Its big handcrafted logs welcome guests as a comfy home away from home and from there guests have easy access to all the Adirondack Park has to offer.

Throughout the day, golden light fills the cabin’s rooms, and there is a constant feeling of spaciousness and peace.
Just beyond the light-filled entryway, the living room awaits you with a stone faced gas fireplace, home theater television with surround sound and high-speed Wi-Fi. Tall windows frame the Moose River and trees outside – seasonal art in themselves, ablaze with color in fall or garlanded in snow. Sliding doors open to an outdoor living area with outdoor dining, Adirondack chairs, fire pit and the fresh balsam air of the forest.
Moon Over Moose is as suited for relaxing after a day of hiking, biking, kayaking, paddleboard, golfing (to name just a few) as it is for high-style entertaining. With its stove, full size fridge, dishwasher, and array of gourmet cooking equipment, this luxury Adirondack Mountain rental property can accommodate cooking enthusiasts or a professional chef. The room has an open layout and a prep table that make meal preparation easy and communal. Just beyond the kitchen is a covered porch with a gas barbecue grill for cooking in the open air.
This main level also holds a charming light filled log bedroom with a queen bed and easy access to a full bath with walk-in shower.
The upper level holds the cabin’s spacious bedroom one with ensuite bathroom. A rough-hewn, log frame queen bed and vaulted ceilings await you. Comfy seating and a desk overlooking the Moose River for those dreaming of a quiet and contemplative space for writing. Relax and unwind in the spacious jetted soaking tub or walk-in shower as you gaze out at the treetops!
Bedrooms two and three share full bath with tub/shower are on this upper level. Each bedroom has one queen bed and extra twin bed off to the side - so each room could comfortably sleep three tired adventurers. Bedroom two overlooks the Moose River while bedroom three has a cozy window seat – and both have comfortable seating and reading lights for those seeking a quiet spot to relax. An alcove at the top of the stairs is the perfect meeting spot for a spontaneous game of cards!
Moon Over Moose’s lower level is where guests will find some of the home’s great diversions: a game room with pool table and foosball table, lots of board games, and a framed poster of the Adirondack High Peaks, just to whet the appetite. The guest room has two log twin beds, standing side by side. A bathroom with shower and washer/dryer are on this floor. Great cabin- all the feels of nature but with all the high qualities of a grand house all in one. Had a great time with the family that we will never forget!!

This house provided the perfect log cabin adventure just outside of Old Forge. The location on the Moose River provided the perfect backdrop to bond as a family. The house itself was well supplied and included all the items needed for a fantastic weekend. The owner Paul is very informative about the area and provided us with great ideas of areas to visit. His response rate was incredible and made for an easy stay with no issues. We were able to take advantage of the Moose River and kayak both directions exploring nature. The house includes four kayaks and a canoe to allow all of us to go exploring together. The deer roam right through your yard daily and just add to the cabin experience. We also had a pair of ducks who would visit multiple times a day. The smokeless fire pit is impressive and I enjoyed trying it out. Our family decide to try out the Llama trek with Moose Creek Farm- fantastic! The owner is extremely knowledgeable and has a true passion for animals. For $25 dollars you recieve a full tour of the farm as well as the lovely walk through the woods with your Llama. The owner responds quickly to texts but slots do fill up quickly so plan ahead. We also did Daikers Restaurant- ideal location with good food. The house has great walks close by, including a bike trail if your feeling adventurous. This house is a gem that should not be missed. You will recieve a true log cabin experience.

We spent 5 nights in Paul’s home this March. It was the perfect Winter get away. The house is beautiful and well equipped with plenty of space for everyone to spread out. McCaulley mountain (a ski mountain) is just a short 10 minute drive away and the town of Old Forge is just down the road. We can’t wait to return next winter!

The owner was very bad
He didn’t want us to use heat
We payd for everything
We payed for cleaning and everything and he still send me a bill like we left stuff in there
And before we left the house we cleaned up everything nothing was messy
I don’t recommend this place to nobody
Because the owner is crazy
He just wanna change extra for anything after you leave the house

Beautiful Home!
We really enjoyed our stay. The owner was very helpful and responsive.
The only negative we had was that I didn’t see the statement about bringing your own sheets and towels (my fault) and had to pay an extra charge of $175 for them.
We loved seeing the deer and that we were close to town.

Old Forge 2021
Paul, you have a beautiful home! Thank you for sharing it with us! We were very pleased with the house, the amenities, and the property.
The only negative we have is that our beds were hard and uncomfortable.
One suggestion would be to put mirrors in the 2 upstairs bedrooms that share the bath, so that while one person is in the bath the other could use the mirror to get ready.
All in all, it was a wonderful getaway, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend the property to others!
Thank you!

Excellent property!
This home is spacious and clean; there were plenty of beds and they were all quite comfortable. We enjoyed the access to the canoe and the river scenery even though it was a chilly time of year. Having a fireplace in the house was much appreciated!

Perfect Fall Getaway
The Moon Over Moose is the perfect house for a family getaway! The space itself is stunning, clean, and incredibly designed to make an easy, relaxing vacation. The house has everything you need from canoes to salad spinners! You cannot beat the views or the walkability to town! The host, Paul, is very communicative making the booking, check in and check out process seamless (and stress relieving in these times). Thank you for hospitality Paul! We cannot wait to come again.

Summer 2020
The cabin and property were the perfect location for our family vacation after a challenging 2020. The location from Old Forge was a short walk and the dock on the Moose River was perfect to launch our kayaks almost daily. We will be back! Thank you to Paul for making the process so easy.

Accessibility, Animals, & Abundant Amenities
Great location - whether it is getting on Moose River or biking into town or going to the beach.
Wildlife - saw deer, ducks, geese, bear, otters, all kinds of birds, turtles, crayfish, frogs...great fun for the kids!
Amenities - house had everything you need to make a great meal (no need to pack your best cooking knife, cutting board, or even coffee bean grinder). Kids loved learning how to play pool. The fully finished basement was a nice place to cool off during some of the hot days. Great flow between kitchen, dining room, living room.
Paul was a phenomenal host - very responsive and anticipated some of our inquiries. Thank you!

Beautiful home in a perfect Adirondack location
This home is even more gorgeous than it looks. We had four couples together for a weekend and there was space for everyone to spread out and relax, as well as have their own bathroom. Everything you needed was already at the house. We went in the fall and the weather was crisp, so the fireplace and fire pit were a great plus! It was within walking distance to town. The owner was great at communicating and pleasant to work with. We hope to stay there again.

Moon Over Moose
Nothing to be desired at the Moon Over the Moose vacation home! The vacation home décor is absolutely beautiful, very clean throughout with a well-equipped kitchen. The grounds and river setting make great views for morning coffee and evening sunsets. Easily 5 stars!

Great stay!!!
This was a wonderful place to stay - exceeded all of our expectations. Clean, spacious, well stocked, charming and beautiful. Great for our family, including grandparents. We loved the kitchen for preparing meals each night.
Paul was a great communicator and the check in process and check out process was smooth. We loved being on the moose river and canoeing/ paddle boarding off the back dock. Great location. A short drive into Old Forge with cute shops, restaurants, access to pontoon boat rentals, ect.
We are hoping to come back next year!

Very Nice Log cabin
The place was very nice along with the owner. we had a wonderful time. We had over 20 people staying there at different times and there was more than enough room. Place was located in a great spot. We were hoping to do some fishing but the water was too warm and very low so that didnt work out. The only issue we had was upon check out. His maid service told him that the place was messy and that we had left garbage, which was not true.. They also stated we did not make the beds, which was true but we didnt we needed to thinking that they brought new comforters and blankets for each new renter. Obviously not. He charged us an additional fee on top of the cleaning fee he charges for the rental. . We cleaned everything but did not sweep or mop floor. I would suggest taking pictures when you leave.

Casual luxury in a beautiful wooded setting
This is our second stay at Moon Over Moose-and it never disappoints. The house is beautiful, spacious, immaculate, and situated such that you can enjoy the privacy of nature with easy access to town. We stay here with another family and there is plenty of space to gather to play games, but also a number of nooks for quiet/alone time if needed. The Tobie trail is close for easy access to biking, and the Moose River is in your backyard for kayaking and canoeing. Hikes with stunning views are close by.
Paul is quick to respond by email if you have questions or concerns-and even minor issues are remedied within hours!
What I love best is that it is elegant and casual at the same time. The beauty of the home makes you feel like you are living the luxurious life, while at the same time its cozy comfort allows you to truly relax.
We are very fortunate to be able to share this home with them!

Luxuriously comfortable
Moon over Moose is a destination which, I believe, will spoil you for any other in the Adirondacks. The cabin setting is pristine with well-tended grounds; once inside, you notice wonderful design features giving an upscale rustic nature. A well equipped kitchen provides everything an aspiring chef would need. While specific amenities are described on the website, thoughtful touches are everywhere- covering entertainment both indoor and outdoor. The owner Paul was in helpful contact to offer suggestions for dining and explorations. We could not have been more satisfied with our stay here and anticipate a return visit to enjoy another season.

Perfect for Our Vacation
This property was perfect for our family get away. Beautiful 3-story with a well-stocked kitchen and plenty of bedrooms, bathrooms, game room, tvs, board games, etc. On Moose River (as my 3 year old granddaughter said "there is a moon on the water and one in the sky" -- thus the name of Moon Over Moose). Private enough, we had a small campfire each evening, canoeing and kayaking on the river and bike path close by, sort walk to Old Forge. Property manager provided plenty of information. Will definitely be back if we can get everyone together again!

Beautiful home and nice surroundings
Thank you for letting us have this beautiful home for a weekend. It is super nice. We had so much fun with kids and such a relaxing time here. It is walk-able distance to the downtown areas. My kids enjoyed fishing, food and mini-golf there. We would spend 2-3 more days to discover the beautiful state park there. So many things to do!

Great Family Time!
The Choma Home was the perfect spot for our annual family trip. The kids loved the lower level for their get away area from the adults. The home was well equipped with everything we needed to celebrate Thanksgiving while we were there. The only thing carried in other than our personal belongings and paper products was the turkey and the roasting pan. Everything else we needed we were able to grab at the local A&P market around the corner. Tony Harper’s pizza was tasty the night we arrived. The views, the hike up Bald Mtn, the snow, the wildlife, the gas fireplace, even the power outage due to heavy snow were all just what we needed! Thank you for building such a great place in an awesome location and letting us share in its wonders.

A real Gem on the Moose River so close to Old Forge
We had an amazing time at this very clean and spacious log home.
The home is so well appointed and clean. We will definitely be back again!

Wilderness Paradise
This place is a gem-we are so lucky that the Choma's are willing to share it with us!
It is beautiful, spacious, and immaculate. The location on the Moose River and just around the corner from the Tobie Trail (for biking/running) make it perfect for families and wilderness explorers. It is close enough to town that you can get there easily (<5 min drive, 10-20 min walk), but quiet and secluded enough to have numerous deer and the occasional bear visit your backyard!
We stayed here with another family-and there was plenty of space for gathering, but also a number of quiet nooks for alone time. The cabin is decorated beautifully-as you can see from the photos. My only caution (as a pediatrician) would be to parents of young children-the staircases are gorgeous but somewhat open. You would need to keep close watch, hold hands, and use the rail-or speak to Paul about how to safely barricade the landings.
Paul was extremely attentive to our questions-answering email almost instantly.
We already booked for next year, and hope to make coming here a new tradition!
