Swedish Paradise is one of Folly's Best Rentals. This modern home is located at one of the narrowest points in the island. As you can see from our map, it is s short walk to the beach. Each bedroom has a balcony overlooking the marsh and river.
This house provides the quiet relaxation of the island's river side with easy access to the beach. Enjoy a quiet dinner on the screened back porch or sun bath on one of the second floor private open decks.
The designers of this house did an excellent job setting up the elegant house with clean lines and modern fixtures.
Well behaved house-broken, flea treated dogs are welcome with approval, but there is no fenced yard, so they would need to be walked on a leash. Keep in mind that dogs are not allowed on the beach between the hours of 10:00am-6:00pm from May 1st to September 30th.

My group of 4 stayed here for a week and we very much enjoyed it! It was a short walk to the beach, had spacious bedrooms, good porch area, and a complete kitchen. The property is a bit older with some older fixtures and could be more deeply cleaned, but it had everything we needed and we enjoyed our stay!

We stayed for two weeks at this beach house & had a great time. It’s close walking distance to some of the best surfing on the island. The back of the house is on the marsh, through the deck & one upstairs bedroom you have a nice view. The owner is super kind & helpful. The property was clean & we had no issues.

What a wonderful month! My husband and I and our golden retriever stayed at Sarita’s beautiful home for the month of April and it was everything we had hoped it would be and more! The location is on the quiet end of Folly Beach and just two blocks from the beach. We woke up to the sounds of marsh birds every morning. The home is as seen in photos…very comfortable and had plenty of room for visiting grown kids and grand kids. Lots of steps at the property. Our 12 year old golden navigated them with some effort but if mobility is an issue it could be tough. Sarita was very communicative and easy to work with but honestly we had no concerns and no reason to reach out after our arrival. For me the best part of the house was the one minute walk to the beach! We will be back!

Tucked away on a quiet street, a three minute walk to the beach with views of an expansive marsh and waterways to the west, this is a wonderful place to enjoy the natural beauty of Folly Island. My friend and I enjoyed cooking in the well-equipped kitchen and shared meals on the screened porch to while listening to bird song, and watching for egrets, herons and the occasional pelican. Most evenings we would walk a short block to view the spectacular sunsets and then return to the property to watch the setting sun transform the marsh. The house is lovely and comfortable without being fussy. We didn't realize that Folly would be transformed by crowds over the Easter holidays, so we were especially glad to be in a quiet neighborhood a few miles from the traffic and crowds. The one challenge was arriving at night - like many houses on the island, the living space is on the second and third floor. The spiral steps in front made carrying up our suitcases and bags a little daunting. If we have the opportunity to return, I would plan to arrive during the day and carry bags up the back steps which are much easier to maneuver.

My husband and our two dogs thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It’s a lovely neighborhood and a quick walk to the beach. It was great to have a screened in porch and a spacious kitchen. The kitchen could be a little more organized, but that’s a minor detail. The master bath could have been a little cleaner, mostly the sink, but that was easy to clean

The photos do not do the house justice. Better than expected with everything needed for a beach vacation. Plenty of room to spread out. Ample parking. Kitchen was well stocked. Beach chairs and towels supplied and put to good use. The house is one block from the beach. A quiet low key part of Folly Beach. Not walking distance to restaurants which was fine with us. We went grocery shopping on the way in and spent the entire week at the beach. Should you be looking to dine out, “town” is a five minute drive. Parking is tight. There is a paid lot. Worth the money. The rear of the house has a marsh view. Breakfast on the screened in back porch was the perfect start to the day. If you are looking for a week at the beach, some time in downtown Charleston or a combination of activities, this house has the perfect location. I would highly recommend. One note, there is one king bed and two queens, along with sleeping space in the living room. Could be challenging for families with small children. No single beds or bunks. We were three adults, perfect fit.

We had an amazing stay at this house. The layout was perfect for a large family, a short walk to a quiet area of the beach. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. The property was very clean and spacious. We had a great time and the porches were great to relax on! The ONLY setback was the front stairs. They were a little tricky to navigate for my elderly parents, but we learned quickly! We had a great stay and would stay there again! House is spacious- we were 4 adults and a cat. The three bedrooms gave everyone ample of space to everyone. Living area is comfortable.
House was cleaned very well and host is extremely responsive. They are nice enough to send back wall charger left in the house. Only reason not to give 5 stars is that the upper floor is a bit dated.

Our three month stay in Folly Beach was a most relaxing and social time this winter. The home is just as pictured in the photos. It was comfortable and the main floor open concept met our needs for living space and entertaining. The bedrooms upstairs had their own master bathrooms. If anything was a little let down, it was the cleanliness. Some walls are scuffed, utensil and pan drawers were dirty, the carpets were not clean. However, when we asked Sarita to help us, she immediately had the carpets cleaned. She was an ideal property manager. The water heater broke and water cascaded into the first floor. Sarita had the plumbers out the next day and repairs were made. The home sits high and there are numerous steps to climb, from the street and up the stairs. This was not a problem for us, but might be. Not much of a yard, all dirt...but we didn't use it except in the backyard for our dog. the furniture, especially the beds, were comfortable. The home is a 2 and 1/2 minute walk to the beach. Ideal for getting the dog out for a long walk. Ideal for just sitting and reading while the ocean curled in. It would be nice to have some non-rusty chairs to take to the beach, but we bought our own. Having three patio/decks overlooking the marsh was a treat. We were there in the winter months so the daylight sunshine hours on the decks were limited. Folly Beach is a quaint town with lots of options for eating out. Also, the trip to Charleston is an easy 8 mile drive and Charleston has fantastic restaurants, local theater, and some good music lounges, like Forte. Overall, our three months sped by. The neighborhood was very walkable, only 1.5 miles to downtown Folly Beach. Lots of different streets to wander. The bikes made traveling to Folly Beach much easier. Loved the new Pier which opened while we were there. Sarita is an ideal host. Always responsive to our needs and was invested in making our extended stay comfortable. The kitchen could use some more equipment. We had our own coffee grinder and there were probably not enough glasses, cocktail, wine and drinking. A couple of lights need to be rewired and I would like to see some lights out back, especially for taking our dog out to do her thing. We couldn't have been more content and satisfied with the home, the management, and especially the location and definitely home to return next year for another extended stay. Thank you Sarita for taking care of us and meeting our needs. See you again.

Beautiful views of the marsh with a very short walk to the beach access, beautiful views of the sunset over the marsh and river, and a quiet place to relax and rewind. The best part is that we could bring our 4-pawed family member, and the neighbors were very friendly. If a beachfront view isn't necessary, this is the perfect location. We loved being there and can't wait to return.

Sarita was a great host. Communication was great. Location is away from the downtown scene which keeps things quiet, but close enough for a short ride into town on a golf cart or bikes. Super easy walk to the beach, just two blocks. It’s right at the end of a quiet street. The marsh views were spectacular. The listing is accurate. It’s an older home that is dog friendly. Beds were comfortable and plenty of room to lounge. The only negative and reason for the 4 star was the kitchen needed a little deep clean, and the yard some clean up for safety concerns for kids and pets, but the host was made aware and very receptive to those suggestions. All in all we would totally stay here again. Great house and great value. Thanks Sarita!

I grew up in Charleston, and visiting Folly many times every summer. The location of this home is perfect for any family looking to enjoy all the wonder of the beach . . .while avoiding the the hustle. No crowds. No commercialism. No traffic. Just beach and privacy. Leave your front door, and you're on the sand in (literally) five minutes. Making a big deal about the basement's condition is pretty crazy. There's no need to go there, ever. If it bothers you, just stay in the house itself. It's cute, comfortable and cozy. We're already considering booking it again for next summer. Thanks for a great stay!

My husband and I stayed here for a week with my parents and two dogs. The house is huge and is beautiful. We were able to find everything that we needed to feel at home. The backyard was also very nice for our dogs to play in. The house is super close to the beach access and is close to town! The host is also very accommodating and personable. Spacious but worn and neglected
The location is quiet and close to the beach and about 10 blocks from the central restaurant and shop area. The interior of the house is relatively clean but very worn and in need of basic maintenance and updated furnishings. The beds are comfortable and the house is spacious for Folly. The exterior of the house and the garage are very messy, cluttered and not maintained. It would be nice to have some grass in the yard and have the weeds along the marsh cut to allow for a better view. Without a doubt the biggest detraction is the downstairs that is cluttered with all sorts of junk, including an old car, and is simply filthy. All of this being said, the owner is very kind and accommodating. If you are looking for a spacious rental for a reasonable price at Folly and are okay making a few trade-offs then this place is not a bad choice.

Great Getaway!
Our family stayed here for almost a week over Thanksgiving 2021, and enjoyed it thoroughly. It’s a fabulous house on a very quiet part of Folly, with a peaceful marsh view and a short walk to the beach. The kitchen was well-equipped for holiday cooking, with surprisingly well-stocked cupboards. The house is gorgeous, and set up nicely. Sarita was a great host, and very flexible. We’ll be back!

Folly Beach October Get Away
Folly Beach is a nice place to visit. It is conveniently located to Charleston and other quaint towns in the Charleston vicinity with site seeing places to go and explore. There is a nice downtown with many good restaurants. The beach is very nice and is a place where surfers can be seen riding the waves. The house is conveniently located two blocks from the beach and two miles from downtown. The owner was very accommodating.

Excellent stay
The place was close enough to the beach that we walked there several times a day. I even had coffee on the beach one morning. Plenty of room for the seven of us. And very serene. Far enough from the maddening crowd to have a peaceful stay but close enough to enjoy downtown Folly. The only thing was, and this was on us as we didn't look for it, but the property is not handicap accessible. But all in all, I would highly recommend it. Thank you Saritake.

Perfect location!!
Our week at Sarita’s lovely beach house was amazing! The location is awesome - super easy walk to the beach and very private on the back porches & patios, which are plentiful w/ beautiful marsh views. Screened porch is a must have in the low country & we used it daily. We cooked & ate most of our meals at the house due to Covid concerns and this kitchen is PERFECT for cooking while still socializing with the group. Overall, we had a great time and would stay again.

LOVED IT!
I’ve stayed in many rentals on Folly, but this home is my new favorite! It’s very nice, comfortable, and had all the amenities we needed for our stay. The views from the back decks/ porch were fantastic and we were just a few minutes (less than 5) from beach access. Beds were very comfortable, lots of “living” space to relax and enjoy after a day at the beach!!
Sarita Kennedy (host) was wonderful and responsive to any questions we had. We will definitely rent this home again!!

Folly Beach was fabulous!
This home is in the perfect location on Folly Beach. It’s at the end of a quiet street. The beach access is a very quick and easy walk. We loved looking out over the marsh from the balconies. The birds were so fun to watch in the mornings and the sunsets in the evening were spectacular. We even saw two buck deer in the marsh. The home is spacious and well designed. Folly Beach had plenty of restaurants and shopping. We especially loved running to Berts Market. The location is an easy drive to visit the sites of Charleston. If we return to this area we would love to rent this space again.
