We had a great family Christmas at this location. Very relaxing with great beach access to Mama’s Beach.

This home was an ideal setting for four adults to visit a new grandchild who lives on Maui while enjoying Mama’s beach, accessible by a short walk, and the close proximity to Hookipa, Paia and Makawao. The lanai is beautifully furnished and very private, a perfect place to relax. Our host was very responsive to the few questions we had. We highly recommend this property.

I have a wonderful stay at this house. I love that I could be on one of the cutest beach on Maui just in 2 minutes walk. I also enjoy very much the outdoor sitting area where I could relax and have a cup of tea.

Loved our little Hawaiian house and living like a local in Kuau/Paia. Home is a nice combo of traditional Hawaiian but updated where it counts, AC worked well when we needed it but I loved the louvered glass windows to allow in all the cool trade breezes. The entire home is nicely decorated with all things Hawaiian in a chic and understated way. Landscaping was lovely and the daybed on the lanai saw several naps! The Kitchen was well stocked, great coffee in the morning and even doing laundry which is outside as is norm in Hawaii, still felt like a vacation. So nice to go home with clean clothes in your suitcase! Property is in quiet little neighborhood just east of Paia and at the start of the Road to Hana. You can see roof of Mama's Fish House from the yard, so close but yet so far if you didn't book lunch or dinner 6 months in advance. But not to worry there is so much good food in Paia and in the various food truck parks. Cute shops too and it just felt more island authentic than Kihei/Wailea area. Home was a great base to make treks up to Haleakala, down to Hana or exploring in Haiku/Makawao. This trip we did sunset at Haleakala which I liked better than the sunrise. Take the beach chairs from the house, some drinks and snacks and you have a comfortable wait for the sunset. We also appreciated all the beach towels and snorkeling equipment. Mama's beach is a short stroll and must see for sunset. Local manager was a pleasure to work with and checked in with us when needed.

While the house, location and property were all fantastic the best part of our stay was our interactions with the property manager and on-site manager. Both of these individuals were incredibly helpful and communicative. The on-site manager is a lovely individual and she helped our family navigate a more intimate and personal experience with the Island.

My family and I are not the type to go go go. It was nice to have such a lovely environment to come back to after we ventered out each day. On days when we were tired, we hung around the beautiful house, read one of the many books from their library or went to one of the nearby beaches 2-5 min from the house and watched the turtles or surfers and windsurfers. Eating out is very expensive in Maui so having a kitchen that we could stock and cook in was another definite plus. The house is fully stocked. They have shampoo, cond, hair drier, lotion, reef safe sunscreen, pots, pans, plates, silverware, tupperware, lots of towels, snorkeling gear, beach chairs. There is a washer and drier with detergent. I didn't need to bring anything and wished I had left a lot of stuff at home. There was a separate bedroom and bath for our teenager so he felt like he had some space. The property is beautifully landscaped with great family areas for hanging out and many private spots for when you want some time alone. We walked to Mamas Fish House for dinner. Get reservations! I suggest getting dramamine. It helps with car sickness along Hana highway, sea sickness if you go snorkeling and it helps a little with altitude sickness when visiting the volcano. The pharmacist said it should also help a little with allergies which was my experience as well. We really had a perfect stay and our time at this house was a big part of that.

Perfect house for our stay on Maui.

The house was perfect for our first time visiting Maui. Very comfortable for relaxing after a day of sightseeing and the beach. Kitchen was well stocked for cooking. Plenty of TP, shampoo, laundry soap, towels, snorkel gear, beach chairs and supplies. Beds were comfortable and the separate bedroom suite was perfect for two couples. The AC and ceiling fans were very nice. The barbecue grill was nice. We had an issue upon arrival and Kelly and Leah took care of it promptly which we were so grateful for! Close to the airport and never heard a plane fly over once since they take off miles down the road. Quiet neighborhood. The local Cafe Des Amis was delicious. The Tavares Beach was close by and had many turtles that we stopped by to watch from a distance. We would definitely recommend Hale Nanea!

Property was perfect for our family and I. Located not to far from the airport and the local businesses in Kahului made it very convenient. At the same time the drive to Hana was much shorter since we were already in the Paia town area.
Property had everything we needed and the property manager was very attentive. Would definitely recommend this property to any family looking to really experience the Hawaiian lifestyle! Mama's fish house a definite plus... a must visit while staying here.

Super sweet spot, The house is well cared for and nicely decorated. You can tell the owners use the property. Kitchen has everything you would need. Plenty of beach and snorkel stuff. Bad cell reception, but walk to the front of Mama's Resort Lobby and bingo, phone works! Very short walk to Mama's Beach that has turtles! Skip Mama's restaurant, so many other great options--Do go to the Farm to Table dinner at Maui Bee's-very fun and excellent food. Would we stay there again? In a heartbeat!

This house is great for family or a group of friends. It’s within a stone throw away from Mama’s Beach which is like your own private beach at times not to mention an amazing restaurant . The town of Paia is lesser known but cute with shopping and great food and people. The house fit all our needs and then some!

This place is the epitome of a Maui hana (home)! Nestled in a tiny cul de sac just behind Mama's beach and the famous fish house, it's an easy walk to the beach cove and not far from the more swimmable and accessible Baldwin Beach.
We loved our stay here and even snagged a walk up spot at the bar for a fabulous dinner at Mama's. (note- we tried for table reservations months in advance with no luck. checked in at 5:30pm on a Saturday and got lucky for bar seats).
They have all you need for some beach exploring- chairs, umbrellas and even snorkel gear to hit the nearby beaches. We opted for Baldwin (10 min away given Paia traffic) and enjoyed the closer Ho'okipa beach for some fun watching the surfers and seeing a ton of turtles.
If you're planning to hit the Road to Hana or catch the sunrise to Haleakala it's a great basecamp. And if you want to stay in a few nights, they have everything you need for making meals. We were a party of 2 so we had plenty of room. 2 couples or a small family would enjoy the space and not be too crowded.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house is adorable and really well stocked with towels, kitchen items and even snorkel gear! Very close to the best turtle beach on the island! Showers are good and the hot water lasts a long time. Very nice and cozy areas in the home to relax inside and out. Close to very cute artsy shops and restaurants. Only minor flaw was Wifi could have been a little better. Overall fantastic!

Our family had a wonderful stay in this sweet home by Mama’s beach. The location is perfect and we very much appreciated the well stocked kitchen, plenty of linens and towels, beach gear, great indoor and outdoor living spaces, comfy beds, and ease of communications. Thank you!

Loved the area with walking distance to a beautiful cove with crystal clear water, we even saw tons of sea turtles!! House was clean, beds were comfortable and there was everything available to head to the beach. My only one thing that needs improvement is the wi-fi we had a terrible time connecting to watch tv or get on our phones.

House was amazing and well equipped with everything you need and extra on vacation: beach chairs, snorkel gears and cooler. Very serene and close to the beach where my kids walk by themselves every day. One of the best VRBO places we stayed at. Plenty of room for my family to stretch out after a long day of excursions.

Perfect family vacation spot. Walking to what seems like your private beach which is a sea turtle sanctuary was fantastic. The house is magnificent. Very clean, spacious, comfortable, convenient location, parking in the driveway, outdoor shower, etc. etc. Separate private living space for grandparents was a plus. Mama's Fish House across the street. Don't have reservations. Just go and ask for a time. Worked for us. Highly recommend this home to any and all. Thank you for a memorable family vacation. Mahalo

We are sad to leave this wonderful Maui vacation home. The location and space was perfect for our family of four adults. spacious lanai and common living area inside. Very short walk to mama’s beach, which is uncrowded and relaxing. Very convenient to driving road to Hana and hiking trails throughout the island. Short walk to espresso and small grocery store/deli. I highly recommend for a relaxing vacation.

Had a wonderful week in this delightful house situated minutes from a small secluded beach frequented daily by turtles. Central location with easy access to all areas of the island and if you love Windsurfing, or any water sports for that matter, this is the place to stay!

This lovely well-appointed home in Paia was truly fantastic. We travel a good deal and this is our favorite rental home yet anywhere. It has everything a traveler needed (from towels to spices) and was perfectly located close to an idyllic beach with sea turtles. Check in was super easy and the manager was very available. She even saved my child's life. Just by chance, the manager was visiting the same beach as located near the home when my son swam too far out and was getting caught in a rip tide. The manager swam out to help and organized others at the beach to rescue him. So--not only is the rental itself amazing--it's supported by the best management! We will definitely return.

“Until we meet again” We loved the location and amenities this adorable house offered us. We do not like the rat race of touristy areas so this spot was perfect for our group. It was me and my husband, our teenage daughters and they each brought a friend. The teens had the main house and my husband and I had the separate bedroom around the side. It was like our own little suite. Absolutely perfect for our family. The house is well stocked and the Managers were very responsive. I would recommend this spot for anyone who wants to experience Maui away from the craziness but also easily get to all the destinations they desire.

This property was the perfect fit for our family!! From the location, to the Aloha feel, to the friendliness of the staff it was a most perfect place to stay! Away from the tourist resorts. Steps to a private beach visited daily by the turtles. We will definitely be back!!! Mahalo and Aloha!!

We are really pleased that we chose to stay in this home. The size was perfect for our family of 5, with three of them being 21,18 and 16. We loved the feeling of spaciousness it gave us, privacy, easy access to all parts of the island and a very short 5 minute drive to the cool funky vibe of Paia. There is a grocery store easily reached for nice dinners on the patio. And a lovely morning walk for cappuccino or afternoon poke at the Ka’au General Store quickly became a favorite. Enjoyed the easy walkable path to the small but beautiful Mama’s beach, with the expansive Baldwin Beach a short drive away for swimming. Laundry came in handy, kitchen was well equipped. Relaxed less touristy and definitely our vibe.

My husband and I and my parents stayed at this perfect house for five nights. At least three of the nights we used the outdoor dining area for cooking or takeout and loved being able to catch up in the most cozy environment and then crash on the comfy beds after a long day. We had plenty of space, everything we needed and the most perfect location. Paia is lovely and we definitely took advantage of being right next to Mama’s Fish House. Everyone else drives an hour to get to it but we walked a few steps over. The sheets are soft, the AC units are so nice and the washer and dryer was super helpful before packing up our suitcases and heading to Kauai. We loved this house and were sad to leave.

Beautiful authentic Hawaiian bungalow! From the covered lanai, breezy plantation windows and proximity to the beach, it was a relaxing comfortable property. The home and yard was well maintained and thoughtfully stocked. The separate master suite was great for privacy and the main house provided plenty of room for meals and evening gatherings. We especially loved walking to MaMas beach and hanging out with the resident turtles! Kelly made us feel welcome and made sure we had all our needs met. We loved the town and healthy food culture promoted by a lot of local produce and products. We enjoyed fresh daily coconut water, straight from the source and bananas from the yard, provided by the gardener. We will miss waking up each morning to a beautiful sunrise and the sound of the birds...such a beautiful place. Thank you for a great stay and wonderful memories!

Everything about our stay was perfect! The home is clean, very nice and well stocked with everything you will need for a fun North Shore Maui vacation. There are two bedrooms in the house and one bed/bath with a separate (but attached) entrance. This layout was absolutely perfect as we were traveling with my parents who had their own separate space. The home is directly adjacent to a gorgeous ‘baby beach’ and behind Mama’s Restaurant (the best restaurant on the island in my opinion). I would 100% recommend this rental to anyone looking for a more low-key, relaxing Maui experience. Mahalo!

The house in Pa’ia was great, we loved everything about it. It was well equipped, beautifully decorated and in a convenient location. We would definitely stay here again when we (hopefully) visit Maui in the future and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a cool house in a quiet part of the island. Many thanks to our hosts, their hospitality was top notch!
