My kids loved the lake and the paddle boat, shallow beach swimming, great location, short drive to Traverse City, but very much away from the bustle of the city. Great Lake cabin getaway!

But the bedding was wonderful! very comfortable and clean. loved having a beach to ourselves. its an old comfortable cabin but had everything that you need! trees kept it cool in the heat . great space for us all. Frig. was new and good size. felt away from town but just minutes from Travesere city.

Cozy cottage with some minor fixes
Overall it was great. Just a couple of things could have made it fantastic. There was a major amount of cobwebs and dead bugs under our bed. There were a lot of towels, but some pretty raggedy washcloths. We kept tripping over a rug in the living room that needs some repair. I finally sewed one end with some fishing line, but it still needs repair. We had to do a major sweep of the deck due to a thick covering of pine needles. It looked like they had been there for a month. Other than those things we had a great time. It was cozy, great location to restaurants and downtown Traverse City. We would come again!

Beautiful colors
We had a great stay. The lake was beautiful and had tons of color in October. The neighborhood was also very quiet and serene in the fall. We will be back!

Great getaway
The location is very peaceful and relaxing. We had everything we needed for a stress free and relaxing stay. My biggest surprise was that the beds were very comfortable which made having to leave and go back home that more difficult.

Perfect fishing and swimming
Second year staying at this cottage. Kids enjoyed a lot of fishing and swimming on this quiet lake. Beach area at the property could use a little attention for easier access to the water. Stairs down to water also need some attention, many stubbed toes. Number of beds and rooms were perfect for our family. We love being on this quiet lake, but also love being so close to T.C. and the wine trails. Will definitely be coming back again!

Wonderful Getaway
This was a great place to get away, far enough from town that it felt isolated but close enough we could go shopping or eat out when we wanted. The owner was very responsive and check-in was easy. We had a great trip!

Great Getaway, really good fishing!
This place was great! Had everything you might need. Super clean. We were there the week before Memorial Day so it was really quite in the neighborhood. Great water access for the dogs to swim. Fishing was fantastic right off of the dock or in the little fishing boat. Location was ideal. Off the beaten path but just minutes away from grocery or bait stores. Traverse City is an east 15 minute drive away. So many cool things to explore in the area! Susan is an amazing host! Great communication and there to help if needed.

Lake stay oct 2020
Everything was great. It’s like going to your grandpas favorite place on earth and being able to sit in his favorite chair, cause he’s not there (lol). We loved our stay. A little chilly for fishing but no lack of things to do in this beautiful area. I’m pretty sure we accidentally hit the best weekend of the year for tree leaf color. Cabin was exactly as described and thinking about returning in 2021

Perfect fishing and swimming
We had an amazing time at this cottage! Perfect lake for my 3 children (4,7,8) to go fishing and swimming! Loved the many boat options the cottage had to offer. My youngest also enjoyed all the sand toys and sandy lake bottom around the dock.

Great For Fishing and Swimming
Wonderful fishing trip with 2 sons and 3 grandsons at Susan's cabin for 5 days. Susan was very helpful and friendly. Lake is very clear and the area is very quiet. Bass fishing was great! Had so much fun on Lake George we never did go across the street to Spider Lake or Artibus Lake. Everyone enjoyed our time fishing and swimming on the lake.

Wonderful "up North" rental
We thoroughly enjoyed our week at "Just Fishing." It started with Susan being very helpful and communicative. Check-in was a breeze. The property is wonderful, steps from peaceful, beautiful Lake George. Close proximity to Traverse City is very handy. A paddle boat, row boat and some inflatables provide water fun. It was a perfect vacation spot for a family with teenagers.

The Perfect Cabin on Lake George
We stayed at Susan’s cabin for a week in June and it was the perfect setting for three adults and three energetic children 8 years and younger. Lake George was a great setting for a safe and peaceful vacation—no high speed boats on this lake! Great for fishing! The cabin was clean and well-equipped with everything you need to enjoy lake life including two paddle boats, a row boat, and life jackets of all sizes. The beds were really comfortable and everyone had their own spot. We hope to come back next year! Thank you, Susan, for sharing your home with us.

A Delightful and Peaceful Getaway
This property is above a peaceful lake (no wake and, I think, no motors) looking towards the west. My wife, two kids and their children stayed here for a week and had a great time. Checking in was made easy by the house's owner, Susan. Before our rental she quickly responded to our questions and went out of her way to make the rental easy. I had confidence that if I needed to contact her she would respond quickly.
The small cabin itself was found to be clean and VERY well-equipped with linens, towels (lots & lots), toilet paper/paper towels (lots & lots) and kitchen equipment including plates, bowels, drinking/wine glasses and mugs. The cupboards also have a lot of supplies in them like coffee (if you forgot to bring your own) and many other necessaries. The beds were comfortable and the furniture mostly old but utilitarian. There is a big round table for a family to eat at and play games (we found several we had never played in the game cabinet.) My grandsons loved the miniature pool table. TV and WiFi are excellent. My one & one-half year old granddaughter loved playing out on the deck (which has a nice railing.)
Outside the deck is one of the strongest features, going the length of the side of the house facing the lake. Having coffee out there - looking out over the quiet lake in the morning (or at sunset) was, I think, a foretaste of heaven. There are many chairs and tables on the deck. The fire pit is great, with wood supplied for your first fire(s). The steps down to the beach are not steep. The sand at the beach is fine and fun for children to play in. The dock and boats are as described and were used a lot by my family. My son-in-law and grandchildren caught bass and bluegill big enough to eat (but they released them for someone else to catch again).
The driveway to the cabin looks steep but easily driven. Not having AC may seem a problem but there was always a breeze when we stayed there and almost all the windows had screens. We were very comfortable. (There is a stove but I cannot comment as we did not need any heat.) Otherwise the only thing we wished for was a dishwasher but we had enough people that we got it done. Paper plates were very useful.
Of course we loved driving in to Traverse City (10-15 mins depending on where you are going) and there are so MANY things to do in this area. All in all a lovely, quaint cottage for quiet/family time. We will come back again when the opportunity presents itself.

Great Cabin in a Beautiful Location
Just stayed here this weekend for a girls trip and we absolutely loved it and would love to come back. Plenty of space for sleeping, games, and enjoying the beautiful lake! The cabin was stocked with towels, kitchen gadgets and utensils. Above all, Susan was very accommodating and made the check-in and check-out process seamless easy. Highly recommend for anyone looking to relax and enjoy the scenery of northern Michigan.

Memorial Day Weekend
My wife three children and two dogs spent a very pleasant weekend at this cottage for a memorial day mini weekend. The cottage was perfect for our needs. There is plenty of room for everyone and the sleeping accommodations were very comfortable. We had access to the rowboat and paddleboat And my son even caught three fish which we later cooked that evening. Delicious! The cottage had an easy, rustic feel to it while having all of the amenities which kept us very comfortable, including cable and Wi-Fi. Susan was a gracious host and we would love to come back here again.

It was just what we needed. A quiet place to relax before the start of another school year.
This was our first family trip and the house was perfect. Our daughter loved the beach, dock and small wading area. We enjoyed the quiet lake and found ourselves content with staying close to the house for the entire trip!

quaint get-away oasis on the lake!
Susan's family lake property is lovely and relaxing! Susan was a pleasure to corespondent with and very generous with a late-afternoon check-out. She also offered a great local pizza recommendation (Peogees). The home is very clean and offered all of the basic ammenities (coffee maker, linens, towels, etc). We loved the morning view from the deck and enjoyed paddling and fishing on the lake every day. The other properties are very close to one another, so we did have to be mindful of music/noise, but it was a small price to pay for a beautiful location. I would definitely recommend this rental to couples and small families for a great lake weekend!
