This house is incredible with everything you could need! Everything about the house was perfect and exactly as described! Our family loved the decor, house and of course the view! We loved (and used) the detailed binder that was left with any questions you could have about the house or where to go and what to do in the area! Thank you allowing us to use your perfect house! We’d love to visit next year again.

This place is beyond wonderful! We have been coming here every summer for the past few years and as soon as we get here all of our cares and worries are washed away, as we ease into relaxation and truly special days of reading on the magnificent porch overlooking the waves as they crash into the rocks. We love to walk down to the rocks and watch the water- throughout the day, the light on the water changes, as do the waves with the tide. It’s so relaxing!
The house itself is so clean and cozy, with everything you could need or want and the hosts are awesome and responsive. We always appreciate the homemade bread and bottle of wine they leave for us!
We have come to know the local area and have our favorite places to eat, love the library and other charming aspects of the area. Such a great location for access to the Schoodic Peninsula- a beautiful part of Acadia - and if you want to go to the main part it’s an easy drive.
Now we start counting the days until our next visit….thank you Sally and Bob!!!

Yes, it's a bit removed from the hustle and bustle of MDI, but that's what makes it so special! This house has EVERYTHING. Such gorgeous views, the sound of the waves, the beautiful windows, the perfectly outfitted kitchen. If you want a slice of Maine heaven within easy reach of MDI, this is it!

We’ve stayed in a lot of vacation rentals in a lot of wonderful places over the years, and this has risen to the top as one of our favorites. There’s so much love and generational history in this house and property. It’s a fun, thoughtful home filled with original art, comfortable furniture, books, toys, interesting nooks and crannies, and of course, stunning views of the Schoodic shoreline and direct access to its rocks and tidal pools, which are teeming with curiosities. The kitchen is small but perfectly useful and well stocked. The bathrooms are updated and spotless. The bedrooms have comfy beds and room-darkening shades (which you’ll want for the 5:15am sunrise!…there’s a perfect viewing through the Oceanside windows). Modern conveniences are included like good Wi-Fi and an easy-to-use Roku tv. That is, if you ever stay inside…the house has easy access to many outdoor coastal experiences. We rode bikes into Prospect Harbor, around the Schoodic Peninsula (awesome), checked out the Schoodic Institute (very nice staff), and over to Winter Harbor for shopping and additional exploring. So much to do…we wish we had 5 more days! Both we and our 6-yr-old daughter were completely enchanted by this treasure of a home…every family deserves one of these. We have every intention of returning. ❤️

This stay was perfection from start to finish. The host was incredibly helpful and accommodating. I’ve never stayed in a rental with a better equipped kitchen, which was great for us as we love to cook. The setting is stunning. We had an amazing time kayaking in the area with great seal and dolphin sightings. A vacation to remember!

We really enjoyed our stay at Sally's home! The house itself and property are beautiful and incredibly private. The home is thoughtfully decorated, comfortable and had everything we needed, and more, for our stay. We really enjoyed starting and finishing each day out on the deck or yard with the ocean views. The house is in a great location for exploring the quieter side of Acadia and surrounding areas, without all the crowds. Sally gave us an excellent list of recommendations for places to eat but also for hikes, beaches, shops, ect. This was a very comfortable place to stay with our dog - and the area is extremely dog friendly - including the national park. We would love to come back for another stay!

Words just can't describe this place! From the minute you arrive you realize very quickly you're someplace very special! So peaceful sitting out back with a glass of wine soaking in the views and the environment! Every day we sat out and watched lobster boats, loons, and seals in the cove! You have to use the binocular to watch the seals but you CAN see them! All day every day! One day a bald eagle flew by right in front of us! House was beautiful and clean! Spent days hiking at Acadia at Schoodic, golfing at Grindstone Neck GC 10 minutes away, which I highly recommend, relaxing at private Sand Cove Beach just five minutes away and visiting Acadia and Bar Harbor for hiking and shopping! Thanks Becky and Bob for sharing your "piece of heaven" with our family! We'll be back!

Our family LOVED this home - the unbeatable location, the thoughtful design and decor, and many wonderful amenities. The proximity to the ocean was absolutely incredible. We spent a lot of time just soaking in the amazing views while perched on the huge rocks. Our kids had so much fun exploring the tidal pools in the "backyard." From the house, with its many windows and back deck, we could see and hear the waves crashing upon the rocky coast. The house is very well-equipped and organized, and extremely clean. Its open layout and creative touches made us feel so comfortable and right at home. The surrounding area is really private and peaceful; it's just a few minutes' drive to the Schoodic portion of Acadia National Park and a pleasant drive over to the park on Mount Desert Island. We greatly enjoyed our first trip to Maine and staying at this beautiful property was a major highlight. Many thanks to our welcoming and thoughtful hosts for sharing their family vacation home with us!

Absolutely loved everything about this property. Sally goes out of her way to make guests feel welcomed and we throughly enjoyed her detailed guidebook and recommendations in addition to her homemade Friendship bread! We will definitely be back…thanks so much for a perfect week in Maine :)

We rented Sally’s stunning home for a week at the end of August. The home and property were stunning. Hearing the ocean, smelling the saltwater, and watching the fog roll in while sitting on the porch were highlights. The home and property is filled with work by local artisans and perfectly taken care of. We now have our own piece of artwork from the Littlefield gallery hanging in our living room, based on Sally’s recommendation of local galleries to explore! Sally was thoughtful, helpful, and easy to communicate with. This area of Maine is phenomenal and we would absolutely love to come back to the area and the home to explore even more! We could not have hoped for a better vacation.

We spent a marvelous week at Lighthouse Point. The house is well-appointed and well-situated, so that you never need to leave if you so choose. We read, took long walks with the dog, and made occasional excursions. Highlights included the ferry between Winter Harbor to Bar Harbor (we saw seals, porpoises and bald eagles), exploring Bar Harbor itself, and the spectacular village of Corea, including the walk out along the causeway to Bar Island. We hope to go back soon!

The bottle of wine and cake were a great touch.

I can't say enough about this rental - the house was just perfect. The location was great - right on the water, close to Bar Harbor and even closer to Schoodic (which is much quieter then BH). The house itself had everything you could need (including linens which is so rare and a bonus not to have to pack!). The kids loved exploring the shoreline at the house and sitting out at night watching the stars. The homeowner provided great tips and ideas before we arrived so we were prepared for all our adventures. If we are lucky all our rentals would be this easy and houses as great. Thanks for providing the location for a wonderful family vacation!

We booked this house last year not knowing what COVID would look like and glad we did! The house is exactly as listed, very clean and right on the water! We saw seals 2 days which was awesome and had pretty perfect weather! The only downfall to the area was most restaurants were closed due to covid exposures so we were very limited where to eat. We ended up going to Ellsworth often to eat and had long waits! Otherwise everything was great!

We’ve vacationed in MDI several times over the years, but had never ventured north. This time, we fell in love with the Schoodic Peninsula, Prospect Harbor, and this home. Beautiful, peaceful and private location, right on the water. We viewed seals daily, and the constant sounds of the waves crashing against the rocks was so soothing. We stayed two full weeks but felt like we could have stayed much longer. Charming and tasteful Maine home decor, well-appointed and comfortable, with wonderful little touches throughout. We recommend biking the Schoodic park loop, taking the ferry over to Bar Harbor, and the bakery in Winter Harbor. We will most certainly be back!

My husband and I had the most relaxing time here! The house is so special with so much interesting detail and thoughtful decor. We enjoyed sitting on the deck drinking coffee, walking down to the rocks to see boats go by and just relaxing. We had a great time exploring the local area as well and we can’t wait to come back! Very clean and comfortable and Sally was easy to reach for questions- She checked in with us to make sure everything was going OK. We really enjoyed the bottle of wine and cake that was left for us as well! Highly recommend!

This summer marked our fifth stay at this property. This being an unusual year, it was especially important to us to return to a property that we could trust to be clean and safe. This allowed our family the opportunity to relax and feel normal! We love the solitude of this home nestled on the coast. We enjoy falling asleep to the sounds of the waves against the rocks and waking up to dazzling sunrises. The home is proximate to Schoodic and an easy drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia for a day’s adventure. We will no doubt return again!

Lovely cottage and location, quiet, low-key, fun local hikes. The cottage is warm and welcoming, comfortable in every aspect, with thoughtful details. Well-equipped kitchen. Cozy inside, many books and puzzles, with a range of places to enjoy being outside--deck with grill, hammock, steps to the rocky shoreline. Owner very responsive. One of our favorite places!

We arrived during the covid 19 pandemic, well aware of the need to shelter in place. We brought our groceries with us; ordered online and picked up (contactless) bakery. It is a marvelous place to call base or cozy home for the week. Parks were open to drive and hike, too. Easy to social distance. Lovely library and excellent owners. Thank you so much Sally and family. I would do it again in a second!

My wife and I had such a great week at this wonderful property. The house was so warm and comfortable, we immediately felt right at home. Watching the sunrise while we had our coffee each morning on the rocks was amazing... not to mention the bald eagles, seals and lobster boats. What a treat! Sally could not have been nicer. The fresh flowers, delicious friendship bread and wine was unexpected and appreciated. We're so glad we chose to spend a week at this property. It was an unforgettable vacation!

We traveled with another couple and we were thrilled with the property and location. It is secluded and there are no words describing the view. Excellent to decompress from everyday routine. The ferry rides to Bar Harbor were very enjoyable , a number of restaurants near by, always something to explore, and Sally, the owner is so welcoming. To conclude, perfect getaway, majestic scenery and rustic cozy cottage.
Thanks for sharing your cottage, we hope to return.

This is a cozy waterfront cottage in a quiet neighborhood. Very creatively decorated. Reasonably priced for the area. Very good binder on the property and local recommendations. The home was remodeled and expanded in 2015, except for the kitchen. Home is very near the water with relaxing surf sounds.

The House is in a great location to enjoy all that we love about Maine. Friendly people, the changing views and tides, watching the lobster boats work early AM right in front of the house , the sound of the surf, cool breezes on a hot summer day , dark sky and bright stars at night, and close to many choices to enjoy fresh seafood and farm stands and markets. The house is in great condition, comfortable , private, and well-equipped for every possiible cooking need and so many choices of books, games, and places to sit, recline, read and enjoy the fresh air and views. We loved the inside artistic touches and decor along with all the owner’s helpful tips on local beaches and other places to see and go in the area. A great experience all around.

We had an amazing week! It was great to have such a clean and lovely place to stay with our four-legged child! Relaxation does not come easy for us, but it happened here. The house has everything you need. The location is perfect. It is close to Bar Harbor and Acadia but away from the hustle and bustle. Sally makes sure you have every bit of information you need to make the most of your stay. It was very hard to leave! We will be back! Thanks, Sally!
