About this house rental
Sunbathe with privacy on the rooftop terrace and cool down in the rooftop pool with its treetop view of the mangrove jungle. Casa Perros Afortunados (House of the Lucky Dogs) is a refurbished 3,000 sf private house in the quaint fishing village of Puerto Morelos, Mexico just 25 minutes from the Cancun airport.
A short stroll to the beach or a four minute walk to the restaurants and shops around the town square. Puerto Morelos is still a colorful and traditional village with neighborhood roosters, local street produce stalls and fishermen selling their fresh catch. The house has three bedrooms and three bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms are identical master suites on the second floor, each with high quality king-sized beds, full bathrooms, and large balconies. The fully-equipped kitchen is large with peninsula seating, and includes a five burner gas stove with griddle. The second floor also features a Media Room with a smart TV, satellite service, DVD / VHS player, and comfortable lounge seating. The third bedroom, on the main floor, has one king-size bed, large windows, and an adjacent full bath. A covered patio overlooks the rear garden and includes an outdoor ping pong table.
Puerto Morelos offers an amazing array of activities: dive or snorkel along the coral reef (a protected national park and part of the world's second largest coral reef), sport fishing in the Caribbean, massages, biking, golfing, beautiful underground cenotes with crystal clear water, or short drives to shopping and nightlife in Cancun or Playa del Carmen.

We brought both sets of our parents down with us for the first time and they had a wonderful time. The house was perfect in every way. Within walking distance to all our favorite things and plenty of local wildlife to engage with. I would highly recommend this place for anybody with a group size from 5 to 6 people.

This property was everything we were looking for! Walkable to everything, comfortable rooms with two masters and an amazing rooftop where we enjoyed each morning and night! Will be staying here again! Roberto was a fantastic house manager

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is perfect for a group of 6 and is in a great location. The beach, restaurants and shopping are all short walks. There is a fantastic breakfast place about 100 feet away and a little shop with snacks and drinks right across the street. The furniture is comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked. The dining table is large enough for everyone to dine together or play games, and the rooftop terrace is wonderful with covered seating, a bar and a small pool. The back courtyard is also pleasant and the ping pong table was a lot of fun. There are a lot of excellent restaurants on the next street over and a modern, well stocked grocery store a few blocks away.

We had a wonderful time at this house with my two adult daughters and their significant others. I love the decor of this home. It was so nice to go to the beach club (unico) and then return home to this lovely place. The pool was a nice bonus. We felt comfortable contacting the owner for any concerns. I love the location. Just steps away from a nice bar/restaurant… and being across the street from the convenience store was very “convenient” :-)… the owners of the SIX(convenience store) were sweet people. Definitely recommend staying here. It was fun to get to know some of the local people.

This large 3-bedroom home is walking distance to everything. The kitchen is large and well equipped, and there's a private plunge pool on the roof. But the best feature for us was having two huge king master suites since we were there with another adult couple. That's a very rare commodity for vacation rentals. And Russ, the owner/manager, is top notch! You won't find a better host to deal with, believe me. We highly recommend this property.

Loved the space! Great open concept on the main floor. Bedrooms are spacious. Terrace and small pool on the roof - very cool. And a ping pong table for some friendly competition, so fun!

Just up the street from the beach of Puerto Morelos this house stands as one of the nicest properties in the whole area. I researched for like a week before I picked it.. Nicest house in Puerto in my honest opinion. Am already booking for next year.

This was our first time staying in Puerto Morelos. We have had day visits in the past. The location is ideal for walking around the entire town. The space for the seven adults was also perfect. Loved spending time on the roof top and playing ping pong..
The kitchen provided everything we needed to prepare meals.
Lucio responded to all my messages within minutes as well as any requests we had. Russell the owner as well was very helpful with recommendations and was quick to reply even when on Safari!!
We would definitely return again.

Great house, great location
House is very much as advertised. Two or three short blocks from the beach -- maybe a three-minute walk, tops. Beds are comfortable and AC units cool rooms quickly. Rooftop bar and pool catch a good breeze. We had a minor hiccup with the water shutting off, but Lucio came over quickly and fixed it within an hour. Lots of good restaurants are an easy walk. We rented a car, which we parked off street in the courtyard without incident, and which gave us easy access to restaurants on the colonia side of town, which were also very good and much cheaper. Puerto Morelos is a great place to visit, and the snorkeling in particular was awesome.

Puerto Morelos holiday
We stayed at this house for 9 days at the end of March and we all feel fortunate to have had the opportunity! The house was spacious and comfortable. It was beautifully finished with lots of gorgeous wood trim and whimsical decor. We would start our day with coffee and croissants from the Bellville bakery listening to all the birds on the back patio and end our afternoon having Happy hour and a dip in the pool on our rooftop patio. The location was good too. Quiet but close to good restaurants, the beach, and town square. Thanks Russ l hope we can return again soon!!!

Amazing House
We just returned from a month at this property and we miss it already. The house is beautiful and very comfortable. Lucio the manager was always so very helpful if we needed anything. Russ the property owner was prompt with all correspondence before and during our stay. The air conditioner in our bedroom wasn't working, it was replaced within a few days, very timely. The house is well equipped with everything you need. We loved it so much we've already rebooked.

Lucio the grounds keeper was extremely helpful and kind!!! We can not wait to book our next trip. Thank you Mr Russell for allowing us to share your home.

Adorable property with plenty of space and amazing location!
Russ was super nice from the start, recommending transfer services and car rentals that we never would have found ourselves. The property was super clean and well furnished and the ac pumped COLD - it was perfect after walking the block or two to dinner (literally) and coming back. Amazing location. We spent most of our evenings on the roof but - beware - pack LOTS of bug spray. I should’ve used more and that’s my fault, but there are tons of mosquitoes because - well, you’re right next to the jungle. We enjoyed both Louis’ friendliness and recommendations and his wife who cleaned once while we were there. Seriously the only negatives I can come up with are - mosquitos (which will be everywhere) & there was only one tv in the middle sitting area on the second floor. We watch lots of tv when hungover - but it didn’t matter bc everything was in Spanish anyway. Great place and seemed much larger than in the pics! Will rent again!

Perfect getaway walking distance from the beach
Booked this for my birthday weekend and it couldn’t have been more perfect! The property was exactly as pictured but the location was even better! Short walk to the beach with amazing restaurants and lots of activities!
We brought our own snorkeling gear and went off the beach and we did a tour of the reef as well (lighthouse tours) which was a short walk to the pier!
The house had everything ! Full kitchen, beach towels, a pool and bar on the roof (lovely for morning coffee)! Very quiet area and we had friends who had never visited Mexico and it was a treat!
So many people speak English so easy to get around if your not bilingual.
10/10 booking this house again !!
Internet was spotty at times but hey, not there to be online anyways!

The spacious house was better than we imagined. We loved the pool, well supplied kitchen, and the balconies. The caretaker, Lucio, was available and helpful. We will definitely be back.

We had an absolutely wonderful time in this house. It was perfectly suited for our family of five adults. Plenty of space, supernice kitchen and living area. Extremely confy beds. Top terrace was a favorite spot for us all. This is definately the place to stay on the Riviera Maya if you want a place to feel like a home. Great location, close to beach and center.

Amazing vacation amidst global pandemic!!!
We were the first guests to stay at this casa, and some of the first visitors to come to puerto Morelos after their reopening on June 8! We were unsure about the time we had decided to travel, but all qualms were erased the second we arrived. Russell was very on top of making sure we were situated with our reservation. And the home manager, Lucio, was so amazingly kind and helpful from the moment we arrived. Lucio got us on a fishing tour with a reliable company within minutes of our arrival, and our trip took off from there. Not only is this an amazing house (WITH A/C!!!) with an amazing location, but the warm and friendly hosts made it home for us immediately. We also made some major human errors along the way, and Russell and Lucio helped us in every way possible. I will recommend this town and stay to all of my friends for years to come!!!

Never want to leave that rooftop!
Wow wow wow. Everything about our stay was incredible. The house is amazing and the rooftop views are just stunning. You really feel like you're in a jungle while you're sitting in the pool!
Can't imagine a better location - so close to so many restaurants and the beach!
Only complaint was the construction next door, which Russ & Leanna really don't have control over.

Casa perros afontunados
We were the fortunate humans that got to call this place home for 4 weeks. Where do I start? Lucio the caretaker is the best and so helpful. The house is absolutely beautiful and so comfortable. The location is just a short walk to the beach and to all the restaurants. The owners have thought of everything to make your stay here perfect! We will be back.

Very Relaxing Home
We love staying at this home in Puerto Morelos. A car is not needed to get to dining, the beach, or the grocery store. The restaurants are reasonably priced, and there are a lot to choose from. The beach has soft white sand, is expansive, and the water is clear. A great place to stay!

Great location, privacy for everyone in our large group.
Our stay at Casa Perros was beyond enjoyable. It was within minutes of restaurants, shopping, and the beach. We never used transportation except for excursions (unless you were to venture to the colonial side). The bedrooms are all separated, with two having private bathrooms and one on its own floor so privacy was at a premium. Everything from the rooftop deck and pool, fully stocked kitchen, air-conditioned bedrooms, ping-pong table, and separate living areas made for a comfortable and entertaining stay. Lucio and his family are part of the fabric of the house. You won't notice they are there if you want privacy but if there is anything you need they are available with recommendations for restaurants, where to get things like fresh juice, setting up excursions or advice on transportation, or simply keeping the house and grounds pristine. Russ was a huge help with numerous questions leading up to our stay and always very patient and responsive. The town of Puerto Morelos itself is the biggest draw but Casa Perros made our visit feel like home and that much more difficult to leave.

Canadian family of seven loved Casa Perros Afortunados
We were looking for a quiet place for our geographically-dispersed family to meet for Christmas and Casa Perros did not disappoint! Our family loves to cook, so your place was perfect - large, well-equipped kitchen allow several of us to get involved at one time. The addition of a kettle (we are tea-loving Canadians) would be welcomed.
The overall layout of the home is great with lots of room. We spent most evenings on the rooftop terrace that benefitted from a lovely warm breeze.
The location, being a 5 minute walk from a beautiful beach and several great restaurants and taco places as well as 10 minutes from a modern and well-stocked supermarket, was perfect! Also, within a block is a wonderful fresh fruit market that sells really good fresh squeezed fruit juices.
Some suggestions: the two bikes advertised need significant repair or replacement as they didn't work (tires valves broken); it would be helpful to know on arrival what the drill was for garbage pickup and separation of bottles/cans and where they go. Also, we were unsure of bottled water replacement.
Overall, Casa Perros was very comfortable and Russ and Lucio were very attentive in addressing our questions and requests.
On another note, through the local taxi community we were put in touch with Noé Ramos (+52 1 998 231 6348) who took our family in his large van on a day-long tour to the Mayan ruins in Tulum, the Cava Tortuga cenotes and a wonderful beach restaurant in Akumal. Highly recommend him.

LOVED THIS HOUSE!
The layout is amazing — main floor entertaining space and middle floor bedrooms with a cozy lounging space plus the super rooftop deck! We played ping pong and enjoyed the jungle views. We heard and saw wildlife and felt very safe. We even enjoyed the rooster next door! You can’t beat the location for walking to dinner or the beach quickly! Minutes (walking) from everything we love about PR!!! Thank you!!

Our Home Away from Home
We absolutely love staying at Casa Perros. It is peaceful, well equipped, and such a relaxing home. It has a calming effect that we really enjoy. The pool is lovely and the upper patio is where we spend most of our time. This visit we both napped on the couches enjoying the breeze. The rooster is a crack up! He’s such a character! There are several wonderful restaurants within walking distance. The neighbors are friendly. There is a great grocery store that has a lot of food and beverage selections and their prices are very reasonable. Luciano manages the property and is easy to reach and very sweet! The owners have done a very nice job with the decorations and accommodations. And, they are also very easy to contact! And, the ocean is just a 5 minute walk! I highly recommend Casa Perros for your next stay in Puerto Morelos!

Excellence
We cannot say enough good things about this property, its owners and the local manager. This was our second visit and it was even better than the first. It’s just a class-act operation overall. The house is beautiful, close to everything, impeccably clean, and set up perfectly for vacationing. The owners are gracious, responsive, detail oriented, and very professional while still being laid back and friendly. The onsite manager and his team are a text message away and maintain the property like it’s a resort. We hosted two friends from NY on this visit and they fell in love with casa perros afortunados and Puerto Morelos. Looking forward to returning in the near future. It’s like having all the advantages of your own vacation home without any of the headaches that come with ownership. A+ all around.

Wonderful!!
This house is wonderful. Three of us that stayed for five nights on a girls trip in May. The home is well equipped throughout; kitchen to the rooftop lounge. It is located close to the to the town square and 2 blocks from the beach. The bedrooms & bathroom were lovely. By far the best part is the rooftop. We spent the majority of time there, hanging out in the sun and shade for meals & cocktails. The layout is well thought out and the the pool is a nice and welcome addition. This place is worth every penny, you wil love it!

We loved this house!
Comfortable, well-equipped house. It lives up to the beauty of the posted photos. The owner is very responsive and pleasant to deal with. Mosquitoes (or some other biting bug were a problem for us) and the handsome rooster next door was a pain in the arse. Ear plugs and bug dope are both good ideas. The beds were comfortable, the house is well kept and the family who does cleaning and caretaking were lovely. The kitchen was amazing. So well-equipped. We did a fair bit of cooking. We loved the roof top deck with its little splash pool which is great for cooling down on days when the water at the beach is too rough.
I love Puerto Morelos and this house is very well located. The street is full of lovely food vendors. The fresh squeezed orange juice and the rotisserie chickens from down the street are superb. There is a small family run tortilla factory and a family business that features fried fish that are both outstanding. It's a very short walk to everything you need to have a wonderful time in Puerto Morelos.

Perfect for our family of 5
The house is ideally located just a few blocks from the beach and from downtown. Two rooms on second floor were spacious with king beds and the bedroom on the first floor was a bit smaller but worked well. The media room on the second floor was perfect for lounging and was used as a fourth bedroom for one of the kids. Kitchen and living area spacious with a ping pong table out back. The most used area of the house was the top floor bar and lounge area that had a dipping pool. A nice change after the sand on the beach. Very secure and safe. Property Manager Lucio, his wife and his father did a great job. Home was clean and beautiful with everything you needed for an extended stay. We have stayed on the beach and on the Colonia side, but this was our best stay yet. The produce stands and tortilla bakery down the street were wonderful. Thank you for a great visit.

Great location, great space
We took a quick trip with two adults and two teens and this place had elbow room for everyone. We joked that we could have brought more people. The rooftop pool is a great amenity and the house is stocked with all sorts of necessities from cooking (pots, pans, some food staples) to enjoying a day at the beach (umbrella, chairs, mats.) Loved having access to the bikes to explore (a lock would have made it even better to eliminate worry!). Close to everything. Lucio was so friendly and helpful— not that we needed a thing. The rooster didn’t even bother us! We will be back.

The property was absolutely beautiful just like the pictures. Kitchen was fully equipped. Everything very clean. Located minutes from everything. Beds were very comfortable. We can’t wait to book again for next year.
