Best place we have stayed so far! Great location, loved the front porch. Perfect for our family of 5.

The house was better than expected. Had everything we needed for our stay. The only downside was we could hear the street noise as the house is not well insulated but fortunately the noise was minimal at night.

The overall house was in a great location. It had everything needed but very old. The Decorative pillows were gross (dirty). The walls need to be cleaned. The toilet lid in the master bedroom was not on properly. The coffee pot was really old as well. The TV was really small and the controllers to the TV didn’t work very well. The house overall was great I would feel more comfortable if there were blinds on the front door it was uncomfortable at night that people could see in the house. The cat that came around every day was a bonus.

The house is darling and in good shape for its age. They did a great job upgrading the kitchen. The layout worked well for a friends trip. The bathrooms are very small but adequate. Would have been nice to have shampoo in the shower like all other vaca rentals I’ve stayed at but they don’t provide that so bring your own or hit up Vons before you shower. Maybe it is in the small print somewhere and I missed that. Great location and the management was easy to communicate with. Loved sitting out on the front porch watching all the people and golf carts go by, even a late night deer trotted by. Nice having the washer and dryer. My only negative would be the king bed is ready to be replaced. It has a huge sunken down side and wasn’t comfy. Spouse had to move to a bunk bed in the other room which were way better. All around great visit tho. Clean, cute, and near everything. Still gets 5 stars in almost every category.

Overall the little house was beautiful and in a nice walking distance to beach and Vons. House lacks cleaningness as couch, bed and decor pillows smelled old and dusty. Our main bed pillows had burn stains on them. The bed smelled like it came from grandmas attic.
The kitchen needs more modern appliances such as a coffee keurig machine. It has an old burned coffee drip brewer. No charcoal on-site to grill. Although theirs wifi there’s basic cable only. No movies to watch (mayor disappointment) we relied on our phones for movies. Out of all the places we’ve stayed at this has been the worse in my books.
I rather walk to a better hotel or apartment and have better amenities than to stay in a small cottage with no leg room. Bathrooms were also very disappointing. The master one was super Small and no space to change other than the bedroom. TVs are super small. Computer screens to be more accurate: bad experience overall

Good family place
Very pleasant experience . Kids loved it . The only negative was the early checkout and late check-in times . We had to pay extra to store our luggage on arrival and departure.

Nice place overall
Convenient location and cute house. It's old (100+ years), so not every thing works quite right. Some of the inside doors don't latch closed, but it wasn't really an issue for us. We'd stay there again for sure!

Charming and clean cottage
All 6 of us (ages 16 to 68 years older) loved the well situated and charming cottage. Not noisy at all in January. Located within two blocks of Vons supermarket makes it very convenient. Well equipped kitchen and great porch. Super clean with plenty of towels. And the property manager was very responsive. We plan to return!

Super cute and convenient
The cottage is lovely! The owners have taken care to create a quaint and cozy little rental that is perfect for families. My kids loved the bunk beds and, though small, there was plenty of space for my family of 5. The location is very conveniently located. My family's only complaints were, because there was no A/C, the windows had to be kept open. Since this is a fairly busy street with all the houses so close, there was noise from intoxicated people at night that woke them up and noisy golf carts during the day that made relaxing on the adorable front porch less than ideal. The cute table on the back porch was a nice quiet place to have dinner since it was away from the sgreet noise. The TVs are very small, but I didn't mind since it was nice to adjust my family's attention away from the TV and towards other interests. All in all, we really enjoyed this adorable cottage and would stay again.

So cute!
Loved this place. We were so pleased to find everything we needed there, wagons, bbq, beach chairs, umbrella, cooler. The house was roomy and we loved sitting on the spacious porch. Close to grocery store.

Cute but Issues
Super cute house in great location close to town and grocery store. Beds are comfortable and furnishings are great, room for a group. Kitchen stocked well. Master bedroom and bath had no power in outlets or lights. Reported issue but was told repair could not he made without electrician so spent weekend showering in the dark and getting ready in the living room. Asked if we could leave bags at house past checkout on last day as compensation but agency refused. Great little house but it might have issues and they won't compensate you for it.

cute little place
my family enjoyed our stay.
relaxing decor.
only down sides from the house itself were:
1. no dishwasher or "chilled water" dispender.
2. two decks of cards.. but both were missing cards :(
Lots of lovely books and other games provided though.
We definitely enjoyed our stay.

Perfect Beach House
We LOVED everything about this place. It was spotless, charmingly decorated, it was my dream beach house. The layout was perfect. Loved that there are games, books and movies. Master Shower had excellent water pressure. Kitchen well equipped. Voghn’s grocer was as a 1 min walk and town and beach are a 2-5 min walk.
We didn’t have our kids with us, but they provide not one, but TWO wagons, which after traveling loads with our kids is amazing for going back and forth to the beach.
They also have the best veranda hands down.
I guess our only thing is for the price per night, I feel they could have a golf cart to use to explore Avalon with instead of having to go into town and rent one.

Very Nice Getaway!
I really enjoyed our stay. It was centrally located to Von's and all the restaurants and stores. It was a little smaller than I anticipated but was quite comfortable. Would have preferred to double beds instead of 4 bunk beds for quests. I would reccommend this place.

Great Beach Bungalow
Our family had an amazing time at this rental. We stayed on the island for five days and this was a great unit. Although, the home was small, it was perfect for us. We brought four teenagers with us, so the front room with bunk beds was a great space for sleeping. It does, however, lack storage space for all of their luggage. The bathroom in the master bedroom is great, with awesome water pressure. The second bathroom in the back of the house does not have any shelves or spots to place shower essentials so that was difficult, but manageable. The kitchen had everything we needed for making meals and the new Vons is super close. Probably our favorite spot is the front porch, which is cozy and a great place to “people watch.” Plus the unit is in walking distance of everything. There is also a cute, orange kitty that likes to frequent the property and hang out.
Some honest downfalls to the space would be the paper thin walls between the front bedroom and master bedroom. The two bedrooms share a wall and you can hear everything in both rooms. No air conditioning in the unit, so we really could have used a third fan. That way there is one in each bedroom and one in the living space to circulate air. It was lovely weather for us, but as the season warms up, this could be an issue. There is a lot of traffic on Sumner so be prepared for that. It wasn’t an issue for us, but some people don’t realize the noise level from the golf carts can get pretty loud. The dryer was not working properly, but we informed the rental company and they placed a work order right away.
We enjoyed our stay on the island and in this cute little beach home. The rental company was extremely helpful and accommodating. Overall a lovely stay and experience.

The property was clean, comfortable and well-appointed.
We enjoyed our stay. Loved hanging out on the front deck and also sitting inside and watching tv and playing games. The kitchen had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable. Everything was clean. Would stay here again.

Best Beach House
My family of 5 had a great time in this little beach house. I spent most of the time on the wonderful front porch and read, napped and people watched. The new Vons is literally one block away with a fully stocked grocery store. We only stayed 3 days there but enjoyed every minute of it. We had breakfast at home every day and was walking distance to all the restaurants in town by the water. Would definitely stay here again.

Avalon has issues...
As we boarded the Catalina Express in Dana Point on Friday to start our 3 day weekend we were greeted with an announcement that Avalon had a main water line break and that they expected it to be fixed in a few hours. Since it would take us 1 1/2 hours to arrive we figured all would be well by the time we got off the boat. WRONG - not only did a water line break but a sewage line broke! The beaches were CLOSED, there was no running water and the restaurants were all closed! A bit of a panic ensued at the poor little Vons grocery store - shelves emptied of water bottles rapidly and people scrambled to buy anything they could for a meal! We quickly booked a trip home for the first boat out on Saturday am since we didn't feel like doing this for 2 more days! Finally, they got the water back on sometime during the night so we were able to wash and shower. We quickly went into town to see that the restaurants were going to open. We decided to stay and make the best of it (golf cart, tour bus around island, submersible boat ride) since this was going to be our only family trip with my 3 grown children. The house was fine, but its on a very busy street, noisy with golf carts and mariachi music playing across the street and yappy chihuahuas. Mostly, it just would have been nice if the rental company had given us a heads up - apparently the water had been turned off and on may times during the week! I even called them on Thursday before we left to ask about beach towels and no one mentioned a word of this. I felt a little duped. Never even got to put my toes in the water because the beach was closed the entire wknd! I won't be making another trip there anytime soon.
