About this house rental
This monthly rental is in a very tranquil, located in a small, quiet waterfront community close to town. It has incredible views of the Low Country marshes and the intercoastal waterway. Sunsets are spectacular. For boating enthusiasts, we are a half mile from a public boat ramp. The beach and state park are 20 minutes away.
The house is on the second floor over a large two car garage, giving particularly pretty views from this higher vantage point. It has been completely renovated with an airy and open design.
There is tile throughout the living, dining, kitchen and bathroom areas. The house has glass all across the western exposure - with a large deck - to view the live oaks, marshes and the Beaufort River.
Bedrooms include one with a queen bed and one with twin beds. This is a non-smoking rental. High speed internet connection is available for those with their own laptops.
We are dog friendly. There is a strict leash law, & current vaccinations are required. No aggressive breeds are allowed.
There is an adjacent two story house with three bedrooms and accommodates six people (see listing #61962) which can also be rented.

Beautiful and peaceful setting for a reasonable price with all amenities. Minor glitch when we arrived, but Sarah took care of us and we even met her and her husband. They’re really good people and if you need anything they’ll take care of it.
Definitely would stay again.

We enjoyed our stay so much at this peaceful hideout that had everything we needed in an idyllic setting. The living area was spacious, with a full wall of windows overlooking the marsh where you can watch the birds and sailboats from the living room or balcony. Tile floors throughout - great for pets. All the switches are labeled. Hooks are conveniently located everywhere. Walking distance to the grocery store (about 1 mile). Minutes from the beach, restaurants and shopping.

Centrally located, a lovely, restful, and scenic apartment setting -- and the closest we'll get to living in a treehouse! We were able to view the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction from the deck! Hosts were very responsive!

I’ve stayed in Chuck and Sarah’s apartment for many years. Every time when I first walk in the door the apartment is always neat and clean with clean fresh sheets on the bed and clean towels hanging in the bathroom. The apartment is open and airy with floor to ceiling glass windows along the west side to take advantage of the great view of the marsh and the Beaufort river along with the spectacular sunsets. The apartment is well equipped and has comfortable furniture and plenty of closet space. If any issues come up that need attention, a quick text or call to Sarah and they’re taken care of.
But the location is what really makes this rental special. It’s located in a secluded and quiet neighborhood with friendly neighbors, but yet still very close to shopping on the island and only minutes across the bridge to historic Beaufort and Port Royal. The deck is a great place to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning and view the wildlife in the marsh coming to life for another day. I look forward to coming back every year.

Overall I had a great experience while staying in this apartment on Lady’s island. The location was great and I loved watching the sunset over the water from the deck. The property was equipped with all the essentials, furniture was comfy, lots of closet space. As a prior reviewer mentioned, there are old stains on the carpets, dusty blinds, and spider webs in ceiling corners but those minor things didn’t bother me. Overall the property didn’t feel unclean. Any issues I had were resolved very quickly and Sarah was always very friendly and accommodating. I would stay here again in the future.

Apartment was clean and suited our needs well. The view is fantastic and the location is centrally located for traveling to Port Royal, Beaufort, and surrounding islands.

We rented the main house last year and both the main house and garage apartment this year for one month each summer. It was a great fit for our family of 4 and two well behaved dogs. The neighbors are welcoming, and both porches have the most beautiful view of the intercostal waterway for coffee in the morning, happy hour in the evening, and for working remotely or entertaining family and friends. It's an ideal location for us as it's a fun bike ride over the bridge to the historic town of Beaufort, and is down the street from the the yacht club, restaurants, kayak rentals, and the grocery store, and just a short drive to beach time at Hunting or Fripp Island. Sarah, the host is kind and responsive to any requests or feedback, and we hope to return again next year.

I will do my best to summarize my extended stay at this VRBO, but will likely run out of space to fully give detail of my experience. Let me preface by saying my overall experience at this listing was both frustrating and disgusting. I have realistic standards for any property and do not consider myself to be a neat freak or go crazy about cleaning everything, but this rental was flat out gross. I first inquired on the VRBO app for availability of this listing and put in for a request on the booking. It took a few days for the owner to get back to me and the inquiry actually expired before she came back with an answer. I was informed the booking was not available the first week of my request, despite the VRBO listing showing it available on the calendar. The owner allowed me to stay in their neighboring listing and move to the originally intended property for the remainder of the stay. The first property was not very clean but nothing too crazy. I had to clean the fridge to make it usable and I was unable to use the dryer as there was some foreign/unknown substance coating the interior of the dryer drum. Later the owner informed me this was likely from drying floor mats and it was rubber caked on the inside. The owner and her husband insisted I had to move into the originally intended rental a day early because they had poorly planned on the next renters coming into the house I was currently staying in. I had to rush and pack my things with little notice and move over there. I never got a good look at the apartment or the condition of it, as they had all the windows and doors open and were actively cleaning inside. It wasn't until the next day when I really noticed how horrible the condition of the apartment was. I noticed a foul smell emanating from the bathroom and quickly narrowed the issue down to the shower curtain. It was once white but had taken on a dark yellow tinge and smelled of mildew. I thought the smell would have been eradicated with the replacement of this item but another smell overtook the apartment. I noticed the edge of the toilet had a dark yellow tinge to the sealant and upon further inspection it was apparent it was soaked in urine or some other foul smelling substance. Later I found the bed had large urine stains on it and the carpet had been peed on in several places. Dirt was caked onto the blinds in the kitchen and a thick deposit of dirt was under the kitchen cabinets. This listing is gross and a health hazard.
