Our family stayed here for three nights in early April and we would definitely return! Todd is a wonderful host who was very kind and welcoming, and he quickly returned any email questions we had. It snowed shortly before we arrived and Todd made sure the deck was cleared off so we could sit by the water. The next day he brought out a canoe and paddles so we were able to get out on the lake, which is peaceful and beautiful. The only sounds we heard were birds and water lapping.
The cottage itself is lovely: clean, comfortable, sunny, and spacious. The kitchen is stocked with everything we needed, including a coffee grinder and plenty of dishes and glasses for all occasions. The beds are comfortable as well. It was a pleasure to stay here and we didn’t want to leave. We all hope to come back in the summer.

We would definitely stay here again.

We loved staying at Todd’s place! The pictures of the house and property do not do it justice. The house is immaculately clean. It feels like a brand new house. The house is tastefully decorated and warm and cozy. The beds were super comfy as well as the bedding. The house is fully stocked with everything you could want or need. Check in was easy and Todd is quick to respond. The lake the house sits on is beautiful and so peaceful. My family and I loved hiking the wild life conservation trail across the street. Wow was it ever so stunning! My kid’s loved being in “two places at once” on the trail… Canada and the US. The town is adorable. We enjoyed grabbing dinner near downtown and visiting the farmers market. We will definitely be back!

it was a very pleasant quiet setting near the lake. the owners were very responsive and helpful. Gave us ideas of where to go to eat in town. Did not use the deck by the water but owners were more than accomodating. Enjoyed our walks on the trails. House was well supplied with everything you might need. Would defiinitely stay there again.

The location was beautiful, house was immaculate and our hosts were gracious and so accommodating. Todd and Tracy were so helpful before and during our stay. They were very available for our questions before, gave us excellent recommendations for walking, restaurants etc in the area. They were available during our stay but gave us our privacy. The house was absolutely clean and equipped with anything you might need, except the food itself. Kitchen fully equipped, grill in the back in a beautiful woodland setting, sunny porch in the front. The neighborhood is private and quiet, and so close to the town for dining, farmers market etc. We were very happy with our stay!

The accommodations were amazing! Plenty of room and activities in one of the most beautiful parts of the state. My family will be back to visit the area again soon. The property owner was great to deal with and very accommodating with local recommendations. Also unlike some of the horror stories you ready about (getting out to work around the property). His requests were very reasonable.

A nice weather forecast for the weekend led us to look for a place on the lake. We were fortunate to find this house at the last minute. The house was very clean, completely furnished and gave us a place near the water. We had a very pleasant weekend.

Absolutely wonderful!! Great communication with the hosts, description was right on, just what we were looking for. Very quiet and remote location but easy to get to stores and restaurants. The house was very tidy, pretty roomy, beautifully decorated, really felt homey. The yard was great to play badminton and such. I loved that we could bring our dogs and enjoy the kayaks. I can’t rave about this place enough.

We made wonderful memories with our family staying at this beautiful cottage. From its perfect lake location/views and outdoor/indoor amenities to the owners’ friendliness and communication … we have all great things to say about our stay. We took advantage of the paddle boat, kayaks and canoe just about every day! On some occasions as big as the lake is … it would feel so quiet and private out on the water! And, there was so much we were able play on the open lawn area in front (we have a 7 year old) - wiffle ball games, badminton, lawn darts and we even had a great afternoon to fly a kite! And top it off with fireworks over the lake on the 4th of July … while making s’mores and having a couple beers around the fire pit … who could ask for more! We may just make this cottage the meeting spot with our Canadian side of the family for other times of the year, too. It made a long overdue visit with them (due to the pandemic) have the vacation feel we were looking for! Thank you!

Amazing Home Away From Home!
This lakeside getaway is pristine and Todd is a wonderful host! He was very communicative and attentive to our needs. We arrived late in the evening and Todd had the lights on and the house ready for us. The house was immaculate and had everything we could want. The kitchen was fully stocked, including an electric griddle, coffee maker, teapot, aluminum foil, storage containers, and cleaning supplies so that we could pick up after ourselves. I will admit that walking with bare feet in a hotel room or somewhere other than my own home gives me the heebie geebies; but not here! I very much enjoyed the house, the beach, and early summer weather - bare feet and all.
I am grateful to have found the perfect place to get away and relax for a long weekend. If I could give it six stars, I would.
PS - Todd pointed out a walking short walking trail through a wildlife preserve that goes to the Canadian border and my family really enjoyed that experience. Also, Tim and Doug's Ice cream stand in town at the Pick and Shovel is a must-do.

Great Stay in the NEK
A great President’s Day weekend! This cozy house was not only warm when we got there but the kitchen was stocked with all the utensils we needed to cook dinner. Showers were refreshing and we loved the open downstairs area. We think this would be a great place in the summer time too! Our only wish is that the drive to Jay Peak could be a little shorter. The host was very communicative too!

Exactly what we were looking for!
We had a lovely stay at Todd's cottage. We were looking for a quiet spot not far from Jay Resort and this was it! The space was as described, very clean and tidy, and the host was very attentive. Thank you Todd! We would stay again!

Ski Weekend
My family spent the weekend of 2/11/22-2/13/22 at this immaculate, organized, completely stocked house with every item you need while on vacation. The owner was quick and responsive to emails and willing to give suggestions for restaurants. The 45 minute ride is picturesque to Jay Peak making it feel much less. The lake is beautiful and I can only image how much fun staying here during the summer would be. My family would 100% stay at this beautiful house again. Thank you to Todd and his family for your hospitality during our stay.

Great place to stay!
We had a great time using this house as a base for skiing at Jay. Lots of space - massive living room - and a very nice walking trail nearby. Very easy to get recommendations or anything you need from the owners who live just next door. Would stay again!

Lovely and Relaxing
We had a brief stay at Todd’s cottage. It was midpoint in our vacation and we really needed a rest. The cottage is spacious and the bed was comfortable. Great place to recharge. We sat at the lake and took long walks. We would definitely stay there again.

Great Stay at the Lake!
My wife and I and our two children really enjoyed our time in Todd's lake house! The house is clean, modern, in great shape, and the location is fabulous. It is set back from the lake more than the other houses on the peninsula but shares lakefront access with the house Todd and his family stay in. They were wonderful hosts and went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable and that we knew the yard and private beach --as well as their four kayaks, canoe, row boat, and paddle boat-- were completely available for our use. The Eagle Point neighborhood was very quiet, and even though other people were there enjoying their houses, we had a great deal of privacy. We highly recommend Todd's house and would definitely visit again!

Beautiful lake house
Our trip was beautiful, relaxing, and completely seamless. Todd was a wonderful host and was extremely helpful and gracious. I visited with my family over Labor Day weekend and everything was great. The lake was right on the property and my family enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boat. The landscape in Newport is stunning too. Highly recommend this experience!

Wonderful vacation
My friend, Linda, and I and my dog spent 8 days at this property and loved every minute of it. The house was extremely spacious for the 2 of us, which was great, and I think it would be spacious for four people, too. It was clean and comfortable, and the kitchen was stocked with all the cookware you’d need. The location is awesome, on a quiet cove of a large lake (75% of which is in Canada), and within walking distance of a wildlife sanctuary. We took long walks every night in pristine countryside, no power lines, just beautiful meadows, views of hills and lake, and a dirt road. The rental shares the lawn and little beach with hosts Todd and Tracy, whose house is on the water. However, we felt we had these spaces to ourselves, as T&T basically only showed up to answer our needs (took the kayaks off the rack for us, brought water to my dog when we were kayaking!). They were wonderful hosts, immediately responsive and fun to talk to. Their house, the rental house and several other houses are on a little peninsula, Eagle Point—so we had a lovely “community” feeling during our week of privacy, silence, nature and beauty. I swam (safe in cove), and we kayaked around islands and walked—all, mostly daily. We were in a part of the world where we’d never been (10 minute walk through the wildlife sanctuary to the Canadian border). We couldn’t have asked for more during our vacation.

Beautiful Location
This property is beautiful. The home was exceptionally clean and well stocked with everything you could possibly need. The beech was perfect and perfectly situated so less affected by choppy waves. Fishing was great. Mostly perch and bass but we did not venture off too far either.
The owners were very nice and accommodating and responsive. Todd helped me launch my bow rider from a spot I could have not done on my own then let me park the trailer in his driveway and leave my boat at the beech. We could not have asked for a better vacation.

Relaxing week
We just got back from a week at this property. We were lucky enough to have great weather all week. Owners are very responsive and we were welcome to use their access to the lake, as well as their fire pit and canoe/kayak, etc. Cottage was exactly as pictured. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Awesome family vacation get-away!
We rented for one week and were most pleased with the area, the lake, the cottage and the owners. First the area: located within yards of the US-Canada border, this section of Green Mountain State is one of the most scenic I've had the pleasure to visit. It has everything: rolling, forested mountains, open pastures and grasslands, a beautiful and uncrowded lake, and many fewer people than most New England vacation spots. The lake is larger than average for the state: less than a quarter of its 28 mile length is in Vermont, the remainder extends into Quebec. The section of the lake where we stayed is dotted with small islands with rocky shorelines, protected tree-lined coves, and some terrain where the lake gives way to marshland. Within a few yards of the cottage there's a wildlife management area with wetlands and grassy areas full of birds, waterfowl, small game and deer. There are also trails for walking and unhurried roads for jogging and biking. As others have remarked, the cottage is as furnished and well-stocked as a family home. The owners have anticipated almost every need for comfort and utility. The kitchen has almost every kind of utensil, an attractive gas range & oven, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, roomy fridge, plenty of cups, glasses, plates and bowls, flour, sugar, spices, etc. There's also a great Weber gas grill in the backyard. Very comfy furniture and beds. Clean bathrooms with good plumbing, a washer & dryer, nicely finished floors, a great deck with a good table and seating, etc. I've rented a number of vacation homes before, and this one by far is the best value I've encountered. Finally, there are the owners who work hard to be excellent hosts. They do a great job keeping the place in tip-top order, but with a light touch. Their own vacation home is on an adjacent lot, but apart from inquiring whether everything was fine, they gave us plenty of space and privacy. They offer the use of a rowboat, a paddle boat, and a canoe. They have a small stretch of sandy beach where my cousin's two kids played every afternoon. The water is warm and good for swimming. The owner's had also left us two bottles of wine on the dining room table when we arrived, a very welcoming gesture. I would recommend this property to most people, but especially families with young children or teens, young couples, and retired people. The only people I would not recommend the property to is any poor soul who needs constantly to be connected to the internet!

Relaxing Get Away
We vacationed here for the first time with our almost 3 year old son and dear friends. It was great to unwind and disconnect (our choice) from electronics and reconnect with our friends and family. We enjoyed coffee every morning by the water while our son played for hours on the sandy beach.
The accommodations were beautiful - very clean, well stocked house! The owners were very attentive to our needs but also respectful of our privacy.
A most memorable vacation! Just what we needed as a family! Would love to visit here again.

Great place with Fantastic Sites
I have been coming to the cottage the past two years. Clean, quiet, peaceful place to relax. The fishing is spectacular and the sites you see on the water and on land are nature at its best.

beautiful cottage in perfect location
This cottage is very beautiful, comfortable and clean.
The area is very quiet, it is a perfect place for fishing, swimming, walking, or just relaxing by the lake. There is also a beautiful bike trail nearby. Todd and Tracy tought of everything, so on arrival you find the house clean, and everything that could be needed (towels, bbq, dishwasher, microwave, cooking ustensils...)
We will be going back for a third time next summer.

Wonderful Family Vacation Property
My family just returned from our second annual trip to this lovely vacation home. Once again, it was just a wonderful experience and so hard to leave! The flat beach and shallow water are perfect for our younger child, and our older son loves to fish and swim from the dock that is just a short ways out. The gradually-sloping, grassy area provides an excellent spot for parents to relax and enjoy the sun while still keeping the kids in full view. The cove is so quiet and peaceful, and the fully-appointed home with modern kitchen and lovely bedrooms make this the perfect place for a family vacation. Watching the sun rise and set from the deck is so relaxing, and Todd and Tracey do absolutely everything they can to make your stay a wonderful experience. We discovered the groomed biking/walking trails that are right down the road, and we enjoyed the close proximity to many amenities, including grocery stores, restaurants, movies and tennis courts. We highly recommend this property for a vacation stay. We're hoping to vacation here again soon!
