What's nearby:
Paniolo Hale itself is located on Molokai's west end just steps from the ocean. Kepuhi Beach is right out front and great for winter surfing and summer swimming/snorkeling and just relaxing. To the left from Kepuhi and across the old golf course is Papohako Beach, the longest white sand beach in the state of Hawaii. Papohaku is too rough for swimming in the winter months, but searching for seashells and watching the waves break are awesome ways to spend time there. A short walk to the right of Kepuhi brings you to Make Horse Beach, with easily accessed tide pools for exploring, a natural sheltered cove, and plenty of sand and sun for the perfect day at the beach. For great ocean scenery, there's also a hike to the point. There are many things to see and do on Molokai, and most are all outdoors. Paddlers can rent a kayak or stand-up boards and paddle over our barrier reef. Molokai is about outdoor activity and entertaining yourselves-always careful to respect Hawaii's surf conditions.

A very nice place. Very spacious and mom and I loved the airy Lenai's. A beautiful location with gorgeous beaches to walk to.

Highly recommend selecting this place. Very comfortable bed and a well stocked kitchen. My suggestion is they need to provide salt pepper, sugar, maybe be some starter spices, tea and starter coffee. The stores in town do not carry small size items. The Maunaloa General store is fairly close if you need to pick up something,

Public comments: Gorgeous living space opens completely to a screened in lanai. Life is good out on the lanai. Kitchen well equipped and easy to cook in. Bed and bedding comfortable.
Private to owner: The only downside was that the place had been cleaned but it was a while ago so there were dead bugs and gecko poop on the otherwise spotless white bedspread and pillows. I’m not grossed out by bugs and it is a tropical environment…maybe put the bedspread over the pillows to keep them clean?

Molokai is not for every traveller but we love it for its laid back vibe and lack of commercialization even though it's a half hour into the small town for groceries and grog. This is the second unit we've stayed in at this complex and preferred it for its updated furnishings, colourful local art, thoroughly equipped kitchen plus the beach chairs, swim fins and coolers. Due to a recent storm's impact we didn't travel as extensively around the island but did so last time, so we were content with the short walk to the beach, the sight of far-off whales, monk seals sleeping on the beach and afternoon time around the pool. Don't overlook the small balcony off the bedroom that provides views towards the ocean. The main floor lanai is private due to foliage with relaxing wicker furniture. The coffee pot gave up during our stay but luckily there was a French Press in the cupboard we could use before the new replacement arrived a few days later. Property management people were easy and friendly to deal with.

It was mesmerizing!!! We totally agree with the previous review….please take the time to read it. This condo is equipped with EVERYTHING. I could have baked bread if I wanted…can you imagine. You immediately feel at home the minute you walk in. The location of the condo is perfect for privacy. We want to thank Vacasa vacations for their part in making our vacation one to be remembered. And a HUGE thank you to the owners for allowing us to stay in their idyllic home.
Counting the days when we can come back. Looking to stay here again!!!

This was our second stay in B2 at Paniolo Hale. It's lovely to wake up in the upstairs bedroom, and see the trees swaying in the wind out the window. With the screens on the windows and doors, they can always be left open and gentle breezes are always going, keeping it cool.
The kitchen is beautifully equipped - it has EVERYTHING one might need, to prep any type of meal.
The rooms are spacious, and quite comfortable, and we appreciated the simplicity of the furnishings.

Paniolo Hale is a treat to visit. It's an oasis on the dry, wild side of Moloka'i, well designed and classic. Loved the pool, the proximity (a less-than-5-minute walk) to the BEST BEACHES in Hawaii, and soooo much hiking is right out the door, whether along the coastline up to I'lio Point, or overland on game trails.

We've stayed all over Moloka'i, at various condos. This is by far, the most attractive, most comfortable, and the best value of any we have visited.

Immaculately clean and organized. Not a single thing missing from beach towels to kitchen utensils! I’ve stayed in these condos for years and years, and this was the best one yet!

This home is B-E-A-UTIFUL! My fiancé & I had the great pleasure in staying here and we were blown away. Not only is this condo private, it’s shaded (with some lovely morning sun) so it stays very cool and it has great views of the oceanside from the upstairs balcony. Truly a gem and a real joy to stay here. To top it all off, the kitchen is WELL stocked! All of the spices, oils, pots, pans, etc. you need to have a comfortable stay.

Great property, communication from VACASA not so great
What info we got about checking in ("check in with the manager in unit A-1") was misleading and wrong... the manager for the whole condo has nothing to do with VACASA management, is not there long hours, is not in A building , does not have info about your unit key-code. Since I do not have access to my home e-mail while traveling I did not have the key-code to get in ( it was sent hours after we arrived, I found out after we stayed elsewhere the first night). The manager of the whole of Paniolo Hale was very helpful in helping me the next day. The unit was fair in cleanliness, but there was no way a thorough cleaning and checking of everything could have missed the garbage disposal's wild sounds of self-distructing the first time we turned it on and found metal parts of itself whirling around in it. They replaced quickly once we got the on-island rep's number. We've stayed in several other units on this property and found the location of B building the best for the cooling trades to usually blow straight through your windows and the beautiful wide open folding doors that are the walls.

Wonderful place
The trade winds blowing thru the screened lanai. Birds singing in the lush trees and foliage. Very quiet and relaxing. Add to that a condo that is roomy clean and very Hawaiian .I can’t imagine a nicer place.

I don’t really want to give this place a 5 star because I’d love to have it stay empty for when I return. It’s amazing. No view but plenty of shade and able to keep everything open ti enjoy the breezes. Perfect. Wish their was a coffee press to make things simpler. This place is amazing. Thanks to the owners for providing:)

The Great, The OK, and the Bad
The Great: The screened in lanai and open air concept with glass plantation shutters is primo and the highlight to this unit. The lounge chair furnishings are comfortable and newer. It provides a very relaxing space as you hear waves crashing in the distance (during winter months) and nonstop singing of tropical birds. Very tranquil. The beach nearby is nice, too but has limited shade.
The OK: The kitchen is not high-end, but is functional. The tiled countertops is reminiscent of the 1990’s. There are lots of kitchen gadgets, but no manuals how to use them. It was a bit much and pretty disorganized for this tiny kitchen. The bedsheets were worn and scratchy, and the bath mats definitely need to be replaced. The front door is difficult to unlock and open due to its age, seemed rusty. The WiFi went out our last couple days, it happens. Cell service is weak to nonexistent, which without wifi may be an issue for some.
The Bad: We saw and killed a cockroach running across the kitchen counter. We notified management so hopefully they can do something about this. The upstairs bathroom cabinet door randomly fell off its hinge and onto my toe while I was brushing my teeth. That was pretty painful and unexpected. The smoke alarm went off like 6 times every time we tried heating up the oven. It went off once when using toaster too. The kitchen drawers are in need of deep cleaning. Crumbs and grime, pretty gross. There’s a portion of road getting to this place that’s really rough, tons of potholes. Also, any type of dining, gas, and decent grocery shopping is 30 minutes drive from this condo complex. This may be issue for some.
There’s lots of room for improvement, but this place has great potential. Hope this helps!

Lovely, well-equipped condo
We have stayed in several units at Paniolo Hale. Unit B2 is the best that we've tried. It is super clean, nicely decorated and it's positioned high on the hill so it catches the cooling breezes. We had a great week!
BTW we strongly suggest that the shower curtain in the upstairs bath be lowered so that it is easier to keep the plastic liner inside the tub. That way you can better avoid water spills on the floor.

Nice place.
The location being close to the beaches made swimming trips fun and easy. The breezes kept the condo comfortable though the temps were in the mid to upper 80’s.

Beautifully appointed condo with easy access to beautiful West end beaches. The condo does look out onto a parking lot which is partially hidden by the lush plantings. There is a bright light in the parking lot that’s on throughout the night. The lighting within the condo at night is warm, but not great for reading. We loved the marauding gangs of deer that visited every night. The large, wrap around, screened lanai was a delight and insured cooling breezes.
