The Eastview Cottage, a waterfront retreat with spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean and New York City skyline. Available year round, our waterfront cottage come fully furnished. Our cozy cottage can accommodate 3 comfortably. The Eastview cottage is no more than ten feet from the water with picturesque views from each patio. Your stay is guaranteed to be a tranquil excursion. The Cottage is less than an hour from New York City by boat, car or public transportation.

The Riverfront Cottages pamper you with a feel of an Island Getaway. Our 60’ dock offers the best striped bass fishing around. Come by boat and we have slips availabe to accomodate you. Just steps away, rent a boat, or take a ride on a charter vessel, party boat, or classic wooden boat excursion. The cottages are located within walking distance to Gateway National Recreation Area at Sandy Hook, a 7-mile long peninsula with over 1,600 acres of pristine beach and a spectacular holly forest where over 300 species of migratory shorebirds can be spotted. Spend the day sunbathing and swimming on the wide beaches or enjoy premier surf fishing. Horseshoe Cove on the bay side of Sandy Hook offers plenty of spots to anchor your boat and ideal conditions for kayaking, parasailing, windsurfing and Jet Skiing. The Eastview Cottages is located under the national landmark, Historic Twin Light Lighthouse, Hartshorne Woods, Henry Hudson Bike Trail and many Zagat rated waterfront restaurants. Looking for a place to enjoy our last weekend before dropping daughter off at school. Loved having walkability to restaurants and we could bike over to Sandy Hook NP. The beach was great. More our vibe than the busier boardwalk beaches of the Jersey Shore. Would definitely recommend this place! The property manager had someone ready to orient us to the place when we arrived and was available immediately when we had a question about the lights. Very responsive!

It was so peaceful and comfy. We had everything we needed and more. We loved overlooking the river. Our host was wonderful. We look forward to returning as long as we can get the water view. Hope it was helpful that we threw your linens in the wash. We left the place very clean. Thank you!

Sunny, clean, and convenient. Lovely spot on the water. We enjoyed the tranquility of sitting on the waterfront and soaking in the sunsets. Surprisingly quiet for being right under bridge. We were able to explore much of Sandyhook during our three night stay. Fourth of July, we managed to avoid car traffic by walking over bridge to nearby quiet beach. Bonus of having a private viewing of the fireworks over the water. Good eateries within walking distance. (Also, recommend short drive to Jus organic cafe.) The one drawback was the sofa bed, which was quite uncomfortable. But host, Gary was responsive, and Peter, the maintenance man was particularly helpful.

Having my family come from NY to visit this area for the second year in a row is the best tradition we are going to keep ! Growing up in this area is the most amazing thing! Highlands is a place everyone should visit its the most wonderful peaceful town I believe on the jersey shore ! Walkable to the most beautiful beaches and restaurants!

The place was exactly as described on the site. The host was able to recommend restaurants (really good ones) and was friendly and welcoming. We were grateful for the beach pass and the setting was beautiful.

We loved how close the beach was and the parking pass provided was a huge plus. There are a couple of restaurants and bars close by which was also nice. The cottage was pretty dusty when we arrived so we spent about an hour fixing that and sweeping. Nothing major but definitely not something I can deal with for 5 days so we just took care of it. The washer and dryer didn’t work but they were kind enough to let us use the maintenance ones next door.

Waterfront views are beautiful. Cottage is spacious and clean. Well appointed. Bed was comfortable. Stayed in other cottages on this property in the past. Owner/Manager is always pleasant and answers questions quickly. Some restaurants are in walking distance. Sandy Hook is less than a 5 minute drive. Checkin and checkout was easy. Would definitely return.

I returned to the area I grew up on Sandy Hook which was across from Highlands. The owners were very nice. I would have liked just one coffee pod for the Keurig to get started the first night. It did need a little more cleaning but overall great! Sheila R

Because of Covid our prior planned vacation was cancelled. We set goals for finding a replacement trip: fishing, water, beach, and close restaurants. Who knew we would find the perfect place to match all the goals just 45 minutes from home. The cottage had everything we needed. We had a wonderful meal at 2nd Jetty Seafood, and a great lunch with awesome view of the river from the deck of Bahrs Landing Seafood Restaurant. We went on a Charter Fishing boat and caught porgies. We caught even more fish right in front of the house on the river. Found the cottage very relaxing with awesome views. We hope to come back next year.

My husband and I and my dad were on our way to MA, and wanted to check out the Sandy Hook bike trail. Wow, what a great location this is, with beautiful sunrise views over the water and super easy access to the island for our bike day. Gary was very helpful when we couldn't figure out the TV channels (duh), and the unit was equipped with all we needed. The sofa bed was not the most comfy for dad, but that is to be expected. It was great to be able to have our corgi mix with us, and she had plenty of room to explore. Thanks.....my husband and I will be back!

My husband and I had a lovely time at this property. The cottage was right on the water and very convenient to everything: beach, restaurants, boat dock, etc. Check-in & check-out was a breeze. The cottage was super cute. Gary and Larry were very responsive and accommodating, especially since we towed our boat over, and they let us tie it up to their dock. I also love that everything was so dog friendly! I agree with what others said about hearing the neighbors upstairs. They sure loved walking around at 4am (yay). In the future, we plan to come back and check out some of their other cottages that they offer.

I spent a month at this great cottage on the water. Peter and Gary were so welcoming, friendly and accommodating. They left me two beach chairs and umbrella to take to the beach. Cottage was comfortable, clean and just perfect. Bed was comfortable and there is even a pull out couch for guests. You can not beat the view. I enjoyed spending time on the dock and watching the boats go by with my little dog Blu. I even purchased a little crab trap and threw it in the water. Be sure to bring a fishing pole. What a life! When I had guests stay over we used the nice grill right outside the back door. Grilled fresh fish and enjoyed the views. Close to a lot of great restaurants also. Will definitely be returning. Looking forward to it.

This property is spectacular! The views are incredible. The bungalow is just adorable, it’s tastefully decorated, and cozy. Comfortable and roomy layout. Large bathroom for changing in and out of swimsuits. The proximity to everything of note in the area is perfection. Gary was wonderful and quickly responsive during check-in and check-out, and throughout our stay. The other guests were lovely, friendly people. Many with pets. Everybody was respectful of each other. Coffee and happy hour on the decks or dock are a must! So happy to have found this little gem. A bit of the shore life without the crowds of a big name place. Really felt like home. Thanks so much for having us. We’ll be back for sure.
