About this apartment rental
Welcome to our 'Mountain Home' in one of Colorado's finest all season resorts and discover the magic at Durango Mountain Resort.
Our place has a private entrance, its own exterior entrance, helping guests retain separation and social distancing practices.
Summer time is a wonderful time to visit Durango and the resort. Make the best lifetime memories here with great activities for all ages.
Spring, Summer, and Fall: This is the time to explore deserted ghost towns, Mesa Verde Indian Ruins, Durango/Silverton Railroad, enjoy Colorado's cascading waterfalls, wildflowers, and breathtaking views of the San Juan Mountains. If golf is your game, it can only improve with the altitude (balls fly 14% farther) at the three championship courses in the area. The resort offers family ropes course, water runners, zipline, alpine slide, mountain bike trails and uplift, bungee trampoline, mechanical bull, climbing wall, miniature golf, disc golf and the all new Inferno Mountain Coaster.
Remodel just finished. All new kitchen cabinets, stainless steel applicances, granite counter tops, bath vanities, jetted tub, new mattessses, and professional decorated.
Winter Season: Our mountain home is not just a true 'Ski-In and Ski-Out' but we are directly on the ski slope (Yellow Brick Road - Beginer Slope). Ours is one of only 12 Edelwiss condos directly on the ski slope. No hauling your equipment across the parking lots or in the elevators. The fluffy powder (260 foot annual average) is your invitation to the best skiing, snowboarding, or snowshoeing. Then, at the end of the day, ski to your covered patio, step out of your gear, and step into your vacation hide-away.
The non-skier will have fun and excitement with snowmobile tours, dog sled rides, ice skating, sledding, riding the snow coaster (tubing), watch the downhill skiers and snowboards come down right outside your windows, and the incredible stargazing night tours. Of course, there is always great shopping, fine dining, art galleries, and the Durango/Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad.
Gather around our cozy fireplace while enjoying the beautiful views and begin making memories with your family and friends. Sit and relax in our condo while viewing many mountain activities, skiers going by outside and the high-speed 6 passenger chair lift going up the mountain.
Our condo is perfect for your family vacation, reunion, or just fun with your group of friends. This spacious, four bedroom, three bath, luxury condo sleeps ten people comfortably, and has covered parking at your front door. Decorator furnished in natural Rocky Mountain style with art from local artists, and a warm relaxing wood burning fireplace (wood provided). Everyone is charmed by this tastefully decorated condo with a full-size kitchen, a romantic master suite, and all the comforts of home.
Whether you want to be in the heart of the action on the mountain, use our home for your base of operation to explore the Durango area, or if you just want to escape to the peace and quiet. Our mountain home is just the right place for your group.
Once you stay here you'll want to return year after year.

This was our first summer in Purg and I am sure it won't be our last. We came during Spring Break to ski and you cannot beat the location at all. This is so perfect for anyone that has kids and knows what it's like carrying skis and ski boots anywhere. This time, we could walk to the base, walk back if we wanted or just wander a bit. Our hosts provided lots of dining options and guided on where to go for zip lining and river rafting. They and the trip were great. Thank you for a great stay!

We enjoyed sitting on the back porch watching the mountain bikers come down the hill. The kitchen was well equipped for our needs. Appreciated having a working ice maker. Sheets were soft and clean, bathrooms were clean and had plenty of hot water. I think all 8 of us took showers after a day on the trails and no on ran out. mattresses were worn but that isn’t unusual in VrBOs and would not keep us from staying here again. Very much enjoyed our stay.

We highly recommend this condo! It's very clean, comfortable and convenient, and has a wonderful kitchen to cook in. The owners were also very responsive to requests for a late check out which was greatly appreciated!

This property is located at the base of the Purgatory Ski area at the Edelweiss development with beautiful natural surroundings. The unit comfortably accommodated our party of 5 adults and 2 children. Bedding and linens were very good and the unit served us well. There was an issue with noise between floors, the wood flooring resulted in noticeable footsteps on upper levels of the property. The carpeted steps were in need of cleaning and the unit was a bit dusty on arrival. We had elderly in-laws with us who had some difficulty with the stairs, but we were able to work through that issue. Overall a very pleasant stay.

We had 8 adults stay. A bit small for all of us to gather in the kitchen/living area. However the place was very nice and was fully stocked! Plenty of firewood, kitchen supplies, etc. and the best part was the ski out and ski in location.

Great cozy getaway with beautiful scenic views. I want to thank the host for great arrangements starting with warm rooms, fully furnished kitchen, fireplace and to our surprise we found books and board games for a great time pass with family. The hosts were very prompt to all our queries. Thank you for giving us a great experience.
We had snow shower on the day of arrival but next morning Robert cleaned the drive way such that cars can drive up and down. He also helped to push our car from the snow single handedly such that kids could drive for fun. Please convey my gratitude to Robert.

Stayed here with family for a wedding at Purgatory resort. We walked to the resort and home again. Beautiful time to visit. Visited Honeyville- left with lighter wallet, heavy box.
Would love to come back to just sit on the porch and enjoy the space. Thanks!!!

This condo suited our family’s needs perfectly! The first floor had a king bedroom with ensuite bathroom for the grandparents. The second floor had another king bedroom with ensuite bathroom and the kitchen, dining area and living room with a fireplace. The third floor had two queen bedrooms, a loft with two twin beds, and a bathroom for the kids. There is a very nice deck on the second floor with lots of seating, a grill, and beautiful views of the trees and wildlife. The hummingbirds and chipmunks were great entertainment!
The unit is well stocked with all the necessities plus a few extras. We brought groceries and had most breakfasts and dinners at the condo.
Our only surprise was that there was no air conditioning. Most of the time this was no issue, but we were there in the middle of July and the daytime temperatures got up around 90 degrees a few days and it got a bit warm during the afternoon and early evening on the second and third floors.
The location was perfect as we spent time at the resort as well as activities around Durango to the south and Silverton to the north. There are plenty of activities to do. We rented jeeps one day and went exploring on four wheel drive trails out of Silverton, we went horseback riding, white water rafting, rode the Durango Silverton train, went to the Bar D chuck wagon supper show, and did kayaking, paddle boarding, alpine slide and mountain coaster at Pugatory resort.
The area is very clean and we felt very safe.

Great place, perfect location, just wish the internet had worked. Snow storm took it out, so no fault of the condo.

This is our favorite friend/family trip of the year and the condo was a perfect fit. Nothing beats being able to ski down to the first lift (especially with kids), coming back to your own place for lunch, and having drinks on the deck while the kids sled once the lifts close.
Our condo had everything we needed and the hosts were very helpful and responsive to any needs or questions.
We've already booked for next year.

We had 8 adults and was very accommodating for all of us. The kitchen was fully stocked with all cooking pans, utensils, etc., that we needed for meals each day and the bedrooms also had humidifiers to help with the dry air. The owner Leslie was very responsive not to mention that the location is one of the best on the mountain truly skiing right out of and into the back door. Definitely will stay again!!!

Cozy condo right on the slopes. Ski in/ski out. Easy walk to village for non skiers and after skiing.

This place was perfect for our group! The decor was perfect and cozy and the kitchen had everything we needed! So conveniently located close to the lifts that we were able to board/ski all day and when we were done, we were right on our back deck. The hosts were very easy to communicate with and answered all my messages right away. 10/10 Highly recommend!

I really enjoyed it here. The location is fantastic, great vibe, clearly a loved place. Being able to have our dogs there was a treat. Some of my family were nit-picky in my opinion. We were clearly the first of the ski season. The place was clean, but wasn't walked through before we arrived (a few items needed attending to) & the heat wasn't on (and took a day to warm up); but honestly, I think these things were all related to the start of the season and would be atypical. I would (and hope to) stay here again; and I think that is the overall sentiment of our group.

My family loved staying here very very much. It was very relaxing and fun. The weather was perfect. The day time highs were moderate, and the evenings were cool. We had an occasional short rain which was also very pleasant. It was a major relief from the heat of Albuquerque.
My family was pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the condo. The Vrbo pictures don’t do it justice. The back deck faces the side of a green mountain slope. We often ate on the deck as we watched the hummingbirds. The mountain blocks the sun in the late afternoon, so your shaded from direct sunlight.
All 4 bedrooms of the condo were very nice and comfortable. Everyone slept well which made the experience all the better. Sleep is so important if you want to have a good time and recover from the daily grind back home.
The condo owner, Leslie, was very kind and helpful. She recommended restaurants, hikes, San Juan Back Country and other fun activities.
Our favorite place to eat was the James Ranch. All the food is farm fresh and very tasty. The veggie burgers are the best ever. The French fries are like nothing I’ve ever tasted. The meats are also very fresh.
In Silverton we liked the Handlebar restaurant. The food was delicious and the decor was fitting for Silverton.
Our favorite activity was driving UTVs from San Juan Backcountry in Silverton, as recommended by Leslie. We drove to the Animas forks ghost town and then even further to California Pass for spectacular views. The mountains were steep, covered with beautiful green fields of grass and flowers. There were few trees since we were above the timberline. We were awed by the structures dating back to the 1800s, amazed by how people must have lived. You can’t grasp it unless your there.
Just hanging out in the condo was also very nice. It’s beautifully decorated and so peaceful. With 4 bedrooms everyone has their own space as needed. When looking through Vrbo, two things caught my attention about this condo, the location is excellent and the price was just right for 4 bedrooms.
Needless to say, we will return and we are so grateful for the owners who allowed us to stay in their beautiful home.

Wonderful condo, superb accessibility
We had a wonderful stay! We came to Purgatory for a mountain bike race and it was the perfect location for the mountain bikers in our group. They were able to ride and then come in for lunch and go ride again. The three story space gave our group of 10 lots of room to be together but also some space to ourselves. The condo was beautifully decorated and a great hub for all the activities we did in the area. We loved the view from the back deck and the children in our group loved being able to go play right from the back door. We throughly enjoyed our stay and if we come to Purgatory again, we will want to come back to Leslie’s place!

3 stars for the dwelling, 5 for the location
We've been coming to Purgatory for years and stayed in several condos of various types and sizes. This time we had our parents with us so we needed more space. This one is in a great location but the unit itself left a lot to be desired. I'm a very positive person but feel honest feedback would be helpful for future guests. I was surprised by all the 5-star reviews. In short, if you need 2 master suites, look elsewhere. If you don't, and have 4-6 people this would be a great place to consider.
In detail the master down stairs earned itself the nickname "the dungeon." The mattress was in desperate need of replacement and you could see the depressions in it even after it was made. The bathroom in there was smaller than a cruise ship and the toilet was the lowest I have ever seen (and I've been in real estate for 18-years) and being 6'5" that wasn't ideal. It was so bad that my wife and moved into the bedrooms upstairs and kicked our kids out to the loft area. The main master seemed okay, my in-laws didn't complain.
We did learn something we didn't know, single ply toilet paper is still available! The TP here would have been better used to wet sand a paint job than to wipe your, well you know.
Other than that it was okay. It was cramped even for our party of 6, so I can't imagine having 10 people here. The car port was extra wide which made storing our SUP boards and bikes easy. The kitchen was small but well stocked, lots of spices which was nice.
Sitting on the back patio was awesome! The proximity to the lift was amazing and the views of people jumping their bikes on "Last Chance" was really fun to see! Like I said, a 5 for location, 3 for the unit itself.

Awesome amenities and great location for fun and family
Well stocked kitchen, plenty of space and room for 10. We loved being right off the slopes and mountain bike path. Coffee on the porch was delightful. Location to Purgatory and ALL the mountain activities was at our door v

Absolutely Wonderful!
This condo is wonderful! My daughter was getting married the weekend we stayed at Purgatory. We used this condo to house the bride and her friends. The accommodations were perfect for them. We also had two other ski in ski out condos in Edelweiss, so family and friend interaction was easy. We enjoyed the condo, Purgatory, and nearby hiking. It was wonderful! I highly recommend!

Do you want to build a snowman?
Edelweiss was just right for our group. It is an easy walking distance to the base to pick up rentals and even the green skiiers could get on the path from the lift to ski right up to the porch. We had plenty of show so our Florida crew thoroughly enjoyed building an 8' snowman, which got lots of comments from passing skiiers. Sleeping was comfortable and the kitchen and dinner table was large enough to accomodate our group of 9. This was the first ski condo I have ever rented that actually had a stocked kitchen. We enjoyed a fire every night (although next time we will bring lighter knot wood from home) and were grateful for covered parking. The few issues we did have were quickly resolved with an email. We would absolutely consider staying at this location again.

Great for a ski trip with friends. We were sad that we didn't have access to the pool/hot tub, but the owner communicated very promptly and explained the exorbitant fees associated with pool access.

Perfect Ski In and Ski Out Location
We could not have asked for a better week at Durango/Purgatory.
Property was in such a great location and made it so convenient for us to trade off kid responsibilities between adults.
Property was clean and I found the beds to be comfortable.
The hosts (Leslie and Richard) are as nice as they come and exceptionally personable; that in itself made me love this place even more (they are very responsive to emails).
I am so appreciative to have found this booking and will rebook for future trips!
