having our own golf cart was a huge plus. the location is was nice for us, as it was further out of the town center and relatively quiet. The carpets and fabric furniture were heavily stained and musty. Also we couldn't figure out the tv. Other than that, we had a great time and enjoyed our stay

This condo is great. It comes with a golf cart, which is essential due to the condo’s proximity to the beach. It has a ton of space. It does need some upgrades and isn’t squeaky clean but after staying at a few other places in Avalon this is line with other properties. We’ll definitely book again.

We loved the location, the spaciousness and access to the golf cart! Communication with management was EXCEPTIONAL. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook several full meals. We didn't use the pool area but it was nice to know it was there. We loved that there were games and puzzles and 2 outdoor areas. We would definitely stay again but there are definitely some things that could use improvement. The condo itself is nice but dated. The mattresses in the lower bedrooms are OLD and very uncomfortable. The dining table only has 5 chairs...which is a shame considering we had a party of 6. We ended up using an ottoman for the 6th seat. The stovetop had a couple burners that did not work. There were cobwebs in the upstairs bathroom and on the lamp in the living room. Overall, it is a great place to stay but for the price, I just think there should be some updates for comfort, etc.

Convenient, wonderful to have a golf cart included to drive. A bit run down. Blinds broken in bedroom.

Great place with lots of room. It was very convenient to have the golf cart. Pool and jacuzzi was a bonus. Our group is technically challenged and couldn’t navigate the TV but the management came very quickly to help. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat.

Stayed here over labor day weekend (100 degrees) and surprised to find the owner disabled the AC for bookings. I'm assuming this is to save $$$ even though the unit was thousands for the weekend. This is definitely something the management company should inform people of. Aside from being misled, the fans they indicated were in the closet were caked with dirt and dust. Other parts of the unit were neglected as well. They were kind enough to refund a portion for the unit not being clean and also the fact we couldn't get comfortable during our stay. Would have never booked if I had known. The owner was also kind enough to not have laundry detergent in the laundry room. Another cost saving measure I'm sure.......cheap!

Lots of space for gear-intensive SCUBA diving
The folks at Catalina Island Vacation Rentals were very friendly, receptive, and quick to respond to questions. The space was a little off the beaten path but had loads of space for all our scuba gear for a long weekend of diving for four of us - we never felt cramped. Having access to the golf cart was much appreciated for shuttling gear and getting around. Would highly recommend.

Very dated condo . Not very charming and not close to anything.
This was undoubtedly the worst rental we've stayed at. The dishwasher door was laying in the hallway, the kitchen sink was leaking, the toilet was plugged and the shades in the master bedroom was stuck open, flooding the bedroom at night with the neighbor's porch light. Response by the property manager was slow and required repeated emails and calls. The formica countertops, dirty shag (yes, shag) carpet and the low tech cable TV with only10-12 channels was also a turn-off.
I guess the biggest disappointment was the location of the condo. It is located right next to the road so you can hear every car/cart that goes up the road all times of the day/night. To call it a "beach house" is a real stretch since it is located in a canyon as far away from everything. It is in a condo complex populated primarily by people who work in town and it is quite a walk to go in town or down by the harbor. On a positive note, the golf cart that came with the condo was a real plus and a necessity given its location.

Loved this place
The golf cart really made our stay worthwhile as everything in town was accessible and fun to zip around it. The master bed is huge (king size) and there's a bathroom on each floor. The neighbors are not too excited about having vacationers here...next door is a sign that says 'STOP...this is not your rental home, keep walking' on their front door. I guess they don't want to be bothered. Perfect rental for our family of four.
