and all the amenities were great.

This is our second time Annette and Steve’s cottage. We loved every minute of it! Clean, comfortable and well appointed cottage with its rustic vibe, beautiful property and proximity to the beach make this cottage a dream for our family of Laguna natives that moved out of town but hearts remain.

The neighborhood cannot be beat — lush, private, quiet and close to both the beach and town.
The cabin is rustic and the layout a little funky (you enter through one of the bedrooms) but we loved it. The patio is a great place for coffee, lunch, drinks/dinner and there’s a nice view of the ocean.
We will definitely do another girls getaway here.

This little cottage near the beach was just what we needed!! It was quiet and quaint but close to all the beach action. We’d love to make this our yearly spot!!

Location was perfect. The lock box for the key was a little finickey and took a few brains to open. We did encounter a few spiders trying to crawl into our suitcase one of the nights. Overall a great location and a cute little place!
Cons:
Doorways are extremely narrow
Floors creek everywhere you step
Spider visitors
Pros:
Great location
Easy to get to
Beautiful outdoor patio

The smell of eucalyptus was intoxicating.
You can sit at the dining room table and see the ocean.
We had a fire every night.
The hosts were easy to contact and quick to answer.
I will recommend to family and friends.

What a quant little place. It reminds me of a the Tarzan Treehouse at Disneyland. It’s small and cozy with squeaky floors and tiny doorways. Such a beautiful setting among the Eucalyptus trees on the end of a tropical hillside. It has almost everything you’d need with lots of clean towels, kitchen ware and a big grill out on the amazing redwood deck overlooking the ocean. Be prepared for small, but beautiful. Quant but amazing. It’s priced right and we can’t wait to go back. An economical way to enjoy Laguna to the fullest without breaking the bank.

Super cute place to stay. At Christmas, sunset over the water perfectly lines up with the view. Quiet and woodsy; walkable to town and the beach.

This place is definitely an original! Quirky and rustic for sure. My friends and I really enjoyed smelling the beautiful eucalyptus trees and looking out at the ocean from the patio every morning. The price and convenient location are tough to beat!

Roomy, comfortable older home in a beautiful, peaceful setting within walking distance to the beach and town. Reserve an extra day or two to your reservation as you will want to spend more time in this place than you think you will.

We enjoyed our stay at this property. A quaint, rustic, hideaway close to the beach, about 4 blocks up. Went for a brisk walk in the morning around the cute neighborhood. We did not walk to the beach, so not sure of where the closest beach access was. Beds and pillows were comfortable. We loved sitting out on the deck with our door-dash dinner & wine! Thank you!

Unique house with lots of character in a charming neighborhood, ten minutes on foot from the beach and downtown but nestled in huge old trees with views of the ocean. Spacious deck perfect for outdoor meals. Perfect for those who enjoy nature and walking and don't mind hills.

The four of us loved the calm and beautiful property and the lovely historic rustic home. The shower was great, the kitchen was well stocked and had lots of matching beautiful china, the three bedrooms offered lots of privacy and the deck was so comfortable with a view of the ocean through the trees. The beds and linens were very comfortable and the living room was cozy with a wood burning fireplace.

Really cute cottage in Laguna! Gave this property 5 ⭐️ because it was clean and the description of the cottage was accurate, and it was priced appropriately. If you’re okay with not having all the bells and whistles of a fancy beach house, and can appreciate the unique history of this property, you’ll enjoy your stay. The floors were a little creaky, 2 bathrooms but only 1 shower - which was fine for our family of 4, beautiful deck with outdoor furniture, and a grill. My husband took a deep dive into the history of this property and it didn’t take long for my family to appreciate all the unique charm of the house. We cooked in the tiny kitchen a few meals and ate out a few meals. The house had everything we needed included a full size refrigerator. Clean linens, beach towels and chairs, an awesome porch that we ate our meals at, a walkable hilly neighborhood and lush vegetation. We enjoyed our 3 days in Laguna and can’t wait to return.

We loved the location of this cottage. The porch was my favorite area and we spent a lot of time enjoying the view of the ocean and birds. The yard is large and full of beautiful trees and plants. The house is rustic and has some tight hallways and creaky floors but it has charm. The kitchen is very basic but we liked having a full fridge and also used the grill on the porch one night. The beds were comfortable. We only used one of the showers because the second bath only has a small tub and didn’t use it. Having 2 toilets was helpful with 4 people staying. We stayed for a full week and I’m glad we chose this house!

As others say, it’s not for everyone. However, if you’re open to adventure, uniqueness and imperfections than this is the spot for you.
That said, they ensure clean, comfortable linens, all the kitchen needs, a great outdoor space and the ultimate, walkable location. For our family, this is more than enough. We’ll be back.

We spent February away from the snow in Colorado. This property is six blocks from the surf and sand. It is a true 1920’s Laguna cabin. The location is quiet and secluded, nestled in a eucalyptus grove. Our hosts kept in touch throughout our visit. We had a wonderful time.
