About this house rental

Welcome to discovering 'The Best Caribbean Vacation Destination' for American and Canadian families. Our beachfront estate design is perfect for a family of eight (8) or an extended family of up to twenty six (26). However, in any case, you'll have the entire 5 acre compound just for you and your family, since we do not rent any other room to another family not coming with you. Since the beginning of Covid - 19, we’ve expanded our cleaning processes to include a sanitizing procedure that disinfects surface areas that we all touch in the house. The disinfectant used is highly effective against many communicable diseases, including coronaviruses and immediately safe for human contact. Following the fogging procedure (Swingfog SN 50) our cleaning staff thoroughly clean all rooms & living areas' surfaces including chairs, tables, counters, bar, kitchen, bathrooms and toilets.
This tropical beachfront estate is majestically nestled in the paradisiacal bay of Omoa, between the Caribbean Sea and the awesome ever green Merendon mountains. Wake up in the morning with the sounds of nature all around the villa, tropical birds, howling monkeys and other exotic animals. Then, have a good cup of fresh Honduran coffee, while enjoying the rainforest within this Caribbean beachfront paradise located at the heart of the Cuyamel National Park. During the year 2012, the National Geographic Traveler editors included Roatan, Honduras - 'A divers' dream paradise' in the list of the world's Ten top places to visit. The estate is located just an hour's boat ride from this coral barrier reef; but away from Roatan's over crowded tourists places. Our hidden mainland spot is the ideal spot for discovering Honduras' best kept secrets !

This eco-estate has spectacular views of the wide, truly unspoiled sandy beaches stretching as far as the eyes can see, up to an unexplored mangrove ecosystem; with no houses, no people and no hotels, but very safe. Untouched pristine beaches, whose only inhabitants are coconut palms, exotic plants, fruit trees, shore birds, iguanas, geckos, turtles and crabs surround this secluded property; yet, near city conveniences (e.g. restaurants, bars, grocery store, bank, police station, hospital, pharmacy, church, park, etc, are located within driving distances.

"Thank you, for making our 50th Anniversary celebration with our 3 daughters, 3 sons-in-law, and 8 grandchildren a vacation filled with wonderful memories and really fun", wrote on our guestbook during January 2015, Richard and Carole Phillips from Auburn, California (please see their 50th anniversary 's dinner picture in the photos' section of this listing).

"When I organized this trip for my entire family, 11 of us, to celebrate a number of occasions, including my parents' 40th wedding anniversary, I never imagined that we would have such a perfect, magical experience. From start to finish, you provide a smooth, well-planned out vacation adventure", Derek Dassatti, Amherest, Massachussetts.

At this Caribbean beachfront villa, families from United States and Canada have had unforgettable anniversary's celebrations, birthdays, weddings, Thanksgivings, winters getaways, Spring breaks, Summers vacations and Christmas & New Years' family and friends reunions.

'Our family greatly enjoyed this trip to Honduras. All the people we met were so special to make us feel safe and welcomed. This home is beautiful and comfortable, the staff is amazing and Honduras is beautiful - from its people to its landscape !! ', wrote on our guestbook, Jenny Alewyne Reynolds, Deputy Director for the Webster Parish Office of Homeland Security. Honduras' former president, Manuel Zelaya wrote: 'This is truly paradise, but with all the comforts of home'

Many activities are available on site or nearby, such as swimming, fishing, snorkeling and scuba diving in a world-class protected coral barrier reef: Sapodilla Cayes Marine Reserve (UNESCO World Heritage Site), horseback riding on the beach, historic sites, a thrill zip line and canopy adventure in the rainforest of the Honduran jungle full of fun.

We are a 'Geotourism' destination, which refers to 'Tourism that sustain or enhances the geographic character of a place - its environment, culture, aesthetics, heritage, and the well being of its residents'. This alliance is between the Honduran government, the National Geographic Society, George Washington University and Counterpart International in Washington, D.C. (National Geographic News, June 2013).

Behind our estate are located the stunning Merendon green mountains, home of the 60,000-acre, Cusuco National Park; which has a tropical rainforest and a highland cloud forest, both featuring a diversity of tropical plants and over 250 exotic wildlife species (Oxford University, Operation Wallacea press news, September 07, 2006 and National Geographic Magazine). An article published on October, 2010 by the Irish Times describes the 'Hondurodendron' as a new genus of tree just discovered here by a team of researchers from Southern Illinois University, The Natural History Museum in London, Trinity College in Dublin and the world-renowned Missouri Botanical Garden; who described it as 'a once in a lifetime experience'. On October 15th, 2016, Science News, published the article: "Scientists Uncover New Coffee Tree Species in Honduras". This, new plant was also discovered on the mountains behind our villa. Who knows ? perhaps, you will be the next one to discover something unique in this tropical paradise.

This unknown, unexplored region is perhaps one of the most beautiful and fascinating treasures in the world still awaiting to be discovered !

During the first week of October 2015, the National Geographic channel aired the documentary: "The legend of the Monkey God". Explorer Steve Elkins has been searching during 22 years for the legendary White City in Mosquitia, the largest untouched rainforest in Central America — 34,000 square miles of tangled jungle, jaguars and swarming insects. Finally, during 2015, Elkins and a team of archaeologists made the astonishing discovery of the lost city in Honduras. Book our villa and go on adventures like Indiana Jones !

Our fully-equipped & furnished estate has nine bedrooms, living & dining room, gourmet kitchen, ten bathrooms, large hardwood deck with a swimming pool in the middle, a private master bedroom's terrace with breathtaking views of the mountains and the Caribbean Sea.

This villa has a romantic palm-thatched palapa by the beach with a table for eight people and three hammocks, ideal for reading a book, take a nap or just relax while enjoying the Caribbean Sea fragant breezes.

Walk to your private beach and gazebo over beautiful natural stone walkways through a lushly landscaped tropical garden surrounded by coconut palm trees, fruit trees, exotic plants and the smell of colorful aromatic flowers.

Our friendly staff are the most gracious hosts you can ask for ! You will be pampered beyond your wildest dreams. First of all, you'll have the services of an excellent gourmet chef, who will cook for you three (3) delicious meals each day, thereby you'll feel like you are eating at a 5-star restaurant every day; but only at a fraction of its price ! Also, you´ll have the services of a maid, who will clean up the house, rooms, make up the beds and do the laundry. Additionally, you'll have the services of the villa´s groundskeeper and handy man. Also, you´ll have the services of a professional driver & guide, who will take you to the most fascinating places in Honduras.

'It was great to have a lovely spot to accomodate the whole family for our Christmas vacation together/family reunion, seventeen in all, ages nearly three to seventy three. The kids took part in, and loved doing everything the growns-ups did; snorkeling, the zip line, boat trip to the lagoon, a visit to the seventeenth hundred fort and the wonderful overnight trip to Copan Ruins'; wrote in our guestbook, Linda Pauling Kamb, daughter of Dr. Linus Carl Pauling, the only person ever to receive two unshared Nobel Prizes-one for Chemistry (1954) and for Peace (1962) and ranked by the British Journal New Scientist, as one of the top twenty (20) scientists of all time.

Our rental fee includes the services of a chef, driver, maid and a handy man. Rental fee valid for up to 12 people. Additional guests, $ 25/night per person. Also, guests pay their energy consumption during their stay, measured by taking a picture of the digital electrical meter upon arrival and when leaving the villa, these readings are sent to the guest's email on both, the first and last day of their stay.

"Because Americans feel safer, enjoy white sand beaches, sunny days and cheaper living, they are increasingly visiting Honduras for a vacation" (The Washington Post - August 2012).

Great place
Great place
We stayed for 2 weeks at the property. We felt safe the entire time. The staff is 5 stars. Dealing with the owner, the driver, the property manager and cooking and cleaning staff just amazing. They're is a bit of a language barrier so have your google translate i'f you don't know Spanish. The property is a bit dated and needs a few renos but just a beautiful spot. Overall for the price it is the best bang for the buck I have ever had travelling. Bring your appetite and thirst for adventure and you won't be disappointed.

Wonderful place for a large group wanting to relax iand have family time on the beach
If you're looking for a property on the beach in a remote setting of Honduras for a large group...this could be your place. First of all the hospitality by Evenor (the owner), Erica (the chef) and Wilson (the concierge) was second to none. They all are warm and welcoming people and quickly become friends. As for the home and property it's located on a nice secluded beach with several bungalows and as well as 3 bedrooms in the main house. It has a very nice pool, use of horses, relax in hammocks with views of the ocean, wonderful food prepared by Chef Erika. Just a great place for a large family to spend time together, relax and enjoy. Highly recommend and hope to return for a future family reunion.

A Memerable Christmas in Honduras
A Memerable Christmas in Honduras
This estate vacation was everything it was promised to be, beautiful tropical location, lovely buildings, well kept grounds, private entry to the beach, and absolutely fantastic meals. But what will always stand out in my mind was the staff. They were always available to help make things go smoothly - knowledgable, patient, and eager to make our stay a memerable experience. One of our group couldn't find his passport when we were packing up to head home which could have been a unpleasant ending to an enjoyable family vacation. But thanks to Evenor and his team, it all worked out alright. I was impressed and thankful for the way they all went over and above the call of duty searching and not giving up until the passport was found. I would highly recommend this property and hope that I may have the opportunity to go back again some day.

Ebenor, the owner, was so easy to work with. He answered all of our questions and arranged for several excursions for us during our stay. The staff was amazing! Wilson (caretaker) worked very hard to ensure we were taken care of. Everything from getting us fresh coconuts to horseback riding on the beach and coming to the spa with us.Our driver Roosevelth was always happy and smiling and did a great job getting us wherever we needed to go. He and Alan also had a great trip to the spa with us:)Alan (chef) and Erika (helper) prepared some amazing dishes and Alan even shared his recipes with us. We did not expect to get three gourmet meals a day, but this is exactly what we got. I think we all gained a few pounds!Marlan did a fabulous job keeping up with our laundry and keeping the house clean and tidy. We certainly did not expect that kind of service when we booked the property. The property itself was perfect for us. We swam in the pool, played on the beach, and visited and played games inside at the bar. We did have one day when the air conditioning stopped working but Wilson worked all day to get it back up and running. Every effort was made to ensure we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay.It was out first time to Honduras so we were not sure what to expect. I can safely say we had an amazing trip and would not hesitate to go back and enjoy this property again. Lynnette Sukut

Amazing time with a great staff!
Amazing time with a great staff!
This was a trip of 9 friends from Montana and Ilinois. Some of us were very experienced travels and others not so much. Ebenor and his staff were great! They were there to meet us at the airport, drive us where ever we wanted to go, take us on adventures, and answer any questions. We hiked in the jungle, went fishing- Honduran style, spent a couple days in Copan- a must, laid around the pool, spent a day in Belize on our own private island snorkeling, and enjoyed a night on the beach with some Garifuna dancers. Eric our driver and interpreter was great- he was so much fun, but made sure to take care of us. Alan, the chef, was incredible! Do not think about doing your own cooking, let him take care of you. The trip was everything I had hoped for. Thank you! Side note- I had read many travel warnings- so were kind of nervous about going. We had absolutely no issues. Everyone we had any dealings with were very friendly. We saw nothing that made us worry. I would definitely go back.

Just what we were hoping for!
Just what we were hoping for!
Our large family was looking for somewhere warm, on the beach, that could fit 24 people and provide an opportunity nearby where we could give humanitarian service. We were not looking for a hotel experience where everything was perfect, we wanted an opportunity to be a part of the culture of where we were visiting and this estate was just what we were hoping for! The staff was exceptional! One of our favorite parts of our stay was having a chef! Alan, the chef, and Victoria were amazing - 3 wonderful meals a day and so attentive to the likes and dislikes of our crew. They even helped hold the babies during meals..so amazing and sweet. :) We had a couple nice sunny days, but it rained quite a bit, which could have really put a damper on the trip, but having meals to look forward too and enjoy as a family, made it great! Wilson, the property caretaker was awesome, always available to help with whatever was needed! There is a main house on the property that has 3 bedrooms and a decent size living room. where we often gathered. The other sleeping accommodations were cottages on the property easily accessed from the house. This I didn't realize when I booked, but it ended up being nice for the younger couples and their babies to have their own space when needed. The property was fenced and gated and we felt safe the whole time. The final road getting there is rough, but our drivers were amazing and made every effort to make us comfortable. If you can request Luis and "Roosevelt" as your drivers, I would highly recommend it! The house keepers also did a fantastic job keeping the house clean and doing laundry. It's important to remember that this is Honduras and by Honduran standards where you are staying is fantastic, things are not perfect, but they are great and everyone on staff is making every effort to make your stay comfortable! The beach was definitely a highlight. It is just right out the back gate. We played on the beach and in the waves whenever we had the chance! We also built an enormous sand castle that I don't think anyone will ever top! :) Wilson brought horses out on the beach and those who did that had a great time as well. Lastly Evenor, the owner, was a pleasure to work with from the beginning. Always available to answer any question and help with any detail. He even went the extra mile and helped us meet Mary at Heart 2 Heart village where we were able to spend some time giving Optometric service. A trip of a lifetime! Thank you
