I look for a house with a Longs Peak view and this home was great with it’s fabulously big deck.
Our host reminded us to lock the top on the trashcan because neighbors said there had been bears in the neighborhood.
To our delight, 3 days later there were 2 juvenile bears wrestling in the yard and crossing the driveway. The first sighting ever in Estes Park, and although it was early in the season we saw and heard a bull elk bugling which we love.
I haven’t mentioned that the home was perfect for our family. The 4 bedrooms gave us privacy but also large gathering spaces. A very clean and well kept home. We thoroughly enjoyed your home and our stay!
Thank you for hosting us.

I think the deck with a view of Long's Peak did it for me but the whole property and house are fantastic. About a mile from the park entrance and just a short drive to downtown Estes. House has neighbors but not close and you feel secluded. Lots of books, movies to watch (kids watched several movies), games. I can't begin to tell you how great it was. Any questions I had Aaron answered immediately. We would all (10 of us, me, my kids and 5 grandkids - almost 2, 8, 9 and 10 year olds) would all stay again and recommend it highly. The dishwasher, washer & dryer, comfy furniture, recommendations for food (mmm Poppy's pizza), hikes.... Thanks, Aaron & family!

This was just what we needed. Could not have asked for anything better. My son-in-law already wants to come back and stay here! The host was wonderful, very helpful. Wish we could have stayed longer.

The property was very nice in a quiet location. The owners were very thorough with instructions . Plenty of room for us and great proximity to Rocky Mountain national park! Plenty of towels and spices in the cabinets . Loved the pin ball game !

We reviewed many properties before choosing this one. Some of the features that stood out in the listing and came through in our actual stay...the views-SO nice, location-zip right over to the park, the rustic homey feel of the place, the comfy couches and living room area, enough bedrooms for the kids to spread out, laundry, deck, bonus was the sunroom (we had a puzzle going while we were there), all the rooms had what you would expect (towels, dishes, etc). The owners were fantastic to communicate with and helped remind us about those important details like trash day! We had a mixup with silly Amazon being way late with our order and they went above and beyond to help connect the item with us! We saw wildlife on the property, we enjoyed the proximity to the park and town. We took a day trip to Loveland and basically had the Loveland Lazer Tag place to ourselves. Most of the group hiked everyday with the favorites being Alberta Falls, Skypond, and Flattop Mountain. Overall everything was great and we'd stay there again if we have the chance to return in the future!

Place was in a beautiful location!! Saw elk/deer in our yard, mountain lion just down the street while we were there. Will be coming back and actually talked about getting our own place there!!

The house was well furnished. The pinball machine was very popular with us and guests! (.50/game or 5 games for $2.00) Kitchen was outfitted nicely to prepare meals. The gas grill was a bonus. Plenty of room for guests to stay comfortably. The wood burning fireplace was so cozy. We ordered some wood to be delivered and had a fire most evenings. The views from the deck and living room were specular! We had 3 to 4 inches of snow three times. We never tired of the views! Enjoyed walking around the neighborhood and driving all around Estes Park. We were thrilled to see so much wildlife! A lot of mule deer, elk and a bobcat hunting mice on a couple of occasions. Our stay was a month long and we hated to leave. The Acela's were always prompt to address any questions. We would definitely like to return!

The location was wonderful (close to RMNP and Estes Park) and the property was clean. The property had everything that we needed. The owner was prompt in all communication and responses to questions. I most enjoyed the views from the living and dining room.
I rated it 4 stars for 2 reasons. We arrived on Monday Jan 1 and the 2 extra large trash cans in the garage were overflowing with trash from the previous occupants. By Tuesday the trash odor could be smelled in the bottom level of the home and continued until trash pick up on Thursday. The owners communicated that we were responsible for taking the trashcans to the curb for trash pick up. I asked about the overflowing trash cans and the owners requested that we do our best to close the trashcans so that the animals would not get into the trash (if they did we would be assessed a fine). I don't mind dealing with my own trash but I do not like having to handle and be responsible for other people's trash.
The previous occupants left patio furniture outside on the deck (the house instructions say to move all of the patio furniture into the enclosed porch). We did not use or move any of the patio furniture. When I asked about leaving the patio furniture as it was when we arrived, I was told that it needed to be moved to the enclosed porch. I did not like having to be responsible for the previous occupants' failure to comply with the house rules.

House on the Rocks was inviting and cozy. It provided all the amenities that we were looking for a Christmas/Graduation celebration. Everything was like the comfort of home!
We were overly excited with the herd of Elk that just hung around the neighborhood our week stay. We also got our wish come true… we got a foot of SNOW! WOW the Mountains in their most beautiful form! What a wonderful stay we had!

The "On The Rocks" estate is a cabin built in the 90s, and it certainly looks the part. But don't let that deter you! This property is wonderfully clean, charmingly decorated, and spacey enough to house a small army. This cabin has a perfect view of the mountains toward the South Side of the park, and you'll see plenty of wildlife wandering through the yard during your stay. It's a breezy 5 minute drive from the cabin to the park entrance. The hosts are very friendly and communicative - we really appreciated all of their helpful tips, activity suggestions, and comprehensive cabin instructions! The heating and cooling are a little fickle, as the air is released via baseboard radiators that are scattered around the cabin, but once we got used to it, we were able to properly control the temperature. I highly recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay. We had everything we needed to cook meals, it was so nice to have a good gathering space for family, the proximity to the Rocky Mountain National Park was fantastic, and downtown Estes Park was great too. The mountain views were phenomenal and the wildlife was really fun to watch. It was a bit difficult to cool the house down on hot days, but I think we picked a really hot week to go.
Overall we very much enjoyed our stay. Will recommend to friends and family.

This was a beautiful and clean house. The views were amazing - the photos online don't do it justice. Really incredible. We did a lot of long hikes starting early in the morning. Then we returned to the house and relaxed and rested weary feet in the afternoons watching the "summer monsoons" pass across the peaks which was pretty magical. The location was perfect - just minutes from one of the park entrance station which made it easier on those early morning "timed entry" passes. There is a small grocery store just down the hill too, so it was easy to pick up supplies and cook our own meals and buy hiking food for our daypacks. We loved this place and would definitely recommend it. Communication with the owners was very clear and easy.

Aaron, Heidi, and Ed were great hosts and easy to work with. The check-in process was a breeze, the location of the house was tremendous, and the views of the Rocky Mountains were great from sunrise to sundown. The house was spacious, easily able to accommodate our party of 5, and the grill made for some great afternoon grilling after a long day of hiking. The only thing we were concerned about was the lack of air conditioning but by strategically opening the windows to get a cool breeze and closing the shades during the hottest parts of the day we were able to cool down the house to our liking. Thanks, Aaron, Heidi, and Ed for letting our group use their house to explore Colorado and have a memorable vacation!

We really enjoy staying at On the Rocks at Estes Park. Aaron was very helpful throughout the stay providing detailed directions and info. The view in the morning while having breakfast is just amazing. We are avid hikers and the fact that the Rocky Mountain ranger station was just 6-7 minutes away was really helpful for the adult kids to maximize their sleep. All the amenities were great. Thanks a lot, Aaron.

We give a big shout out to our hosts Ed, Aaron & Heidi for this wonderful VBRO. The home is a great location to the entry point of the Rocky Mountain National Park and close drive to the city of Estes Park. This home has all the immensities of home, plenty of beds, 2 full baths, full kitchen stocked with all the utensils to cook. And wow, what a panoramic view of the Rockies from the living and dinning rooms. We hung out on the deck alot with the same views of the Rockies. This was our second time at this VBRO and we were not disappointed. Thanks for the great vacation experience and a the break from everyday routine....it was worth it!

This place was great for my friends and I. We stayed here for spring break so that we could hit a lot of trails. This place was only 15-20 min from a lot of the trail heads within the Rocky Mountain National Park. Ran into no issues with the place. Only weird thing, which was trivial, was the link between the TVs in the bedrooms. My friend and I turned on our tv in one room and it also turned on the tv in the room where another one of my friends was sleeping. I then went in and turned that tv off but my friend who was sleeping later came in and said that his tv was back on.

Beautiful views, comfy atmosphere and beds, very responsive owner. Disappointed in the TV service - not the mainstream channels available. Loved the ability to build a fire in the fireplace.

We had 2 families from out of town come to enjoy this house for a week. The house is perfectly sized for 2 families with kids. It was well stocked with everything we could need! The views from the porch and the windows were amazing!! We had lots of animal visitors which the kids loved.
The house is super close to the park, groceries, restaurants and downtown. The location was absolutely perfect. The owners were wonderful and communicated well through the whole trip and booking.
I cannot recommend this house enough for you RMNP and Estes Park vacation!!

This is a great place to stay! Easy check in, and great communication. The property was just as described, and we all had plenty of room. It is a great location just outside the south Rocky Mountain park entrance. Town is right down the road within a few minutes, and I will definitely stay here again.
