We (5 couples) had an amazing time at Casa Cardonal! The people, the property and amenities were incredible! The guys fished for a total of 12 hours and caught some great fish species with Mino as their boat captain! We used the pool, hot tub, shuffleboard and ping pong on a daily basis and enjoyed every minute! We loved Maria and Mino especially! Francesca and Octavio were amazing as well! Thank you for providing this very fun and memorable place to stay!

Third time back and can’t wait to return! Maria and Minot tend to every need!!! The home and casita have everything you will need right down to the sunscreen in case you forget to bring some. The local stores have the daily provisions you might run out of, but be sure to shop at Chapitos in Los Barilles on your way up. La Dina is a very good spot for breakfast and lunch as well as the Hotel. Great Italian/Mexican food at La Hornilla. Fun pizza bar behind the hotel. Relax and have fun!!!

We had a great time here. The rental company are great facilitators and are prompt with communication. The house has a ton of amenities and is well maintained. Mino made sure the hot tub was full and hot every morning. The beach and ocean amazing and we saw whales and mobula rays while we were there.

Birthday Trip
I couldn't have been happier with the house. We rented Casa Cardonal for a family birthday trip. We had Maria make all the dinners and they were all wonderful. She also made birthday cake for two of the meals also delicious. Mino took us out fishing two days and we caught Dorodo, Tuna and Marlin. The only down fall to the house is the distance to town, but the house can easly provide entertainment for everyone

Great property and neighborhood
If you are looking for high end, this is it. Location is great if you don’t want to be in the hustle and bustle of Los Barrilles. If you rent a Side By Side it’s 25 min drive to town. Great fishing from the panga on property. Lots of amenities. Our family loves this part of town - it’s very low key.

Casa PERFECTO!!
This by far was one of the best family vacations we have taken together. The Casa and Casita exceeded our expectations. Mino, Francesca and Maria could not have been more attentive . The pool is spectacular and was used 4-6 hours per day. We'll be back for sure!

Paradise
The only reason I gave a 4 star rating on the accuracy of the description is because it was so much more than described. We wished we could stay through the summer. Our group ranged in age from 4-71. We all had the time of our lives. Franseca and Maria became family to us. Maria’s granddaughter, Paulina, came a few afternoons to play with our 5 kids while Maria made us popcorn and cookies. We used a translate app on our phones so we could visit with each other. Maria and franseca taught us to make tortillas one day and tamales another day. They spoiled the kids every morning with pancakes and anything the kids asked for. We used the paddle boards and snorkeling gear then went fishing with Mino 2 times. We met the couple next door and found we had been to high school with them and had several friends in common. A small world.
We would happily return again.

Moore Trip
We knew the property was beautiful from the pictures, but we had no idea how truly amazing it would be until we pulled up, the doors were all open, and we could look out to paradise! Everything was perfect: the food, the fishing, the warm pool, and relaxing hot tub. Mino, Francesca, and Maria were wonderfully attentive and friendly. We kayaked through the manta rays, drove ATV's through the mountains, paddle boarded, played ping pong, and so much more. We will definitley be back as soon as we can!! Thank you.

Wonderful family getaway
Our family (11 of us ranging in age from 86 to 8 years old) just spent a lovely relaxing week at this beautiful house. The house is just as pictured and was comfortable for all of us. The heated pool and jacuzzi were wonderful and have such a gorgeous view. Although the week was a little windier and chillier than I expected we did have a few days where the sea was calm enough to use the paddle boards. We went out in the boat fishing one day with Mino and caught three huge dorado which Francesca cooked us for dinner. Another day Mino took 7 of us on the boat to Isla Cerralvo and we saw a gray whale, orca, seals and went snorkeling at the beautiful beach on the island which was great. My teen was thankful for the satellite dish at the house so he could watch football games on Sunday. We all loved having the ping pong table and shuffleboard too. We had Francesca cook every night except one when we went to the restaurant up the road at the Las Terrazas hotel.
The house is definitely a remote destination. The little town of Cardonal is tiny- just two convenience stores - and it’s a half an hour into the nearby beach town of Los Barilles , but that’s part of the appeal of this place. You have the beach virtually to yourself and we loved getting up and doing early morning beach walks. We did use the Yukon to go to a nearby beach - Punta Pescadero- where the water is calmer even on windy days as it’s a little more protected. Mike, the owner, was super responsive to all the many questions I had leading up to the trip. My only regret - I wish I’d booked horseback riding before we arrived . We were there a holiday week and by the time we got there and tried to arrange it, it was all booked up.
Overall Great house. I would totally return to this place. Beautiful, quite, comfortable and excellent service and amenities.

Great way to unplug with unreal sunrises & sets. A must!
If you are looking for a quiet place to unplug and unwind, Casa Cardonal will fit the bill. Came for a short two day visit and enjoyed the beauty of the east cape in this quaint town. The people are friendly and the vibe is homey and relaxing. Rent an ATV from Sergio so you can explore the beach and town. Would be great for families and groups especially if you are into fishing. The town is small so it's best to pass by a grocery store to fill you up on drinks and food before you arrive. Definitely recommend the Casa for those looking for a beach escape!

Amazing - As Usual!!
We came back to Casa Cardonal for the second time, but we brought 4 other couples with us. Everyone was amazed at the property, people and food. We had a great time. Mino took us fishing 3 days. We caught El Dorado - enough for 2 meals and a 220 striped Marlin!! Already trying to figure out how to get back there again. We love it. Thanks to all the staff - Maria, Francesca, Octavio and Mino. And thanks to Wolf Properties - great job!

My dad's 75th birthday
Casa Cardonal is a beautiful beach house located in a tiny little town. There was 14 of us who celebrated my dad's 75th birthday. It was perfect. Maria and Francesca cooked delicious meals. Minow was always there to help when we needed anything. Yamelita came every morning and made sure we had clean towels and linen. Many of us paddle boarded and kayaked for the 1st time in the beautiful Sea of Cortez. The kids had a wonderful time in the pool and spent many hours in it. We will definitely be back.

El Cardonal
A very beautiful, spacious and well laid out house on the Sea of Cortez. We had 6 adults and 2 young children. There are steps down to the beach and to the patios, etc. which were hard for our two year old grandson to continually negotiate. It is quite remote and only two places to eat nearby. We were there in March and the sea water was much too cold for swimming, although our grown children enjoyed the paddle boards. The infinity pool looking out on the sea was lovely and that is where we spent a great deal of our time. And it was heated!!!
Drive is at least an hour and half or two from the Cabo airport.
We had a good time at the house.

Perfect in June
The Casa is amazing in so many ways. The water is so accessible. We went snorkeling , kayaking , paddle boarding and fishing in calm water. We caught many fish including a 62 lb rooster fish! That is trophy size. We never even turned on the air conditioning once. It was comfortable day and night. We will be going back!

Slice of Heaven
Very fun getaway, perfect weather for June, warm, calm water for swimming. House gorgeous and comfortable, hardly another sole on the beaches, snorkeling very good, pool lovely, long kayak paddles, didn’t fish but watched the boats head out each morning towards La Paz. Meals and service great. If you treasure getting away from the hordes of revealers in Cabo, this is the place.

Not Enough Stars
This was our second visit to Casa Cardonal. Much like the first, working with the owner, Mike, was a real pleasure. He is attentive and responsive. For practical advice, please see my review from our trip last year.
This year, we went the first week of May, and it was THE PERFECT time to go. Excellent weather without being too hot. Casa Cardonal is a the picture of relaxation. From paddle boarding as the sun rises to deep sea fishing with Mino, this vacation is unlike any other. Even my wife finally agreed that this far exceeds our annual Hawaii pilgrimage.
I'm already missing this place, so after I write this review, I'm going to research dates for our next visit!

A Family Vacation We'll Never Forget
As all the previous reviews have stated, this place is amazing. We went this April with our family of 16 to celebrate our 50th anniversary. We were 8 adults and 8 grandchildren ranging from 4 to 14 years old. Upon leaving home our biggest fear was could we keep everyone entertained for 7 days. Our expectations were far exceeded. Everyday was a new adventure and an opportunity to bond as a family..
The casa is perfectly planned and maintained for any sized group, bedrooms and bathrooms for each family, large living spaces to spread out, huge kitchen, outside shaded patio that was the favorite gathering place, plenty of places to eat both inside and outside and views that will be memories forever. We had the cooks for breakfast and dinner each day and the food was fabulous. It was presented in such a way that everyone could mix and match what they wanted. Francesca was amazing, lots of fun and easy to work with. She was a huge hit with the Mom’s and kids. Our favorite was fresh fish and one day to celebrate, we ordered steak and lobster. Also included was a maid service to make the beds, clean linens, and sweep the floors.
Entertainment? Every morning more than half the group was on the deck watching the sunrise, at night millions of stars, perfect weather, kayaks (at one point dolphins swam between the group), swimming, hot tub, ping pong, shuffleboard, and an almost empty beach. Lots of ocean sightings, one whale, rays jumping, dolphins, fish and excellent snorkeling up the beach.
The biggest hits were that we rented two ATV’s for the week and one morning we rented 4 horses with guides that were brought right to our beach front. All managed through Wolf Properties. We also enjoyed going to lunch twice at Ponte Pescadero about 15 minutes up the dirt road. We piled everyone in the Yukon and on the ATV’s. Wonderful views and a nice break from the casa. Everyone we met locally was very friendly and we never felt cheated or unsafe.
For my wife and I easily the best family adventure ever. We’ll be back.

Family Retreat
Emerging from the hectic Spring Break crowds and noise at Los Cabos airport, what a treat to arrive at undiscovered Casa Cardonal, worlds away from the hustle/bustle of Cabo. Spent four lovely days with family talking, swimming, reading, sunning, and dining, uninterrupted, the beach to ourselves. The only others to share the tranquility, leaping rays, dolphin, and seabirds.

The Casa is amazing. The best moment was a kayak paddle out into the thousands of Mubula Rays. They were leaping into sky and belly flopping all around us. A sight to behold.

Amazing.
It was our best vacation ever! The pictures truly do not do this place justice. We had five couples, there was enough room and privacy for all of us. One of the highlights was renting 4-wheelers and driving in to Las Barriles along the coastline. I would definitely recommend this.

Perfect weather, warm ocean water, and lovely scenery, lots of privacy. We were with two daughters, so lots of room and time to sun, shell the beaches, talk, take walks, swim, kayak and enjoy authentic Mexican food cooked for us. We all needed time away from the crowds to catch up and download, between the hectic holidays.

My four girlfriends and I spent our annual Girl's Getaway at Casa Cardonal and we had a FABULOUS time. We have been all over the Caribbean and this was our favorite place of all! We rented both the main villa and guest house (so much space!) The estate has every possible luxury (including the most gorgeous views of the Sea of Cortez!) that you can imagine. The hot tub in the evening was a highlight, with the stereo system that is awesome throughout the patio/pool area. The taco stand down the road was incredible...the best tacos (and atmosphere) that we have ever had! Mino, the caretaker, was the perfect host (and boat captain) with an infectious smile! The infinity pool leading to the beach was the perfect backdrop for our pictures. We were spoiled beyond belief! Octavio was the best. He (or should I say his wife) catered several of our meals and we are still talking about them. The day tour was a treat as well. We are already talking of a return trip!!

We had one of the best family vacations ever. My son, daughter in law and two grandkids stayed in the Casita, and that worked out perfect. They had their own kitchen and could take care of all their own random eating habits. My wife, son and I stayed in the big house and woke up every morning to the rising Baja sun filtering its way through your palatial gazebo. The hub for everything was definitely your infinity pool. Your design of the "beach" entrance was the best. The kids, ages 4 and 1, could play in the shallow water all day and we didn't have to worry about the 3' to 5' deep ends. It's definitely a pool that caters to both adults and kids. Your caretaker, Mino, was a huge help, and skippered us every day to the fishing grounds on you panga, the Pesca Alert. We caught lots of yellowfin tuna and dorado, all on live bait. Your boat ran great and Mino made sure it was clean, gassed and ready to go each day. On our last day, we took the boat and one of your jet skis for the 20 minute run to the Giggling Marlin Club at Muertos Bay. Saw lots of porpoise, had a great lunch, and witnessed my son upside down in their famous block and tackle rig. We also toured El Cardonal and the surrounding area on your ATV's. Fortunatley and miraculously, we did it without incident and returned in time for an intense shuffleboard match and a jacuzzi as the sun set over the Western horizon. Two last things - Meals: We utilized Octavio's catering service for a full Mexican meal on our opening night. It was very reasonable and quite delicious. I would definitely recommend his services to anyone not wanting to prepare their own meals. We also went to Taco night on Wednesday in the town square. You bring your own beer/cokes and for $23 I fed the entire family on shrimp, fish, chicken, and beef tacos. They were great. We loved everything and can't wait to get back! Thanks for a great week.
