I booked a deluxe double room and it was perfect, like a hotel room! AC was great and pool area was nice with hammocks. Very good kitchen. Location was good as well. Staff was also nice!
I was happy with everything! Maybe the room was a little bit pricey but worth it especially after first staying in other hostal without AC.

I had an incredible stay at this hostel! The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, always ready to help with any queries or recommendations for local attractions. The hostel was clean, comfortable, and had a great atmosphere, making it easy to meet fellow travelers, many of the city's main sights within walking distance. I would highly recommend this hostel to anyone visiting the area and will definitely be returning on my next trip.
PD. I was in a private room.
I don't have any complaint about it.

Can’t fault anything with this property. We loved the social side that the hostel promote. Each day there was activities that you could take part in such as walking/food tours, pub crawls and movie nights etc. The staff were very friendly and offered us a free drink each day we were there.
The breakfast was delicious and the options varied from day to day.
Rooms and shared bathroom were faultless too

Very simply, I stayed here in January of 2020, and I could not wait to come back. When I went to booking.com to make the reservation, a multitude of other places came up in the search but I did not give them much more than a glance. It is one block south of Central Park; which means very easy access to everything but without all of the accompanying noise that you have if you are staying adjacent to the park.
The staff are all extremely personable, and do to the fact that this is not one of the enormous raucous hostels, the guests are also very personable. If I am fortunate enough to return to Granada, I will stay at Hostal Azul.
The only thing that I did not give the highest rating was the comfort of the beds. Don't get me wrong, I was completely comfortable, but I did not want to represent these as the best possible beds on earth because I realize some people are much more finicky than I.
It was disappointing that the staff had been forced to move on during the lockdown, but the new staff were not at all disappointing; they were excellent.

one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in on my trip so far! the staff are lovely and there are activities everyday. the free breakfast was delicious, it changed every morning and you had the choice of two options. the communal kitchen is really good and there’s a big communal area surrounding the courtyard with hammocks.
no complaints apart from the walking tour wasn’t great. I recommend the free walking tour from Selina Hotel (9.30am every day) instead.

Nice clean facilities
a bit quiet hostel, but fairly easy to socialize When there was other guests
1.5
The breakfast was nice and good common area
Horrible dorms. Nowhere to put the stuff, so the whole floor is covered by everyone’s things. No shelves for the upper bunk, so one has to sleep with belongings in the bed. Since everyone keeps their stuff on the floor they cannot clean the floors properly. Mattress is just an old foam mattress. It’s a cheap hostel but there’s a lot better places out there with a few $ extra only

The location is good
The room was to hot and the power electricity run out one night was really bad night sleeping.

Very nice staff. They organize activities and fun nights. I recommend staying there when traveling alone. Plus the location is great.
Not very clean, doorms with 14 beds.

Chilled hostel with lots of hammocks & only a block from the main square and market. Daily social activities make it easy to meet people & no pressure to participate if you don’t want to (food tour, walking tour, salsa, Masaya etc)- all create a really nice atmosphere. Everyone we met there was so lovely. Stayed in a private room which was comfortable & great value. Breakfast included & free pasta family meal was great on Monday & Wednesdays. Thank you Denise, Maria, Justin, Steve & all your wonderful team! We will be back!

We stayed in a double room. Nice room, but opens up to the common area so unless you want to be complete shut in everyone can see in. this did not faze us, but just good to know.
lovely staff! Very helpful with everything and great location of the hostel!
Breakfast (which is included) could be improved a little in quality.
4.0
Chill hostel with comfy double rooms but shared bed rooms. Nice variety of activities offered and lots of information upon request. Highlight was the patio in the middle with hammocks to chill. In addition, free bicycle rental to discover the city.
Everything is open so be advised that I can get noise, at least until 11pm.

Hostal Azul is the most friendly and welcoming hostel I’ve ever been to! The staff is exceptionally kind, helpful and generous. The hostel has many free offerings like free breakfast, free pasta nights, free bike rental for two hours, free walking tours, one free gym pass, and many more social activities that bring together the Hostal Azul community. As a young traveler, or even a young and small family, this is the best place to stay in Granada! What an oasis! Thank you for everything!

Nice small hostel with super friendly stuff! Really liked the kitchen and garden area. Close to everything.
Just a minor note: Not sure why remove the mosquito net from the bed and then let people reattach it. Just leave it there ;)
4.5
Friendly and helful staff, free breakfast, central location, free nightly activities
My room has not been renovated. Represented to be the only one with its own bathroom. No hot water. Stayed 6 days here, got used to the cold shower after the first day.

The localisation is great

A very sociable place yet not a party hostel. Lots of space to hang out in the huge courtyard. The breakfast was restaurant-grade, not something you'd expect from a hostel. Amazingly helpful staff.
Our room would have been easier to cool down in the evening if it had had a window.

Good location right in the centre of Granada. Everything is in walking distance. Nice, clean rooms with comfortable bed. Tours can be arranged at the reception. The staff is really helpful and good to talk to.
It can get a bit noisy in the morning when they start preparing the breakfast. Same at night.

This was a really lovely hostel, the hammocks and social area were beautiful and really comfortable. The staff were very helpful and organised lots of day trips and shuttles for us and the evening activities organised by Mar we’re lovely as were her recommendations for dinner- she always went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. The breakfast served at the hostel was always amazing and super filling. The door rooms were also very nice with private bathrooms and high ceilings, very big dorm rooms so didn’t feel crowded at all.

Chilled atmosphere, such lovely friendly staff, spotless and a really nice aesthetic! we loved staying here. It was like a home away from home.

This hostel is perfect for anybody who wants to relax, but still great to socialize and have some evening activities.
The dorms are spacious and every bed is equipped with a fan. There is a beautiful garden and many hammocks and seating area. The kitchen equipment was the best I've had so far - spices & oil for free! Matitas food was amazing (breakfast and free pasta). The owner and volunteers were always nice and helped me out wherever they could. I planned on staying there for one night and ended up spending a week at the hostel :)
Thank you so much for everything!

Really cozy and simultaneously spacious hostel.
Owners can create atmosphere like in real house.
Private room was so big, clean and comfortable too.
Unfortunaltely we stayed only one night.
Nice breakfast: not only pancakes. 😀
Everything great.

Owner is a cool guy, very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Common area was nice and they have great activities for everyone at the hostel to meet and socialize. The kitchen is available to guest and the breakfast provided was pretty good, everyday there was a different option to choose from
Internet in the dorm wasnt the best and the cleaning lady comes by SUPER EARLY to sweep and mop the dorms. Kinda annoying
5.0
From being given the option between a sweet vs savory option for breakfast to the daily free evening local drink, everything was perfect.
There is regular cleaning throughout the day and definitely the best kitchen I have experienced in a hostel offering from various spices to even an oven!
The location is also very central making it easy to get to the local market and the supermarket as well as to the bars.
The people working there are always open to help with anything.
Make sure you join the free street food tour offered by the hostel, so yummy and fun!
Nada!

Location, atmosphere, breakfast, cleanliness, organised trips.
Mare, the lady who works in the hostel, is really nice and very kind, ready to help you in every situation and to create a good atmosphere in the hostel.
Very appreciated the tour of the city and the tuor to try the typical Nicaraguan dishes

Nice common area, delicious breakfast with 2 options to choose from, friendly and helpful staff. Every bed has its own fan. The hostel offers different activities each day and you can book tours and trips.
It was quite hot in the room and you can hear the noises from the street.

This was a great hostel. The ambiance was perfect. They arranged for anything you needed and the location was great. There was alot of space in the dorm room which is helpful. There were additional bathrooms available if. another was in use. There was an outstanding breakfast as well. The oatmeal w/cinamon and bananas was super! The best thing at the hostel was the manager, Mar. She would hear of a need that you may have and research the answers for you-even on her time off at night and write out helpful notes for you to follow!!!! She did this twice for me! Also, I happened to have broken my hand and she told me step by step what to do to get it all sorted - even writing Spanish instructions for the X-ray people for me! Thanks Mar and Azul for everything!
