Imagine yourself relaxing in a prominent penthouse between the ocean dunes and a beautiful Amelia Island oak canopy located within the Amelia Island Plantation.

As you enter into the comfort of this inviting vacation get away, you are immediately drawn to the expanding ocean view which can be appreciated from a private balcony that spans the entire width of the villa. You can also view the beautiful Atlantic Ocean from the plush comfort of the king size bed. Enjoy the sunrises and watch the dolphin playing just beyond the sight and sound of ocean waves.

We offer a concierge service for guests desiring to add a personal touch to their vacation with a bottle of wine, charcuterie tray, flowers etc.... Just steps from the complex await the soft, sandy beaches, a refreshing swimming pool, as well as nature paths for hiking and biking. A short stroll south of the Sandcastles, is a boardwalk that meanders through the plantation's Sunken Forest, which provides various vantage points for viewing wildlife and picture taking of the beaches. Also located within the plantation are salt marshes which are great for kayaking, parks with picnic tables and grills to facilitate your vacation pleasure.

After a day of play, there are local shops and dining for all tastes or you may want to consider a massage at the spa within the resort.

Regardless of season, this Sandcastle property is a welcomed retreat, only minutes away from Historic Fernandina, which offers additional dining, shopping, and recreational venues.

We understand that sleeping in a comfortable bed is very important. The king size bed has a new Serta Perfect Sleeper mattress; Not too hard or too soft, enveloped with Egyptian cotton sheets. We feel this combination will provide a restful sleep, allowing you to awaken refreshed.

If you are attending a conference at the Omni Resort, we are only steps away from the Conference Center. You will find our accommodations to be conducive to your business needs.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
Essentially, our cancellation policy states a full refund will be allowed for reservations cancelled by the guests within 30 days of scheduled check-in. (Please see the actual contract when making your reservation.
Deposits are nonrefundable within 30 days prior check-in date

Accessibility: The elevator may be accessed by following the path around and behind the entrance stairs.

Amenities: (As you read the list on our site), please note: The washer and dryer are located in a laundry room just about 7 paces from our back foyer door. It is rarely busy since we are located on the top floor.

Outside Entertainment: Kayaks, canoes and bikes can be rented from Bike Scoot R Yak at a fraction of the cost that Amelia's Wheels charges. Tennis can be played at the resort tennis court if you register for a tennis clinic.

As first time Vrbo users, we scoured the online listings and settled on the Compass Rose as our home away at Amelia. From the second we walked in the door, we were welcomed with cookies, a personal note and the view!!! Absolutely stunning! The condo is beautifully updated and appointed. You really can see the ocean from every room! Tanya and Mark have thought of everything to make the Compass Rose a top notch accommodation. We can’t wait to return!

This was our first trip to Amelia Island. It was everything we had hoped and more! This place is everything you see in the pictures. It was like walking into home...warm and inviting...right down to the homemade chocolate chip cookies. We loved the balcony and waking up to the beautiful sunrises. There is a Shibumi and chairs for the beach which made enjoying the beach so easy. We chose to put our money into adventures (chartered boat tour and horseback riding) than lots of eating out. The well stocked kitchen made that so easy. Exploring the island and surrounding areas was awesome. We can't wait to return to do some of the things we didn't get to on this trip. They are truly 5 star hosts!

This rental had everything we needed to have a comfortable stay. The accommodations were immaculate and well appointed. The hosts were very attentive and made sure all of our needs were met. The location of the villa is perfect with few people along that stretch of the beach…even in July!

We were on Amelia Island for the week looking for a new home. We had never stayed on the South end of the beach. We loved it! The condo has been renovated to perfection. The beach is wide and the sand is soft. We tried new restaurants that we didn’t know existed. And, we potentially found a home and may be making Fernandina Beach and Amelia Island our home.

This was our first trip to Amelia Island and what a perfect place to stay that Compass Rose turned out to be! Thank you for your great hospitality. We saw every sunrise from the perfect balcony and enjoyed the uncrowded beach every day. We took a couple of trips to Fernandina Beach and a walk through Ft. Clinch State Park and enjoyed some great meals including The Boathouse, Salty Pelican, Falcon Nest, and especially Baxter’s. We’ve been to a lot of places in Florida and elsewhere, but now it’s hard to think of going anywhere else. Already looking forward to coming back! Chris & Amy (Indiana)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful condo. Everything was perfect. We really appreciated the little extras like cold bottled water, fresh chocolate chip cookies, and many other things which were provided for us. The condo was well decorated and extremely clean. The view from the balcony was fantastic. We hope to stay here again when we come to Amelia Island.

We had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend at the beach in style. We have stayed several times at Sandcastles on the Omni Resort but this has been the best unit with the Penthouse suite.

This condo is the perfect couple get away! The balcony is spectacular as are the views! Ideal spot for watching sunrise. The condo is very clean and updated. The bed is super comfortable. The faux fireplaces in both the main area and bedroom are wonderfully relaxing. The kitchen is well stocked. The owners are friendly, helpful and quick to reply. Highly recommend!

We have never stayed in a short-term rental that was prepared with such care. It was upgraded with modern materials and features and decorated like it was ready for a magazine shoot. Compass Rose is absolutely beautiful with outstanding views. Condo is immaculate and has everything you can possibly need to make your stay one to remember. We did not want to leave. The owners are wonderful and respond quickly to any questions or concerns that arise. Would definitely book this place again if we ever are fortunate enough to be in this area in the future.

I knew I wanted to stay here the minute I saw it online. In person the property was even lovelier. Terrific view of the ocean, beautiful beach, with our rental car easy access to everything on the island. Great communication with the owners who gave us great recommendations for things to do and places to eat. It was a wonderful vacation. We only wish they had more available days so we could have stayed longer!!

My wife and I had a great week by the beach. The apartment has a beautiful balcony and the condo itself is just what you need for a week in the sun. The maritime-themed interior design is beautiful and practical, the kitchen has literally everything a foodies' heart desires.The owners go above and beyond to assure that everything is just right. We hit a low though 3 days in when we run out of the 'welcome chocolate chip cookies' - but we persevered ;-) and we will be back.

The porch, we have to come back. The view, serine waves, waves were always calling. The sun was shining the way without blinding. The wind was helping us hear the way to the beach. Seagulls were showing us how to have fun on the shore with the waves. The rolling sea foam was always plying in the wind and seagull chiks, runnig away from the waves and into the foam. It is the place to come back and experience knowing it will be a better one, even though we just had a blast.

I took my wife there for her birthday. We August 13th through the 19th. Tannya and Mark are amazing as there property. They went as far as getting my wife a cake and flowers and left her a birthday message in a bottle. The condo was amazing it is one of the best places in years. Everything was so clean. We had a little problem with internet and they was quick to respond and no time had it fixed. The only thing that was better than the condo was location. It was right on the ocean and it had a huge outside deck. If you are reading this dont think twice book it . Thanks for the special memories that your property made. With out of a doubt we will book this place again.

This quiet, top floor unit has an expanded balcony with a beautiful view of the beach just as the listing states and shows. It is inside the Omni resort gates, which makes it fun and easy to walk on the trails and dine at the restaurants. The unit was very clean and beautifully appointed with everything we needed for comfort during our stay. The sofa is particularly comfortable as it reclines. The patio has very comfortable lounge chairs as well. They have beach equipment such as great beach chairs and an umbrella to use. This unit provides a five star vacation, and I highly recommend booking for your vacation.
