About this house rental
This charming three bedroom is a great getaway with lots of antiques and country style. Located in walking distance from all the downtown conveniences and also has easy access to multiple trail systems. Bedrooms have one queen in one room, A queen in the other room and the last bedroom has a queen and a twin. For a total of four beds. House has a full kitchen and lots of space for guests. Leadville is not only home to enthusiastic snow bikers, it's also famous for its way-beyond-marathon races. The Silver Rush 50 Run is high-altitude madness: "Take on 50 miles of extreme territory that starts at 10,200 feet and reaches 12,000 feet four times." The best part? It prepares runners "for the pinnacle Leadville 100". Yes, that's a 100 mile-run in the high Rockies.Leadville's population balloons during these extreme running events. But at other times of the year, families can enjoy an uncrowded visit in this totally cool little town, that's the highest incorporated city in the U.S.
Leadville was a mining boom-town and is still graced with vintage buildings. Families who visit in winter can ski and board at the very affordable nearby Ski Cooper ski resort. There is a $25 pet fee.In the event of inclement weather (ex: heavy snow, etc.) we will not be able to help with any vehicle issues. We recommend using 4-wheel and All Wheel drive vehicles to get to the property during these times. This property is city street parking. The location will meet all your needs. License # 001380

Property is older which we knew and stayed there last year which we enjoyed and knew its an older property with corks but it seems to have gone down hill. Couch has holes with no padding in the back and beds where a bit to be desired but I can deal with the aesthetics. We had no hot water for almost 24 hours was told that maintenance had come by Friday evening while out for dinner which I was never informed when he would be coming to fix the hot water heater and they would come back Saturday (questioning the cleanest of the VRBO with no hot water from the time we got there) I was also informed of this information only after reaching out to the host about not having toilet paper that evening which she responded to me at 3:00 am on Saturday morning. We had a very nice maintenance guy who could not fix it but made sure a plumber came within an hour to fix it. Ran out of toilet paper at 10:00pm the first night we where there and had to run to the store to get some and no paper towels. Was told by host they would drop some by on Saturday morning and nobody showed. The oven felt hot the whole time like it was running but everything said off on the oven so not sure why it was heating up the kitchen when it was supposedly off so I was scared to even use it. This is the second time staying here and the last unless things improve and maintenance is done on this home.

Property is not maintained. Grass was 2 ft tall. No parking. You have to walk through rocky ditch to enter house. Sheets were dirty and double sheets on queen beds. Found dirty sock in one bed. Black mold on shower curtain. Listing wasn't as described on VRBO.
Washing machine hose drains into kitchen sink. Dusty and dirty!! This house is not VRBO worthy.

Kept us warm, safe and dry. Pay attention to listing because it has a TV but no Internet and no cable. It has a washer, but no dryer. But perfect for two old farts and three grandchildren.

We stayed in this VRBO in Leadville for one night. It was pleasant and served its purpose. This house was built in 1888 according to Zillow, and that's pretty cool. It's rather large for in town in Leadville (we visit often) and it was very spacious.
There is no WiFi, which was a little disappointing - even though it does say that in the listing, I never thought to look, because these days, WiFi is generally a given. It was fine though, since we were only there one night - but since I work online/remotely, it might have been an issue during a longer stay.
The home was very clean, which was great! The furniture is older but that's certainly part of the charm. It's all clean and comfortable.
There is only one heater (plus some space heaters) in the middle of the main level. We cranked it up pretty high though - on the suggestion of the host - and it really did actually heat the entire house pretty well. I was afraid we'd be cold upstairs, but it was fine. I slept great!
Stairs to upstairs are rather steep but there is a railing - just be careful. Again, it's an old house! There weren't a whole lot of dishes either, I noticed, but we didn't cook during our stay so that wasn't a big deal for us.
This is on a quiet street in a quiet part of Leadville but is close to everything. Easy parking. Lovely historic property with a lot of unique charm. I'd stay there again! I'd recommend it, just know that there are some quirks, but nothing terrible at all. I recommend it!

The house is rundown and old. It was clean though. The “grass” weeds, in the yard was three feet tall. Asked to have it mowed and the management company said they would try to have their guy come out. Then they replied he needed access to the electricity in the house because he only had an electric weed eater. Then the next day the guy could not come cause he went to the hospital. (Hope he’s ok.) There is no internet or TV, cable availability.

The house was advertised. We appreciated no WiFi and stayed off the electronics. Lisa the host was super fast to respond when we had a question. And easy to walk to downtown Leadville from the house

Our stay was fine, except for the neighbor, who obviously has an issue with being next to a BnB property. The listing should include something about the parking situation and maybe there wouldn’t have been an issue. Whatever you do, DO NOT park anywhere in the giant driveway on the right side of the house. It’s the neighbor’s and he won’t ask you to move himself, but instead will call the property manager to tell on you.
My cousin got there before us and parked in a spot on the side of the house because the front parking wasn’t as easy to unload from. My cousin parked there briefly and within minutes I was getting calls and texts from the property manager. The neighbor lied to her saying he couldn’t get out for work. He had plenty of space to get by. Either way, my cousin moved his truck right away, we weren’t trying to be any trouble.
Here’s the kicker. It snowed all night and I’d say we got about 8”. My husband went out to shovel us out and the neighbor was plowing his giant driveway. My husband waved at him and he glared back and continued pushing snow towards the front of the house where we were parked. We got back from snowboarding all day, and the neighbor had made a giant pile of snow right in the spot my cousin had parked before! He pushed it so far in the front of the house that we had to shovel a new path on the sidewalk.
This property is what it is, not terrible I guess for prices these days. But I wouldn’t stay here again because of the jerk neighbor.

Our family of 4 enjoyed our stay here. There was plenty of space for us to relax after skiing at Ski Cooper. The owner was responsive. The check-in process was simple.

Cute & quaint!! This house was perfect for me & my dogs I enjoyed only having DVD’s to watch! There was no wi-ifi (as advertised) and it was nice to just relax & disconnect from the fast & furious pace. Lisa was so helpful & was prompt when I had a question!!! The street is very quiet also!!!

Perfect for a weekend away to unplug and go skiing. Very charming and traditional property in Leadville. The host was quick to respond to questions.

This place was just like staying at my grandparents’ when I was a kid….
Even some of the same items. The house layout isnt very functional as it’s easy to see what was just added on over the years. The water pressure and heater were good and there were numerous places for a family to sleep. It was nice to have our family dog along but the fence didn’t fully enclose the yard so we couldn’t just let him out. The check in and out were easy and the host was responsive to an issue that occurred during our stay. It was a great location for town services and nearby skiing. Overall, a good value.

This little house was perfect for our needs and had lots of character. It feels like your grandmother's house. Nothing fancy about it, could use a remodel. But we liked it anyway!

We were staying in Leadville for a wedding and this rental was a great fit. The stairs to the two upstairs rooms are very steep (as it's an older house), otherwise it was a comfortable stay.

Like stepping back in time, very nice!
We had out doubts because other reviews say is outdated. Well it is! and it is GREAT!. Thus little house is like time traveling, however it is clean and well kept. The vintage and apparently original decor suits the overall feel for the town and the vacation, you really feel like everything just fits. Everything works, the place was clean and I loved every inch of the place. The stairs to the second floor are quite steep so I think this should be mentioned in the description, my father inlaw had to take the bedroom downstairs despite being the better suited for a couple, because we were affraid of an accident as he is in his late 70s, so be aware of this. The bathroom door gave us issues trying to close it properly but it was not a big deal. Our party consisted of 6 adults and 4 doggos and we were comfortable, warm and felt very safe. I thunk this place is underrated, it is not for people thinking $150 warrants a 5-star hotel, it is for the adventurous, for the positive minds and for those who enjoy the unexpected quirks of a tiny town in the mountains. 10 out of 10 from me 🙂

Classic Step Back in Time for a Great Price in a Great Location
The house is a little antiquated, but nonetheless a great place to stay with friends and dogs (pet friendly)! One bathroom to share in the back of the kitchen, but plenty of living space for you and your friends and family. Overall, a great place to stay for the price point,

If your into being disappointed, stay here.
I'm a family man with a wife 3 boys and 2 dogs trytng to get away. We chose this property to get away, it was a somewhat decent price, and dog friendly. Photos of the property show a fenced in back yard. We paid the pet fee and the cleaning fee required. Nearly 600 dollars for a 2 night stay. We arrive to an old house, which we expected, that seemed as if it hadn't been cleaned in weeks with large black trash bags outside on the back porch when we arrived and dog feces in the yard. No fenced in yard either. We go in to immediately smell propane in the kitchen and open a fridge with a busted door. It's amazing I was able convince my wife to stay. We started to bring everything in and my wife wanted to take a shower...... the tub was so clogged she had 12 inches of water at her ankles in 2 minutes. But we decided to try and make the best of everything. The amenities, carpet, furniture, kitchen, TV, lack of internet, drafty windows, dirty bed sheets were all part of the trip. Did we complain.... not a chance. Instead we made the best of it, stayed and contacted our host Lisa our morning of checkout to find out what we were required to do with the trash since 2 bags were left behind when we checked in. She said just leave them, no worries. We leave arrive home to an email that we are being charged an additional 200 dollars due to the fact that pet cleaning was required. According to Lisa we had never disclosed we were bringing pets and hadn't paid a pet fee. There was hair on the blankets..... when we pay a 99 dollar cleaning fee I would assume that bedding is cleaned in between guests.... I guess not here. Also, Lisa claims that there was dog urine on one of the beds and photos gave been provided to VRBO. I called Lisa just to have a conversation and she was rude and dismissive because according to her it was in VRBOS hands now. Enough said....

Due to weather the cleaning crew arrived late. But things were rectified promptly.
The dining room in this place has an open feel and great vibe. We spent most of our time there. On a sunny day you can look out the west facing window of that room and see Mt. Massive and Mt. Elbert.

Very rustic
The location was great, the house was roomy, and I liked that it was pet friendly. That said, the house was barely liveable otherwise. I left a day early. None of the light fixtures worked, only lamps. This meant that one had to stumble around in the dark until they found a lamp across the room. Coffee maker carafe broken, coffee maker clearly never cleaned. Not all doors closed completely. Only one room had a heater. Windows drafty and covered in plastic, curtains moved every time the wind blew. Uncomfortable using old stove with strong gasoline smell. Refrigerator inside partly broken.
