[June 2020: Due to pandemic concerns, we shut down operations April 1 - June 9; the island has "opened up" again, and we are again comfortable hosting Kona guests! Our cleaning person Dianna, best on the big island, is there to make sure our unit is extra clean!]
Tastefully designed and newly upgraded reflecting quality and comfort, this top floor cozy condo is nestled among the tropical treetops, with private lanai and peek-a-boo views of the ocean. My wife and I affectionately call our unit #322 the Kona Dove. It is, in our opinion, one of the more desirable units in the Kona Islander Inn complex; ours is a top-floor unit, away from the traffic noise of Alii drive and Kuakini Highway, but close enough to hear soothing surf sounds at night. Our west-and-south facing lanai has an extra-expansive and open view since our unit is also a corner unit. And my wife Therese is an artist and designer- we keep our unit lovely and clean inside!

This newly upgraded, top floor end unit features:

• Interior artfully designed in hardwood and woven rattan “island style” furnishings, end table, large dresser, café table with two chairs, and an accent chair for additional seating.
• Tropical morning sun pours onto your lanai, where you can sip your smoothie and contemplate your day. We’ve added a new patio table, chairs and pull down sun-shade
• one comfy Queen-size bed.
• Fully equipped kitchenette with brand new microwave, mini refrigerator, coffee maker, blender, electric skillet, cutting boards, dishware, serve-ware and utensils.
• A quality 40” inch flat screen TV with remote and free cable. High speed internet available in reception/lobby area.
• Cozy upgraded bathroom with new modular shower and chrome fixtures with pocket door off of kitchen for privacy, hair dyer and extra towels.
• A lovely bedroom/living area with sliding glass doors that lead out to your private lanai.
• New air conditioner with remote control.
• Spectacular location in the heart of historic Kailua Kona Town, in close proximity to beaches, snorkeling, cafes, shopping, dining and farmer’s produce and artist’s market. Just a few steps through the garden to the pool/Jacuzzi area where there are two gas BBQ grills for your use.

Great place for short stays. We stayed for a week and loved the convenient location and the shoreline across the street. The bed was very comfy, and we loved breakfast on the balcony every morning. The only drawback is the kitchen which doubles as the bathroom sink. The lack of cupboards and counter space was beginning to get on my nerves, but for a short stay, it’s wonderful!

This was a quick get away from the heat of Phoenix, visiting a freind, different scenery, and relax. This property unit had what we needed. Decor and patio all said Hawaii. Steps away from good food at Java Lava which we frequently visited and a beautiful sunset dinner at Huggos. Evenings spent on patio and could hear the crashing surf occasionally. Other than our excursions to Volcano National Park and to Hilo we preffered just relaxing at the property.

We enjoyed this unit, comfy bed and linens, fun art as decor, great balcony for morning coffee, quiet complex, good location for walking along the town waterfront. Appreciated the AC and the cool nightlight. Hate to pack up but off to a wedding in Hilo. Thank you!!

Very cute condo with small view of ocean. Adorably decorated. Enjoyed location very much. Only disadvantages were not full kitchen, no washer/dryer in unit, not enough parking. My elderly mother and I had to park block away at 9:30 pm and walk to condo.

We really liked our stay here, the unit was small but ideal for a couple. The unit is on the top floor located in the corner of the building, affording a glimpse of the ocean from the lanai. The location is great, easy walking to the ocean street and real fine resorts. Didn't use the amenities on property, too busy enjoying the Big Island!

We were here for 2 nights, and it was dreamy, sunrise and sunset colors from the balcony, had everything we needed, and super close to the beach front. David was kind enough to help with a reservation I botched at the last minute, and we are so thankful! Mahalo!

The location was very good, walkable to the water and convenient for the activities we wanted to do. It was modern and up to date. The patio was comfortable but not a good view of the water because the vegetation had grown. Due to limited space, the bathroom and kitchen share the same counter and sink for food preparation/cleanup and for shaving/brushing teeth, etc.

Everything you need for a stay right in the heart of Kona! Comfortable, clean and nicely decorated with a lovely lanai that has more than a peek-a-boo view of the ocean. The property also has a nice pool as well as laundry facilities. The hosts were just a text away. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone.

This condo was squeaky clean and well maintained. Decor was so cute too! Great location close to restaurants and downtown Kona. Good value, would stay here again. ☺️ The only thing that was a bummer was parking. It was really difficult to find a parking space, particularly in the evenings. We often had to park on the side of the highway. This has nothing to do with the host, the complex just doesn't have enough on site parking.

Had a lovely stay at this cozy, clean, and quiet studio. The lanai is private and nestled among lovely tropical plants/trees. Condo is located in center of town so it is easy walking distance to restaurants, shops, and beaches. A vehicle is not needed with free trolley and bus service. Dave is an exceptional communicator and had quick responses and remedies to my inquiries. Condo was very clean. Will return again.

This property was a great place to stay. Right in the heart of Kona and easy to get to anywhere you needed. The hosts provided excellent communication and were available whenever we needed them. Mahalo!

The property is next to Ali’i Drive which has lots of restaurants and bars. The property was very clean and had a wonderful view of the ocean even though it’s not ocean front. The only concern we had is that there isn’t a bathroom sink.

This little place was an absolute delight. Quiet in spite of being in downtown Kona. Easy to walk to shops, restaurants, beaches. Beautiful tropical landscaping gave a special atmosphere. Perfect accommodations if you are planning to be out and active during the day. We did struggle at first without a full kitchen but the appliances were a huge help. Would definitely come back!

Nice clean studio apartment with a spacious living area, very well stocked with kitchen things. Absolutely lovely lanai looking out over plumeria trees. Our only complaint was that the polyester sheets were hot and the AC was noisy.

We used to live in Kona so we knew the location was good. Easy walk to restaurants and town. Unit is on the 3rd floor with stairs up. Good clean unit size of hotel room. The owner contacted us ensure all was well. Overall a good stay and I would stay there again.

This is a beautifully furnished & decorated studio located close to a small dining/shopping area. The living/ dining/sleeping area was great. The kitchen/bathroom area were pretty cozy but functional. The balcony was lovely. It worked well for our 4 night stay.

This condo is perfectly located in the heart of the action with plenty of restaurants and shops in walking distance, plus access to the ocean. Just 15 minutes from airport. Loved the partial water view from the balcony and the tropical landscaping around the complex.
