Nicaragua is safe and well!
We are the owners of Casa Bonita and just returned from a month long trip to Granada. The recent political unrest has not diminished the kindness and fortitude of the beautiful Nicaraguan people. Tourism is down significantly but the main street of Calle Calzada is bustling with people on the weekends and tour compaies are still taking people to the many wonderful attractions. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to call or email me.

2nd time back still just as great!
This was my second time staying at casa b. And again it has exceeded my expectations. All amenities and extra add ons such as a new ensuite washroom with shower and upgraded kitchen we're a great feature to have although we never got a chance to use the indoor shower the outdoor shower was just as nice. All restaurants and activities are a short distance away(5mins) from the house. And the brand new gym is a mere 10 min walk away! The pool was again the best feature of the house and always did a great job cooling us off in the hot Nicaraguan sun. Regardless of the complications with the government. We always felt very safe and welcomed! 5/5!

great house in the heart of the city
This is a lovely traditional house minutes from the center of town. close to the main market , shops and restaurants.Facilities are great ( yes ac in both bed rooms) with the added bonus of the dipping pool in the back court yard.
the sounds of the city surround you but they also did not disturb our sleep at all.
A five minute walk finds you at the lake front and a full day of exploration.
Highly recommended

Beautiful home and perfect location
This is a wonderful home, the pictures don't capture all of it. We stayed here 2 nights and would highly recommend it. The pool was perfect for our family and the rooms arranged in a way that everyone was comfortable. All walking distance from the center of town and the chocolate factory (the chocolate making lessons are a must esp if you have kids). The manager was really helpful and, even when we locked ourselves out one day, figured it out without making us feel bad or pay for it. We had our own vehicle and parked it in the home of a neighbor and he was really cooperative with our request to leave at 5 am to get on the ferry!

Casa Bonita
We stayed at casa bonita for the month of February 2017. The property is exactly as the pictures on line show. It is well equiped with ample dishes and glasses. Bedrooms have comfortable beds with good air conditioning. We did not have a car and did not feel the need for one. There are lots of economical taxis and tour companies. Granada is an old city with a developing tourist area that is a few short blocks away. The local market, a short walk away is an experiece not to miss. We felt very safe on all our walks, and late night returns to the house located at the start of the less desirable part of town. A great place to experience 3rd world living conditions. The dip pool is fantastic. The house is very secure.

Vacation
My husband and I came to Nicaragua for a wedding. Casa Bonita was perfect for the two of us. The casa is clean and the floor plan is well laid out. Easy walking distance to restaurant row and very easy getting a taxi if needed. Douglas, who maintains the casa was very helpful. Transportation to and from the airport was arranged by the casa owner. Ismael picked us up and was wonderful throughout are stay.

Backyard Oasis!!
My husband and I stayed at Casa Bonita for one week in March 2016, as part of our honeymoon. It was incredible! The house is located just a block or two from the main strip, so walking distance to shopping and a large variety of restraunts. Very convenient whether you want to cook on your own and need groceries or if you are looking to try the local cuisine.
The bedrooms were very comfortable each with their own ac unit (which came in handy during the heat wave). The housekeeper came three time while we were there, and did an excellent job keeping the house clean!
We loved the open concept living room and Kitchen. The house was well equipped with everything we could possibly need, from utensils and spices, to fresh linens and even a movie collection!
Our favourite part was the plunge pool in the courtyard of the house. Talk about a private oasis! We spent the majority of our time lounging in the pool, or reading in the hammock. It was our own little paradise!
Linda was very accommodating while booking. She was knowledgable about the area and was quick to answer any questions or concerns we had. We would definitely love to go back to Casa Bonita and have already recommended it to a number of our friends.
If you are thinking about Grenada for your next vacation, check out Casa Bonita, You will not be disappointed!!

My wife and i stayed a week at casa bonita in july 2016 was so happy we extended for another 6 days.
The rooms were spacious and a.c. worked great. The pool was a blessing in the july heat and we were impressed by the location and liveabililty of the house. Thanks to Doug for being there when we needed him and to Linda for allowing us the pleasure of visiting. We will be back.

2nd time at Casa Bonita!
I've spent 8 of the last 16 months living off and on in Granada in several different homes, but Casa Bonita has been my favorite (the only reason I've moved around a good bit is that CB has not always been available)! The house is impeccably cleaned and maintained by Yarelis and Doug, and very well-stocked with everything you may need for your stay - including lots of towels, a relative rarity in Granada! Love the location - super convenient to the tourist sights, but also everything else in town. Highly recommend!

Nothing sweeta than Casa Bonita!
Our second visit to Linda's lovely Casa. It's well appointed, conveniently located and a great value.
Everything we needed to enjoy our visit to Granada was at our fingertips. The recommended taxista/tour guide Ismeal is a gem and made our visit all the more pleasant, he's super nice and so very helpful.
Thanks Linda, we look forward to returning for another pleasant stay in Casa Bonita!

Clean, well appointed, good cool pool, conveniently located
Stayed there most of January 2016
Pros
- Owner very responsive and provided helpful transportation information
- House is clean, nice layout, all the essentials needed for stay were included, has a nice "cool" pool for relaxing, conveniently located to Calle Calzada(2 blocks) and other attractions in Granada(most were walkable and taxis are cheap for those that weren't), plenty of hot water although you really don't need it
- All the support folks there did a great job and were very responsive to our requests...Doug Hape (Property mgr.), Yarelis Gutierrez (Housekeeper), Ismael Bendana (Tour and Transportation)
- Very enjoyable stay
- I would recommend Casa Bonita
Cons
- Occasionally neighbors got a little loud, but quieted immediately after a little subtle hint(think because we were away so much they didn't know we were there at times)
- Location on VRBO map needs updating....house is actually near the corner of Calle El Martirio and Calle Cuiscomo

Love it!!!!
I visited Nicaragua from January 28 to February 5th 2016. We rented Casa Bonita in the begining because it was affordable and the reviews were excellent. The house is more that a beautiful home, it is equip with everything someone needs to feel at home-- towels, paper towel, cooking pans, cups, microwaves, silverware, etc. The house is located close--walking distance to Calle La Calzada and El Mercado (approximately two to three blocks) El Mercado for me was the main attraction--If you want to experience how the local live and interact with each other. The neighborhood is relatively safe-we walk back home late most nights and we felt safe all the time. If you want to eat Nicaraguan bread there is a couple that sells bread door to door every day and the bread is delicious. There is a lot of people who sell goodies door to door if you are interested in eating what the "Granandinos" eat. I will return to Nicaragua in 2018 so I am looking forward to stay in Casa Bonita again if it is available
Love it!!!!!!!

Excellent place to stay to see Granada
We were able to rent fairly last minute. Owner was very responsive. Place was super nice like the pictures. Great courtyard with small pool. Everything you need in a kitchen. 3 blocks from the walking street. Air conditioning in bedrooms that worked great. We had little kids and felt safe and comfortable. There is a lock on courtyard door so we didn't have to worry about toddler going out there. We would have stayed longer if we could!
