Our stay to celebrate my dad’s 75th birthday was perfect! The location of the property being right on the water was so peaceful, and everything was clean and cozy! The beds were AWESOME, which is always so hit or miss, and can really make or break a stay (more “miss” than “hit”usually!) We really enjoyed our stay as a family for this special milestone!

If you want peace and quiet surrounded by nature’s beauty, this is the place to stay! We loved the location, the music of the stream while relaxing on the porch, watching various wildlife on the property (deer, rabbits, squirrels, chipmunks, and groundhogs). The interior was great with outdoor decor, all the essential appliances for making food, and comfort areas were great. Property Manager was extremely helpful when we had one small issue which he quickly remedied. Highly recommend!

Nice, quiet location along the stream centrally located between Elk Viewing sites.
The central air worked out well for two days it was in the 90s outside.
Native trout in the stream. Recommend that you bring fly rod.

Beautiful property! We loved hanging out in the creek and the big front porch. We saw over twenty Elk riding around. Lots of deer and fawns too many to count. Turkey with babies and a duck in the creek with five babies. Looking forward to coming back.

As advertised and connsitent with previous reviews. Cabin and property is well maintained. Very nice kitchen that is well equipped with everything you could possibly need. Fishing Bennetts Branch was good for trout just outside the back door. Lots of deer each evening. Did not see elk on the property during our stay but you don't have to go far to see. Suggest stopping by the small general store just a few miles away as well as the small local shop. All of the locals we talked to were so nice. Will definitely book again.

We absolutely loved the property. Our boys enjoyed playing sports in the fields along with running with our dog. We saw 3 large bulls (elk) in the front yard one morning, which was awesome. It is also close to everything you need and want to visit in Benezette. The house was clean and homey. We plan to stay again next year!

We had a wonderful time even though the weather was rainy and the elk did not have much of a show. As always we enjoyed our stay. Will love to book again for next year.

Our family had such a wonderful stay at this beautiful location. We enjoyed walks on the property and the view of the river from the deck. The best part was having coffee and watching the elk from the dining room window in the morning. We absolutely fell in love with this beautiful home and property. We hope to come back and stay again

Stayed here for the first time. House was nice. Only complaint was our bed. The middle was flat but then slanted to the floor on each side. So you felt like you were going to fall out. Terrible. We didn’t get to spend much time outside because it rained the entire day. But inside the home was beautiful.

****PROS****
.
--Vast beautifully manicured property. Mowed just as it shows in the pictures. Ample places for kids to play and let their imaginations run wild.
.
--Easy stream access and ample room for a canopy/sunbrella, table, blanket and a few chairs on the shoreline.
.
--Clean. The living room has vaulted ceilings, from which I didn't spy a single cobweb hanging.
.
--Ample wildlife, including chipmunks and crayfish for the kids to catch. We spied 3 bull elk in the front yard on two different evenings, as well as two others on one of the mornings. They are massive and majestic.
.
--Better wifi than expected. No streaming, but enough to check-in with the office.
.
****CONS****
.
--Kitchen is clean and functional but dated. You'll also want to bring your own wine glasses and corkscrew.
.
--Not the best tasting water, but the fridge does have a water filter.
.
--You are going to be asked to dispose of your garbage at a location that's maybe 10-15 minutes away.
.
--Not many options nearby to pick up things you might have forgotten (which is also oddly also a pro). I'd suggest Amazon or InstaCart (which seems to deliver from Home Depot and a small convenience store in town.)
.
--And finally, you are going to need to clear some time for a little more cleaning than is requested at most rentals. Its not backbreaking though -- and something you'll begrudgingly do, because you're going to want to come back.
.
All of this said -- we'd absolutely visit once again.

I’m a wildlife photographer and we are in the area 2-3 times a year. We will definitely be returning.
Pros: Great location and privacy. The master bed was comfortable, LR furniture is nice, kitchen is very well equipped, plenty of towels and wash rags. Nice to have the creek just steps away.
Cons: Can use a good cleaning.

Myself and three adult daughters spent 3 nights at this location. Its located off the main road near the creek surrounded by the mountains. The back covered porch overlooking the stream was our hangout. We only left the cabin one time. Had a nice fire in the fire pit one night. We were able to see two cow elk and their two calves in the stream cooling off. We all agreed on coming back next year.

This trip was a surprise gift for my in-laws. They never vacation and love the town of Benezette. They had had wonderful time and were thankful to be able to disconnect from work for a few days. They loved the front porch and sat there every morning and evening.

What a great place to relax and enjoy the outdoors as well as the indoors. The owners have taken every consideration for the guest and made our stay awesome. This house is very well equipped in every room. From Wi-Fi to generator, from kitchen to laundry and to porch I was impressed. Most enjoyable was viewing the stream from the porch. I an anxious to return.

The cabin and location is perfect for a mountain get a way. The cabin is clean, rustic and cozy. Located stream side.. we enjoyed fishing and relaxing by the water. The cabin is also near other other activities ; hiking , elk watching , fly fishing and a little wine tasting. We enjoyed all.

We absolutely loved our stay. This is the kind of cabin that just allows you to breathe a little slower and take it easy! We had our 4 children with us celebrating our oldest turning 16. The guys all tried to do a bit of fishing but it was a rather rainy day. Even with the weather being a bit unfavorable, we had an amazing time. It is a special place to spend time with family. We would absolutely love to spend another weekend at this cabin soon! I would certainly recommend it to anyone who would like to escape from the world for a bit! The cabin was beautifully clean and very well stocked up with everything that we needed.

Check in was easy. Received an email and call from owner 2 days out. Were greeted with a small group of elk in the yard upon arrival. Wood stove made the cold nights (9-20*) cozy. Took nice walks along the creek with the pups daily. Lots of elk and a couple of eagles. A small herd of deer visited daily including 2 nice buck. Have stayed here 3 times and look forward to the next visit.

This property is only a few miles from the Elk Country Visitor Center in Benezette, and it is a lovely place to stay. Since this was our first experience with a Vrbo stay, we were quite impressed! . It is peaceful and quiet, with the only difficult aspect being the entry to the driveway ... we missed it the first time down the road! The property is well maintained, and very comfortable ... since we didn't plan to be there more than two nights, we did not bring food products as we planned to eat in town ... however it is important to know that there really is only one place to eat dinner and basically no place to get breakfast. Our main focus was to see the elk, so we spent most of the time visiting all the overlooks and doing activities at the visitor center. But this property would be perfect for a small family gathering over several days' stay!! Our contact with the property owner was prompt and helpful when we couldn't figure out how to make the lock box open (OUR mistake, not a problem with the lock box!) and questions we had were promptly answered via text, once we learned about WiFi calling! As seniors, we try to stay up-to-date with technology, but totally welcomed the assistance of the young folks at the Benezette Hotel Restaurant! We will definitely remember this property for any future trips to this location!

Had a wonderful time. Saw two bull elk on the last day from dining room window. Planning on booking again.

Nice home on the river, beautiful setting. We appreciated having a place for our horses. House needed cleaning, very dusty Knick knacks. We weren’t planning on having to take ALL our trash home with us, and also be expected to clean the house aa thoroughly as was noted in the check out instructions. For what we payed a night, it seems that should be included. Overall, a pretty setting, and convenient to local attractions.

This is always a great place to stay. Our family looks forward to it every year. The Elk is just an added bonus. Can't wait until next year.

This was a great property for outdoor fun. Creek running beside property gave us some fishing fun. Fire pit and picnic table were nice for evening campfire. Plenty of space inside with all the essential amenities and more. We definitely would stay here again.

Thank you for another wonderful stay! Everything was clean, the kitchen is well stocked with pots and pans and utensils for just about anything you would need. The setting is beautiful along the creek. We saw 2 bald eagles, an owl, Turkey and deer without leaving the cabin during our stay. And of course, we love taking a cruise to see the elk!
