Our wonderful cottage is located just steps from the pristine white sand beaches on Molokai's west end. We have stunning ocean and sunset views of Kepuhi Beach even from inside the cottage.
The cottage is in one of the 8 duplex type larger units in Kepuhi Beach Resort. It is a side by side unit with a private entrance and lanai.
Molokai is a quiet island that is only a short flight from the islands of Oahu or Maui. You won't find a more private, beautiful paradise in this resort or most resorts in Hawaii, especially this close to the ocean!
Our guests are blown away by the spectacular ocean views and surf sounds. The spacious lanai is shaded and wind protected, both perfect for relaxing and dining. Beautiful Kepuhi Beach offers a great surf spot in the winter months, and a calm, snorkeling and swimming spot in the other months. No driving necessary to enjoy watching surfers, spotting whales or green sea turtles, monk seals or beach combing.
For parties of 2-4 people, this spacious cottage provides the all the comforts of home to meet your vacation needs.
Featuring island decor, it has a casual open interior layout with a spacious kitchen, dining area, and living area with high ceilings, and a flatscreen television.
The lovely large private master bedroom has a sliding wall to separate it from the living area or can be open for full cottage and ocean breezes. Enjoy the ocean view from the California King bed.
A large separate double vanity area and huge mirrored closet has room for your clothing, luggage and the beach chairs, cooler and pool toys.
The bathroom is separate from the vanity with a pocket door for privacy, a toilet, a standing shower, and new full-size stacking washer and dryer for your convenience.
A spiral stair takes you to the generous loft bedroom with a queen size bed and open views of the cottage.
There are ventilated screens and ceiling fans throughout the cottage, as no AC is available in this resort.
The great room opens to the oceanfront covered lanai with dining and lounging furniture provided.
The kitchen is well stocked with all your cookware, utensils, crockpot, rice cooker, blender, coffee maker and dining needs.
We provide beach towels, beach chairs, beach bag and a cooler. There is a small convenience store just beyond our parking lot with food , souvenirs and sundries. It is conveniently open from 9am til 5 pm daily.
Kepuhi Beach Resort was built in the late 70's. It used to be a Sheraton Resort with a golf course, restaurant, and several buildings that were never occupied given the small tourism trade on the island. Since the mid 2000's an active homeowners group of about 150 units have maintained the privately owned individual units and the pool, with community grills and picnic tables in the courtyard area. The property landscaping around the active units are well maintained by our staff. Despite the unused portions of the old resort, the incredible beauty of this area so very close to the ocean is what makes it such a special place to visit.
Come stay with us! You simply will not find a more wonderful island vacation retreat on Molokai!

It’s a lovely cottage and is well supplied, however, the cottage needed to be cleaned. There was dust as well as lots of dead bugs on most of the tables. Also, even though there was usually a wonderful breeze, we weren’t able to take advantage of it to cool the house because most of the doors leading out to the lanai were either painted shut (exterior doors) or didn’t work (the bottom rows of windows) which made for some uncomfortable days. Despite the issues above, my husband, daughter and I had a good time. Probably the one most exciting thing we found was that the old building down on the beach that blocked the views was gone!! We had heard that it was supposed to be demolished at some point but we couldn’t find any info that it was gone. Now the cottages have unobstructed views of the ocean. Game changer!
Kathy, all the renovation work you had done was lovely.

Great property! Would reserve again
Great location and proximity to the beach! Great view from the back porch and convenient to the pool and store! I would definitely reserve again! And when I locked myself out, the owner sent her cleaner asap to help me get back in! So great!

The house was equipped with everything we needed, there even were a new washing machine and dryer including detergent.
The best thing was to see and hear the ocean so close by. The beach resort around it is mostly run down, but the cottage is a jewel within. There even was a pool and a small store in the vicinity.
For our family of 4 it was the perfect getaway on this lovely quiet island.

Fantastic Oceanside condo
Fantastic oceanfront condo on Molokai. Perfect amenities. Complete with ice packs, cooler bags, beach chairs, towels. Lanai had great views and nice patio furniture. Washer and dryer were very handy. Adequate amount of fans and windows that open to get air flow. We loved our stay and couldn’t have asked for a better vacation spot. Access to pool and several beaches. We could see surfers and axis deer and turkeys daily. The area used to be a fully functional resort but now many buildings are vacant and forlorn looking. However there is still some activity but minimal tourists. Great secluded place with a general store within walking distance by the pool if you forgot any basic essentials.

Lovely beachside location
Molokai is not for everyone, but for a chill time on a lively bit of beach, this place is perfect. The kitchen is outfitted better than the average — a good thing since it is 20 minutes to the nearest restaurant. The lenai is perfect and catches the ocean breezes. Bed and sitting area are comfortable. Wi-Fi is reliable. We had a very nice time. The setting is slightly weird in that the surrounding resort is halfway abandoned, but our eyes were definitely focused beachward.

The view!!
Just a lovely cottage. The view and proximity to the beach is very, very hard to find. The cottage has everything you need to include beach chairs and towels so you are in the water on day one. Lots of birds to view and easy walking distance to neighboring beaches. Host was very responsive and communication was great.

Ocean front condo
Beautiful location just steps away from the beach. Prettiest beaches on Molokai but better for surfing than swimming. Nicely appointed accomodations although we were surprised no shampoo was provided. Fortunately there is a little store open in the development which carries most everything renters might need.

Wonderful Molokai beach cottage.
Our first time to Molokai and we rented and stayed at this cottage. My sister and brother-in-law rented a second condo and we spent all our time together in this cottage. Wow - what a view! Such a wonderful place to relax and enjoy from sunrise to sunset. Well equipped kitchen, a minute to the pool or the beach. Loved every minute spent there and will be back again!

Beautiful!
Great location to the beach/beaches! Cottage is wonderful and the view is amazing. Seconds from beach and short walk to many more. If a quiet beach vacation is what you are looking for, with the occasional drive into town, this is it.

Returning customer!!
I’ve been renting this property annually for years now. I always return because it never disappoints. To my wonderful surprise it seems that they did a bunch of renovations that only makes the stay more enjoyable. I will definately be returning again next year and for many more years to come.

Magic on Molokai
My wife and I had a magical experience while staying here and on Molokai. Molokai is not a typical Hawaiian island or tourist destination but if it is your style, stay here!! A little further from town, the privacy of amazing beaches, few people and plenty of natural beauty is worth the drive. While in town, we had great experiences scuba diving, renting bikes and dining out.
The owners are great and are very responsive and the home provides all the conveniences that make a stay very relaxing!
Good people, great place, amazing memories!! Big thanks and we hope to return again!!

Kepuhi Cottage
This is our absolute favorite place to stay on Molokai. It’s on a quiet corner of the complex with a beautiful view. Close as it gets to the ocean! We were able to fish at night and see & hear the poles from the condo lanai. The home itself is well equipped. Everything we needed was there from cooking gadgets to beach equipment. We lovingly call the view from the living room, bedroom and lanai the Surf Channel and could sit and watch all day long. Left feeling blissed out and relaxed. I highly recommend this cottage to anyone seeking a little slice of paradise at the Kepuhi Beach Resort.

Amaaaazing location and views!!
This was our first trip to Molokai and our very best Hawaiian vacation ever after having visited all of the other islands multiple times. It simply defies belief that there is a place this beautiful that is not overcrowded! We chose to take in a few of the islands activities like snorkeling, a culture hike, sea kayaking, and boating to the inaccessible north side of the island. But honestly it was difficult to make the choice to leave the beautiful shady lanai with the sound of breaking waves and incredible sunrise and sunset views. There are stunning beaches to walk and swim in just in front of the house but also to the north and south of the location. There is a small store on site that will cover almost any need in pinch, and a lovely pool with swaying palms and a view of the ocean. You will have all this to share with only a handful of other people. It was heaven for us! But if you are looking for high end shopping, restaurants, and luxurious marble swathed lobbies, this is not your place. It is remote, and shares the same grounds as an old Sheraton that was shut down long ago. But the cottage itself is well appointed in terms of kitchen gear and art, and was very homey and comfortable for the three of us. We are already planning our next trip back as I am not sure I want to stay anywhere else in Hawaii.

Best place on the island
This was our second time staying in this cottage over five years. We absolutely love it. The owners take great care of it. We think it has the nicest view. 100% recommended!

Enjoyed Our Stay
After a little hiccup getting the correct access code to get in, we enjoyed our time at this location. The property manager was very helpful and responded when things came up. My family surfs and Kepuhi beach was breaking the week we’re there so that was perfect for us. We really enjoyed our stay.

Best view on the island
Loved that the cottage is a 30 second walk to the surfing beach. The large lanai was the best place to watch the waves. Very private, comfortable and spacious.

Special place away from it all
Having been to the Hawaiian islands 7 times, we were ready to explore the path less traveled and we're glad we did. The cottage has a great Hawaiian feel with lots of island style decor, is very well appointed with anything you'd need and the ocean view is fantastic. (There was an temporary orange safety fence visable from the lanai. I think it is around the area where a building was recently removed and they are trying to grow grass now). The areas in the front and back are well manicured, inviting and well lit at night Our favorite spot was the lanai and it's better than the picture shows since the tile floor was installed. Inside is airy and breezy. There is no air conditioning. Yes, it would've been nice but the breezes and fans made it ok. Sleeping was no problem. (Electricity is very expensive in Hawaii and we were outdoors at the warmer times anyway). The beach is really amazing although the water may be a little rough for some swimmers. We did enjoy some fantastic days there - cooler and beach chairs provided! The pool area is great also. There were times where we had it all to ourselves and the ocean views from there were second to none. We especially enjoyed walking the grounds around sunset.
As for the overall resort: yes, there are numerous abandoned buildings and lots of the windows are boarded or are dirty (ocean mist + dust + breezes), there were some visible pieces of heavy equipment (backhoe, skid steer) on site. There is a general store on site, which we were thankful for, that sells basic groceries (no alcohol) and souveniers. During the daytime, we always saw groundskeeping and maintainance so the areas were being kept.
My review is for the cottage itself which is truly a special place, and for my experience with the owner/manager - excellent communication and fast to respond to any concerns. Do your research and if you want to get away from it all and enjoy a peaceful Hawaiian experience, I definitely recommend this cottage.

We love staying in this condo which has an amazing oceanfront location, is spacious, clean & well appointed! The best condo in the Kaluakoi/Kepuhi Beach resort!

Perfect location to get away from it ALL.
First of all I've been coming back every year for many years now to this rental and there is reason for this. From the check in to check out everything was just as expected. Home was clean and stocked. All supplies and aplliances that we needed was availible. Beds were clean and confortable, bathrooms were clean also. A big plus was the afternoon shade. The patio is always in the shade even during the mid afternoon sun. Its always cool and the trade winds were there to help. Do I recommend this property for rent? Yes. Will I be back next year? Yes

We had a fabulous stay at Cottage 1B on Molokai! The view from the lanai is stunning and quickly became our favorite place to relax. The cottage is very clean and cozy. The kitchen is well equipped. Beach towels are available as well as beach mats and chairs. The decor is beautiful and the beds and bedding are very comfortable. We highly recommend staying at Cottage 1B on Molokai!

Cozy cottage right on the ocean
We recently had a wonderful stay in Cottage 1B in Maunaloa. It was recently updated and had everything we needed. The kitchen area is spacious and the furniture is very comfortable. It doesn't matter which bedroom you sleep in, you can hear the waves. Of all the cottages in this area this one is closest to the ocean--about 100 feet. For those of us from landlocked states, that was incredible. We found we sometimes even had the beach to ourselves. It's a fabulous place to vacation and I'd go there again in a heartbeat.

Views from the lanai are stunning. Unit is very clean, full of amenities and a great spot to explore trails to various beaches on the west end. Loved it.

perfect to unplug from the world
we absolutely loved our stay here!
the cottage provided all the comforts from home including a well equipped kitchen.
the views from the lanai are stunning and the breeze makes it a comfy spot to lounge and relax.
i was a bit surprised by the lack of AC but the winds and fans kept us comfortable and it was not an issue, even for sleeping at night. the resort is not running at full capacity but that just made it better for us as we were seeking privacy and quiet time. the grounds are kept meticulously and the onsite staff has been nothing but friendly and helpful.
it would be nice to have a screen door at the lanai to keep mosquitoes out but it wasn’t a big issue.
we did notice a few not so nice bugs during our last couple days, not a big deal for us, but it may just be time for a spray.
i would come back here in a heartbeat.

Great condo on an awesome Island!
Everything as advertised. Best stocked kitchen we’ve stayed in yet, lots of dishes, pots, pans, coffee maker, etc. like being home. Clean and no issues with critters! Lanai looks right out on the ocean. Quiet island, plenty of exploring to do and just relax. Most of the units were set back, definately want to grab this one for the beach view.

Absolutley the best cottage on the west side
This is going to be my go to cottage every year when visiting Molokai. The inside is perfectly furnished with a total of 3 beds to sleep on. Restrooms were clean and available washers and dryer to clean your clothes. The kitchen was well stocked with common goods and items.
A very important part of the cottage that I enjoyed was something that most people don't think here on Molokai. During the day its gets hot there on Molokai, the patio stays fully shaded the whole day and the trades winds blow straight on there. It has a beautiful view from the patio of the ocean and the surf break.
I would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone visiting this beautiful island.

A beautiful, relaxing place to stay!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful cottage at Kepuhi Beach! The cottage was recently remodeled with very comfortable furnishings, beautiful pictures and wall art. The kitchen and bathroom are nicely appointed. The view of the ocean is spectacular! We loved to eat our meals outside while we listened to the waves crashing on shore and watched the birds. We will come back!

Some Ups and Downs
We recently stayed at this unit after a week long wedding event in Kauai.
We have been to the islands many time but never to Molokai. While I had read previous reviews of the "vacant" buildings nearby, I was unprepared to actually see just how dilapidated these buildings are. It was dark when we arrived so I'll touch on these later. There is a small parking area and a short path to get to this unit. There is a rusted, run down fence around this area. But knowing that we would be close to the beach, we forged on. Once inside the unit we had to deal with a large island roach crawling up the living room wall and another scurrying around inside the shower stall.
Once my husband took care of them, he then had to deal with a rodent that was sitting on the mat in the living room. I get it, there are island bugs etc...but in all of my years of visiting, I've never had to deal with this problem. We were provided with a local contact person in case we had any problems etc.... I texted this woman the next day to report what we had to deal with the night before. She responded that she hopes we do not have any more of these "yucky moments". Now that it was daylight, we were now able to take in our surrounding area. The beach is to the right of this unit and the water view is great. However, there is an abandoned two-unit structure in front of our unit. This unit sits right on the beach and the deck has fallen onto the beach. There is graffiti on the building and rotted boards over the windows etc... There are several other abandoned buildings surrounding our unit as well. One is quite large with many units that sits behind this unit. It is unsettling at night when you return and you see these buildings completely dark and looming. It's like being in episode of "Lost". I've read the owner "Kathy's" response to other reviewers about these buildings. She does a great job of deflecting and denying that this is as severe as it is. I have no agenda not to tell the truth so future renters, make your own choice.
I will say that the unit itself is quite nice. It has a well equipped kitchen etc...
There are sliding doors in the bedroom area but they cannot be opened. There is a sign that says this is for "safety" and to "keep rodents out".
This whole area was owned by a hotel chain. There are other abandoned buildings on the property including a restaurant, clubhouse and other units. Sorry to say we would not rent here again.

Decompress at this Molokai Island Paradise
If you want to get away from it all, this lovely condo cottage overlooking the beautiful blue waters off the Molokai coast is the place to do so. My husband and I enjoyed our honeymoon in paradise. The pace is slower, top speed limit is 45 mph, and there are no traffic signals. The residents are genuine as well. Keep in mind that Molokai is unlike the other tourist-driven Hawaiian islands, so some may run out of places to go and things to do. However, we rented an off-road vehicle and enjoyed travelling the roads less traveled and saw scenery that others would otherwise miss. We highly recommend this location.

Cottage by the sea
When we first arrived I was a little concerned seeing all the boarded up abandoned buildings surrounding the cottage. After the first night at the cottage and exploring the beaches I felt more relaxed. We had a great time and enjoyed the cottage, it was nice and clean and had everything we needed. We plan on returning in the future.
